Good food (but over-priced) & bad service.Started with the bread rolls;I had the fried chicken, which comes with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The chicken was cooked well, crispy and juicy. The mashed potatoes were good as well. I liked the creamed spinach, cheesy.The atmosphere was ok, a little dark.The service was friendly, but absent. The server never checked back with us to see if we needed anything, also waited 15-20 minutes to get the servers attention to get the check.

We liked Zin. Our waitress Terri was great and very knowledgeable of the main dishes. We sat outside on the very late afternoon. Weather was excellent but, we couldn’t stop making a joke about the “Wait” stop light…LOl ;) other then that is was great!.

We enjoyed brunch here. Our favorite was the mushroom truffle soup. Im not a big mushroom fan but do enjoy a good blended mushroom soup and this hit the spot. I would come back solely for the soup. The Eggs Benedict were delicious - I am veggie so I got it without Canadian Bacon as Im not a fan of the Florentine version. Would love to see an avocado and tomato Benedict version on the menu in the future. One thing to note is the eggs run a little runny. We ordered over medium but they were quite runny - the server made a comment about that being typical so I recommend ordering above how you normally order your eggs. The unlimited bubbly with the fresh juice option was delicious. The juice carafes are tiny but they really do last for multiple glasses of bubbly.

Food was great...service started slow to get someone to take our order but it was fine afterwards.The beet salad with hangar steak was cooked to perfection...truffle fries to die for. ***careful with the fried olives...I bit into 1 and there was a piece of olive pit...it may have chipped a tooth for me...Ill know later this week😪

The location is great. The hostess was very personable and professional. Unfortunately the service was slow and food was ok at best.We waited some time for menus, and longer for our drinks.Our chicken club sandwiches were interesting. There was a great deal of chicken which normally would be a good thing, but this chicken was very dense, dry, overcooked and under seasoned. The fries were the best part and were very light, not too salty, and perfectly cooked.Not sure we would return.

The hosts and my server were the best! Tried the mushroom ravioli last night and it was very good. They even have a dog friendly patio! Very beautiful and classy place, will definitely be back.

I popped in for a solo lunch and sat at the bar and little did I know, my dinner would also be from here also- that’s how great it was!I met the bar tender (middle aged gentleman who has worked there for years) who was an absolute delight. He made the perfect recommendations for selections and sizing portions, as it was just me.Every bite of each item I had was as fabulous as the service.I had planned on trying somewhere else for dinner but after the experience, and the additional recommendations for later, I returned for a Togo order of the fried chicken. The female bar tender was polite, professional, and had kept my food fresh until I could walk there to pickup.I Am a total foodie from Tampa, and will recommend and return to this restaurant when anyone asks or visits Palm Springs. Top notch service, cleanliness, and food quality!

The kitchen staff is clearly not together. The risotto on one of the Salmon entrees was crunchy. The roasted Pork Tenderloin was charred crunchy, and dry beyond edibility on the top side. The first plate of Prime Rib came out medium well AND cold. The replacement plate came out luke warm. I would avoid planning a dinner here. Initially I stopped the review here, but have changed my mind. This was a fixed price NEW YEARS Eve dinner. We traveled to Palm Springs on vacation and expect way more of a special occasion experience. Comping two of the three meals does not replace your New Years Eve experience. This was beyond disappointing.

Stopped by for dinner. Amazing Sangria, one of the best I have had. Fig and Feta Salad with Grilled Chicken was bursting with flavor yet light and very filling. Brownie A la Mode was the perfect ending. Sitting on the patio with awesome lighting and ambience. Will definitely be back

Great atmosphere and service. We were here on Pride weekend and it was really busy. But the staff handled it well.We had a hiccup with one of our dishes. It was cold and was not our flavor. They took it back and had it removed from the bill. That is the way that restaurants should handle this problem but so many don’t.We will definitely be back!

We ended up there because the restaurant we planned to go was closed unexpectedly. But we were really glad we ate there. From the receptionist, to the waiter and other staff, all were excellent and professional. We got there pretty late and they never gave us the feeling of being rushed. The food was wonderful. I had their Macadamia Crusted Chicken Schnitzel and I really loved it! I certainly recommend it.

