I gave them a 2 star rating because the guy who works there is super friendly. Unfortunately, this is the worst service that Ive ever gotten in my life. My laptop was running at snail speeds and if I tried to load chrome, windows task manager, etc. it would crash my system so I dropped it off. The guy told me 5-7 days for an initial consult because they had so many computers on hand. 10 days later I stopped in and he says theyll look at my computer next. 4 more days go by and they finally have an opinion. They say my motherboard is fried: itll cost 300 for the part, 130 for the service and 2 weeks waiting time for the motherboard to come in. Long story short, after waiting a month, they tell me that Sony wont ship them the part and they return my laptop free of charge. So, they had my laptop for over a month and a half and didnt do anything. About 2 days later, Im talking to my friend about how messed up my computer is. He tells me, theres no way its the motherboard, your hard drive is probably toasted. So I go to Frys electronics, buy a 500GB laptop drive ($40), a screwdriver ($3), replace my hard drive at home and reload the operating system with the software I got with my laptop and it ran like a brand new computer. After that, I did data recovery on the old drive and my laptop is back to normal again. Honestly, I was just surprised they werent able to figure out such a simple issue that I was able to remedy myself; after all, theyre supposed to be the professionals, not me.
