Went in on a busy Saturday. While in line the person in front of me had problem with one of her iteams not ringing up for a cashier. He called the manager over to assist him. The person buying the stuff was being very rude to both of them . After the manger explain she would not be able to sell the iteam. The women was very nasty and left. I cant believe people think its ok to act/treat people a center way. It was not even her stuff, it was for a order. I want to applaud both the cashier and manager for being nothing but nice to that woman even though she was not. Thats the reason I will continue to shop here. The employee are always willing to help you.

Last week I shopped at Safeway as usual. Then when I was exiting my cart locked and did a backwards push. I had been leaning close to the cart and got my abdomen pushed into. I have physical and trauma issues. When the cart pushed back and hit me, I felt physical pain and shock spread over me. When one of the clerks came over to assist because the alarms went off and my cart was locked, he told me the system had activated because the cameras above had detected my items werent bagged. Meanwhile I felt assaulted by the cart. Also, it seems I was treated as a robber and attacked and punished just based on the fact I had chosen not to bag my items. Safeway had become a preferred store. But with all their anti robber measures they seem to be becoming anti shoppers as well.

This store recently changed their entrances and exits. One side of the store is an entrance and the other is an exit. This means that for disabled veterans like myself, you have to walk clear across the parking lot at least once because you can’t go in and out the same door closest to your car. I feel like this is some sort of violation against anyone with a disability.For now I’ll continue to take the longer trip to the Safeway on pacific because they aren’t being discriminatory.

I live within 3 blocks of Safeway, so it is convenient when I just need a couple items. Their items are somewhat pricey in comparison with the prices I pay at the store where I do my normal grocery shopping. Other than the higher prices I have no complaints.

I had a good experience Here at Safeway Safeway has so much good stuff a lot of good juices and Breads and soups and cakes and vegetables the store is very clean its not too crowded at all its very organized and very clean the employees are very kind and helpful to their customers always concerned if we found everything okay lets just say you want to take Grandma for a nice day of shopping and you want to get her some soup or bread or something whatever she likes Safeway will have it I guarantee it and the store is also very sanitary as soon as I walked in there was a little station cleaning station right there with hand sanitizers to wipe down the baskets and everything also paper towels. This place also has wheelchair accessible parking handicap parking curbside pickup and delivery right at your convenience thank you Safeway on Alpine Avenue I recommend this to every Shopper that is looking for good groceries and good produce Im looking forward to coming here again with my family and friends for another good day of shopping thank you so so much I will post up photos to for you and I also have given you a 5-star review thank you for your kindness have a good day

Had a great experience shopping at this location. Made a stop here from being on the road. I was helped by a woman found an iteam that I wanted. She was able to find it quick and was very nice. I believe she said her name was Gena. Would stop at this location again if I was heading this way again.

Now that they re-engineered the Entrance/Exit floor plan, and the Checkout lanes... I went to change my WIC. I was scanning items on my WIC app to make sure Im getting the correct items when I see a male skinny worker following me in the aisles... Awkward. Also When I finished and was heading to pay there was only one lane open by the over the counter medication and she didnt want to do the WIC.. it was a older blonde lady that was being rude when I was asking her if shes the only line open. She sent me to self checkout? I went but it was weird because I had a lot of stuff for self checkout plus I am pregnant so I just felt the whole vibe was off and scanning all these groceries and making sure they are WIC approved and looking up the vegetables since they dont have a barcode was difficult. I dont work here to be doing all this. Do better Safeway.