Went for happy hour and they had a list of bourbon, vodka, etc that was available for said “well cocktails” in the menu for happy hour. I am a local and come here often.I went and got an old fashioned just to be surprised it wasn’t on the “well cocktails” happy hour option and then got surprised with a $17.00 per drink bill. He worked with me and only gave $5 off after i expressed that me, a customer, did not intended to purchase such drink that was $17.00. Unfortunately couldn’t pay a nice tip to my wonderful server because of this mishap. Will not be back again, i pay my servers well and this is unacceptable.

We popped in for a snack. We had no issues getting service, even though it was very busy. The service was immediate, and the drinks were great. There happy hour ran for a long time. So we enjoyed a bunch of bites. Fried Blue Cheese Olives, Zin Bites, Fries, and the soup of the day. All were really good. It wasnt loud and obnoxious as some places, so it was extremely pleasant. Definitely a try if in Palm Springs.

Extremely disappointing. Ordered a fig and feta salad with shrimp. Salad was drowned in a vinegrette making it inedible. Not one piece of feta so I asked for some. Sprinkled it over the top but whatever it was it tasted nothing like feta. Shrimp tasted a bit suspect so I didn’t persevere with those. Such a shame as I was sooooo hungry!

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Zin on a recent visit to Palm Springs. The food was amazing! My husband had the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection served with potato croquettes.i had the braised short ribs served over mashed potato’s and green beans. Both meals were fantastic. We were pleased to meet the co-owners of Zin, Jason and Mindy during our visit! Great wine list and a choice of non alcoholic beers.

Although the food surpassed the average mark, the prices were quite steep.Regrettably, I found myself awarding a lower rating due to the exorbitant cost of breakfast. A staggering $86 plus tip for avocado toast, French toast, and two beverages. And to top it off, an excessively floral Titos Bloody Mary would set you back $20. $9 for 3 eggs added to my avo toast. :(Are we in Palm Springs or Vegas?

The best part of our visit was the bartender. He was friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. The service was unbelievably slow. The mussels were not good and the burger was cold. I didnt normally like to hate on servers because they have a difficult job. But this was beyond slow. Its a great place for drinks, though!

Stopped there for a Saturday dinner with friends. Our waiter was very kind and funny, and it was absolutely a plus. A good choice of food is offered - the buttermilk chicken is very good, crispy on the outside and moist and tasty on the inside. Sides were good. The steak frites were quite good, the beef was cooked properly medium-rear as requested, but the zinfandel reduction was too salty and it quite dominated the flavours on the plate. Prices are faire. Extended wine list, good cocktails.

We visited the restaurant and were informed that there would be a one-hour wait for a table. However, we observed that other parties were seated immediately. I noticed the hostesss body language and felt that she was reluctant to seat us. After leaving the restaurant, I checked the OpenTable app and saw that there was immediate availability. We returned to the restaurant and inquired about this discrepancy. The hostess explained that we were not seated because we had a baby and a service dog in strollers. I expressed my surprise and disappointment that this information was not communicated to us at the outset. I believe that this situation constitutes discrimination. Instead of accommodating us, the hostess chose to reject us despite the hot weather conditions. We have been patrons of this restaurant in the past due to its proximity to our home, but we will not be returning due to this unpleasant experience with the older blonde manager. This incident is a clear example of discrimination.

Four of us went here for dinner tonight. Asked have a salad split in the kitchen....it wasnt. When I asked it to be split the man delivering it (not our server) was pissy. When our entrees were delivered (not our server) they were shoved in on top of salad and bread plates. I asked him to clear the table. He picked up one salad plate and left. My chicken was very over cooked. Tough and dry. Other dinners were fine. We have no plans to return. There are a lot of great restaurants in Palm Springs.

I haven’t been out to dinner by myself in a long time (thanks Covid) and felt out of practice and apprehensive but! I need not have worried. The staff at Zin are so friendly and so experienced, I ended up with the perfect amount of food and great drinks, not to mention lovely friendly banter. Jason was extremely knowledgeable about wines and really knew his pairings. I was impressed by the amount of delicious vegetarian options in the small plates and wanted to try them all. Highly recommend, alone or with friends!

