Trash company.I called for a repair quote... the phone rep wouldnt answer any questions until he took my name, number, email, and address. After harvesting my information, he gave me a canned response about standard rates (very expensive btw), with no info about my case in particular.Afterward, I called Advanced Concepts, another computer repair company here in Redding. They gave me detailed answers over the phone without harvesting my information.Nerds on Call is garbage. They are everything thats wrong with modern American companies. Go to Advanced Concepts instead if you want to be treated like a human being

I had a problem getting on to a site I use every day for my job. my company uses NOC and we pay them monthly for tech support. I contacted them and told them the problem. The tech took over my computer and worked for about 1/2 hour and he said he couldnt fix it and that it was a problem on the websites end. i contacted the website and they said there was not any kind of a block put on my user name. Dead end as always. I decided to look on You Tube to see if there was anything on this or how to fix it. Lo and behold I watched a 5 minute video and I did it myself and took me 15 seconds. What am I paying these people for??? Time to find a new IT company.

On the one hand, in a small town its helpful to have a computer chain to repair things apart from Bestbuy.However, its difficult to overstate how awful this branch is. Ive had to bring my PC into them three times because of problems I never had with any of my previous systems. And each time the systems performance has gotten progressively WORSE.Yet when I inquire about the intricacies of whats wrong, I got either generic answers or something long winded that absolutely didnt address anything.Lastly, their monthly support is both basic and expensive. Each time Ive tried to use it, Ill be offered maybe two ideas and then told I need to go into the shop and pay quite a lot for the system to just be looked at. Three times what Im accustomed to paying in the past.Overall I wouldnt recommend this place. At least this location.

I requested an *at home service call* from Nerds on Call. Best experience ever! I have prior computer experience myself. I was a computer systems administrator 20 years ago but the tech industry has changed tremendously and I needed help! Miguel was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and thorough. I can tell when someone knows their business! He was fast too. Miguel took less than 30 minutes to fix my specific issue but he spent the next 30 minutes fixing various other issues which was highly appreciated! I will definitely call Nerds again!! (We live in Cottonwood out in the boonies and his 25 minute drive one way was a $59 trip charge which was reasonable to me (so basically an hour round trip). Then it was $179 for an hour of service). Completely satisfied!!

The IT tech was friendly and professional but at the end of the day didnt know any more about the systems and problems than I did.I was very specific with their office what I needed, the tech even called me before showing up to clarify what I needed. He spent most of his time trying to find answers to my questions on google. If I wanted to spend $150.00 for an IT conversation, I would have bought a ticket to an Apple convention. The Tech admittedly explained that what we need is over his head to his supervisor, but the supervisor didnt budge on the price... My suggestion is if your looking for a business solution for complex IT issues.. These guys are not your ticket.Post review: The store manager has since reached out to me and issued a partial refund. As a business owner myself I feel that every company should be judged not by their mistakes but how they treat their customers after the mistake has been made. Mik took the time to explain that their company has more advances techs available in higher traffic cities and in the future might be able to help. Although this didnt solve my original issue, I hope this feedback will enlighten the next customer.

Took my laptop here and the person who helped me really went the extra mile on multiple occasions to make the process as smooth and quick as possible while still doing an incredible job. He was very knowledgeable and when I got my computer back, it really was like brand new. The experience left me with a lot of confidence that if I ever need help with anything computer-related, I can come back to this location and get thoughtful help from people who enjoy what they do and treat my stuff with the same care that I do.

My laptop crashed on me and I had numerous files that I need for my small business. I went to Best Buy to see if I could get it taken care of, and after about 20 minutes of being in line, an associate walked over and asked if I had an appointment. I did not. I was informed that the next appointment was more than a week out. I found Nerds On Call. I was able to walk in and immediately be helped. They were not only able to retrieve the files for me, but they saved my laptop. I was so blown away by the service I was half tempted to go back to Best Buy and tell the people standing in line to just go to Nerds On Call. Not only did they fix the issue, it was affordable, and they handed my laptop back to me cleaner and nicer than when I brought it to them. THANK YOU!!!!

