The very first time at Zinque, and the experience was good. Since we were there early enough, we simply walked up to place an order and pay before finding a table. We found a comfortable booth while waiting for our food. We picked one item each from the display and shared. The food was tasty. Later on, we used a QR code at the table to place another order. This was simpler!! We ended up staying there for five hours without any disturbances. There were many others who seemed to be working while enjoying a cup of coffee while others were enjoying quick lunch. Now that we know how it works, we would definitely return to try other signature dishes.

We received excellent service from Romain! The burgers that we all tried were very delicious and the Aperol Spritz was very refreshing.One of the best burgers in Venice, comes with fries and a housemade sauce that is very similar to a remoulade.The outdoor seating is very nice, with a large parking lot for easy accessibility.

Zinqué is the best, perfect spot to meet a friend, bring a group, work solo, pop in for a coffee - has a great breakfast, lunch and fantastic dinner. There is a restaurant side and the market side. It honestly fully encompasses everything you would want. The drinks are great, the food is great, the selection of options is extensive. It can get busy, so make sure you can get there ahead of the rush. Get the baklava latte.

I went to celebrate my birthday dinner with a party of 7 and had such a lovely experience. Cannot thank Richard enough for taking care of us and being so sweet! I don’t drink alcohol and he brought out a non alcoholic Prosecco so that I could cheers with my friends 🥹Everyone greatly enjoyed the food and the ambiance was perfect.Please bring back the chickpea fries!! We miss them

Unfortunately my second mediocre meal in 2 days. My medium steak frites were WELL DONE WELL DONE. It was caked in so much pepper that I couldnt take bites without coughing. The fries and coffee were decent. The service was very average as well. Nothing positive stood out to me except the clean bathrooms.

Great food, love the atmosphere... This place is a great casual spot for food, good coffee and pleasant local vibe. I think if theres anywhere to improve its the service. Our server was pleasant, but we had to go ask someone else for a couple things during our lunch. I can chalk it off to its that kind of a place. But its that kind of a place... Im cool with it, but i guess a bit of checking in from time to time would help the experience. Especially if youre dining as opposed to just having coffee or a snack.

We had a wonderful experience! Had the braised ribs, stake, and salmon all were amazing! We had the avocado salad as a starter which was delicious. For dessert we had the apple Beignets. Every thing was wonderful. The service was excellent. We sat outside on a chillies night but they had heaters and we didnt even notice when it started raining. I would absolutely recommend.

We waited more then 20 minutes at the bar cause the barman was flirting and drinking all night with the girls next to us, without even look at us ( he just gave us the menus when we sit ). So we ordered the late night menu after 9:30 that was 2/3 lower then the regular one and when we asked the check, surprise surprise the flirting barman gave us the full price check ( 100$ instead of 62$). We told him that we ordered after 9:30 so the price was different and he come back with another wrong check ( around 74$ ). We told him to try again that the total should be 62$ based on the late night menu that we ordered, and he brought another wrong check ( third time, he tried to charge the meatballs 12$ instead of 6$ ). At The 4 th attempt we finally got the right check with the right price of what we ordered on the menu. Terrible service, trying to screw us without success.

Lets start with service.. well, it doesnt really exist because you have to order yourself and prepay like its 2021. Hot sauce? Go ask the front barista for it. The food was decent - which is why they get 3 out of 5 stars. Its astonishingly overpriced...like the Erewhon of the trendy hipster Venice coffee/breakfast joints. No, you dont get what you pay for - here at least. But hey, them activist libs love to pay $22 for that avocado toast while using iphones to simultaneously bash capitalism 😅

This restaurant is looking modern and fancy. The menu allows you to choose whatever you want, from sandwiches to main course fish or steak. The food its is OK, but not excellent. Service was the most frustrated point. We are waited our order so long and out waiter always forget to bring something in time…they do charge 20% of service, but service its self is just wasnt there.

Love the space, but the food and the service were so bad. We had a reservation, were seated then 30 mins in had to ask around to find someone who could take our order (it wasn’t that busy). I ordered the citrus fennel salad added salmon, rare. Was brought the *lentil salad with salmon jerky on top and uncheweable inedible edge of the fennel bulb with some lentils and oil. An hour and a half later when the waitress checked on us, I told her it was inedible and she didn’t take the salmon off the bill or address it whatsoever. I had been here before and felt it was overpriced and underwhelming. Don’t think I’ll go back though I do love the atmosphere.

