They have a wonderful location with a lively bar area and wonderful views of the water ways and Mare Island. The food is always dependable, but not spectacular. But with that said I have been here many times and will go again. The service is always great. They’ve got a wonderful group of folks working there. It’s a great spot to dine at before or after getting your wine fix at Vino Godfather on Mare Island.

We had a great view by the water. Food was delicious. Nice ambience. I had the Chicken Parm...and my husband had Gnocchi Pesto & added Salmon. Ashley was awesome! Professional, courteous and made some great drinks. I would definitely recommend Zio Fraedos.

I try to go regularly. They have delicious foods & a fun atmosphere. I love to watch sports on all the TVs! 📺 I love that I can bring my fur baby while sitting outside with her, eating lunch, and enjoying the sites! I dont normally right reviews but Id like to help save someone else wasting their money. My fiance and I went Saturday and were very disappointed with our experience. The food was so bad it was almost inedible. I ordered the linguine with clams and the broth was flavorless, watery and it looked like they added canned clams in with the fresh. My fiance order the fillet mignion med -rare and it was overcoooked, chewy and the reduction looked more like barbeque sauce then anything else, but the flavor wasnt good. We felt like we wasted a lot of money. Prices are on par with an upscale resturant, but the food was far from it.

Out at the Von DerrHarr Ranch all morning pokin around the horse stables looking for a Bladed Scallbacker that fell of Mikes Turnshuckle when he was cooling off his Trumblewacker after a long jont up Prickle Pete Ridge. I was whipped, cold, and near broken after that ride and the pokin around, but not so whipped that I couldnt put down a French Dip sandwich from Zio Fraedos Restaurant. Theyre the best in Solano county, Vallejo for sure.Its just amazing food!5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆

Had dinner here last Friday, 05/20/22 and Im so happy Zio survived the pandemic. This is one of my familys favorite restaurant to go to for special occasions. This restaurant has a beautiful look inside & out. For starters we ordered the Calamari Fritti & Ahi Tuna Tartare. If you like raw fish, I recommend you start off with that! Then, I tried their Beet Salad...it was good but the salad was so drenched in the balsamic dressing I couldnt finish my salad as much as I wanted too. In the future, I probably will ask for the dressing on the side. As for our entrees, I had their special which was the Prime Rib w/mashed potatoes & vegetables. My husband had the Chicken Gordon Bleu. Both dishes were delicious!! We ended our meal with a decadent cheesecake...Love this place! 😊05/28/22 - Had to go back and get the Beet salad w/ the dressing on the side..😆

Nice spot by the waterfront and the municipal marina. The menu is very traditional and diverse. Overall the staff is friendly and helpful. The decor is a bit dated but comfortable enough. There is a huge parking lot, which is fairly well lit at night time.

We enjoyed a dinner with friends from out of state. We were able to have one of the dining rooms all to ourselves; not from a lack of patrons but because we wanted a quiet space. The service was top notch, and all of the dishes we ordered were delicious. The views of the water are very nice, especially at sunset.The menu had great options from salmon and filet of Sole to pasta and steak. The appetizers were wonderful. We had the fried ravioli. So, if youre in Vallejo, Zio Fraedos is a great spot for dinner. Enjoy

Service was just ok. .I ordered - Cesar salat .It is simple as it can get .I got it it had only few green parts of salat and rest was hard yellow hearts . Let’s say left over of salat. The service was a tad slow, but our waitress was friendly, helpful with suggestions & excellent.My main concern with sit-down dining is that the food is how & fresh. Zoo Fraedos gets 5 stars in that department. We had the salmon, gnocchi & pork tenderloin. All were it & very flavorful. The bread rolls were also hot & tasty.We had cheesecake & chocolate cake for dessert. My sister didnt enjoy her cheesecake, but my chocolate cake was very light & moist. Its rich & a good sized portion. More than enough to share with my niece.All the staff wore face coverings. We werent told anything regarding face coverings so Im not sure of the policy. Our family wore them while not eating & drinking. Our table was in one of the banquet rooms with plenty of space in between tables. There were only 5 tables in there.

I must say that this was the most disappointing experience I have ever had at Zios. Out with family to celebrate my bday and was asked by concierge if we cared for happy hour. One family member wanted to have a drink so we decided to give it a try.The menu was full of yummy dishes. We were seated by 642pm ends at 7pm and server showed up at 655 PM to take our order. Seth, the server, rudely rushed us. He did not write any items down and then.priceeded to say he had another table so basically Hurry up!!Well it was embarrassing since one guest had never been there. Had to speak to the manager to request a new server. We were so blessed to have America take care of us and Gio(busser) kept us covered all evening with all the water, bread butter, clearing plates etc. Americs kept checking on us as she served her guest on the dinner side (our usual place to dine as well).We ordered over 20 items and stayed til 830 enjoying the food which was a bit bland ( fried zucchini, penne n cheese pasta, tacos, and chicken tenders). However, the Zio salad, chicken wings, calamari, lava cake, dark chocolate Hennessy cake, and drink were amazing!!!! Full of flavor.I truly count this as a 10-star experience thanks to the service of America and Gio. Hopefully, Seth will develop some patience, breathing/smiling techniques, and customer service skills before the next visit.