This is My Safeway but todays experiment was HORRIBLE.Im disabled, so I often order my groceries online & go pick them up from the store. Today, I went to pick up my groceries and when I got home I noticed that 1/2 my order was missing. And I didnt get the sales price for some of my items. So I called the store to let them know. They confirmed that the rest of my bags were there & the clerk forgot to bring those bags out. I then informed Kyle (I guessing hes the manager) that my pack of chicken was supposed to be buy one get one free but I was charged for both. He ensured me that Id be refunded for the $18.00 pack of chicken. I then went back to safeway to get my forgotten items from earlier. When I viewed my updated online receipt & learned that they refunded my $5 bread & not the chicken that they charged me double for, I was livid. I am extremely disappointed & unsatisfied with the level of service rendered today and I want my refund still. Oh yeah, & the person who brought my groceries out smashed my bread by sitting other heavier item on top of it. I mean....common sense people. Oh, & I just realized that out of 60 eggs, @ least 10 of them were broken.🤦🏿‍♀️ #AnticipatingCompensation

Trigger warning! After debating whether or not I should post this, Im going to because this Safeway is absolutely disgusting for this.A few months ago, me and my parents came here to do some shopping and I had to use the bathroom. Upon entering, I see a young teenage girl whose hair was messed up, half cut, and had debris in it. She had no pants on just a huge sweater, one shoe on, and visible bruises and fresh wounds all over her body. She was silently crying and hiding under the sink. MULTIPLE EMPLOYEES CAME IN AND COMPLETLEY IGNORED HER!!! Turns out she was a 17yo from a different county and she was kidnapped, drugged, and dumped nearby. She was still messed up from the drugs and came to seek shelter in the bathroom. My mom came in to see what was taking me so long and said she was going to let security know about her. I told her dont bother because these close minded a******* werent going to do anything. My mom went to go tell them anyway and they told her THAT THEY WERENT ALLOWED TO CALL THE COPS TO HELP HER AND SHE WAS PROBABLY DRUNK ANYWAYS!!! If you saw the state she was in and considering her age there is no way, also what is the point of having security if they arent going to do diddly squat? Me and some other good samaritans gave her food and eventually got her the help she needed.Needless to say, this put such a sour taste in my mouth and have not been back since.

At this point it’s better to go to Safeway on Pacific, it maybe a longer drive to some but atleast you won’t have to deal with employees low key stalking you throughout the whole store also going through a one way entrance and exit(you’ll know what I mean if you still dare going to this one). Safeway is an upscale shopping experience. It is a beautiful store a little on the pricey side. There is a Starbucks conveniently located inside as well as a pharmacy and deli sandwich and hot food counters. Beware there is an abundance of shoppers now so the lines have been ridiculous lately. Best note: 5 dollar fridays! Always great deals! Oh also there is a Dmv registration automated system kiosk where you can pay your registration and get new tags. There is 2 Atms inside thr front. There is only one handicap buggy left so be prepared....And last but certainly not least wear your mask or be ejected.😷🤗👍

My sister went to the grocery store and as children are her son got a hold of a spice. He broke it by accident . Her son is only 1. I think it’s absolutely absurd that the manager made her pay for it. Some might think that it was appropriate but accidents happen all the time. Stores factor that into overall costs.

Their still going through reworking store. Today, the young blonde cashier was not doing her job .The gril was playing with a male customer in an inappropriate manner in front of other customers.This Safeway is not staffed with enough checkers on most days . It looks to me that this store is on its way to closing down.Today, Feb 26 2018, this store has such rude workers, the more i use this store, the more i see the workers dont do anything for anybody, nor do they do their own jobs (posting pricing and too high of pricing (chicken legs ten for ten dollars -whole chicken $7.99). Their Starbucks staff are so rude and literally ignore you if you order anything extra I’ve tried speaking louder and grabbing their attention but they just look at the floor or the screen and give attitude, second worst one I’ve been to. only great thing is their SUSHI surprisingly one of the best locations for the sushi they have, my favorite is the red rock and it’s so good!

Website says deli is open until 9pm. Showed up at 830pm and the lady behind the counter said they were closed. I think they just wanted to go home. Update. Store management responded to my review and said they would share this with the management team there. Went in a couple of weeks ago when they were about to close. They were cleaning up but they were more than happy to assist me. Looks like they took care of that issue. Thank you.

Cheap gas, clean bathroom, and nice beer selection. The place was packed with last minute Thanksgiving shoppers. I was in a line that would have probably made my beer warm by the time I was through the line, but this employee working the self checkout line, rang me up usually a no no in a self checkout line, but the Angel saved me at least 15 minutes!