Though pricey I appreciate the flexibility of the space and the overall quality of food and service. Great place to go during the day for counter service and to do work or meet colleagues- lots of different for work spaces. In the evening one gets table service, happy hour options and can still do work on your laptop. For this flexibility and comfortable environment with parking I give a 5-star. The fried artichokes and roasted cauliflower were delicious as well.

I’m really disappointed in the quality of food they have. I ordered medium-rare steak frites and smoked salmon tartine. The steak came out well-done and COLD and breads for the salmon tartine was SOGGY!!!!! NOT CRISPY AT ALL. The tartine was really bad. I have never seen tartine like this before. I have been LA, Hollywood, Laguna locations and they were good, but this location was so BAD. I don’t recommend this Zinque at all.

Might not mean much to your average Angelino. But the fried artichokes, fire. The steak of the steak frites was on the exceptional side. While the fries left something to be desired. As did le bowl. The latter was the letdown of the evening. My guys had nothing but good things to say about the charcuterie. Between us, we had about 11 Calvados Old Fashioned’s. I’ll let that speak for itself.All in all, borderline stellar meal in terms of execution, alongside great company - which definitely helped land the atmosphere. And with a relatively short lead time for a reservation - booked earlier on in the day. I’d definitely have another go at Zinqué. I recommend you do too.Bring some fabulous people and plan on being there a while. Service is slow. While it didn’t bother us, queue company comment, it’s worthy of mentioning. There are lots of beautiful people to look at it the meantime. I see you, LA.

We drove by a couple of weeks ago, got curious, and decided to make a lunch try-out today. It was beyond expectations, and I had set a pretty high bar already. I had the salmon with potato gratin and it was a hit, very well made, and nicely presented. Well be back for more testing soon, since I would gladly order anything from their menu!

The steak and fries had great flavor but not as tender as I would like. The Branzino, however, was a home run. The desserts were also excellent. The almond tart and the flourless chocolate cake were outstanding.

You have a large group? Read this -I reserved a table for 19 people. They said we must have a pre-set menu for $75/each. OK!Called 1.5 hour before and said it will be 17.They charged us for 18. When I questioned it, they said we brought food for 18 people! REALLY???? Why?Food was NOT worth $75; mostly potatoes, and some rotisserie chicken and meat. Wish we could have ordered burgers...Also, ordered 3 bottles of champagne for a toast; They filled our glasses to the rim! The service was excellent. We had Valerie, and she was so sweet, attentive, and professional. She was perfection as far as wait staff goes!!!The main dish for me was the pasta bolognese, which, for me, was a huge disappointment, I hate to say. Maybe it was a bad night, as they were super busy... but all I could taste from the sauce was salt. Im not even a sauce snob, I make my own and my mom is Italian so we know when we eat out its not gonna be as good as our own, but usually most bolognese even at diners is edible...but this was just a plate of salt.The beef was tender, and pasta itself was cooked well, but for $24, I was just expecting something spectacular with regard to the flavor or the sauce, something heartier. The portion was rather small as well, especially at that price.They were so busy that night (there was a huge Birthday party next to us) I didnt want to send it back as I felt the staff was likely overwhelmed, So maybe it was a one off. I have jn the past had their quiche, and it was PERFECT (DTLA location).The broccoli was excellent and cooked and seasoned perfectly, and my friend loved the fish dish.I tried her espresso martini, and if it was THE best I ever had.Lastly, the berry crumble with gelato was divine and not too sweet, which is how all dessert should be. Sugar should never overpower the other flavors. Thats the sign of a good chef!!So maybe it was a one-off with the bolognese. Other than that, food was mostly great.The atmosphere is not my favorite, but thats personal as I deeply dislike wannabe Instagram models from Venice and old hipsters trying to be noticed. But if thats your thing, you will be in Heaven. I saw so much filler, botched plastic surgery, and makeup on twenty somethings that I could barely keep most of my overly priced food down.But thats the scene nowadays. And thay alone made me never want to come back to this particular location.Just a heads up for any of you allergic to insecure, vapid young Venetians.

Such a swanky place in Venice, but kind of obscure location. Was wonderful dining outside with the heaters nearby to take the chill off. Short ribs were amazing with the asparagus. I dont remember the name of the potatoes, but they were a great accompaniment as well. Nice fresh salad to start the meal.Loved the server and her Spanish accent. The manager, Mark, was very friendly and welcomed us with open arms. Zinguè is worth going to many times.

