I rarely write reviews, but this one deserves its applause.I have had the pleasure to work with Nicole and Austin in developing a web site for my photography.From the outset, they have shown the mark of professionals and the patience needed to work with a novice. They created a site well past my expectations.... refined, sharp, classic, timeless. We are so happy we chose Nicole and Austin for our engagement pictures in Big Sur, CA! They are incredibly talented, creative, and professional and we had such a fun time with them throughout our shoot. They captured the beauty of the California landscape we love perfectly and we appreciated how shooting with two cameras caught a lot of the sweet moments and glances. Nicole got the edited pictures to us quickly and we even got a preview that same day so we could share with our families! We appreciate their vision, their creativity, and for making both of us feel so comfortable. We will treasure these photos forever!

I do not know what we would have done without Nicole and Austin! Through rescheduling due to the massive fire on the coast, and our wedding date changing twice, they were never short of friendly responses and tons of laughs. They captured the most beautiful pictures of us (and we are not photogenic), and made the photo shoots a blast. If you are wanting someone to make your wedding day a little extra special, you have to have these two wonderful people be your photographers!

Nicole and Austin are the absolute best! They photographed our October wedding in Pebble Beach and we couldnt have asked for better. They managed to capture all the happiness and goofiness, and made us feel so comfortable even though wed never taken professional photographs before. It was like having great friends take the photos! There was a huge rainstorm right after our beach ceremony, and they captured all the wind and rainclouds and made it unforgettable for us. We are so grateful they were a part of our wedding and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Nicole and Austin were great. I came to them to develop a website, that included commerce and a logo. The site was for my daughter, Jamie Mitchell, who is a boxer.I have to admit, I knew nothing on how to approach the project. Nicole and Austin were great in asking pertinent questions on the goals of the website and bringing in their expertise to attaining those goals. They included a budget that was reasonable and worth the value I was able to invest.I was able to get the site up and moving. I felt comfortable admitting I needed help in knowing how to best optimize the site, and, their logo designed was appreciated by other boxers who admired the design Nicole and Austin developed.There are some other famous professional boxers who admired how Nicole and Austin incorporated the infinity symbol with boxing gloves and the name, Prevail Athletics. If its your heart and soul project, go with people who will help you with theirs, Nicole and Austin.

If you’re someone who is trying to start a business and have no idea where to start this is the team you need! I was looking for a local graphic designer to create me a logo. I started doing my research and clicked on their website and I was blown away. We spoke on the phone and pretty much told that I had no idea where to start and after having one sit down with Austin and Nicole there was instant relief off my shoulders and gave me motivation. They understand where I was coming from not only did they create a logo that I’m super excited about and unique. They gave me so many pointers for my business so that it can grow efficiently. They were so helpful especially because I am not good with computers at all and Austin was very patient with me. He would walk me threw steps over the phone since I wasn’t really good at navigating a computer and didn’t make me feel like an idiot. Making sure I set up my business the right way. They will be designing me a website when my business has grown.I know some people will say well I don’t have the money for all there services. It’s okay they will work with you and can do it in phases cause they understand that your company has to grow. They know where you’re coming from and understand the grind it takes to make it in this world we live in today. I won’t use anyone else they were so helpful it feels good to have them in my corner!

Yellow Brick Road has been collaborating with Barkis & Co. on the redesign of our website and branding. We have found in the past that it has been hard for us to participate in a creative vision with a designer but Barkis & Co. has been very open and accommodating.We spent some time together so Yellow Brick Road could describe our vision and since then Barkis & Co. has been delivering what we were hoping for. Any concerns we have brought up they have been one step ahead. We just received our first draft of our new webpage and we can see where their talents lie! Very little of the draft site needs to be tweaked and the design and aesthetic are perfect! They have put together a Website we are proud of.Next we are working on creating a continuing relationship with Barkis & Co. to have an on going maintenance of our site, social media, marketing, SEO, etc. All the details that Barkis & Co. have paid attention to have really made a difference so far in our business and exposure to the community.

When I booked Nicole and Austin for our elopement style wedding I didn’t realize that I was truly getting the most talented and down to earth team of photographers. Traveling from out of state I was nervous about picking someone I had never met before, but they immediately put our minds at ease on our wedding day. They work so well together and it honestly is inspiring to young couples like us.Austin even married us, making our day even more special than it already was.When I received our pictures a couple weeks later I was completely taken away. Seeing all their work come together into one album was breathtaking. I have gotten so many compliments saying they should be in a bridal magazine! Nicole and Austin are truly a dynamic duo. We feel so incredibly lucky we were able to book them as our photographers for both our engagements and small wedding ceremony/reception. Our photos are GORGEOUS. They look like they belong in a bridal magazine. Nicole and Austin really have the eye for the journalistic style of capturing couples in their natural state. Nicole and Austin are amazing to work with. I contacted them about 4-5 months before a surprise proposal for my girlfriend in Yosemite. They were very responsive and came up with many great suggestions and things to consider for the moment. We had a date change and also ran into a heavy storm that day. Nonetheless, I am very grateful for them for pulling through (I did not expect them to, since the storm looked pretty gnarly!) for the drive, the setup, and the actual moment. We went to a nice waterfall afterwards for pictures, but because of the storm it was quite an event. Austin braved through the waters with just boat shoes! They were very easy to work with and personable. No pressure at all!I am very happy to have contacted them and worked with them. My fiancee loved the proposal and she absolutely loved the photos. They came out gorgeous and Nicole and Austin were great with their timeline. I would definitely recommend them.

