I had an amazing experience with the Alameda, CA store. I called from another location inquiring if Alameda had the item I was looking for. Charles answered my call and personally went to look for me. He found they had 1 left and held it for me as I traveled to this location. He greeted me as I entered the store. I picked up a few other items and got in line. I watched Charles help 2 customers before me. He was so friendly, helpful and funny. When it was my turn I told him he was holding something for me. And knew exactly what it was. Charles is amazing. He not only made my experience great but he also made my day!

I went there tonight after a negative experience at Office Depot in Emeryville.I urgently needed to print some labels for my business.Tatiana was extremely helpful. I really appreciate the helpful staff and the variety of tech I can see and compare in person before buying. I come here for printers and printing supplies mostly (had bad experiences w/ online purchases of those) but find lots of other useful office supplies as well. This store is a great resource. When my laptop cable was damaged, I didnt have to wait for a mail order purchase that might not have worked, I just came here & they found one for me.

Store is filthy! For years, the floors are counters have been neglected- never swept or mopped. Staff is unprofessional and misinformed. The guy at checkout harassed me for my phone number- I told him NO 3 times! The third time he said he wanted it for himself 😳

On a basic level it has everything any other OfficeMax does yet their print department doesnt do a lot of services theyre meant to do. Things that I did every day in the print department Im being told are impossible while Im looking at the equipment used to do it. Corporate doesnt pay their employees enough to care and that really reflects in the way the employees just refuse to work. Hoping corporate sees this and does better otherwise Ill be going to other print departments instead because I dont appreciate being lied to.

The staff at the Otis Street office at Alameda Southshore Center are all consistently helpful, courteous and friendly, and they extend this attitude to one another, which gives the store a positive atmosphere. I want to praise and thank Mee in particular: she has helped me with numerous book projects, and her exemplary knowledge and competence is matched by her patience and courtesy when helping customers. It matters to me that staff treat every person equally well, and Mee manages to do so without fuss or stress, even at the (often) busy times the Print Center. Truly outstanding.

Mae in the print department is so patient and helpful. She always has a big line because everyone wants her attention, and she’s so attentive with each customer. And always smiling and patient even with frustrating customers on the phone. You have to be patient too because this is a busy store and they could use more help for simple orders, but Mae is gem and good at making quality products.

Office Maxx truly has to train there employees better waiting and service qualities to a customer. I find employees refuse to serve,listen or give service. The employees rush and tell a customer I have other customers just can not help you. That is rude. I will think on buying my own printing supplies. Office Maxx is going down. The quality of workers are lazy or forgot the skill of service.

I love the no frills OfficeMax in Alameda. Unlike many big box stores. The employees are smart, know where things are and are very helpful. I find the selection of products is better and cheaper than those of peers store like Best Buy and Office Depot. More importantly, nobody has every relieved me of my catalytic converter, conveniently off camera in the store parking lot, which happened to me at the Office Depot in Oakland-Emeryville.

Glad to have found my products. When Greg the cashier was ringing up my products I noticed a discrepancy in the price. I address it to him only to be rudely interrupt by him without me really stating the case that it was on sale. In the end, the register calculated the correct price and everything worked out. Do not special order anything- you’re better off with Amazon. They kept my money for my special order after failing to get it for me 3x and now are taking their sweet time cutting me a check for the amount, god knows when it’ll get here. On one visit I had my very small dog with me and I was trying to ask an associate a question and she ran away from me screaming because she said she was afraid of the dog that weighs 7 pounds. I found that ridiculous and rude. My dog was leashed and very well behaved. She is a service dog.

I went to the Office Depot in Alameda and bought some printer ink. The sales clerk was terrific but the check was declined by a company Office Depot uses called Telecheck. Apparently, because not enough checks were written on the account, it was deemed risky. It has a lot of money in it but Office Depot would rather pay a third party to use formulas that deem a check is risky. There was no checking the balance of the account. It was S-T-UI-P-I-=D.. I ended up using my personal credit card and reimbursing myself from the same trust account.If Office Depot doesnt want to accept checks, they should say so. This waste of my time having to figure out why the check was denied when the account has plenty of money was definitely irritating. I will not use Office Depot. They have lost my business.