I REALLY LIKE THIS PLACE. I profoundly dislike restaurants and bars with LOUD music, LOUD people, irritating bright TV screens, so noisy you cannot hear each other speak, let alone carry on a conversations, etc. None of this B-S here! The decor is chill, refined-industrial minimalist yet warm and unpretentious, the lighting is perfect, the interior design is both sublime and casual with all sorts of spaces, nooks and views (from the gorgeous front store and its unique selection, to the circular bar, to the booths, the fireplace in the back, the huge patio, etc.) We had excellent cocktails with a shrimp appetizer, all delicious. Nice bartender. I used to live very close and this would be my HQ if I still did, but Ill be driving back. THANK YOU!

The new Venice location of Zinqué has amazing vibes and a big outdoor patio behind the restaurant. There’s also a fantastic little grocery store tied to the front of the restaurant. The food was amazing, and we loved the salads, le bowl, and our fries. Minus 1 star because the food came far too quickly. One of our dishes even came as the waiter punched in and on his tablet and he was still standing at the table. It felt like we were being rushed.

Giving this a 2 and not a 1 for the sole reason that I had a good experience with my entree dining in person. However, I ordered this for my partner to go - it was listed as “Four Cheese pizzas”… He opened this and needless to say, we were both shocked. This is not pizza… it’s not even close and doesn’t even have sauce/cheese on it. Super disappointing considering I could have spent the $13 on something actually edible for him. Please consider renaming this menu item and/or just removing it all together…

At first glance this place looks extremely intimidating: bursting with crowds, young to old, on dates or gatherings, everyone seems to bring their best. You’ll always find an interesting, international menagerie of venices most glamorous. To our delight, despite our assumptions, we’ve found Zinqué to be the best of both worlds. A fabulous ambiance that manages to be welcoming and cool — with a delicious menu of food. The pan bagnat, hamburger and grilled salmon are some of our favorites.Shoutout to Valerie - the sparkling nymph that showered us with wonderful service and at the end of the night, also surprised us with two free drinks that were accidental leftovers. Great food!! This happened at their Malibu location.Disgusting - bought their USD5.50 tea to use their washroom. The tall man in glasses who is obviously mentally retarded and medically insane was acting as a manager and asked me what I had in my bag - this question constitutes violation of privacy laws - then, while I was in the washroom stall, was asking me to hurry up - then, after I came back to the bar stool to drink my tea, that same man told me that it was better to give me tea to go if I did not mind with an attitude hinting that I was better off taking the tea to go. I am always welcome in the Beverly Hills most expensive hotels but this joint decided to mistreat me. Needless to say - I am not coming back and advise the rest of humanity not to come here.RECOMMENDATION - boycott all Zinque locations and everything owned and/or operated by these people to drive them out of business and open better establishments that respect customers.RESPONSE TO OWNER:In summary - the owner(s) is/are pathological liar(s).The fact that one of their managers is obviously mentally retarded by nature and medically insane by nature speaks volumes about all Zinque locations.OWNER(S) WROTE - You came to our restaurant a few weeks ago with trash bags, wearing dirty clothes, smelling really bad.RESPONSE - owner(s) is/are lying. I had normal bags with belongings with me and nobody in the entire Los Angeles County called them trash bags before. My clothes were normal - nobody in the entire Los Angeles County called them dirty. The smell of my body was normal - nobody in the entire Los Angeles County complained.OWNER(S) WROTE - You then went to the bathroom. When our manager came to check, alerted by a customer, you had your pants down with the door open. You closed the door when you saw him.RESPONSE - owner(s) is/are lying.First - they constructed washrooms that resemble wooden blinds on windows. In other words - they give no privacy to customers. Then - they complain about lack of privacy when customers adjust their wardrobes inside those toilet stalls. Moreover - pants were definitely not down on that occasion.OWNER(S) WROTE - Our manager knocked at the door after you had been there for 20 minutes. When you finally did, he gave you your tea to go and asked you to leave.RESPONSE - not 20 minutes but much less. Moreover - when a customer needs to defecate, then a customer needs to defecate, sometimes defecation takes time. And in case of a diarrhea - a customer may defecate for 30+ minutes. Kicking a customer out in this situation is a sign of extreme disrespect. Recommendation stands - boycott all Zinque locations and everything owned and/or operated by these people to drive them out of business and open better establishments that respect customers.

