The store itself is nice but they s to me see a very unacceptable for a store to allow someone to walk their dog freely through a grocery store. This is definitely against the Dept of Health guidelines, even though there’s a sign on the outside of the doors managers are afraid to enforce the rules! Shame on the manager.

Customer service is terrible everyone ignores you especially the bakery staff who clearly see me standing there and just continues to ignore me. A decent Vons. You can find a Starbucks, bakery, pharmacy, and thoroughly stocked liquor section. They have multiple self checkout lanes, but also always have multiple active cashiers. They sell ice and dry ice.

Love how peaceful morning shopping trips are here. All the employees were bright eyed and awake ready to assist when needed. I totally swear by the Vons app you can download on the playstore. It made the difference from a 55-60$ bundle of groceries down to a 33.50$ total instead!! Which for me is GREAT!! Im always looking for good discounts and coupons to save anywhere I can! The store only had a few other shoppers which is the way I like it to be while grocery shopping. None of those kind of shoppers whom constantly bump into your cart, from all directions. No loud commotion. And everything in stock because it was so early! Vons is a favorite grocery store. And like I said earlier, downloading the app really does make a difference when it comes to the cost of everything. Vons is notorious for being on the expensive side. But with the app I clip approximately 5-7 coupons which gives me a 15-25% discount. Today I used a coupon that was 10$ off a bill over 10$!!!!

I shop here frequently, as I live quite close and Ive been here on 3 separate occasions and have witnessed rotten meat on the self. Literally turning green. The first time (rotten, green pepperoni), I let it pass. The second (rotten, green ribeye steaks), same thing. Its now the third time (rotten, green London broil). Its foul and lets me know quality control and health code regulations are not up to par at this location.

Terrible customer service from the self checkout attendant. She was over the top rude when I asked for a return. The item had their store number on a sticker. After being brushed off I asked for a manager. She says she is the manager.I have been patronizing this establishment for the better part of a decade. I know the managers. She doesnt help or seem to do anything much at all. My wife does 90% of our grocery shopping there and I get the same feedback from her.Please help the night attendant at self checkout to be more professional and helpful.

I referenced that Sprouts on El Camino real (;they told me I cant shop there anymore) that created conflict with me and the cashier Janie said she didnt believe I was telling the truth. It was my TO GO store for long 12 years. One night, I had a very bad experience at this store. The female cashier wasnt kind and helpful at all; instead she was arrogant and very rude as well as one of the night staff that puts the merchandise in place. Thats why I stopped going there. No manners whatsoever. It is a shame because there are other great people working there. Store is well organized and sometimes if you look closer and pay attention you find great deals. I would suggest to everyone to know how much you pay for each item because it happens they charge you wrong price and usually more then less.

Always have loved this location but was appalled to find two dogs in the store, on a leash yet roaming the aisle with two youngish males. I was afraid to address the men with my displeasure and so brought it up to the cashier at check out and was told that “he was tired of trying to enforce any rules/policies because the dog owners just curse and threaten him and then do whatever they want” 🥲

I visited this store while on vacation in California. The layout was different, so I had a hard time finding what I needed. Being California, the prices were higher than I am used to. The staff was polite and the store was clean. Produce was fresh with a lot of variety. The check out person wasnt wearing a mask but there was a barrier.

Creepy balloon lady stalking customer outside the store.I went into the store yesterday. Two older ladies were inflating balloons and putting them on display. I checked out a few balloons and left without purchasing anything.When I was at the bagel shop next door, the shop assistant brought my attention to an old lady outside of the shop. She had an uninflated balloon in her hand, and was staring at me angrily through the shop window. It was almost like from some creepy horror film. I asked the bagel shop assistant if she was trying to talk to me. He was confused too. By that time, she left.It took me a while to realize that she might have thought I stole a balloon and followed me outside the store. I hope she can be equally diligent about every customer in the store who is not an Asian woman.