The food was decent I dont know that the quality matched the price but it was okay. It was really loud and it was also super hot we went for lunch and sat by a window so that may have cause some of the warmth but man it was so hot we started sweating we had planed on hanging out and chatting after our meal but it was just too hot we left and ended up chatting and catching up in the parking lot cause at least there was a cool breeze there. 😅

The great reviews led me to grab lunch here with my friend. The food was terribly bland.. nearly inedible. Everyone in our party ended our meal with our food basically untouched. My friend actually had to spend some time in the restroom after he said the food tasted off.I ordered a Coke Zero and was given a Root Beer. After everything else that transpired I just let it slide.Place has a very rustic odor that I found a little off putting.Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Just an overall awful experience. I asked for a veggie pasta which was on their lunch menu but they told me they couldn’t serve that for dinner. I asked if there were any other pasta options because I am not a huge fan of meat but they didn’t offer to help me out. Didn’t give us silverware until we asked, making it hard to butter our bread. They didn’t offer to get us any other drinks besides water, gave my mom blue cheese when she requested ranch, didn’t come check on us until we were practically done eating but my mom hadn’t even started since she didn’t have her dressing. We had to ask for water refills. We had 5 different people come to our table and none of them communicated with the others. Highly recommend not eating at this place!

Mediocre, but well cooked, food in mediocre setting with mediocre service. (A reminder that mediocre is not bad. It just means it could be better.) Fancy in the most Vallejo sense possible. Menu has not changed in years, with the most stereotypical specials possible. Youd be hard pressed to find anything thats substantive vegetarian-wise. Not bad in any sense, but nothing outstanding. With minimal additional effort it could be above average.

I dont often leave negative reviews, however unfortunately in this case, I feel its necessary.Made Thanksgiving dinner reservations, a couple of weeks in advance, 5 pm for our family of 6. Our entire bill was just under $350.We were seated in the banquet room. Our server seemed a bit inexperienced when it came to the proper way to cork and serve red wine. If the restaurant chooses to charge higher end prices and an additional cork/serve fee per bottle, service should reflect it. Also, halfway through our dinner, the staff was instructed to fold up unused tables and chairs, which they did in a hurry and very loudly. This went on through the remainder of our dinner. All dinner conversations were difficult to carry on due to the noise.After a quick chat with our server before ordering our second bottle of wine, she promised to step up service. I dont blame her at all. I blame management/owners for not being on top of quality control.Now for the positive..... The food was absolutely top notch! So much flavor packed into the portions served. We walked away with more than a couple of to-go boxes. The wine, beer and booze selection was great! Something for everyone.....Overall our experience was so-so.... The quality of food made up for the short comings of our Thanksgiving dinner experience.I give Zio Fraedos 3 stars for my most recent visit as previous visits were absolutely enjoyable. Future visits may change my mind on my overall rating. I will definitely come back again and hopefully receive top notch service that all the locals rave about.

A high-end restaurant for Vallejo. Large dining rooms for big events and spacious seating for every day dining. Friendly staff and a full alcohol menu. The bar is a great place to eat or just drink. Saw this restaurant by chance and decided to try. We were greeted and seated with very little wait. The atmosphere was very nice and the table settings were upscale as was the food. The food was not blow your socks off but it was very good and the portions quite large. We both had the zucchini soup to start and I found it too be a bit bland but my friend enjoyed it. The entrees were both really great. I had the shrimp with pasta & lemon cream sauce and didnt stop until I finished it. My companion had the steak brochettes which she let me taste and the meat was like butter. The prices were a wee bit high for this area, but considering the quality it was fine. I would recommend.

July 12: I went out with my wife and friends to celebrate my wife’s birthday. I ordered fish and chips. The fish was not salted at all. I told our waitress but she just tried to be funny instead of going back to the kitchen and ask the chef to fix it. So I asked maybe you guys have soy sauce. This is a nice place with good food. We had a late lunch at about 2:00 but service was very slow. Then my husband had ordered gluten free pasta and got his entree without the pasta because the chef had made regular pasta. So that would take an additional ten minutes. Our server Jenny was very sweet though and it wasnt her fault. Nice atmosphere and delicious sour dough bread and great Caesar salad.

Its pretty good although the meal quality ought to catch up with the pricing or the pricing has to drop to the meal quality. Either/or... This establishment is not bad at all, just not worth the cost... yet? Crab cakes were more like flattened hush puppies with the essence of crab flavor... slightly, entrees were average to comparable restaurants and desserts were obviously previously frozen and probably not made in the restaurant. Its a decent restaurant but the food quality isnt up to par with what would be expected at their price points, they should do a little better

Nice location and dog friendly, good service but maybe we should stick to regular menu entrees. The patio ambience and excellent Racer 5 IPA beer on draft are the reasons for the extra star. I go to this place very frequent with my wife and daughter for lunch during weekdays. The gentleman who works here on weekdays is very polite, I always get my bread which my daughter loves and crayons for her to play while we wait for the food. Today, Saturday I went there for lunch and a white lady served us, after waiting for a while she finally came to take our order. At the same time more customers were being seeking down and bread was giving to them. I asked the lady for some bread and she tells ok. We got our food but never our bread. Every other customer got their bread but not us. At the end I mentioned to her that we never got our bread and she replies “ you didn’t get our complimentary bread. Maybe it’s still in the oven” I didn’t say anything anymore but bread was available for everyone else but us. The only difference I saw is that everyone was white and we were a minority there. I felt a little insulted and discriminated by her.

