Zak Barnett studios have been amazing in all aspects. Zak himself has went above and beyond for us, the entire staff Brian, Candace, Kim, Elaine, the info administrators, etc. Everyone has been awesome. The core classes, craft classes, one on ones for auditions, and all the panels have been exactly what my daughter needed. Being a member definitely benefits her and I have seen tremendous growth and sharpened attention to details in her self tapes and confidence. I would highly recommend them to anyone with a kid in the industry. Thanks for being so great, it is truly appreciated.

I had no background in acting when I decided to explore ZBS. I used to pass by the studio frequently and finally walked in one day to learn more. After talking to a representative, I walked out having signed up for a class!This studio is incredible, even for beginners like me. The team of master teachers and coaches is focused on honing your craft, and their patience makes the learning process very enjoyable and rewarding. Initially, I was intimidated since I had no experience in acting whatsoever, but the supportive environment quickly put me at ease.The staff is amazing. Ive only met Dan and Candace in person so far, and they have been incredibly helpful and kind. Michael Connors, my first and only teacher to date, is the faculty director and is simply incredible. Despite his extensive experience in film and TV, Michael has been patient with me, treating me as an empty canvas ready to absorb wisdom rather than an inexperienced newcomer. Zak Barnett himself is also very kind, genuinely caring, and humble.ZBS views acting as a lifelong journey of self-awareness and service, a journey to the whole-self, which is what I was looking for in the first place. I particularly love that all classes include elements of meditation and self-development work, almost like weekly therapy. They have been so impactful on my mental health and really enhance the overall experience.There is much more to be said about the studio and the people who work there, but I hope this encourages you to at least take that first step and meet with one of the staff members. You never know what might happen! Just know that if youre passionate about acting and willing to give your best, you will thrive and enjoy your investment at the studio.Highly recommended!

The teachers at Zak Barnett Studios have all provided unique strategies for the various types of acting, as well as techniques for this new era of zoom auditioning. The studio also offers special information sessions with various entertainment professionals who have provided insight on what is currently going on the industry and where they believe it is headed. Every minute we have spent with Zak and his staff has felt productive and worth the cost.

Ive been at ZBS for two stellar classes now. The teachers are caring and top notch. They are patient with both novices and seasoned actors alike. It feels like family. They truly are experts who care. I highly recommend learning from the wonderful team there. All admin also take LOTS of time with you to help you develop and the extra workshop opportunities are. very helpful and plentiful. I am a remote participant and I feel like Im there. My daughter GG has been attending Zak Barnett Studios since December 2023. GG really loves her coaches and the zoom meetings. The coaches are on top when we we talk about feedback, we get feedback from class as what are her good areas and areas of improvement. They go over scripts and let the kids understand what they need to work on and look for. Every week they get homework and they go over during class, and also, the coach give information such as scripts and genre sheet to go over so they are prepared and can participate in the next class. I would recommend ZBS to other actors to help them to improve there acting skills.

Zak Barnett has been such a wonderful experience since our son first started acting classes. They matched us with an excellent acting coach, Miguel Luciano who has been such a great mentor to our son. So far, our son has already learned so much in just a few months where he has developed in his skillsets in scene study, improv, and etc. We cannot wait to see how much more he will grow in the months and years to come. Also, we are truly grateful that Zak Barnetts classes includes a very well thought out curriculum that brings in a whole-listic approach because we try to teach both of our children mindfulness practices. The fact that they bring in meditation into their programming is such an important part of their lesson plans. I utilize mindfulness in my own curriculums for trainings in my line of work as well. I believe that this is a great approach when it comes to artistry, as it brings more intention to an artform. If an artist can pay attention and set intention, an artist can then harness and develop their character with even more depth and bring more meaning to the message they are trying to convey in their acting. I love that Zaks studios really brings this practice into their programming. and that they reaffirm this approach with my son. Weve also attended their Guest Speaker events which have also been pretty excellent where we really get to hear from phenomenal people with experience in the business. I think its important to really connect people with other people. In this business, networking is vital and what a gift it is when you find a place like Zaks that doesnt gatekeep their contacts. More professional studios need to have an approach like Zak Barnetts because while it may be a business it still is very whole people-centered with people who care a lot about the people they are teaching/coaching/co-learning and creating alongside with. What a wonderful place to be, that it has myself wanting to take up a class too! And maybe Ill return to entertainment, and this time as an actor?

