Selecting Realty Agent Irina Bondar:A lifetime of sound business practices and careful judgments led my wife and me to Irina Bondar, Sereno Group. Ms Bondar is the real estate agent we chose to sell our long-held rental property in San Jose.Choosing Irina was critical for us because, in advanced age, our time had come to exit the market with proceeds to see us through to our conclusion (to use a term). For an agent we sought these requirements: client commitment, competence, experience (but not at the cost of energy), self-possession, a careerist drive, but one contained within a healthy ego. Charm, too, could be a bonus, but hardly a priority. In sales, charm too often is too thin. It chips too soon. Reality is best.Our selection process began with interviews of multiple agents who represented the major, full-service Silicon Valley agencies. We chose Irina Bondar because she met, even exceeded, the requirements we envisioned. Clearly, she was in charge of her competent and pleasing self. Her thoughts on how to market a high quality duplex exceeded standard agent-think. She had refined and sensitive insights into diverse pools of potential buyers: investors, immigrants, techies, etc.Irina fully understood the Silicon Valley market even at the unsettled moment of decision —the early pandemic. She enjoyed a commanding grasp of the comparative sales and was prudent and wise regarding the market trajectory. These competencies were key to setting the correct asking price and, therefore, maximizing her impact at the moment she injected our single property into a massive Silicon Valley market.Bondar was all the better during the complicated, competitive, sometimes nasty business of selling. Irina sheltered us, her “mom and pop” clients, from the less scrupulous. With Irina buffering us, my wife and I even shared a few private laughs at the speculator with a sneaky, pre-sale, low-ball offer whose counter bump-up offer had the gall to ask us to engage in illegal, anti tenant actions.Bottom Line: Under Irina Bondar’s guidance our Mom and Pop’s lifetime investment received multiple offers and sold above the asking price. (She offered to negotiate it higher but we declined with complete satisfaction.) All this for a reasonable, competitive commission. Propelling this success was the high quality staging and fine artistic video marketing (including drone photography of the upscale neighborhood zooming out to pan a clear-air Valley beyond). Our experience with Irina was always pleasant, highly professional, and frequently fun. She delivered what Mom and Pop sought. Security into the future.