Great Store. The personnel care and take care of shoppers. It is my go to store with good specials, good produce, and good meat. The meat and produce staff are very helpful. The staff that cares for milk, cheese, bitter etc are dedicated.I love that they are aware when things back up at the checkstand, and they do something about it!!! Unlike some of the other stores.It has a Starbucks that I frequent often and the staff here is great too.

Always a pleasant experience I dont think I have ever had a rude sales associate or grumpy cashier once in this place. The floral department is also worth mentioning, I am tempted to bring home a new plant every time I visit. Always stocked with holiday/seasonal decor. They have restrooms available to the public in the rear of the store and heres a tidbit most dont know, there is a few deeply discounted clearance shelves right outside the restrooms worth perusing.

My home store. Staff very nice and helpful, usually have weekly ad deals in stock, The app to load coupon deals to your loyalty card takes (me) a while to get the hang of, so check your receipt before you leave the store and save a return trip if something isnt right. I have to say that the customer service staff are very nice and handle adjustments patiently and courteously... Thank you, Tammy!

Store is always clean and fully stocked. Sometimes the lines get a little long, but they usually do a good job of opening up another check stand. This store tends to be a little pricier then other Vons that have been to and they dont seem to have as many good deals as other stores. However sometimes if youre lucky, you can get good deals on meat.

Busy for a holiday but very organized. I wish all stores followed their checkout process. I was in and out in no time while still following social distancing procedures. I had a very pleasant experience recently at this particular Vons. I needed to send money via Western Union. I have been to various other establishments and the simple process of sending money has become unnecessarily complicated by either untrained, incompetent, or unfriendly staff. I had the pleasure of working with the Assistant Manager Sam.She was fast, efficient, and even with the covid mask on, had a smile on her face the whole time. What has been, quite literally, a 10-20 minute tedious task at other establishments, was a 5 minute(or less?!) walk in the park at this Vons. Thank you for your excellent service Sam:)

Its a Vons. Not the worst Vons Ive been in, but far from the worst. Meat Ive gotten so far has been fresh and tasty. Going to try some fresh veggies later. The Radishes look good though the bunch is a bit small.Missing some items that a larger Vons has like garbage cans and laundry baskets which I needed having just moved in.Meat, though fresh, seemed to lack some variety in the beef/ steak area.

I called the meat department seeking a whole frozen turkey which is, of course, out of season in June! The gentleman who answered immediately, offering a breast only and was able to supply me with the info to locate a whole one. He was spot on. Now I have the resource I needed. Employees have always been very friendly the few times Ive gone to this location. The only thing Im not much a fan of is the location of their Starbucks stand. It has caused human traffic jams at the right-hand (south) entrance, and the people dont always want to move out of the way to let others go by. Otherwise, no complaints.

When it comes to customer service this store lacks leadership. Fortunately it is a grocery store so most get what they need and get out. The mgr is so concerned with telling the staff what needs to be done that they stand in the middle of the isle talking and completely ignore the customer trying to pass by. Not even move over to let me by, i didnt realize that their meeting came before a customer needing to pass. Just a little insight to who is important at this Vons.

This Vons seems to have connections to the best fruit and vegetable suppliers in the area, I guess because theyve been around so long. They also hire physically-challenged staff and we can all appreciate that, too. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Theres a nice Panda Express and you-know-whos Coffee Shop inside too.

This store has potential. Unfortunately, theres a panhandling element in the parking lot that makes me feel uncomfortable at best, and unsafe at worst; I am not comforted by the lots security. Lock your doors and keep your wits about you. The parking lot also features a sewer-ish odor that wafts near one of the entrances. Not exactly what you want to smell before or after buying food. Overall, the staff are friendly, but the meat counter is hit or miss. In general, we go here for chips and soda, ground beef, and occasionally produce. Compared to other stores in the area, this location is oddly overpriced for what it offers, and long lines are a given. With a little attention from Corporate, this store could thrive.