1/13/23 Took my laptop down to Redding again today to meet with one of the managers, Nick. Wasnt really looking forward to it after all the hassle. But Nick was amazing, went above and beyond any expectations. He was kind and understanding. He personally looked at my computer and offers his best opinion. I had already ordered a battery and he offered to replace the power port at no charge and install the new battery when it comes. He also offered a full refund and a few months tech support if I needed it. Completely blown away, fully expected to be told oh it’s not our fault. Whatever they are paying him it’s not enough. Changing rating from 1 to 4 stars based solely on his attitude and willingness to make the situation right.1/12/23Was super bummed, no reply from manger. They called to confirm apt for tomorrow and I told them wasnt bring my laptop in if their manager couldnt even be bothered to return my call. Nick called back within a few min. His high level of customer services is what I had expected from the beginning. He said hes not the manger of the Redding store but that he would personally look at my laptop tomorrow and see what was up. He agreed that it shouldnt have been given back without starting correctly. He said to bring it in and they would check it out and see whats up at no charge and go from there. This was the response I was looking for not telling me Id be billed more just to bring it all the way back to Redding.1/8/23Went with this company since I wanted to support a local shop and not a big box store like Best Buy. I was impressed someone was actually online when I went to chat about an appointment. I looked at reviews and company seemed great. I usually work on my own computers but just wanted my laptop up and running for a job I had the following week. They seemed great.Took my laptop all the way to Redding...1.25 hr drive each way. There was something shorting out in the screen, told them there was nothing wrong with hardware or software. They called me 3 days later, said it was a pinched cord and it was all fix. They claimed they ran diagnostics on it and everything was running great. They tried to upsell me on a tune up which I declined since the computer is new and hardly been used. Drove another 1.25 hrs each way to pick it up so I could use it for work this week. Again they tried to upsell me.Got it home and tried to start it up a day later. Had all kinds of issues. Dell Diagnostic came up, wanting to run. Bios said there was an error OS_Boot_Failure. Finally got it started and realized it was running off charging cable only and battery wasnt charging at all. How can they give a computer back, claim it’s all good and that won’t even start up?!I sent them a chat and a very nice but unhelpful guy called back. He seemed to know nothing. Said he could remotely access my laptop. It was in the middle of Dell diagnostic so asked him to call back in 30. He did but then said oh hed have to charge me more for remote help! Said his manager told him after looking at my note my only option was to bring it back in and have them take a look at it. Super frustrating since now I dont have a laptop for work and need to spend a bunch more money running it back down. Got a call back a bit later, was hoping they were going to make it right but it was just same guy saying since Id ONLY paid $99 they would charge me to look at it again! To fix a problem they created!! Completely stunned. I feel like Ive been scammed. Absolutely the worst customer service Ive seen in a long time. All they care about is the money. I said that was not acceptable and wanted to talk to a manger. Guy on the phone said Nick was manager’s name and apparently he wasnt in but will call me tomorrow. I’m assuming he’s the same manager that looked at my notes today and told guy to upcharge me to look at it again.Hoping they make it right but so far nothing but negative feedback on this company.

I called them and they were professional and courteous and did not talk down to me as most computer people think they must dumb down the conversation, as if you dont know anything. Not the case with these guys.On top of that, they were knowledgeable. Not just acting if they know and throwing a bunch of computerese at me, it is obvious they went to college for this field and put their education to use.They all treated me very respectfully. They had respect for my time as well as my need to get my computer back in a timely manner. They needed a week but had it back before one week and fully functioning again, only better. They gave me a one month guarantee in case other issues arose. They would have addressed those accordingly. They went above and beyond to make me happy.These guys know what they are doing. They care about their customers very much, something that is all too often lost in the shuffle of making the almighty profit. I would highly recommend their services for anything computer related!

The plus is that you dont have to lug your computer in... they can do it remotely!!Although I had no problem getting my printer to connect to my computer... Everytime I use this firm, they impress..All the Credit goes to Steve C in Sacramento. I was having a terrible time trying to get my tower to recognize my View Sonic Displays, using a Digital Connection.In less than an half an hour, Steve C. had me disconnect all cables, etc. and reconnect with my Monitors Digitally. Took me more time to do all the connections than it took him to tell what to do. Prime Service.This was my second experience with Nerds on Call, and it turned out just like my prior one. Im trying to get an ear bud repaired and dude told me they dont solder anything for less than $180. What a joke. I found another local company thatll try to fix it for $40 and if they cant, they said I can pay them whatever I feel is fair for the effort. Thats good business. This place sucks.

Nerds On Call has given my computer new life, I am so impressed with what they did and how my computer has responded. I have a 2011 MacBook Pro that had gotten to the point where the operating system would not update and I began to have applications on the computer that would no longer work. They were able to get my computer updated as well as cleaned up. Took some malware off the computer and things are now working great. I am pretty sure I now have another two years before I will need to replace it. Nerds really know what they are now my go to folks for computer help.

I want Darius to move next door to me. Whenever Ive need help, he has been there (so have others) and everything gets fixed. I dont completely understand how they know what to do but they never fail. I am completely sold on Nerds On Call. Whenever I get hacked or something weird happens, I call and they fix it. The people who answer the phone are polite and listen - actually listen! So do the techs. Im an older user (heck, Im 67) and I am respected and treated very kindly. Using the computer to me is like driving a car. I can drive a car but I have no idea why it works. Thats me and my computer. I dont panic, though. Nerds On Call is my go to. If you invest in one thing, invest here. This is the best money I ever spent on my computer. I wish my car had a service like this!

