Ive been a System Mechanic user for over 20 years, and in that time their utilities have rescued my various computers from any number of issues from major to minor. SM has always been my go to program that finds what other programs often miss, and over the years Ive tried a number of competitors; none of them compare to System Mechanic! Thanks!

Just as someone else has mentioned on here…… iolo (as realdefense llc) has begun a predatory practice of signing their customers up for a recurring charge for a “tech support” add-on to their system mechanic app. I have been a patron of iolo system mechanic for so long (I estimate 15 years) I have forgotten when I originally purchased it. I have even talked family and friends into it. No more. After finding out 3 months in that you have been deducting $20 a month for a service I had no idea I signed up for I will make sure you never get another dime. One of your customer service agents accidentally let it slip that this was bundled with my system mechanic renewal. NONE of your customer support agents would do the right thing for a “valued” customer (apparently your company no longer values longtime customers) and simply admit you had made a mistake then refund the 3 payments which you mistakenly assumed it was okay to apply towards my account. I’m not done, since your CSRs were so insensitive I’ve filed a dispute with my bank for fraudulent charges, I’ll be reporting this to the FTC for wire fraud, and I’ll be adding to the BBB’s already lengthy list of complaints filed by the legion of people you’ve already done this same thing to. It’s a shame because I really liked system mechanic.

Though the product is wonderful, they have engaged in PREDATORY business practice towards this visually and medically challenged septuagenarian, I have purchased upgrades and antivirus updates on an ANNUAL basis for many years, yet the last time they auto-renewed via PayPal neither PayPal nor IOLO informed me that WITHOUT EXPLICIT AUTHORIZATION THEY FRAUDULENTLY CHANGED MY SERVICE TO A MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION MODEL which is SIX TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE on an annual basis than before. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SIGN UP FOR and do NOT auto-renew!

After some time to investigate the issue the technician finally pointed out that my system had been corrupted and that it would be to m y benefit if I simply reset the operating system. At this point I have done just that. The technician had left me the appropriate URL for the System Mechanic Ultimate Defense which I have now installed and the system is now working as I had expected. All is well. I have been with Advanced Tech support, now US Tech. support for several years now... I am a disabled, widowed female, of 71 yrs. and climbing. And I live alone. My laptop is my connection to the outside world. I have everything delivered; I take care of all my bills. I play games for entertainment. Us Tech support keeps my world running smoothly. And the best part is, I can call them at 3: am. They are always here for me...I would recommend this Co. to anyone.

Roderick was amazing. He knows how applications wiggles their way into the operating system, but he still had to work at it. He was able to find why Windows defender wouldnt install. He kept at it for 2 hours, working hard. I have to applaud him. He got it done and I am very happy with it. In the first scan Windows Defender fixed more than 19,000 problems with my system.

I only wanted System Mechanic basic, Software worked as expected.I got an email saying I was getting charged $20 a month for tech support unless I upgraded to ultra. They automatically bill you for tech support no one really needs. I did not see this when I first purchased the software. You can cancel auto billing...just an FWI

I have had system mechanic for a number of years. The software is constantly popping up with advertisements for additional products or time for your subscription. Hoping to avoid the constant harangue of advertisements, I upgraded for a reasonable additional charge. I now how 698 of service remaining.This morning I received a email with a receipt for $19.95 + tax for a Live Tech subscription.It took me 2 calls and a online chat to get the charge reversed. The companys representatives, in my opinion, repeatedly lied about the ability to refund. They repeatedly denied my request to speak to a supervisor. And in my opinion were rude, blaming me for a bad phone connection, when the at home rep. was banging pans in the background.Save your money, and sanity, and please use another company!

Extended my System Mechanic for another 3 years. Had a pop up that would not go away. Technicians tried to call me several times to set up a time to work on my computer. I set up a 3:00 p.m. central time on 7/14/23. He called me right at that time. Went into my computer and did a complete scan and clean up. Was able to resolve my pop-up problem. Technicians name was Roderick Dela Pena. He was awesome!! Have already referred IOLO to a friend who is having problems.
I was scammed 11 days ago when someone called me from Comcast and said my modem was not working properly. He was a fake (employee) and I mistakenly gave him access to my computer. Afterwards I discovered the scam, contacted my bank to put a hold on all my accounts and contacted US Tech Support. They cleaned my computer of any intrusions and installed My Clean ID to protect me going forward. Today I changed my password with Comcast, my email provider which interrupted the receipt of emails by my computer. Once again, I called US Tech support and they were able to resolve the problem. I have been a customer of ATS since May 2016 and US Tech ever since they took over in 2021. They have never let me down with my computer or printer issues.
The technician who helped me install a program on my old laptop was very professional, knowledgeable, patient and helpful.I would not hesitate to recommend this service to anyone.

Iolo taking advantage of people through auto renewal. Given no advanced notice (despite them telling me I should have received an email. Contacted one day after renewal to cancel and get refund. They cancelled subscription but kept my money. No money and nothing to show for it. Stay away and use a more honest and reputable company with integrity. Disgusting behaviour. Customer service agent Victor Shaw was a prime example of not being empowered to satisfy a genuine customer complaint.
Laptop camera had suddenly stopped working. Camera app said no camera was found. Contacted Tech Support and the problem was solved in about 15 minutes. Tech support just saved me a lot of time and frustration.

System Mechanic free version helped me streamline my PC from a wait-all-day for applications to open, close and function to a well oiled speedy PC. However, when the free subscription ran out, I bought it for a year and have been plagued with popups from System Mechanic that try and entice me to upgrade. These popups are annoying, are on my computer a dozen times/day and Im beginning to consider System Mechanic malware to me. In short, good software with annoying continual popups.

This company is bogus...do not order anything from them!1. There software does not work consistently and will eventually fail.They will not give you your money back and keep charging you even without renewal!2. Once you have made a purchase you cannot get rid of them even if you notify your card company ...they have a way of charging you anyway once you have made any purchase!3. I called them again after I found another bogus charge and they lied and said it was removed.4. My card company says they cannot stop them unless they cancel our cards and get new cards.5. Guess what we got new cards with new codes and they still hacked us!
I have been with Iolo for several years now, and I renew with them each year. After having an issue with a program installing on my computer, customer service was able to get back to me (after another rep wasnt so helpful), and they made everything right. System mechanic will go through a clean your computer and make it faster and more efficient. System Shield is an internet security product and although I had trouble installing in on my ACER with Windows 10, maybe other folks may have some better luck.

Ive used System Mechanic for many years, and I loved it for much of that time. However, over the past year or two it has become a UI nightmare, and based on the app changes, I no longer recommend it, trust it, or trust the parent company.

System Mechanic Pro and Iolo Premium Services worked flawlessly for several years. However, lately some dll file was missing and Iolo Premium technicians could not repair the problem, so issue was accelerated to an advanced department . I waited 2 months for that department to contact me as I was told I could not contact them. When they finally contacted me, after 10 hours, I was advised they could not correct the issue and would call back after more research. I have heard nothing more since then. I have tried to reach Iolo in Pasadena, CA several times to no avail. Expensive service that did not work!!!!

Sneaky -- went to renew my long time subscription to System Mechanic and they added this extra service for free for 30 days. Then auto-billed. Could not get refund for unneeded service nor could I get System Mechanic without the extra service. Avoid this company -- untrustworthy. Have uninstalled System Mechanic on all my PCs.
