I came into this store for the first time today and my experience turned out to be amazing. Although the prices for most items was on the high side it was the staff that won it for me! I had just came in from out of state and was rushing to get some items. I went to self checkout to get flowers and candles for my gf birthday in secret. She was also with me in the store so I was rushing so that she didn’t see me. I requested cash back and while completing my order I forgot to grab my cash. I walked off and went all the way to my car them BOOM 🤯 I remembered I didn’t collect my cash! By the time I hopped out to run back in to get my money it was gone. Two Workers jumped right on it and checked the cameras. They seen a man come right behind me and took my money and used it to pay for his groceries smh. Although I totally understand it was my fault they still replaced the money that was stolen. I simply couldn’t believe it and almost started crying from the amount of kindness they showed me! They absolutely did not have to replace my money but they did! I will forever be grateful for that and they just don’t know how much they helped me! Thanks again great customer service! 💕💯

Clean like most Vons always has the freshest produce of all grocery stores with Albertsons being its only real competitor in that department. And they have everything you could need to make breakfast, lunch or dinner. But your gonna pay a little more for literally everything but thats the price we pay for the best and freshest produce. Ya dig!

Waited at meat counter for 15 minutes nd the meatcutter ignored me and the others waiting. Finally gave up and headed to register without the shrimp I wanted. Line was, not exaggerating, TWENTY PLUS PEOPLE LONG. 3 out of 6 registers open and the rest of the employees just ignoring the customers. Gave up and walked out.

Prices are crazy high but store is clean. I don’t normally use the app but it has some good deals. I clipped the coupons and wasn’t sure what to do at the register. The clerk, Sandra, also didn’t know what to do and threw me attitude like I was inconveniencing her. You’d think she would ask someone else AND you’d think she’d know this basic part of the shopping experience. Turns out that all I had to do was put my phone number in.

From Vegas where this would be considered an old school Vons. My husband found cinnamon rolls he hasnt had since he was a kid. The store was a godsend while were on vacation and needed pain medication. The Rite Aid was shut for the night at 9pm and Vons was a beacon. Even the grocery bags are better quality than at home. Worth the $0.20 per bag.

Love it! Small store but it has all the essentials! The employees are super sweet and they have a big selection of baked goods and preheated food along with junk food but also organic healthy food. A nice blend of both! The produce looked gorgeous! Very happy with my visit. If you are a member bring your card the prices are a little high.

Ok I have to admit that there are really two places in Vons that I would always look at first. One is the deli counter as I like their chicken fried, baked or Habanero style. The other is the discount goods in the back. Its like shopping for a deal. Afterwards I just mosey around the store. There is a busy Starbucks here. The flowers 🌺🌹 💐 are always a plus to see in the store. Enjoy your visit. 🤗

The Vons on Tamarak isn’t my typical grocery store but when I went there recently their staff member Patty was amazing. Not only was her knowledge of whisky and bourbon top notch but she was so helpful and friendly. I will definitely add this store into my regular rotation and recommend it to all my friends. A Vons out there off of Tamarack Ave., by I-5, Encinitas, Bad traffic on I-5 caused us to exit & found Vons for a quick lunch. Mind you, Vons has a great deli dept that makes great sandwiches! My sandwich was scrumptious, Turkey Pesto Avocado on sourdough! My sandwich guy was so nice, friendly & very accommodating. A relatively small location, clean, well stocked, with very friendly staff. Just remember when youre around this area, stop in, youll be glad you did. 👍

Honestly, Im around the corner and I go there every other day, mostly out of convenience and the amazing staff that they have. Really great people work there who actually seem to take a pleasure in making customers feel like they are T a local country mart. The store needs to be re-configured isles are narrow and not a great layout. Plus they put in like six check yourself out machines that you cant use for booze and everybody is buying it and they never have more than two check stands open anymore at one time so especially right now lines are long. Need some upgrades for sure! Just keep the staff because they are awesome!!!

This is a great Vons store! It has been here serving Carlsbad ever since I was a boy. Those small, it is well-stocked and the choices that it offers are always great. The staff is friendly and professional. The parking lot is adequate and very accessible. It’s a great neighborhood grocery store!

Easily found what I needed. Greeter at the door welcoming you in, was nice. Store was clean and orderly. Self serve register was a snap. Busy little Center but plenty of exits in parking lot make it a breeze to make a quick pit stop.

Used to shop here as a Safeway late 70s early 80s. About 1/3rd the size of newer sites. Clean, sort of retro feeling, small aisles. Deli smells great at midday. A long piece out of my way to shop regularly, but for me, a cool little trip in the wayback machine.

