Update.There are now perpetual license options on the site and an upgrade option as well.ORiGINAL commentI actually bought a copy when they first started up in the 2000s and it was great having an option to Adobe. I bought a copy of Nitro Pro 13 back in 2018 or 19, cant remember which. Time to upgrade it - but guess what, there is no option available to upgrade my Nitro Pro license. I can certainly buy a subscription, but no way is that happening. My company wont pay for it, so ya, no subscriptions. So I got onto their chat - and was told I had to set a 30 minute appointment with sales - soonest was the 11th (today is the 9th). What? So, guys, are you really intending to push people like me to Foxit? Id rather stay with what I am familiar with, but hey, if you are dumping this part of your market, I do understand changing market directions and focus. as much as Id like to stay with you, i wont be staying under a subscription.

Incredibly bad customer service. I bought Nitro Pro 14. It works OK, but it opens a little slow and is very slow to open a second window - default is to open a new document in a tab in the existing window. I look to see if theres an update. There is. I have version 14.14.x.x and there is a 14.18.x.x. How to update? Its a mystery. Some parts of the Nitro site say go to the help pull down menu and choose check for updates - but there is no such option on the help menu of my software. Theres contact support which is pretty funny because YOU CANT EVER CONTACT ANYONE WHO WORKS AT THIS COMPANY EVER.Another place on the website says that the check for updates button that doesnt actually exist doesnt work well and so you are better off just downloading and installing the most recent version of the software. But I also read in complaint reviews about this company that sometimes it results in you getting a trial version and not being able to use your license key any longer and then when you try to ask the company why your PAID FOR LICENSE doesnt work when you merely updated the software within the same version - i.e. newer versions of 14 - nobody will ever respond to you and youre out $150 or whatever.Im going to try to upgrade the software and see what happens.The only reason this company has a business is that Adobe, like Microsoft, has moved to a sharecropper/indentured servitude business model - you will own nothing and pay monthly for the rest of your life. You will pay and if you stop paying, all your stuff will be destroyed and you will not be able to do anything. Someday, your toaster oven and toilet and even your underwear drawer will no longer support that functionality i.e. bread toasting, flushing, opening so you can get your underwear, etc. unless you keep paying monthly.So, Nitro sells a version with a perpetual license. They are trying to move to subscription, but really, if they only offered that, nobody would use it because theyd just use Adobe.They should hire at least one person who is at least minimally competent to provide clear information to customers on the company website about how to update the software. Its just unbelievable that they dont do this. Its a sign that you hate your customers - that you despise them. The idea that you have a few hundred people working there, but nobody will spend five minutes providing clear instructions and documentation about how to update the software is a testament to that hatred you have for your customers.

I recently purchased Nitro PDF Pro 14. I had to file some legal documents that had to be PDF/A compliant. I tried to submit the legal documents using Adobe Acrobat in the PDF/A format. The documents were rejected by the agency as not PDF/A compliant. The only way the documents could be submitted to the agency was to use Nitro PDF Pro 14 PDF/A compliant. Nitro PDF Pro 14 can also be used to create PDF from a file, create and combine files and edit documents. The support staff is very courtesy and answer all technical issues some times by personal email.

Terrible Customer Service - I have been experiencing what I describe as a complete product FAILURE since 9/30/19. Today is 10/18/19 and I am still having the same issue with little to no help. I only get email support at 2:30 AM even though I work a nor 9-5 job. Nitro has FAILED to set-up a Net Meeting for 8 am on Friday even though it was confirmed. Do not believe the Customer Service claims online... I am disgusted that I am paying for VIP access and being treated as if I bootleg version of the software. This is not fair to the end user. So sad that what used to be a great product and turned into one that I will not recommend as an enterprise purchase. This has been a total waste of my time and money.

This company has some of the poorest customer support I have ever experienced. I sent my 1st support request on 11/20/17 another on 11/24 and another on 11/29 today is 11/30/17 and I have had no response. Below is a copy of my last email.I HAVE SENT IN THREE REQUESTS FOR SUPPORT WITH NO RESPONSE This is my third request for help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I purchased Nitro pro as you can see below. My hard drive crashed and I installed a new hard drive and reloaded my programs. I entered the codes below and it said this was already in use on another computer.How do I get this to work????

I bought and paid for Nitro Pro 11. I was told this was good for 2 downloads. Well when I tried to download on the 2nd computer, the software rejected the log in number. SO screwing #1 from these guys. About a year later the software STOPPED working on my original computer and disappeared. SO I tried to get the Company to respond and fix this causing me lots of problems as I urgently needed to convert a document. Despite 5 emails over the past 2 weeks nothing has been done by Nitro to fix this issue. I conclude they are crooks, cheats and clearly have no moral fiber or care about customers. Nitro PDF is DEAD! The company is unreachable...worldwide! The product updates, security patches, general communication and customer service are frozen and are no longer attainable by current and potential customers. It has been that way for many months. This is no longer a company you want to try and do business with.

Terrible customer service and non existent support, as Steven says below. PRODUCT FAIL! Hiccups requiring re-activation, new licences, reinstall, no customer service. This company should be ashamed.

Really bad support. We cant use the program because it does not start at all. (On two new machines!) Support does not respond at all anymore. Dont buy it.