This was an amazing dinner from every aspect. First, massive wine cellar. We went with the 2018 Hobbs Malbec and it didnt disappoint. Our mains were the duck with exquisite scalloped potatoes, prepared in such a unique way. We also had the steak and frites (best fries in town). Chip, our server was attentive, made strong recommendations, and was a delight. The chef came out to deliver the delicious cheesecake with balsamic reduction and a bruleed top to make the meal absolute perfection. Excellent choice if you can make it.

Well decorated and stocked with a huge wine list, signature drinks with house-made mixers and fresh juice- I had the Watermelon Mint cocktail and it was terrific! The bartender was very accommodating and made my go-to drink from the recipe I provided and it was amazing with the house grenadine!As I tend to do; I allowed the chef to recommend my meal. I was provided with an incredible Lobster Pappardelle... Gosh.. the fresh buttery Lobster with the hefty slices of Parmesan made this meal creamy and sharp against the cognac sauce. I loved it! I chose this place based on both the good and bad reviews. Or more precisely, the responses the owner wrote to the negative ones. It is true that if we, as patrons, want to enjoy our meal, we should politely let the establishment know if there is something that is not working for us. This allows them the opportunity to address any issues we may have. If they dont know that you are unhappy, how can they fix it for you? Also, this helps the restaurant improve, and more likely to anticipate customer needs and preferences.Between us, in our two visits in three days, we had pork shank, short ribs, seafood linguini, mussels, beef stew, burnt ends. All were quite excellent. I travel for a living, and eat at restaurants across the country. This one is as good as any, and willing to work with you to make your meal special.

Had Thanksgiving dinner here and since then this place is my favorite one. The best dining experience I had in Palm Springs. Undoubtedly the only restaurant that serves you the authentic dish that’s made fresh from scratch that probably most are looking for. I highly recommend their mushroom truffle soup, macadamia crusted chicken schnitzel, maple glazed red cabbage steak, Mindy’s Chevre Cheesecake and the Belgian Chocolate Mousse. Every food item I tried was delicious. Instead of ordering, I suggest you dine at this place just for the experience. Thank you for the best services I have ever gotten from any restaurant. I will definitely be back.

Had dinner with my daughter & granddaughters. Enjoyed a before dinner cocktail, Gin Aviator, very refreshing. We shared a bottle of red wine with dinner. Staff was very attentive, Chad, our waiter introduced us to Thomas who was training with him. Thomas took our order & did a wonderful job. They both were so kind & informative. We ordered a vegetarian burger, adult Mac & Cheese, Pasta of the day, cognac cream sauce & escargot & a macadamia crusted chicken schnitzel dish. All was delicious. We splurged on dessert! Located at the most vibrant and trafficked corner of Palm Springs Zin is a traditional white table cloth restaurant with a local European feel. IT connects with the city. You can feel the pulse and energy of palm springs while enjoying amazing food and drinks. On this visit I started early with brunch and some drinks on the patio. You can watch the traffic flow at the crosswalk. From brunch transitioning into a two martini lunch with a client that later spilled into the bar for amazing appetizers and drinks with friends was seamless and well lubricated. Dynamic and classic Zin is a great place to pull into and get a sense of Palm Springs from the inside.

Bradley took excellent care of me here. The oysters were fantastic, the ambience is perfect to relax and enjoy. The only issue I had was my burger was over cooked and had no flavor at all. But it filled me up and I was also very tired. The atmosphere and service at Zin American Bistro is amazing. The service here is top notch . The servers were on it when it came to refilling our drinks, I would put my empty glass down to talk and next thing I know it was filled again. The menu is so diverse that Im sure the pickiest eater will find something they will enjoy.My friend and I ordered the charcuterie board and it was FABOULES!!! We had never had one before and to say we were blown away would be an understatement. Along with the charcuterie board we ordered the Original Zin Burger and Salsa Verde Chilaquiles. My friend loved his burger, the Wagyu was cooked to perfection. I had the Salsa Verde Chilaquiles. This is where I took away a star. I received the food and it looked amazing but when I took a bite none of the flavors came through. It turned into a flavorless mush in my mouth and it was really unpleasant. Would definitely not order again.All in all I would come back to Zin American Bistro. The food was good, the service was amazing and the atmosphere of the whole restaurant was amazing.

