I was looking for a computer repair near me in Thousand Oaks for data recovery or repair of my hard drive. John (aka Dr. PC) was AMAZING on the phone, 1st tried to trouble shoot the issue then provided honest and reasonable range of what recovery would cost.He picked up the drive from my house (WHAT A HUGE TIME/LIFE Saver!) and explained the process should it need to be escalated to a lab... which it did and he kept me aware of the steps and timelines over the period it was sent off.In the end, the data was not recoverable unfortunately due to the major damage to the drive, and although I lost a TON of data... I couldnt be more pleased with his services, communication and prices, so I gained a trusted IT professional Ill be calling on for any future needs. COULDNT recommend John more highly!

Awful service. They were not in during normal business hours and the clueless lady on the phone tells me to come back at 630 pm Friday (they close at 5pm). Theres no sign on the door labeling the business. I arrive on time and the man who owns the business tells me he wont open it because its a 2 in 1 desktop, i waited 6 hours to drop my computer off only to find He’s not qualified to open this specific computer. Terrible communication skills terrible customer service. Computer spirit.

This is the worst store experience I have ever had. I called the store at Thousand Oaks Mall and Tuesday, (10/04/18) and was told if I showed up, it would be about a 30 minute wait. I drove over an hour to the store and was told by a very non-greeting greeter the earliest I could be seen was Tuesday (10/9/18). I explained that I spoke directly to a person at their store and what I was told. The store greeter tells me whoever I spoke to didn’t Have access to her computer. However, David ( who I spoke to) told me he checked the computer and said there was availability at a 30 minute wait.Insult to injury, when I walked into the store I had to look for a greeter and when I found one just leaning on a counter I had to approach her when she could see I was in need of assistance.This store first impression was horrible. I hope that not all their employees are like her. She was non-inviting to the business. As for the other employee he basically waisted two hours of my time in driving and gave me, apparently, bad information.Buying AppleCare Pro is a waist of money if you need your item fixed in any reasonable amount of time.In short: don’t waist your time seeking service at this store if you want it in less than a week.

So, I have a high-end 3-monitor gaming PC that Ive been upgrading for years. Just at the beginning of October 2021, to my surprise, Windows 10 gave me a notice that my PC wasnt eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 11. My motherboard didnt have the Intel TPM chip installed.I researched online for motherboards that have this capability (heres a little hint for everyone: all ASUS motherboards have had this chipset since 2015 - you just have to manually enable it yourself - took 2 minutes) and bought an ASUS, a liquid cooling system and a new PC tower case.Now, whos going to take the hefty components from my old tower, transfer them to the new one and also install the new purchases I made?Do I trust the Geek Squad? - No.Do I miss Frys Electronics? - Oh, yes.I was so lucky to find the two guys at J & S Advanced I.T. They responded to my Yelp question within minutes of posting, told me they could help and set up an appointment for me.I dropped off all of my gear at their convenient office in the heart of lovely Thousand Oaks and they finished this big job the SAME DAY.When I picked up my computer, they brought me to the office, showed it was working, ran diagnostics and performance tests. They even transferred all of my files for me. Outstanding !!An amazing job, reasonable prices, professional owners and fast service!!5 *****, A +++

Called for Geek Squad and after long hold time, I was dropped during the call, prob intentional, as I was a tad confrontational. Just wanted to know cost of installing 3-4 webcams. Couldn’t even reach anyone or get a prelim cost for it. Already HUGE TIME WASTER. Think I’ll go elsewhere.They are good at marketing their services, but can’t deliver on that promise.From what I read on other reviews they took forever to fix a computer, were out of the battery for a device. Sounded so bad. I had excellent experience att Batteries plus Bulbs store in Thousand Oaks. Turned in my iPad for a new battery, got it back in perfect shape less than 48 hours and cheaper than promised. I would highly recommend them, so friendly too.
