They brought my laptop back to life in the most professional and user friendly way possible. I know, I know, don’t place beverages near your puter. I dropped tea into mine. They put my original hard drive into the chassis of the same model laptop to save me the stress of learning a new computer with tax prep deadlines looming. I still have the old one in case I ever need to scavenge keys or components, without extra cost or searching. Worth it 100x.

The battery on my HP Pavillion laptop stopped charging, so I brought it in to have the it replaced. Scott diagnosed it and also suggested that I upgrade to an SSD drive vs the original hard drive. They replaced, copied and tested both and when I picked up the computer, it was running faster than I ever remember. Highly recommend this shop when you need computer repairs!

If I could give these guys more than five stars I would in a heartbeat. I recently brought in my custom PC dealing with bootup issues to be repaired. Within a day, they were able to diagnose the problem and quickly repair my PC. Scott was incredibly helpful, understanding of my issues, and showed immense care for tackling the issue. I love my HP laptop, and the computer works fine, however, over time, the tiny charging pin inside the computer became defective and it was impossible to charge.I took it to Scott, at Personal Computer, and he was able to order a new pin and make the necessary repair. I am extremely impressed with the personal customer service, the repair done in the time promised, and price paid for a job well done.I highly recommend this local small business!

My computer was no longer working with a weird little message popping up on the screen I could not get around. Went to PCSS and was treated with the utmost courtesy, given an explanation of what could be wrong and what it would cost to fix it. They called me (love phone calls) to let me know what they would be changing out (the battery) and expected day I could pick it up. They were true to their word and I picked it up a day early! I have a 12-year-old workhorse HP 4025 Color Laser printer. I love this printer, but it stopped working for me about 4 years ago when we upgraded, I believe, to Windows 8. In the past 4 years, my son helped me to get the printer working, but it only worked for about 1 week. Personal Computer Sales & Service had to make 3 repairs and clean out a very dirty printer, but they stuck with it, and I am very happily using my old workhorse printer again. Additionally, Juan and Emil charged me very reasonably. i am a big fan of the company and am very grateful they restored my old reliable workhorse that produces such beautiful text and pictures at 40 pages per minute. PCSS is a great firm, and I am very happy with them!

Ive been looking for a computer repair shop with personable and friendly people, and at last, Ive found one! Everyone here is very kind and helpful; I originally came in because I had a stripped screw on my laptop I needed taking out. They helped me out in no time at all -- free of charge even when I offered to pay. Later that day, I came back in for help installing a new hard drive and they were quick, fair-priced, communicative, and transparent throughout the whole process.I cannot recommend these guys enough!

What I like about Personal Computer Sales and Services is there honesty, they know their stuff, and their devotion to give you the best service.I recently had a new notebook updated and everything went really smooth. In the past I brought my notebook in for it would not start correctly. They took a look at it and got it started within minutes and said that it was really nothing and they did not charge me for getting my notebook to work! They also took the time to consult me on which notebook to purchase.Its fortunate thing to have a company that you can trust and also are very knowledgeable. I suggested that friends go to them and everyone is happy that went there !

I was told by my in home IT guy after he handicapped me and business of over 60 days without my pc recovery was not possible. He abandoned me with getting files to reinstalled programs. He installed bootleg software un-know to me until I opened the program with warnings. Never given me an itemized statement of work preformed. He promised Recovery of data from a corrupt drive. Then said it couldn’t be done. I was in tears everything I built for my business was there. HIS backup programs weren’t set up as he said they were. I was really at the end of my rope.I asked around and was give a referral to PCS. It was worth every penny for their professional approach and knowledge. Everything was itemized and verbally explained in simple man’s terms for me to understand. They saved my life’s work and years of tax files and most importantly art files - my business. I had an older Windows 7 laptop that was acting up, with overheating as either a cause or a result. Emil and his team did a thorough diagnostic and then made appropriate repairs to keep the machine going for the extra year or two I hope to get out of it, all for a reasonable price. One month later, the laptop is still working well, so I feel the investment was worth it. Business was conducted in a courteous and professional manner, and they were excellent about giving me updates at each stage of the process without my having to call. I would certainly use them again.

This is the third time I take My computer to this place. One would have thought that that is a bad thing since I need to come more than once, the real reason is each and every time I came was 18 months apart. I think it makes sense to each and every machine we use could use a tune-up once every year at least in this case I took it in once every year and a half. The owner and the guy in the reception was very nice and helpful The pricing was fair, and they acted in the timely manner. I am happy with the service and I would recommend this to my peers and family.

I first reached out to these guys in August of 2019 when I was deciding to either buy a new laptop or upgrade the one that I had. After a consultation with Emil and Scott they said that my computer was in perfect condition but it needed some new computer hardware to make it fast. My issue was my computer was taking up to 5 minutes to start up!!! Grrr.... Besides starting up slow, I loved everything about my laptop! Well fast forward and they got the parts did the service within one day and had my computer back to me. When he turned on my computer it started up within seconds and I could immediately start working on it! I was over the moon! To date it has been working great.I took it in last week to get it checked out because my computer was making a rumbling noise. I went in, they said it was my fan, they checked it out to confirm, ordered the part, brought the computer back and it was done in no time. I didnt have to stress about having it taken care of.These guys are the best and reasonable with price. I have a Dell desktop which broke on me in month of October. I have been working with this computer since 2017. I have more than 600 hours of research locked in an installed program which has been discontinued. I took it to multiple places and best answer I got was I need to buy a new one and trash this one, and even if they can fix it I could not recapture that particular program . That was the best answer I had during five months trying different places. Finally by luck I found this place after six months in month of March . I figured I would give it another try. I took it in on Friday. Monday afternoon I received a call telling me my computer was fixed. I could not believe it. They had fixed it with NO LOSS of information. You can imagine my feeling. I normally dont have time to write reviews, but this one I felt I had to. Scott was the Gentleman who helped me. He was extremely helpful and impressively professional. I loved the service and highly recommend their service.