Its been really great working with John. I was nervous at first that an online class wouldnt have the same punch as an in person one, but its been really fun and productive getting to work with students from all over the country and all walks of life. Our son, Paxton, has been attending ZBS for a year and we all love the experience. Paxton loves attending classes and is continually challenged to develop more authentic, nuanced characters. They also teach life skills that are helpful beyond acting. I’ve been in LA for almost 3 years & this has been my favorite acting class that I’ve taken..ever! It has transformed my career, mindset, & even my personal life! I personally love how it has a lot of spirituality, mindfulness, meditations, and exercises that almost feel therapeutic and allows me to dive deep into my subconscious. That is something I connect with deeply, so it put this career into a language I understood. I feel a lot more confident in my career and believing in myself that this is something I can do. I feel super comfortable with all of the teachers and classmates that I’ve been around and it has been a great community to jump into. In the short few months I’ve been at ZBS, I have gained a theatrical agent, booked my first lead role, gained great new tools, & found the confidence in myself and my work. I’ve started to enjoy self taping more and getting into the habit of constantly being on camera.. which was like pulling teeth for me because I lacked confidence with my choices in my tapes. Coming out of a very long hiatus, 20 plus years, I was super nervous about taking a class but I was so happy to find a safe, inspiring and creative space like ZBS. My crash course back into class was with Michael Connors and The Core class in which I learned so many subtle nuances I never knew went into each genre. The intermediate class with J.C. Brandy is amazing! She really gets your imagination and creativity going. The improv class is great for actors and writers. Whatever your level is, ZBS provides an amazing space for any actor to learn about the craft and actors process. So many great tools!!

My daughter who lives in Hawaii has been taking online acting classes from Zak Barnett Studios for quite some time now. She really enjoys attending her weekly classes with Ms. Sue-Kate, who is a very positive and encouraging teacher. ZBS has great acting instructors and staff members working there (:D. Lacey has grown & improved on her acting skills. Last summer during our trip in LA, our family visited ZBS. Candace, who was so awesome, chatted with us & showed us around their beautiful studio. What I love about this place is the community! You can tell that everyone here loves the craft and cares deeply about helping each other out. I’ve never once had a bad interaction and everyone is welcoming with open arms. It’s a safe place to really explore the depths of what it means to be human and more importantly on what it means to be you. Which has helped me in my acting journey tremendously and helped in my everyday life as well. Big thanks to my teacher Michael, who brings so much excitement and care into every class. My daughter Kensington Tallman loves working with Zak Barnett Studios! She takes the Whole Self Improv Class on Sundays with Sue Kate and she has learned so much from working with her. She has become more free in her performances and it has really helped translate to tangible results on set. I can see her creativity has soared because of this class. This has also helped her in her auditions both in live action and animation in how she approaches her scripts. Her lens is different and she can see things in a way she didnt prior to the class. Fantastic course and experience!! I have just completed the 16 week Art of The Breakout - The Personal Development Course for Actors. It really is a break-through experience! All online with modules that explore your journey as an actor and person, to date, and beyond. There is a wealth of rich material, ideas and exercises that examine where I am and my unlimited potential. An extremely supportive community environment led by Zak Barnett who is an insightful, supportive Master Teacher and guide. I started taking classes from ZBS in the beginning of 2022 and I truly feel that I have grown as an artist. My time here has helped me get out of my comfort zone, and Ive learned so much. I took the Core class with Michael Connors and I can say, without reservation, that it is the best, most instructive acting class I have ever taken. Michael has such an impeccable way of really seeing you, lovingly challenging you and knowing how to articulate his feedback in a way that enriches your work. And I adore that we meditate before each class. I even got the gift of an evening with John Lavelle, who is a delightful instructor and person who helped me enjoy doing comedy scenes more. I am planning on coming back to take his improv class soon. And of course there is Candace who is there with heartfelt business wisdom/advice. Needless to say, I highly recommend ZBS.

Let me just say this. Talent. One thing different about this studio is their course Art of the Breakout, I didn’t study a character. I studied myself. I learned about which emotions I’m suppressing, how to tap into them, how to snap back into certain emotions, and that led to me truly understanding me, my emotions, what triggers them and how to merge that with a character and emphasize with them. If you are looking for a studio that help you you with multiple areas of your career, business, pilot season, episodic season, genre, prep, auditions, self tapes, the business side of acting it’s all here! Zak Barnett studios has a ton of talented coaches, many still working or have very strong connections in the industry.I am beyond thankful to have met them. My auditions went from, ew omg why did I do that choice, why am I looking there, I see my thoughts, to no indications, noticing any weird hand or body movements, strong choices, unique choices, multiple methods at my disposal and I have even gotten auditions from the connections made at the studio.Personally, I feel so honored to have studied here and I still do. My daughter likes the teachers (they are all acting actors), and the studios vibe. She tells me that it is easy for her to show her personality, she enjoys learning sides and it also helps her to perform on stage without fear. Children in the game version understand what it means to be an actor.

I’ve been taking classes at ZBS for about 8 months now & I cannot begin to express how transformative my experience has been.Micheal is hands down one of my all-time favourite acting teachers.