On Christmas Eve, some homeboy was letting everyone know that it would take 15 security guards to take him out but everyone should enjoy their mother f in Christmas. A real class act.Its a circus! Safeway always has very good quality foods and my only complaint is the prices. Pruces are a bit on the high side but the quality will match the price you pay for most items. My favorite items usually come from the deli meat and cheeses or from the low carb selection of ice creams that are available. The calm atmosphere and no stress shopping is the best part of being in the store.

I was pleased to find items for special diets that you normally dont find easily. I was also pleased to see cashiers opened with few people in line. This was extremely convenient since I was in a hurry. The cashier was very attentive and cordial. When I arrived, there was someone ready to disinfect my shopping cart for me. An employee named Cassie I think could tell I was confused and right away asked me if I needed any assistance! They are the WORST EVER. Both Stockton stores randomly close an exit and do not put up any signage what so ever. When you ask about it they look at you like you are crazy. I wanted to know the price on a bouquet of flowers. The snotty clerk told me they were all marked and then picked up the phone. They were NOT marked. They had ribbons, but no signs alluding to the pricing. Only saving grace of Country Club Safeway was the bakery. Cute cakes, good service. Will not return if I dont have to do so.

The worst Safeway on the planet. Totally mismanaged. The only cashier working everytime I go there is the pharmacy register with ten people in line cause theres no other cashiers. I have been there many times and left my full cart of groceries there due to the lack of cashiers. Now management has decided to put 6ft. Poles on top of the carts so you cant remove them from the store. Cashiers have to transfer your groceries to another cart without a pole so you can get to your car, all to prevent BUMS from stealing carts. Notice I call them BUMS instead of homeless.

Had a very nice visit to Safeway on Thanksgiving morning. Store was extra busy but everything was still very well organized and fully stocked. The store was clean and the employees there seemed very cheerful. I found the pricing to be reasonable when paired with the club card. The fresh Pumpkin Pie I purchased was PERFECT! they added whipped cream to it at my request! You guys are awesome!

I was there this passed week. Sunday morning 03/21/2021 to be exact. I was throwing a baby shower for my sister and was running behind. So just decided to go to Safeway because I know they usually have good fruit and baked goods. I had my 2 month old baby with me covered in her car seat so you could not see her. I had quite a few items with me an decided to go to self checkout because it wasn’t a line and again I was running behind. I was on the phone and noticed I was first being watched by the security guard. Then I heard on the loud speaker them call for a code 200 (or something like that) and another worker came and stood right by where I was checking out with the security guard. They pretended to have a convo but was really watching to see if I was stealing. At first I didn’t notice because I was on the phone but then the lady (worker) asked me if I needed help out which is when I put everything together. This was not my first time at the store but the first time something like that happened. I can’t even explain how that made me feel being profiled like that. I wanted to say something but I was in a rush, just had my grandmother’s funeral the day before and I just did not want to deal. But because of this, I will NEVER shop at this Safeway again!

It was the lovely Jewels that made my visit recently a PLEASANT ONE 🤗 Normally I’m attentive and engaging with Cashiers (‘across the board’) however THIS PARTICULAR time, my butt was doin’ the most. This Safeway is SUPER GHETTO smh but still I shop there because its close to where I live. The meat department never checks or rotates there meat. Ive seen meat looking gray and discolored out being sold. Thats a lawsuit waiting to happen. The Staff is okay and Security in the Shopping market needs to quit profiling people. Ive seen plenty of times Security follow me around while homeless people come in there and leave with shopping carts full of food. I pay for what I get from this store spending 200 to 300 dollars for groceries. Thats why I always keep my receipt visible so All staff in Safeway including Security can see that I pay for my groceries smh. The management there needs to get there act straight and keep the ship tight at this store because as of right now its a ship steadily sinking. I love the Safeway chain but this specific store deserves ZERO STARS if I could give it that.

Just went for the senior hours for the first time. It was very pleasant--no screaming kids or jarring music. I hope they keep this up after the crisis is over. I didnt get there til 7:30 and it was fairly well stocked and the staff was busy restocking. Plenty of fresh produce and the biggest oranges I have ever seen. Thank you to all the staff for being there for us! Good job!