We have been going to this Vons for many years and while it is a smaller store they have an on-site bakery and deli, fresh flowers and a huge veggie department. The best quality of this Vons is the people who work there. They are friendly, genuine and good at their jobs. Going here is one of the few places in town where the workers say hello and chit chat making it feel like the small town it used to be. It gets busy during the summer when the tourists flock but anyone can google the store and see real-time how busy it is so if crowds are a bother - just go another time. We adore this Vons and very much appreciate what they have endured this last year.

How in the world you could shop here is BEYOND ME. It’s not clean at all, well organized or well laid out. Prices are unethically high. Selection is very limited since it is such a small store and produce is not fresh. The worst part of this store is the fact that the check out stands are always backed up. More times than I care to remember there have been 5-6 people in each line with only two cashiers. This place is a joke.When I need booze on the way to the beach, go to rite aid right next door. Better prices AND selection. If you need food, do yourself a favor and drive five extra minutes to Winco in Oceanside.I wish I could give zero stars. I legit hate this place.

Way, way, way toooo expensive. Theres a large population of senior people on a fixed income, and many HUD neighbors is well. They are not made of money and should not have to pay such outrageous prices for everything! The only good thing is the five for five deals then you can get some sort of reduction in price but all in all its just ridiculously high

Just was scolded by an employee who said I walked to close to him and a customer. He was running his price equipment for stock recording and there was a long line of people behind me. He was also going the wrong way against the laid out pattern on the floor. Rude. HE should have moved out of the way for the customers much less never said anything. Shopped their expensive prices for 12 years.. no more.

As a nearby local, this store should be the grocery go-to, but honestly I avoid it as much as possible because there is never enough staff to keep check-out from being a hassle of a wait. Ahhhhh this store really grinds my gears -- Okay, its small, but they do what they can with the space they have. If youre popping in for something quick, odds are theyll have what you need or something close. Theyve also had some really cute succulents outside, at decent prices. But the lines! I know Im not the only one to complain about those wacky lines. What the heck. They stretch into the aisles, allowing little to no room for carts to scoot by. Im not sure why this is such an issue at this store. If youre truly in a rush, do not go here, or minimally, do not go here hAngry and make sure youve had your medication.

Perfect for boozers, beach bums and people who cant cook. Rudimentary cooking essential ingredients are never here. The parking lot and bushes are full of trash. Complained for years, nothing changes. Frustrating and disgusting. Third of the store space dedicated to booze, instead of essential grocery items. Obviously, the positive reviews are from people who dont know the difference. This store is a tear-down at the least.

Prices seemed to go up. But if you have a vons card and their app you can get items at a reasonable price. You had to log the items into the app though attached to your vons card to redeem them. And Im pretty sure they are one time discounts.I prefer other grocers.Only go for a couple of items.

I love Vons. They have a beautiful store that is both cleverly and practically laid out for easy navigation that I can get lost in but also be in and out when I am pressed for time. They always have enough Checkers working to prevent mile-long lines unlike just about every other store of their kind.I have been a vegan going on 18 years and Vons has always been Progressive when it comes to carrying a wide variety of meat/dairy-substitutions, fresh produce, literally you name it they have it all. The fresh fruit is always a treat as they have a gargantuan selection, and the best part is the experts you can always find on the floor maintaining their high quality standards one piece of fruit or vegetable at a time who are more than happy to answer any questions you might have. They will even cut open any kind of fruit you want to try, thats how confident they are in the goods they r selling!Id say my favorite thing about Vons is the wide variety of classic and new foods and products they carry that in my opinion cannot be matched by anyone. Keep up the good work!

Debbie the cashier in express lane seemed racist because she did not say any greetings to me and Im Asian but she was all smiles and greeted the next Caucasian customer behind me. Vons is cool. Good neighborhood name. This particular Vons is tiny n need a huge remodel sess and an expansion but has a bit of everything. The crew works hard and things in the end are pretty straight forward. Got your deli you can good sandwiches at. Bakery area which has the donuts, bagels cookies n cakes. And if u ask for help, u can have a cake ordered from the manager on back. Dairy, which always seems pretty beat up, but has al the selection youd want. Jus got to keep the dairy clerks out of the checkstands. A Meat department which has everything but also guys in there that make u feel like your puttin them out to get service. Nice liq dept recently remodeled. Produce that has the essentials. Small Gm section with the basics n could b improved on its hair gel product and back n pain meds. And a Froz dept. Cool thing is, most dept to have good markdowns. If uf can get in early, ul have the better pick and might beat the crazy lines here. Need to schedule more checkers. All in all good older store. Oh and honey jams and peanut butter are all to the left aisle 0 by the bakery and bread