Stopped in for weekend Brunch prior to an event at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center a couple of blocks away. Its a small place with a bar-like atmosphere.The overall experience involved mistakes on everything we ordered, long delays in food coming out, which overshadowed the pretty good food we ultimately got to eat.They were out of the gratine potatoes when we arrived at 11:30 am on a Sunday. In our lexicon of brunch, potatoes are an essential component, so its kind of unforgivable that they would be out of them relatively early during a brunch service.The coffee was excellent and strong.There were three of us...all three of our dishes were brought out at different times with awkward long amounts of time between...so if youre the kind of people who like to be polite and wait for your co-diners food to arrive before you eat, then this is not for you.Also, 2 of our dishes had to be sent back upon arrival. I had ordered the Zucchini Quiche and they brought me the Quiche Lorraine. You cant always tell be looking at a quiche whats in it, so Im glad I asked as Im a vegetarian and surprise bacon in my mouth would have been unfortunate. When I did get the right quiche it was very good, legit French-style quiche with exactly the right texture one should expect from such a quiche.Meanwhile my wifes frittata was ordered without cheese, but came with cheese so after letting it sit for a while while waiting for the quiche, we realized it had to be sent back to be prepared again without cheese. (And we discovered they didnt actually make a new frittata but carefully picked the cheese out of what they had brought us as cheese was later discovered still in the salad that accompanies the frittata.The frittata was good, but repeated delays and mistakes made it difficult for us to enjoy this place. Would have rated it higher based on the food without the mistakes and delays. Would have rated it lower had they not offered a discount because of these mistakes.Lots of other brunch options very close by so will probably be a long while before we try this one again.

Zinque is a solid cafe by day and a good bar by night and located on Venice and Abbot Kinney. Only a few beers on tap, but all decent ones. I usually go for coffee during the day, but I went at night recently and saw some live music, which was rad and met some friends for drinks. Overall, the place is nice, comfortable and friendly.

Soirée raclette sans fromage!What a disappointment to have eaten a raclette with barely any cheese! When ask for more just as I had seen the person in front’s plate with a lot of cheese, I was told he was the chef of the restaurant so it was normal for him to get it! Anyone that knows raclette knows that you are eating it for the cheese! We spent $42 per person for a very unsatisfactory raclette!

Just stopped in for drinks and they had a good selection of wines by the glass. I think they forgot about our group a couple times. When the first round of drinks came out everyones cocktails showed up, but my glass of wine took another 5 to 10 minutes. Id revisit and give it another shot. Its definitely a popular place.

I love this place. Very roomy and great outdoor space in a big parking lot. Originally it was on Abbot Kinney and Venice Blvd and the French oyster guys from Carlsbad would shuck oysters. The manager, Nigel Hernandez came to my table and said “ someone said you wanted to talk to me?” And I informed him that I found a hair in my food . The back opens up to a very unlovely parking lot but still has beautiful tables and impressive charm if somewhat contrived of exposed bricks and steel. As someone who eats mostly vegetarian and strives to be vegan felt more than just indifference to not meet but almost hostility that you would go to this particular establishment and not want to eat animals. For instance theres no vegetarian option for a burger and the pasta dish I had was indifferent. This is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Venice. The food is simply OFF THE CHAIN!! Theres lots of flavors in all the dishes, a wide selection of beer and wine. They have a full bar, plenty of parking, great background music, a killer Happy Hour etc, etc... If you get there before 4.00 pm, you sit yourself, order food at the counter, and get to work on your laptop, at a tableor at the bar, peacefully. We had been to the new location next to Ross a few months ago and had a wonderful time dining outside under the heat lamps. This time it was colder so we sat inside. I’ve been here a few times and finally stayed to sit down. The vibe of a place you want on Abbot Kinney but you get MUCH more space here. Grab a casual meal or post up to work a few hours on the laptop (as it seems there’s always a handful of people in there doing the same). My review is not for the food it is for the owner of the place. Less than 3 months ago I worked 15 hours at the restaurant that is located in Venice, I no longer went to work due to problems and they obviously took me off the schedule due to absence from work without prior notice. After a month I talked to the chef Esteban to get paid for the hours I work and he told me that everyone who left without notifying them would send their check by mail. Im still waiting for my check after three months, I called again to send messages to the supposed chef in charge and he didnt answer me. They did not pay me and nobody looked for a solution for me, no manager. If you are going to work in this place, make sure you are part of the workteam and do not give away your time. They should change their manager and look for one that cares about their employees

First visit for lunch on a weekday and it was busy! Beautiful space where you order at the bar and take a number. I was indecisive and asked the cashier for a rec and he told me to order quiche with side of potatoes. It sounded carb-heavy but I went for it and it was delicious (and heavy). Friend ordered Bahn Mi sandwich which didnt look as appetizing as my potatoes! I would come back for brunch and try to sit on the patio (which has a TV, but Im not sure why).