Compared to all the other grocery stores but Ive been to in San Diego County over the past several decades as well as compared to other Vons stores this location seems to be cleaner, better stocked, and better quality produce then comparable standard grocery stores. The produce quality seems equal to other Vons locations but compared to other standard grocery store chains Vons always seems to have much better quality produce. Having recently had the privilege of taking care of both of my aging parents in recent years I was shopping at different Vons locations throughout San Diego County on a regular basis so it did give me fairly good comparison between other Vons stores.

My wife works here and we just found out last night that she is getting transfered to another store for no apparent reason. How is it that we were able to find out something that I believe was supposed to be confidential. Upper management is a joke. They should have provided their teams with company phones, since my wife spent about 1.3 hours a day on her phone due work related purposes. That is 39 hours a month for who k ows how long. That is 468 hours in a year. To put that in prospective, say it was all overtime at $27/hour. X 468 = $12,636 in time spent fir work on her personal phone. Im surprised there hasnt been a Class Action filed.

Im rating here the sushi chef. I know grocery store sushis are not the best, but this Vons should not sell sushi or get a new sushi chef. It is horrible! Using all rice even inside the sushi and barely anything else. The whole sushi is just rice. Cheaping out the fish, crab everything! Looks like somebody rolled it with a tank.

They have a tendency to be out of stock on a lot of things, but a lot of stores in the area do so maybe its just the location? Thats honestly my biggest complaint though, so I guess theyre not bad. I keep coming back after all! Weve gotten a few spoiled foods from them so I do suggest you check your dates before you buy!

Not enough checkouts are open in the evenings.. really long lines sometimes because not enough checkouts.. they too cheap too hire more people? I end up buying a lot of stuff from other places because that line is sometimes just insane. Maybe add some self checkouts.. this is a big grocery store not a mini mart.

I shop at this vons often. the bakery is always stocked with fresh baked breads etc. the prices are ok i always save with my club card. one thing i like about it is its not overcrowded and the staff is always helpful and ask if i need any help finding anything. the only downside is that there is a panda express inside the vons and it always smells like Chinese food thats the reason behind the 4 stars otherwise i love going there.

I have given the Deli Chicken many chances at this location( trust me its this location. Others brings excellent results).They never have all that they advertised. Ive called ahead several times to get there to be told that I didnt callIve even have walked right to the counter and redial the number that took my order and the same person would answer and I would walk to them while still holding the phone and ask if they have my chicken orders and the person would tell me in person whilst holding the phone out of sight they sold out early that morning, try again tomorrow. I would advise them I just call an hour ago and they said they had plenty of the flavor I am interested in.Today really took the cake. The guy who usually set me up with his lies (and Deli magner backs him every time, because she says its impossible for anyone to tell me that when their workers know that they are out of products) told me he can take regular rotisserie chicken and soak it in the Mango Habanero sauce and it will be the same. I watched this incompetent cook take my regular chicken breast and drag it skin side up through a sheet pan of residue of leftover sauce, not even trying to coat the entire chicken.VONS CARLSBAD ON EL CAMONIO REAL....STOP SELLING CHICKEN UNTIL YOU GET PEOPLE WHO CARE!!!!!! When I went to check out, I was told that the Nabisco snack crackers did not include Tricuits, only the wheat thins. The ad specifically said snack crackers . It did not say Wheat Thins. This vons overcharges me 2 of every 3 times i shop there; yeh i buy sale items a lot, but their systems are set up to ring up full retail every time then obfuscate your receipt with gobbledygook the numbers. so you cant decipher the actual prices (i have degrees in math & accounting).the store is usually well stocked and well laid out, clean- earns them a second star.always study your receipt and ask the cashier or customer service desk to splain the screwball numbers on it;it helps to watch the cash register as your items are rung up, and correct as you go

Vons seems to be a little behind compared to Albertsons and Stater Bros and Wal-Mart. What ever you do opt to stay in line. The self check outs here suck and are a hassle to deal with and they take longer than if you just wait in line.