Asked for the 1/2 bottle Chianti as well.They came back with a full bottle indicating, no 1/2 bottles left (I might not understand how this works, but couldnt they give me 1/2 of the full bottle?!?) Ordered the goat and beet salad, Zin bites and one of the main fish dishes.Zin bites, had the smallest morsel of meat inside and the flavour was not good. The gravy was also not good we returned this dish.The beet and goat cheese salad was okay, but there was barely any goat cheese on it, very disappointing.We were very nervous at this point for the main fish salmon dish with risotto. But it was actually good and we finished it all.

Came yesterday (Thursday) for a meal and the patio was completely empty, but were told that if we wanted to have a happy hour drink before our meal, we’d have to sit inside. Wait, what? Lovely white table cloths, lots of outside seating, a warm greeting by the hostess, and the service was great.Two of the three of us had their blue cheese steak salad. The restaurant sits on a pretty busy corner, so street noise can be a bit bothersome. Be aware that the sun sets facing the tables, so the ones closest to outside will be hot until the sun goes down behind the mountain. Thankfully, it’s the desert, so it cools off quickly.We arrived early and were seated, which was lovely. After a quick tour of the menus—drinks and food—we ordered an old fashioned, the Zin burger with fries, and the scallops. All were cooked well although the corn portion that accompanied the scallops was meager. The burger was really good, according to my husband.Service was just ok. I’m sorry to say but this is the second meal in a row that has been very disappointing. The first was during the Tennis Matches in October. The salmon I ordered had clearly been previously frozen and was cooked prior to be totally thawed. The center was under cooked and mushy. I would have asked for it to be replaced but I could not get the servers attention. I asked the busboy to get her and although he said ok, she never appeared. Once she did I let her know but by this time the friend I was dining with was done eating, so I asked for my meal to be comped which it was. I appreciated that so when I was asked to join two other friends for Christmas dinner I happily agreed since I’ve always enjoyed all of the other meals I have eaten here over the years.The meal was a prix fix with choices that were mediocre at best. The beet salad was unattractively served and was small & unappetizing. The turkey dinner reminded me of one from a diner. It was over cooked, not from a roast turkey but instead a turkey roll. The gravy was from a package, the stuffing over cooked and out of a box.The owner, who knew one of the two people I was dining with came over, greeted him and spent about 5 mins talking to him never once greeted or acknowledged our presence. She never even said “Merry Christmas,” or asked if we enjoyed ourselves or the meal.This meal costs $79, so with one drink, tip & tax it cost me $120! Ridiculously overpriced and frankly not worth it. Honestly that meal should have been no more than $30. Thank goodness the company was great.

I am unfortunately disappointed with Zin American Bistro. From a first glance it seemed like a nice place to have dinner but when seated, I was quickly disappointed. The food selection seemed slim and there werent many things on the menu that interested me. In an attempt to choose a meal I asked to switch a side dish for another which unbeknownst to me had an additional fee that was failed to be mentioned. Hidden fees seemed to be a reoccurring theme when we asked someone if we could have some extra chips and were not told wed be charged for that as well. While all of this is fairly harmless the worst was yet to come, I became aware at some point around midnight that someone in my dinning party got food poisoning from Zin. I cannot recommend this to anyone, especially in Palm Springs. There are many better places to dine while visiting and Id recommend steering clear.

Nicole is the worst hostess. She was rude and obnoxious. I was taking my little son to the restroom before getting seated at this restaurant. She appeared out of nowhere and told us that can’t use their restroom facilities to wash up. I explained to her that I’m trying to wash my six year old’s hands. She still wouldn’t let us to use the restrooms. We left with such a bad taste in our mouth that we will never be back.