John, the store manager was very helpful. I purchased a cake from the other Safeway and the cake frosting was sliding down. John spoke to the bakery manager Jose. I was told to bring it in and they would fix it. Which was very convenient for me since I live closer to there location. I went to pick it up, Catalina, one of the cake decorators did a great job, the cake looked as good as new. Jose even carried it to my car for me. They all did an amazing job. Its great customer service like that, that makes you want to go back and shop there. I like to thank all 3 of them for saving my granddaughters birthday party. It would have not been as great as it was without there help.Thank you,A very great full customer

This is my favorite grocery store. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The store is conveniently located off I-5 making it a quick trip from anywhere in Stockton. The produce is fresh and nicely displayed. The meat department has a wide variety of meats. However, if they dont have what youre looking for just ask the butcher. They have done special cuts for me and have also ordered meat for me. The store is clean and well stocked . Stop by and check them out. Im sure youll be pleased!

I had about 30 items and about 4 customers waiting on me. It was a bit nerve wrecking so I charged my self twice on certain things and I had coupons that didnt go through so I was charged full price which was a huge difference. Just then someone walked out without paying and all of a sudden there was plenty of employees to go see who had walked out. Again this was my experience during this visit any other time they have been fine.

This is the worst Safeway in the area, including Lodi. Especially the Bakery department, they never have toys for the cakes they offer. Even worse the bank transaction machine at the register, has been broken for over a year. So if you do get lucky and find a cake(good luck they didnt have the 3 I tried to order)you like and order it, they make you walk to the front of the store to pay for it, then you have to walk back to the Bakery to finish your order. There is a lady there by the name of Kathleen and of course she is working each time I have come. If you got to Safeway for sandwiches you know there’s always a line. I came from out of town 4hrs north of this Safeway and I stopped in to use the restroom which is where I was directed off hwy from gas station attendant. I walked in store and the bathroom was directly to the left plus for not having to go back the store. I walked down a small hallway which directly at end u see the workers locker room then u turn left and there are the bathrooms. The hallway smelled nice like air freshener. However when I walked into the bathroom I was hit by a strong urine smell which I couldve overlooked but as I opened stalls all 3 had toilet seat covers unflushed in them which I assume was due to others not wanting to touch things because all the doors had some kind of sticky substance on them which was really gross. I didnt see any urine in these toilets to account for the smell of urine so I chose the toilet with the most paper and tried to flush but it didnt even attempt to go down which was strange so I went to the one with the least in it and flushed it down then used the restroom. Their was soap and paper towels available and I used the paper towels to open the door amd exit praying the sticky substance wasnt urine 😬. So Im hoping this was a freak one time occurrence for travelers for this store and not indicative as to normal bathroom experiences there. I was kinda appalled with the workers locker room right there less than 4ft away that it wasnt in better condition. Hopefully they were short staffed and I was smelling a kid dirty diaper I still cant come up with a reasonably excuse as to how all over every door was sticky though or why all toilets had seat covers one of which wldnt flush down yet did not over flow. So 2 stars for the benefit of the doubt. Im sure the rest the store is fabulous. My small town has a wonderful store however ours stinks due to a drain pipe in floor so smells like grey mop water all the time. So my advice to Safeway is to concentrate on bathrooms. Wow. Surprisingly, very disappointing. First time to this store. Visiting from out of town. Gave a 2-star instead of 1-star because the kiosk cashier was so helpful. The experience from entrance to exit was lousy. Arrived around 9pm. The entrance we entered was locked closed. No communication or signage. Once in, couldnt find a product and no one around to ask for over 10 minutes. Gave up looking - premade Guacamole usually stocked in produce. Grabbed avacados instead. Fine. Tried seeking other typical items...found but the few items not stocked in regular normal sections. Ran into a customer who complained and couldnt find soup. I guided the poor soul - cause I found that when I didnt need it. Finally went to check out. Two full service cashiers each with longer lines, so went to self checkout kiosk. Had maybe 23 items all together. The kiosk was not functioning properly - the scale would not recognize items placed and even cashier had to keep canceling pop-up messages to allow us to finish. Cashier stated other employees dread the kiosk because of this. So, in brief, no communication or thinking of customers, lack of staff, potentially misplaced or crazy way of placing products thru store, and defective equipment...and team members who arent being listened to. For main stream brand of grocery foods, this store needs new leaders with a positive mind set and how to get things done.

