Visited this amazing shop today, what a unique place. My husband is a wood working hobbiest and was looking for imported wood. Well we met DJ and he offered to give us a quick tour. These guys are true artist, the creations are unbelievable. Will be returning for sure

The American Wood Importers team is awesome! These guys know their stuff, and know customer service!! I had a slab shipped to Arizona, but I didnt have a place to put store it right away as I was in the middle of moving my shop. Luckily it was no problem for Mike. He set up a later shipping date and it arrived on time and more beautiful than I imagined!! I will definitely be doing more business with this company.

They have beautiful slabs of wood, and I was very lucky to be introduced to Mike and his team. Not only did Mike listened to what I was specifically looking for but he gave me different options to choose from. I could immediately see the passion these people have for their craft and it definitely shows thru their work. I am extremely happy with my one of a kind dining table and love the fact that nobody else has the same exact one. By the way they also surprised me with a beautiful bench using the straps of my slab!

We knew we wanted a “beast” of a live edge slab table for our family. One that would, hopefully, be around long after we are gone from this earth. We patiently waited for the “right one” to come along. After speaking with several sources to find the perfect slab, we found “ the one” with Mike at American Wood Importers. We never once felt pushed to buy. Instead found ourselves being educated by Mike about the wood, the process and the craftsmanship involved in bringing these beautiful, one of a kind pieces to life. On top of all of it, he was fun to talk to - we could’ve stayed all day! Such a down to earth group of people - you’d never know they are sought after internationally!

Mike helped me out with my first project and this man was the biggest help I can ask for. Great guy with amazing prices and beautiful wood. Very knowledgeable, Amazing customer service and communication with his customer. Thankyou! DJ does excellent work and is also super knowledgeable about epoxy. great people! Definitely recommend checking out if you never have.

As a wood lover I am impressed by the place i just discovered. It has a big collection of live edge slabs, each piece is unique and magical. The people there are friendly and knowledgeable, we are going to do our first diy project - a coffee table with their kind advice. Admire the large tables they make, definitely will visit again.

If you’re looking for beautiful live edge slabs of wood for projects, American Wood Importers is the ONLY place to go! I searched tirelessly in the city I live in, Denver, and couldn’t find a single slab that had double live edges that was over 9” tall that was reasonably priced so I took my search to the Internet and found American Wood Importers. I gave the shop a call and spoke directly to the owner Mike! He’s such a personable dude and we spoke for 45 minutes about what I was looking for. Mike invited me to his Google docs where I could see hundreds of pictures of slabs with accurate pricing and availability that were shipping from Costa Rica that month. The slab arrived in LA a few weeks later and they got to work. After flattening the slab, they Facetimed me so I could show them were I wanted the slab to be cut (9’5” ft fits perfectly in my dining room)! What’s great about this company is they have the ability to ship consumers raw slabs or do epoxy and finish work at any stage the costumer wishes. I Facetimed Mike multiple times throughout the process to see progress and he even went ABOVE AND BEYOND to UPS me the extra cut pieces so my boyfriend and I can make a floating shelf out of the 6” they cut off. Mike and his company are the BEST IN THE BUSINESS and I would recommend them alllll day long!

Weve bought a number of slabs from these guys over the years. They get in great product, and I highly recommend having them do the flattening and filling work. They do a great job and it for sure will cost you less money, pain and aggravation than doing it yourself.

You won’t find a better shop around. Had my first visit today and met Mike and got some wood for some new projects to try. Mike showed me the whole shop, taught me new stuff about all kinds of different wood and was super great to talk to! Will be back soon!

Where do I begin... I own a small woodworking business and have been going place to place looking for nice slabs to make tables. I found American Wood Importers on Instagram and decided to go check it out. Dj welcomed me and gave me a tour of the facilities. I was in pure awe! It’s like a fantasy play house. I met Mike later and he was just as welcoming. He took time out of his day to teach me about different species of wood. They are very knowledgeable and people persons. Long story short, I will be going to American Wood Importers for wood and epoxy! They also have a welder Remond on which is pretty convenient to finish the base of any project. Thanks again guys.

I would highly recommend coming here for all your epoxy and wood slab needs. I didn’t spend much time looking around but the variety I saw just in the time I was there was awesome! Mike and all of the staff were very welcoming and very friendly.
