Major thanks to Dc computers and Chris for the support on my custom build. I came to them with a big ask, swap a motherboard cpu and power supply and cooling as fast as possible. Less then 30 hours later I was picking her, and she looked better then ever.The saying goes, you can have it cheap, you have it fast, or you can have it done right. DC computers pulled off the impossible and delivered on all 3, and to top it off, they were great at communicating throughout the process.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Please see the photo I have attached with the store’s predatory return policy. I needed a laptop charger for my MacBook Air and decided to come here because I wanted to support a local business instead of big Apple. Brought the charger home and it ended up being defective. When I brought it back to the store the next day, the sales associate hit me with a “we don’t sell defective products, and we don’t accept returns or exchanges on accessories.” Then he pointed me to this return policy. Ladies and gentlemen, just don’t come here. They trap you into buying defective products that you can’t return or exchange. They said they’d make an exception for me and accept an exchange, but they charged me an additional 15% restocking fee. PS, the store smells like an animal shelter because they keep a cat inside the store to keep the rat infestation down.

DC Computers in Hillcrest is the best computer store in San Diego. I honestly like it better than the Apple Store. They have MacBooks, MacBook Pros, iMacs, MacBook Airs, Mac Pros, Mac Minis + PCs for Sale, like IBM ThinkPads and Lenovo laptops.I got a MacBook Pro from them for my personal computer and they upgraded the RAM and the SSD Hard Drive. For my business, DC provided me with a powerful 27 inch iMac, and even replaced a cracked screen on a laptop for me and saved the data.Plus, they have some of the best deals on iPhones & iPads in town.They are so cool and understanding, and their customer service is terrific.Thank you DC Computers!

I love DC Computers— I’ve purchased a monitor, laptop, and 8-in-1 dongle from them and all have been great! Their customer service is spectacular and they have a team of highly educated and helpful staff. They even helped me with an issue I had with a mouse that I didn’t purchase at the store. I cannot recommend this spot more highly! Though it sometimes may seem counterintuitive to go to a store that is not Apple for mac computers, the techs here are incredible, thoughtful, and affordable.I took my computer in with a strange battery problem, and they replaced it quickly, while also updating my operating system and making sure that all of my applications were compatible with the new OS.Michael was my technician, and he took the time to explain to me what I could better do for my machine to keep the battery healthy and how and what he did to fix it. Overall 11/10.

DC Computers is awesome! I dropped my old iMac off last week with non starting issues and they diagnosed the issue quickly. I was able to get a really good price on parts to repair and they were able to transfer all my data and important photos/videos onto a new hard drive. 10/10 highly recommend.

Friendly staff, professional environment with knowledgable guys. However, considering i got my computer to work unexpectedly on its own, it’s fair to say they misdiagnosed my computer by stating that it was a logicboard failure with a fried charging port which rendered me two options; A, i pay around 900 bucks for the repair of the logic board and charging port or B, i buy a new 1000+macbook. i will give this store benefit beyond the the doubt that they made an honest misdiagnosis, however a misdiagnosis could cause you to end up paying hundreds to over a thousand unfairly.

Ive used DC Computers several times for my computers. My company runs on iMacs. I upgraded one computer and it was as fast as a rocket, so I upgraded the rest of them.Reasonable prices and turnaround. The service was excellent. They didnt suggest more than I needed. I went to them 2 years ago and they were so great. They replaced my screen on my MacBook in record time! Well they were no less spectacular today. Mike helped me out and was so patient and knowledgeable. I went in with my 10 year old MacBook to see if sprucing it up was worth it, or should I look for a new computer? He talked with me in detail and was very forthcoming about my options. I decided to go with a 2020 MacBook that was apple refurbished. I got a great deal and felt very well taken care of when I left! ADDENDUM - March 5, 2023They did it again! My monitor died so I called and they had a like-new BENQ 32 4k monitor for $299... a third less than new and its fantastic!======My Mac died today. I took it to DC at 1 PM. I thought I just needed a system reinstall but in less than two minutes he diagnosed the problem as a firmware update error… which is quite an esoteric diagnosis for two minutes. And he was right, because he could demonstrate it, and I have been using a Mac since 86 so I really knew he was right on the money.Then he did something that made me mad… He said it would be fixed by the end of the day, but it only took three hours instead… I barely got home when I got the call to come get it.You must understand something, there are perhaps a half a dozen independent Mac repair shops in the continental United States that will give you that severely high level of expertise. Congratulations San Diego you’ve got one. Use it..