Had been wanting to try Zin Bistro for some time. This evening was a last minute trip to Palm Springs for dinner and I remembered Zin Bistro. It was great! Ambiance is quite nice, unpretentious yet elegant at the same time.Matthew took care of us and did a fine job making us feel welcomed. We enjoyed the dinner from the prix fixe menu. Enjoyed the wedge salad, steak frites and apricot bourbon bread pudding!Looking forward to our next visit. This is my new favorite in Palm Springs!

The place looked good, central location and i believe we would have a great time having a dinner here unless... the hostess. The moment me and the kid entered she said that if my 9 y.o. Keeps walking around other tables we would be asked to leave. When we sat down she came asking when my other friends should join so i answered they were parking and should join us in 5 min. Then she said that if they didn’t come within 5 min she would ask us to leave since she has another reservation and wouldn’t have enough time for us to enjoy our dinner. I was shocked! She was so rude! I can’t believe we got this attitude! My wife joined me in 3 min and 2 min later the hostess came and asked us to leave! I spent 15 min in this place and was kicked out like garbage! Unbelievable. Do not come here with kids.

We only did the Happy Hour at the bar. Bartender was very nice and attentive. They had a great selection of HH food but beware they only give you 2 of each - at least we only got 2 of what we ordered. We enjoyed the Fried Bleu Cheese Olives (but they needed a little more Bleu Cheese), the Shrimp (wrapped in Wonton and deep fried) and especially the Zin Bites which are mini Beef Wellingtons.They also have a heated patio so you can people watch especially on Thursday nights when they have the street fair.

Happy Hour until 6:30pm at the bar and at select tables. this is what the web site advises. There were 6 of us and wanted to sit at one of the Select Tables on a Sunday evening when not one other person was in the place. we were advised by the Manager/Host no tables are available for Happy Hour inside only outside in 115 temps!! could understand this if the place were full but not one other table was occupied when we arrived inside and no table in the bar area was anyone seated when we left, we did not order what we would have and would not return. the Manager/Host needs to be a little more flexible. the service was slow and the food average only 2 items on the Prefix menu are at the base price everything else is an up-charge. plenty of other restaurants in PS to eat at with better options

This has been historically one of my favorite places in town. We have been going for years and normally sit at the bar for a quick bite and beer. Bar menu/happy hour was all night if you say at the bar. Now only from 4 to 6:30. Staff was rude when we asked when it changed, to find out it was only two weeks ago. But they told us we could go to their sister restaurant Reval a few doors down for cheaper food. Pretty poor customer service for one of our better restaurants. Sad.

Not sure where to start. I guess Ill just get right to it. I paid $50 for a 12 once steak that had about 6 once of fat on it. Was so bad I couldnt eat it. I ordered a martini that I couldnt taste any alcohol in. The waiter told us about the specials. You know the ones where you get an an appetizer, a main course, and a desert for one price. When the bill arrived it was all billed a la cart I had to pay for everything separately. When I asked the waiter what happened he directed me to the fine print on the menu. All I can say is WOW $200 check for a steak that was 1/2 fat and I couldnt eat and a plate of pasta that at best was just ok. Oh ya and I cant forget about my $12 martini that had no alcohol in it. Do your self and you date a favor and go elsewhere. Theres so many other better choices anywhere within walking distance from this place.

Beware the angry hostess.We arrived 15 minutes early and were directed to a bar area. After noticing 6 empty tables and no other customers waiting, a waiter put together empty tables for us. This infuriated the the woman who had checked us in. We apologized. Then she told us that we could not sit or order until our reservation time. While we stared at the empty tables, we realized that something was very off with the woman. She was way too angry for the situation. The staff looked frightened. To get away from her, we moved out to the sidewalk. She followed us out. We tried to calm her down. She seemed to want a fight. We just looking for a nice lunch.We left.Luckily, Azucar at La Sirena welcomed us. The food and service were friendly and professional. The decor was fabulous and the food delicious.A happy ending to a creepy experience.