My buddies enjoyed a rib eye steak and their (truly) giant burger, The Terminator, although the alfredo wasnt especially impressive and it was all pretty pricey for the portion sizes for a place that doesnt even offer a complimentary appetizer.Save this place for occasions when you feel like treating yourself or dont want somebody to think youre cheap. Of course its a lot better than fast food, but the beers on tap arent exactly a bargain and its definitely not going to be the least expensive meal of your week...

The restaurant feels very nostalgic in a way and the atmosphere is nice but approachable. I think what sets this place apart is the down to earth service paired with really good food. I have never ordered something mediocre there. Everything I have tried has been spectacular and tastes more high end than the prices would lead you to believe. I guess recently reopened theyre looking for all kinds of help. From Hostess to server to dishwasher to Etc. Despite the fact that they were short-handed. Harvest salad was fresh, greens properly dried and adequate supply of all the ingredients. After a nice meal, enjoy a walk near the mareina.Addendum:Recently visited the establishment after a little hiadious and met with excellent customer service once again. Had a great meal and enjoyed the warm atmosphere. Every request I had for my meal was met. I recommend that anyone eat here at least once for a welcoming experience and great food. I use to love this restaurant and highly recommended it over the years. Lately, customer service hasn’t been so great, food has had no flavor the last couple times I have gone, on top of smaller portions. As a former customer, I would no longer recommend this restaurant. I shouldn’t have had such high standards regarding customer service. If they are willing to rip off their own employees, what makes me think they would treat their customers any better? Worst Experience at a Vallejo Restaurant. Arrived at the restaurant to meet friends and my spouses colleagues for a happy hour on a Tuesday afternoon when the place was relatively empty. I decided to order my drink at the bar since I would not be staying long. The bartender categorically told me that he could not serve me and that I needed to go back to the table where my friends were to wait for someone to come and take an order from me. I had to argue with him for close to a minute before I was able to order a drink. I used to like this place however they changed the chef. This new chef has changed the menu to smaller portions and raised the prices. Took off some favorites and added not very tasty dishes. Too bad it didnt stay as it was.

It looked like a classy restaurant, bar and staff as we came in until another group came and sat next to us at the bar and proceeded to play yatzee, slamming the dice on the bar table and yelling very loud. Our group politely asked them to stop slamming the dice and they started being vulgar. We had even asked the bartender if we could have a table after wed received our food and he told us to get a hostess ourselves and wait as they continued to say disrespectful things to us, the staff wouldnt ask them to stop either they kept provoking them saying that they was fine till we decided to get our food to go and leave. Thanks for the experience.

Dining at Zios, whether in the dining room or enjoying the wonderful bar appetizer specials they offer each night, it is consistently delicious and the service is *top of the Mark*. The waiters are all quite professional and the bartender at night, Buzz is delightful and has never forgotten what we drink. All in all, a pleasure to have this fine dining in Vallejo!

Wow.... just had lunch there. Went back in to order an egg salad sandwich to go. I was told they would need to check with the kitchen staff as lunch stops at 3. Its 3:25 and I am told the kitchen has put all the sandwich items away. I was a bit taken back as the sandwich is very very very basic white bread tomato and a leaf of lettuce with the egg salad. Im not asking for a burger to be cooked or anyting. SMH wont be going back there as thats poor customer service for something thats so simple. Yes I used to work in the food industry and a request like this would have been accomodated for the customer however I guess they just dont want to go a step up for customer service.

This month we celebrated my Mother’s 80th Birthday at ZIO FRAEDOS. We were able to rent their front room to entertain our families and a few of my Mother’s closest friends. They charged my credit card extra for no reason, I do not recommend going to this place at all.the total price for the meal was $105, and the receipt said Additional gratuity $19.14 which was include by default. so it was almost like I had no choice but to pay the optional tip.I dont understand this tipping culture in the USA. I dont get tips for working 9-5 engineering job, so why are restaurant workers getting paid tips for doing their jobs which they already get paid for?

We used the banquet/event space with windows and views to the back of the resturant, with lovely views of the boats docked in the marina. The feel of Zio Fraedos is comfortable, welcoming, not crowded, and with plenty of space between the tables for mingling. My White Russian was excellent and the bar service was very attentive. A comfortable place for children with their adults. Zios is a bonus being on the waterfront in Vallejo, I will add to my memories of drinking and dining for 20 years at the first location of Zio Fradeos in Pleasant Hill. This second resturant in Vallejo will not dissapoint you..