These guys are fantastic. When I called to ask for advice buying a used computer for my flight simulator they took lots of time with me on the phone to explain what I needed. I bought an almost new gaming laptop from them for 1/3 the price of a new one. When I had a small problem a month later with a configuration setting they explained clearly what I needed to do and even did the Google search for me to make sure I was directed to the right instructions. Everyone in their store is extremely knowledgeable about computers and they have a great customer service attitude.

These guys are a class act.I brought them a 2013 macbook pro that wouldnt turn on. They recommended a new logic board. Pricing for the repair was fair and I was on the fence about fixing my older computer. They gave great advice to help me decide if fixing v. buying a new laptop was the right choice. I talked to multiple employees and communication and friendliness was consistent across all Representatives.The diagnosis fee of $40 was also fair.Id recommend DC coomputers if you need your computer diagnosed and fixed!

Very nice staff. Quick service. However, check the price before using. Cost to fix my old iMac with a new drive was 50 dollars less than a refurbished same year and model with double the storage. Therefore, you are paying for speed and location of service. Up to you.

I have visited DC computers twice and both times have had excellent service. My first experience was with my lenovo thinkpad that had water spilled on it. They tried to repair it but were unable to - however they waived the repair fee since I purchased a refurbished ThinkPad from them and they did a great job of transferring all the data from the old/damaged computer to the new one. Came here again last month and bought another Lenovo thinkpad for our new Admin. Have also had them install new memory on an old computer. Great service and prices - highly recommended.

DC C. reapplied thermal paste to my late 2013 MBP. The service was quick and the computer was returned completely cleaned up, including all the keys on the keyboard.Another time I needed to ask an expert how to find something on some software of our banking records. Nobody seemed to know the answer, but they had a very good idea that worked. Anyway they helped me for free.I highly recommend them and will continue using their services.

I bought a computer from them in 2015 when i needed to upgrade for a new job. I have always been an Apple customer, but wasn’t making Apple money, so i was stoked to find a local option that offered that product at a lower cost. I didn’t need the newest of new, i just needed something that worked and was more reasonably secure than buying off of Craigslist or something. These guys far exceeded that. They were helpful, steering me away from a more expensive, but unnecessary option, and reassured me that they would guarantee the purchase.I still have and use that computer every day. It works great and i MAY upgrade from them soon, just cause you can’t change the battery in an Airbook.

In brief, they saved me some hassle from buying a cable that would fit but not work, and suggested an equal priced alternative that does.I have a monitor with several inputs, that I switch between to display from different computers. Its HDMI input has become flaky, so I needed to switch my primary Mac Mini to feeding it through a DisplayPort or mini DisplayPort input. I was going to try using its HDMI output to drive that, but they let me know that only works the other way around. So, I got a USB-C/Thunderbolt to DisplayPort cable instead, on their suggestion. It works like charm, [email protected] picked up some other stuff I needed in short notice in the past from them, too. Theyve been quick, well stocked, helpful, and friendly.

Came in to get my iPhone battery replaced. The store was clean and had some cool looking dismantled computer displays. The cost was about $70, and took about an hour to do. The guy was very friendly and straightforward, and he was correct in that the battery would help my trusty iPhone 6 pick up speed again. I would bring my computer to get repaired here again.

They do a good job. Its hard selling and maintaining computers day in and day out so they do get a bit weary. And their prices are steep but are also backed up by their integrity and fairness. When I need a sure thing fast for a client I go here. They never disappoint. Be sure to help them make sure you have all you need at the time of purchase. These guys get tired and a little grumpy once in awhile... Hell, its hard work dealing with this stuff all day long... so make sure you are careful about what you purchase, that it is right for you and has all the components you need. If not theyll still come through for you. Youll pay a premium but you will never get ripped off here. Ask for Chris Donnelly. Hes the best.

I had replaced my battery and a few weeks later, it just didnt charge anymore. I was concerned so I called the DC Computer, they told me to bring it in so I did. I am attached to my computer because of my work so I told them if they can do it quickly... BOOM 1.5hr later they called me and apologize for having me to come back again for their error and they put a BRAND NEW battery for free! I cant thank enough!