They took the time to get to know us and our personalities, and helped our unique (and goofy / quirky!) details shine through in the best ways in all their work. We so enjoyed the opportunity to have a mini engagement photo shoot with them, and the up-front time spent with Nicole and Austin made us feel super comfortable with their instructions and presence on the day of our wedding.Speaking of the day of the wedding, the Barkises went above and beyond to help get us to and from our Ceremony venue (a beach just south of Carmel), and overall they captured many of the small, special moments and details that we might otherwise have forgotten about amid the chaos. They took control when needed to help wrangle our families for post-ceremony photos, and otherwise kept their presence minimized while still providing comprehensive coverage throughout the day and evening. I can’t express enough how much I appreciateNicole and Austin being our photographers for our elopement. From the start to finish they were so much more than photographers. Since we’re not local to Big Sur we were grateful to be able to rely on Nicole’s recommendations for location and ceremony time, and florist.Upon meeting them on our wedding day, they had such a calming energy that really put our nerves at ease. Both my husband and I are uncomfortable getting our pictures taken but they really made it a fun experience. They were so positive and seemed genuinely excited and happy to be doing what they do. They honestly made our day feel so special.Nicole told us that she’d send some sneak peaks but we were shocked when we received then within an hour of them leaving! They were beyond beautiful. It felt surreal that after following their incredible photos Instagram that these were actually ours. Everyone that has seen our pictures can’t believe how beautiful they are, that they backgrounds don’t even seem real because it’s so beautiful. I can honestly say that we couldn’t be happier. Both my husband and I have gained a significant amount of weight and we’re worried we wouldn’t like our wedding pictures but they were so great about finding the best angles and poses for us and directed us to hold my bouquet in certain places to get the most flattering pictures.We’ve already discussed going back up there for an anniversary and would love to work with them again.

Nicole and Austin are an absolute dream, DREAM to work with. First of all, we met up for coffee to discuss my vision for the wedding. Having never planned a wedding (or been terribly interested in planning one), I didnt have much of a vision, but once I saw her gorgeous photography, I knew that was what I wanted.Nicole was super responsive leading up to the wedding, and was always available via email or text if I had any questions. She was also reassuring; we planned a beach ceremony and I was concerned about Montereys unpredictable weather. She told me that sometimes overcast days can make for the loveliest photos, to not be afraid of rain (also makes good photos), but that sunny days are great too. She made me comfortable that she would be able to capture our day no matter the conditions; I think an exact quote is, Ill do pretty much anything to get the shot.Technically speaking, Nicole and Austin are great. They had me give them a list of shots that I wanted (family ones in particular), and they made sure to capture all of them. They are AMAZING at blending in with your family. One of the biggest compliments we got from our guest was how they are great photographers, but also how nice they were to chat with. Everyone had nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Even the parents loved them!! They are also extremely competitively priced and turn your photos around far more quickly than you would think possible.On a personal level, such kind, caring and talented people. Bless Nicole for being such a calming spirit while I was getting ready. As someone who never expected to get married, I was a nervous wreck the 1-2 hours before my ceremony. She kept me as calm as possible and kept telling me that as soon as I saw my (now) husband, I would be fine. She was absolutely right.I cannot say enough good things about this amazing pair. Ah! I almost forgot, the most important part! Her photos are breathtaking (as if you didnt already know this from her galleries). As someone who is super uncomfortable in front of the camera, she made me feel extremely at ease, but more importantly, I looked comfortable in the photos. The sunset photos she and Austin took are gorgeous and dreamy; although Ive only seen a few, I cannot wait to see the rest. Please please please, hire this amazing duo. I just received the pictures from Barkis & Co. today, and I have to say that Im thrilled! My husband and I were lucky to have Nicole and Austin do our anniversary/vow renewal session. Despite pouring rain leading up to our shoot, we got a full set of amazing pictures. Most importantly, my husband, who HATES having his picture taken more than anything, did not have a single word of complaint!! Nicole and Austin are the kind of people who instantly feel like friends, who are super relatable while being super professional, and who not only made us -- some pretty unphotogenic people -- feel great, but look incredible, too! The entire process with them felt like a really fun adventure.Also, we werent able to go to some of the places we planned to due to flooding. However, Nicole and Austin are very familiar with Big Sur, and picked some really gorgeous alternate locations, so we werent even disappointed! My fiancé and I just got back from our Adventure Package with Nicole and Austin and we are absolutely gushing! I thought I was familiar with the Big Sur coast (its one of my favorite places to be, ever) but Austin and Nicole show you an entirely different side of Big Sur / Monterey / Pacific Grove that makes them absolutely come alive. This was really two birds with one stone, because we got to see this area through the eyes of locals - an amazing opportunity for us SoCal kids!They picked us up and drove us through the Pebble Beach coastline to take some initial photos, and then they took us to lunch at Caffe Trieste (AMAZING, by the way). After that, we hit Highway 1 and drove south. They brought us to their favorite spots, and we talked and laughed the entire time! I am relatively self conscious and struggle a lot with body positivity, and Nicole and Austin made me feel so beautiful, and like I was hanging out with friends instead of at a photoshoot.They are such artists and it really shines through in the shots they take that reflect the romantic feeling of the picturesque Big Sur coastal redwoods, beaches, and rivers. We saw deer, people watched, and even saw whales right off shore! They did not hesitate to stop to show us something awesome (and snap some photos in the meantime). They really are incredible professionals that make you feel like old friends in a matter of minutes. We were so blessed by them today, and I cannot recommend the Adventure Package enough! Really wish that I could say we had a good experience. I had decided over 2 months ago that we wanted to use Barkis & Co. to do or engagement photos. I reached out via their website to try to schedule pictures and received no response and then tried again 4 more times and even sent a text to the number that they provide. Nicole responded one time and said they had openings and then has not responded to me since. I completely understand being busy but this is just unprofessional. If you want someone who will make you feel like your time is important, I would look elsewhere.
