If you’re looking for beautiful live edge slabs of wood for projects, American Wood Importers is the ONLY place to go! I searched tirelessly in the city I live in, Denver, and couldn’t find a single slab that had double live edges that was over 9” tall that was reasonably priced so I took my search to the Internet and found American Wood Importers. I gave the shop a call and spoke directly to the owner Mike! He’s such a personable dude and we spoke for 45 minutes about what I was looking for. Mike invited me to his Google docs where I could see hundreds of pictures of slabs with accurate pricing and availability that were shipping from Costa Rica that month. The slab arrived in LA a few weeks later and they got to work. After flattening the slab, they Facetimed me so I could show them were I wanted the slab to be cut (9’5” ft fits perfectly in my dining room)! What’s great about this company is they have the ability to ship consumers raw slabs or do epoxy and finish work at any stage the costumer wishes. I Facetimed Mike multiple times throughout the process to see progress and he even went ABOVE AND BEYOND to UPS me the extra cut pieces so my boyfriend and I can make a floating shelf out of the 6” they cut off. Mike and his company are the BEST IN THE BUSINESS and I would recommend them alllll day long!