Reluctantly, I started an online chat session with Nerds; I could not get images to post on a Craigslist ad. I say reluctantly because many times Ive lost patience with slow and interrupted service. But today I forged ahead. To my shock and surprise, after I closed the session due to intermittent connection failures with the Nerd service technician, I received a call back from Jeremy. I had a professional and helpful exchange with excellent outcomes. Not only did Jeremy resolve my ad images problem, but he also addressed a concern I had with another totally unrelated glitch that had plagued me for some time. Jeremy was extremely competent and knowledgeable regarding issues that fell outside the normal help desk arena. I am tremendously impressed with the service from Nerds. Thanks.

My first experience with the Nerds On Call was spectacular--beyond expectations. I had an adware mess that blocked my screen with pop-ups and an error message that told me to reinstall a dll that I could not touch. Sam C. fixed it in record time and then tackled the missing camera Id never been able to access since I bought this high powered gaming computer. Got an error message when going thru boot up, couldnt resolve the issue myself, got in touch with the nerds, they said to bring it in. Found that the hard drive was toast, so had a new drive installed and well I am now using my computer again. YEA! Gotta love your nerds!. Having a small issue now and have them online with me working on the problem. Have to say they are tenacious and will keep working until it is resolved. Great job and kudos to all involved.

Recently I took our old Windows 8 computer into the Redding store. It was our main office computer and it had a software program in it that was put there years ago and was not support via the internet. It had years of invoicing in it. Not only did they safely transfer all our info into the new computer, they went the extra mile and saved all of our information. I didnt think it was possible but they made it happen. Super ***** for all of them. They worked quickly and were very kind and helpful to myself who is not computer savvy at all!!

Very fast and professional computer repair and service. It is typically more difficult to fix hardware issues on laptops compared to desktop computers since it requires you to take them all apart, and laptops are not as simple. But they were able to clean out my computer fans, re-do my thermal paste, and fix an issue where my screen stopped functioning in 2 days.Overall very happy with the service and quality. When my computer came back to me it was so clean I thought they just swapped it out for a new one. It looked brand new. I never even asked them to clean the outside of the computer before they returned it to me, but they did it anyway which shows that theyll go the extra mile before returning it to you. So that when you get back your brand new-looking computer it can look like they did a good job on the outside as well as on the inside. Thank you.

I have needed to call for help several times. Every time they respond quick. I mean quick like within 5 or 10 minutes, they are on and into fixing the problem.They are polite and take time to explain any questions you have. It is the best insurance you can have for a computer.Rick is the guy I have dealt with the most, But I Highly recommend any of these guys.Here it is about 3 months since I wrote the above report: I went on line with Firefox this morning (9/11/2019) and within a few minutes everything started running real real slow. After a few minutes I get a pop-up window saying Firefox has crashed. I called the Nerds and after working on it for about 1/2 an hour, everything is back to running great.So nice to have piece of mind that no matter what happens, I can just make a phone call and with in a short time my computer is back to running great.

Whenever I have a computer glitch I cant solve, I just click the Nerds icon, tell them the problem, answer a few questions, and then go away. Mac helped me with my laptop. I have been frustrated with the slowness of it pretty much since I bought it, and it wasnt cheap. He determined that I needed a new hard drive, because the one in it, lacked the capacity needed to hold additional programs and information. My laptop went from a Ford Pinto, to a Cadillac Escalade!!! It is unbelievable!!! I used to work for this company and they are horrible people. I got paid worse than the pizza guy at minimum wage making 30 cents a mile. Customers rarely tip as these rates are insane. A computer that needs a tuneup will run you $229 for something that takes less than 2 hours of work. The software used at this company is free and open source so anyone from Craigslist can do the same tuneup for a lot less. If Nerds on Call tells you that a part needs to be replaced, go and buy it yourself as their price markup is 2x newegg. Nerds on Call has taken the easy route and merged their accounting and repair locations into one small building making for a terrible work environment. Working for this company I can say that this was the worst job of my career as I literally was treated as garbage and starved while working there. If you are good person do the right thing and do not go to Nerds On Call.

Very professional. I had dropped my laptop and ordered replacement pieces only to find out that replacing those pieces was a little more intricate than I thought. They charged me their base price and didn’t up charge me for bringing my own replacement pieces! They even ran diagnostics for the whole pc just to make sure the outer shell wasn’t the only thing that cracked with the fall.I’m very satisfied with the work they did and they were very communicative about how my pc was doing while it was in their shop.