They went out of their way to accommodate my getting a new computer screen, and the price was very reasonable. Went back shortly thereafter with a cable issue which had nothing to do with the screen, but because it was so soon after the last repair, they didnt charge because they didnt think it was right. I went in to see the problem with my computer screen. Scott took my laptop and did an diagnosis in only a few hours! I had to get a LCD screen replacement and they ordered the parts for me and fixed my screen within a few days. I had a hard drive failure on my work computer and I had to buy new hard drives for it. Within a few days, they were able to clone my 5%-life- remaining hard drive and get the computer running again just the way I had it before it crashed. The price is reasonable. We own an HP Lazerjet 5 and have for a long time. I would have traded it in long ago except it continued to perform like the Energizer Bunny.Until it didnt.Everyone told us to throw it out. Last week my monitor went out and Scott fixed me up with a new one that is light years better -- and installed a new, faster hard drive that is equally so. Unknown hackers got access into my computer programs and vandalized a lot of settings. Even set a password necessary to open my computer, so I couldnt use it at all. I took it into Personal Computer Sales & Service, where they successfully eliminated the password, fixed up my programs, even got rid of a lot of other accumulated rubbish that was slowing it down. Returned it to me better than it had been in years all for a modest charge. I feel it was the best $175 Id spent in a long time!

Absolutely fantastic customer service at a very reasonable price.I needed an SSD drive installed that I had purchased directly from the manufacturer and had already setup with an OS and files. I was going to do it myself but, after opening the case, determine my hands, fingers, and thumbs were too big to work within the confines of the case.I called at about 10:00 a.m. to see if I could get it installed while I waited. Emil was extremely polite and helpful, and after I answered a few questions about the install, the answer was yes if I could come before a UPS delivery arrived.I was there in 15 minutes. Sarkis took less than 30 minutes to do the install. Emil served me coffee and chatted with me while I waited. It was a most pleasurable experience, from beginning to end.I am now happily running my workhorse with a fast SSD drive. I highly recommend Personal Computer Sales and Service in Sherman Oaks.

I came here to fix a fan connector on the motherboard of my MacBook Pro. I wasnt sure if it could be fixed, but Emil did an amazing job and soldered on the broken part within a day for a very reasonable price. I had to bring my PC Back after them replacing my CPU heatsink. My fan in my pc was making really weird noise it was like a crackle sound. So I went on Amazon found the right fan and the right measurement. I brought it to them and they were able to install it for me at really good price. It only took 20 minutes which was very amazing. First rate service. My hard drive failed. I was sure all the data was lost: documents, years of family photos. Last back up was old so I was sure some important records and family mementos were lost. They got my data back on an external hard drive in 48 hours. Ive dealt with a good number of IT types over the years: none were better than these guys, they are real pros. They cant promise success but they will give it their all to try and deliver.

I brought in an older 2010 HP Laptop that has not been used for over year that needed all the Windows Security Updates especially for the Wannacry virus updates and I wanted to be sure Avast Security was working properly. When they opened the laptop, they discovered a really dirty fans. I don’t it’s ever been cleaned since it was purchased in 2010. I really never thought about the fans, but they do need to be cleaned every so often, especially if you have animals. And like all fans, over a period of time, they get dirty and clogged, which is another good reason to bring in your laptop for a yearly maintenance & check-up. What a difference having a clean the fan makes; it runs so much better and faster.I highly recommend guys, they are the BEST computer repair technicians for both PC and MAC!

I was driving down Ventura just after six pm looking for a computer repair store because my computer wouldnt boot up. I knocked on the door and a man greeted me and informed me that they were closed. He asked what was wrong with my computer anyway and I told him that I had just put a new hard drive in my computer and it wouldnt boot up. He calmly scratched his head took a look at me and said come on in let me have a look at it. He introduced himself to me as Emil and after a few days he returned my computer. I purchased a new Dell XPS 8920 at Costco in September 2017. It worked fine until suddenly two weeks ago it didn’t. It crashed. Nothing worked. I couldn’t get it to boot into the Windows 10 operating system. I called Costco Concierge Service. They worked with me to try and regain function. Nothing worked. They referred me to the manufacturer, Dell. Again, I worked with their technician on the phone, repeating most of the measures already tried and failed plus a few additional. Their conclusion: the motherboard had failed, and they would authorize their local contracted certified Dell technician to come to my home and replace the non-functioning motherboard. Within a few days the technician arrived. He ran his own diagnostic analysis of the computer and decided that the problem was not the motherboard, but rather a corrupt Windows 10 operating system. He would restore it to normal.After considerable time and effort, the technician announced that he was unable to restore the OS and would need to reset (reinstall) Windows 10 which would result in my losing all data and programs currently on the hard drive. Since this was unacceptable, I asked for his advice as to other options. He said I could take the PC to a local repairman and see if they could salvage the data and programs and install a new OS.A friend referred me to Emil Hogen, owner of PC Sales and Service in Sherman Oaks, whom he had known for many years and with whom he had had excellent experiences. I contacted Mr. Hogen and he suggested that they could, indeed, salvage the data and programs and install a new OS. Yesterday, I brought my computer home. After re-connecting it and spending several hours checking it out and working several of the programs, particularly the Outlook email client and Adobe Photoshop, I am happy to report that it works beautifully and seems to respond faster than before the crash. Needless to say, I am delighted with the service and results provided by PC Sales and Service and am happy to recommend anyone to them. You will not be disappointed.