Our first outing since COVID-19. They had everyone wearing masks and ordering at the counter. Once we ordered we took our number to a table of our choice. A lot less tables to be able to keep distance but still felt like we were with people. We sat outside where it was breezy and we were quite a distance from the next party. The quiche Lorraine was amazing and so was the quinoa breakfast burrito. It felt good to be outside and a little sense of normalcy.

Some things I was disappointed with...- way, way over priced for what you get. I ordered the shrimp main with garlic butter which was $18 and there were about 7 sad shrimp on a plate with minimal garlic butter. No sides included.- asked for some bread to dip in minimal garlic butter and it was stale and we got charged $2 for it- waiter offered chimmichurri sauce with the shrimp which we presumed was included. Got charged $2 for this also and it never came.- Brussels were $12 and a pretty small portion and I found them to be under done.- flatbread was basically melted cheese on a crackerGlasses of wine averaged around $15 so our bill was over $100 which I found to be disappointing for that price vs the quality of food.I think there are better places in the area but if youre looking for a cool, overpriced wine bar thats full of pretty people, this is your place.

The ratatouille is better than Le Bowl. The portions here are small, as its a small plates place. Just make sure you know that before you go. I ordered the Ratatouille, and it was warm, soft, and made me feel like a child staying home from elementary school because I was sick. Its a softly flavored dish, clearly not designed to knock out the giant, but still retains its own gentle beauty. It really delivered on Pixars promise.I got a berry crumble at the end of the night. It was buttery and crumbly, just like the dirt on the ground of my first camping experience where my breakfast landed. So that was good, for what its worth.The general consensus is that that food was fine. The salmon was well received. The best part of the night was when wanna be Justin Timberlake from 10 years ago walked in.

The hostess was dramatically rude with a bitter attitude. Not sure if they pay her to be miserable for the ambience, but someone should break it to her-this isn’t a world renowned restaurant, far from it. The ratatouille was not... it literally was not ratatouille. Instead it was sautéed eggplant, it had no other vegetables. Ratatouille is supposed to be squash, peppers, and tomatoes, zucchini...ect... this dish only had one ingredient. I was thoroughly disappointed. This is not a French restaurant, it is a low quality restaurant, with decent decor, that hire’s French hostess.The charcuterie board was alright at best, the Bloody Mary was not... it was not a Bloody Mary. It is white wine with Tomatoe juice, no olives, no celery, no onion pearl, literally nothing else except white wine and tomatoe juice...The shrimp was well cooked, lacked any seasoning or sauce though. The salads look sad, and the menu isn’t French at all.Just a over priced Venice spot, off Abbott Kinney that’s open during quarantine. Wouldn’t recommend...

We stopped by Zinque for a night cap as we had in the past travelling through Venice from Canada. This time we were given service way less than expected.As chefs in the industry (without saying so) we tend to try new dishes and/or drinks at multiple places within one night, which may not be the typical full dining experience for some. Zinque was our last stop as we were just looking for a a glass of wine seeing as it was getting late and had already been to 3 restaurants for the evening. We ordered a Viognier and Semmillon/Sauvignon Blanc while sitting at the the bar that we truly fully enjoyed. Except that when we were ready to pay our server had said tempranillo. May have been a common mistake so we asked the bartender to correct it however he responded with those were the two cheapest wines on the menu so it doesnt really matter what was rung in. As a former partner and executive chef in 2 restaurants and a bar I feel thoroughly disrespected as a patron and as a professional in the industry in which we have put our heart and souls in. This trip to LA was supposed to be a research trip in ideas for our future endeavours. Luckily enough we have solidified more in what not to do. Yes we have good days and bad days, but by no means should any person front or back of house have the audacity to disrespect a paying customer with such a snide and demeaning remark.We didnt come here for cheap wine nor did we come here for cheap service. Yes, a small mistake to some but a larger one in the scheme of things. We are always willing to pay good money for good food and service. Hope you enjoyed your unrewarded 20% tip.

The owner wants to feel like God, so he hires simple minded servers (I have served tables in New York & Chicago) consistently! They can only handle 1 task at a time.. & I mean, deliver water, come back take drink order, THEN take food order... ONE table at a time. To make it worse, their system to pay out, is always having problems, which is not the servers fault... people in the neighbourhood only go there because the location & outside seating. The food was mediocre. My dish was missing some of the main ingredients and I had to get up from the table twice to remind the waitress that I had asked her to bring me those ingredients and a refill of my coffee, after waiting for 10 minutes. I would rate it higher if the food made up for the experience, but it didnt. Not going back.