The food was alright but the waiter being petted by a male customer and French kissed was totally not cool. A female waitress would have been fired by that kind of behavior. It put a different spin on the evening.In response to management: I should say that any wait staff professional should not act in that manner I described above. I really do not care which gender they relate to, but professional is professional. And the staff (and the customer) were TOTALLY unprofessional. Of course, I understand that it is difficult containing the behavior of clientele but clever, well-trained staff people can avoid this kind of activity if they choose to.

I orgered one it was watery the olives were missing the red pomento filling . The waitor over explained everything . No need for that detail on every item on the menue . I pointed this out to him while he came to get our card, he said something along the lines of, thats very astute of you to notice. And walked away. He never returned to our table. Its a dollar. Not a big deal when you drop $80 on lunch. But its my dollar. It makes me question if this is a common practice at the establishment and I just happened to catch it.

As a handicapped, senior citizen, Ive previously enjoyed many good, Sunday brunches at Zin American Bistro. The restaurant was accessible with the consideration of handicap parking at the rear door. Recently, I had reservations for Sunday brunch, but arrived to learn that the handicap parking has been replaced with pay-valet parking. The parking guard informed me that the cost to park would be $10.00, but if I wanted handicap parking, I would need to go down the street. Handicap parking was available two blocks away. After parking, and arduously making the two blocks back to the restaurant, the parking guard yelled across the street at me something about complaining to the owner if I didnt like the change. When I went inside, I talked to the owner, who informed me that the owner of the restaurant across the street and she had decided to replace the handicap parking with pay-valet parking for Sunday brunch. The parking for both restaurants is on private property where they are not required to have handicap parking. I also learned that the guard should have charged me $5.00 as a customer, not $10.00.To replace handicap parking with pay-valet parking, to me, represents a prejudice against handicapped citizens, discouraging them form using the facility. This represents an exploitation of handicap individuals who cannot make the two-block trek to handicap parking, but must pay the extra $5.00 or $10.00 to access the restaurant, which added to the $18.99 prix fixe brunch, makes this costly. The parking guard would benefit from training in communication skills.Ill not go back!

Sorry but this restaurant is way overpriced for what it offers. Came here for dinner with my family of three and we were not impressed with the food plus the prices are very high. For example, $42 for a mediocre 6oz filet mignon with average mash potatoes and ok spinach... also the portions were small. The check came out to $100 bucks with few drinks included and will never come back again. Please do yourself a favor and look for a different restaurant to eat.

Hostess Jazmin is their best asset. The food is pretty good and drinks could use a new day time bartender. The fact that they close at 3:30 and reopen at 5 every day is plain stupid. Makes no sense and they must lose out on a lot of potential business in high season. Every other eatery is packed at 4 pm on thursday nights and this place closes for an hour and a half.....making their customers rush to pay up so they can close for an hour and a half every day was incredibly annoying. The owner said: Happy hour is only at the bar and refused to show us where it was mentioned - it wasnt. Excellent food & service and the warmest & most welcome of finds during my April 2018 vacation. The xxx adult mac & cheese was SO good. The woman who took my order engaged in conversation and offered local recommendations (turned out to be Zins owner, Mindy Reed). Impressed with Zin because the owner herself was out and about engaged with her customers and made a girl dining by herself feel so welcome. Of all the restaurants I hit during my stay, Zin had the most professional staff. Very impressive.UPDATE: Dined at Zin twice Sept 2018. Excellent service from Martin both visits. Had the prime hangar steak. Excellent. Loved the zinfindel shallot butter sauce, which was a perfect match for the pomme frites. Bread pudding for dessert one night, and creme brulee the second visit. Creme brulee won. The house cabernet, Alias I loved. After the first visit, walked thru some local shops and came back later that night for a blueberry lemon drop martini. Yum!

What a scam !Reading the description of a US$ 17 Burrata salad, you’ll be expecting a substantial plate with tomato, salad and a full burrata. I should had done a picture of it but that only three tiny pieces of burrata lost on three slices of tomato lying on a old salad. Think about it but adding taxes and services that just scandalous. Ironically the plate of pasta taken by my partner was even cheaper. My advice : don’t event think of considering this place.