I am very grateful to DG Computers and recommend them highly. I bought a 2013 macbook pro from them about 6 years ago which worked great until I spilled coffee all over the keyboard last week. I took it to DG Computers and although they could fix it....it was expensive, and since it was an old computer I purchased a newer 2020 macbook pro with Daniels help. Subsequently, the spacebar stuck on this computer and it was fixed the same day when I took it back to the store. I had a few issues with my gaming rig and took it in to get looked at a few weeks ago. I dropped off my computer acting foolishly like I had no idea what was wrong with it. I needed a little bit more help when it comes to certain things with my custom built rig. I came back the next day thinking they called me in to bring my monitor since my BIOS would not come up? When I brought in the monitor, guy at the front counter said it would be looked at by Monday? I simply repeated myself letting him know that I was picking up my computer and wanted to see what was wrong with it. As soon as I gave him the specs. He mumbled a bit and I could tell he was trying to blow me off at first. Started throwing numbers at me $1,500-$1,900 for a new build that I didnt want? I asked him what type of upgrades would be possible?? Younger guy working in the back on the computers was very nice and knowledgeable when I asked about CPU and motherboards. I walked out of DC Computers more disappointed than when I brought it in. I understand he has a service to provide, but not like that. Needs better customer service.

Ive had a 06 macbook and up until recently it was working kinda slow. I knew someday I was going to need to invest in a more newer mac. So I decided to check out DC Computers to see if they could help me out.Daniel did a on the spot diagnostic test and let me know that trying to fix/upgrade my current mac would not be the best route to go with and eventually I would be spending more $$$ trying to always upgrade it. So I after looking at about 3 different macs with various price levels, made the decision. Got a MacBook Pro for a lot less then a new one!! Daniel hooked it up with a great price and threw in Adobe Suite. Since my purchase Ive had no issues with my Mac.Amazing service and experience! The motherboard (ASUS) on my 6-year old rebuild of a Dell desktop finally bit the dust. Since DC Computers is only a few blocks from my house, and since they had been recommended to me many times by friends and work colleagues, I took the corpse to them. They recommended a Lenovo desktop with roughly the same speed and data storage as my old system so I bought it. That came with a complete transfer of my Windows 10 and all the data. In 24 hours it was ready for pick-up. My experience when I got it home and turned it on was unbelievably smooth. Everything was where it was, all the files were intact, and the machine was far faster than the relic. The staff couldnt have been more helpful or knowledgeable, especially Chris D. who answered all my questions in jargon-free English. I recommend them unreservedly.

This is my second time visiting, and both were easy and economical. The first involved adding memory and a larger drive to my old desktop. Today I picked up my daughter’s MacBook. She had taken it to the Apple store after spilling water on it. Apple quoted $1,500 minimum for repair and encouraged her to consider a new laptop. DC fixed it for $95. Doesn’t get much better than that.

After the manufacturers of my computer told me it would be $400 (TO START!!!) to replace one hinge...... DC Computers replaced both hinges, discovered a failing battery and replaced it, at a total cost of $290. They were fast, friendly and frighteningly efficient. I would give them 7 stars if I could, but Google isnt having it. I love my computer like some people love their pets and leaving it with anyone is hard; thank Buddha I found this place.

The guys were not wearing masks, and when I asked why not, they just said they didnt have to. The service was mediocre - sort of whatever. I did buy a newer computer as my old one died, and they give a discount on data recovery. But when it was ready, they said they didnt remove the corrupted files.Picking up today and will update after I get it.

They fixed my computer.I’m OSX BSD Linux user for life, but when you have to go Microsoft, this company sold me the official license of Windows 7, with Office!One of their sales reps is a cat, which is an interesting approach, but highly effective when you are having the melt down from a catastrophic data loss & your life may very well literally be on the line.Or at least your professional career.I will likely write to Google to see about changing the 5 star maximum to give this organization 6. They could have replaced the hard drive in my computer under warranty but said it would be too much of a hassle and that they wouldnt do it. Its because they would only be making money off labor why waste their precious time . I even advised i would gather purchase date and manufacturer name and number and he still wouldnt touch it. Brought my computer in with something wrong with the monitor or graphics card. They got it to work again but were unable to recreate the issue. They ran it through the ringer to see if they could find it. Asked them a few questions about what would happen again and told me that Apple would have to be the ones to fix it. Hooked me up in a day. These guys are awesome. Did this all same day! Will be bring my computer back to them if anything happens again.

I had an issue with my laptop so I came here. The guy I spoke to kept calling me dude and seemed to have a bit of a hostile attitude toward me.He was a white, taller dude, maybe 6 foot two. Gave me incorrect directions to another place, which was closed.Left with an unpleasant taste in my mouth.

First time building a computer. It didn’t turn on. I took it in, was $89 just for it to get evaluated. It took 3 WEEKS just for a call telling me it would cost $600, and another few days. Just for them to swap out one of the components for another, and a few cable management adjustments. It’s been 3 or so months, and turns out I didn’t use the proper CPU cooler. Reckon they should’ve caught that. Know I have to buy a replacement, and take the thing back apart again. There’s a big red dot on my motherboard warning about the CPU, and the top coolers lights don’t even work.