I visited the Safeway on Country Club. This Safeway is not my favorite. The lighting is dim in many areas (the deli, wine and alcohol beverage aisle, the bread and bakery areas and the produce area. I visited this location to use the gas station, the bathroom, and the store on a drive down to LA from Portland. Maybe skip Stockton in general if youre just passing through. We didnt have that luxury, based on wanting to make fewer stops and less frequent driver changes.The security guard in the store is the best-equipped of any security guard Ive seen--and Ive been to the White House. Seriously, this guy had a bullet-proof vest and an untold number of weapons. Ive been shopping at Country Club Safeway for 30 years. The last 3 months I have waited in lines 30 - 45 min. & had to bag my own groceries. I usually shop for about $200.00 every couple weeks. My ice cream has melted soft twice & other frozen items. The other day they only had one register open(15 items or less) I had to get into that line & listen to people gripe that I was in the wrong line. I let everyone know there was no other line open. The line was backed up down the Isle & they started complaining. Finally 1 employee & 1 mngr (Lisa) started cashiering, but that was after I was already being 1/2 way checked out. This is the 3rd time this similar situation has happened to me & others. I went to the mngr. (Lisa) & expressed my concern, all she had to say was, oh Im sorry were suppose to have 4 other employees here but she was not sure why they were not on registers & that she would have to check. Little late. Im very dissapointed in Safeway & will start shopping elsewhere & will spread the word around about their poor service.

Safeway used to be an amazing store known for their customer service, but honestly they are mediocre at that now. Some employees stand above the others and have amazing customer service skills, but thats only a few out of many. Alot of name brand foods that cost more than going to places like SaveMart or Raleys. Best to just skip over this store if you are interested in good customer service and cost efficient items.

I always have a good experience at Safeway. Im upset that the Safeway signature roasted garlic dressing is not sold here, or Dales seasoning(meat marinade) which i love is not being sold there either. I end up having to drive to walmart to get it when i want it then i end up spending $450.00 at walmart while im there. If safeway sold it then i would never have to go to walmart. Oh and they also never have enough people for check out. I end up in a huge line. Im disabled i cant stand for very long so i end up in pain if i have to wait very long. Other than what i meantioned its a great store.

This store is void of enough checkers and managers that really dont care about customer service. Theyll left long lines of customers just stay in long lines with one checker. I would not recommend this Safeway to anyone that has transportation to the north store out on Ben Holt. Today was not the first time that this has happened it is constant. If Safeway cared they would get managers that thought customer service was number one. Either go to the north store Trader Joes Save Mart Raleys where there is customer service

This particular Safeway is the worst of all the ones Ive been to. There are always long lines. Most of the time I have to bag my own groceries or I would never get out of this store - they are that slow. They hardly carry the organic produce that you can find in all the other Safeway stores, and they are always out of the Beyond Meat sausages. Last time I asked a staff if they can please help me find organic potato chips. The staff looked at me annoyed and said: We dont have those. Yet, there are available at all the other Safeways - or any other grocery store for that matter. I dont spend my money at a business that gives me attitudes, and neither should you! #CustomerServiceFail

Sunday at lunchtime and theres no ketchup for the corn dogs, no ranch for the pizza sticks, the Mac and cheese was dry, crusty and cold (what did you have leftovers from last sunday?) Then the sandwich makers.... omg literally were second in line and it took close to 25 minutes for theirs to get finished and out 2 sandwiches to be made. To top it off, youre out of ranch for the first sandwich listed on your menu, and instead of telling us you substitute it for mayo and mustard? And you were out of perperoncinis? Jeez....
