Beautiful ocean front hotel. We had an enjoyable stay and the highlight for us were the beachfront walking pathway (highly recommend doing that trail), the gorgeous and extensive beach, and the sunset. 😍The staff was great. The person who assisted us with vallet the car and taking our luggage to the room was excellent.Our room felt like a spacious 1 bedroom condo! It had a dining table, a seating area, 2 TVs, and 2 bathrooms! The only reason I knocked down stars from the bedroom is because we had people above us and sound insulation was poor. The second reason is because the way the room was designed, if the curtains were open, it felt like a fish bowl with people walking by very frequently right next to the glass sliding door.Nevertheless, Id stay in this property again.

What a hidden gem! This was my first time staying at the resort and it did not disappoint. We did a girls night with three moms and five daughters and had such a blast. We ate at the restaurant on site twice and it was delicious. The pool time was fun, especially the hot tub since it was a cooler day. And being right on the beach made it feel like a real vacation even though we were only one town away. We will definitely go back.

This is the third time we have stayed at the property and it will not be the last. It is the perfect getaway. The location is amazing. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are always clean, the view is gorgeous, and the amenities are top notch. I love the restaurant Ox & Ocean on site for a nicer sit down and always have the best time at The Dive playing shuffle board, darts, and the like while enjoying a drink and some apps mid afternoon. Ive stayed there with the kids and without and it is truly a great place for all. It caters to families and adults alike. I have recommended this hotel to so many friends who have all said this place is such a gem. I felt compelled to share as everything from the staff to the pool to the rooms and activities and amenities are something to write about. It is a 10 out of 10 for me and I will definitely be back! Hopefully sooner rather than later!

This is a beautifully landscaped facility with a nice layout, open air feeling to the facility. The service from the beginning to the end was excellent. The rooms were large, well appointed and ours had a great balcony view of the beaches and ocean. The facility had a large pool area, plenty of outdoor seating and dining with multiple fire pits for a comfortable, cozy outdoor atmosphere. The only negative I have about the layout is that you had to go through the gated pool area to get to some of the rooms. Food was good for hotel food and reasonably priced.

TERRIBLE service and not worth the money. The front office staff is rude and unaccommodating. Rooms being cleaned are a joke - they only empty trash cans. When we arrived at the pool (both days) there were no clean towels and trash all over the side of the pool. It seems obvious that there are day passes for people who do not stay at the hotel - people leave trash by the pool and jacuzzi. And WOW - the inappropriate adult sexual behavior - I had to remove my children from the jacuzzi area because there were adults clearly getting it on. Good for you - but get a ROOM and PAY FOR IT.

Stayed with my daughters, the resort is nice, grounds are beautiful and the rooms are clean. The resort is lacking in food and beverage options and what is available is at a premium price. Plus in the morning the breakfast food truck has a very small menu and takes a long time to get food. For example, 30 minutes for a coffee and churo. We stayed at a time when the hotel didn’t seem very busy (Sunday - Tuesday), I would be concerned what the wait and service times would be when the hotel is at full capacity.

Stayed at Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton, on Tuesday night during our road trip. We arrived at midnight, and the front desk staff (apologies, Im bad at remembering names) went above and beyond to assist us. Given the size of the property, she personally walked us to the building where our room was located, which was greatly appreciated.As a Diamond Hilton member, we were upgraded to a suite that looked directly at the beach, which was a fantastic surprise. We also received a $30 credit for breakfast, which was a nice perk. The valet parking was $38, which seemed reasonable for the area.Overall, the service and amenities at Zachari Dunes exceeded our expectations, making for a memorable and pleasant stay.

The service has been amazing 🤩 we have been a couple times now. It’s perfect for families traveling with children. This resort has daily activities for the kids. We’ve done the Planting strawberries, cooking making, bubble party, dance parties.Highly recommend ordering the Henry’s Hammer 🔨 such a decadent meal. You order it the day before and the chef serves it to you tables side.They offer fitness classes that were great. I did the CrossFit class along with the yoga 🧘🏻‍♀️ classes

Hidden gem on beach. Restaurant is pretty good, but expensive and got tired of it after a couple visits. They don’t have a lot of choices. Dog friendly. Rooms are okay, but really liked attached patios on ground floor. Nice beach paths. Park next door. Bike rentals were fun.

My family and I have been coming to this locations for years. But until the recent ownership change, we were never fully happy. Let me tell you, as Zachari Dunes, this locations has truly been elevated. The rooms have been beautifully updates (this is an all-suite property), the ocean views and proximity to the beach are still incredible, and there is so much to do for everyone. Our most recent visit was one with the kids. They loved playing in the game room, had the best time in the pool, did crafts and a freeze dance at the tennis courts, played basketball... you can rent video game consoles and Nintendo Switches, so if your kids simply NEED their game time, you can offer that. We dined at Ox & Ocean on property, as well as Sugar Beats.We rented beach chairs, boogie boards, and bikes... there is no lack of fun to be had as a family.Now, this locations is simply perfect for romantic getaways, and even girls trips. The spa is lovely, there is Yoga on the beach. There is just so much for whatever type of trip you desire. We absolutely love this as our getaway.

The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is very hospitable and friendly.I love the extra large Jacuzzi and the beachfront access. They also have a lot of daily activities including some free beach rentals.Its a great vibe here and Im loving it 🥰The only thing is to remember theres tar in these waters so be mindful of your feet and shoes getting dirty. The front desk gave me wipes that did the trick so that was super helpful!

I spent two days and a night here for a conference and had a great experience. Staff was super kind and my room was very comfortable, even offering 2 bathrooms! The location cant be beat and I enjoyed a chilly morning walk at the beach before my conference. Perfect way to start the day!

Expect to pay an ADDITIONAL $72.00 per night with the resort fee and parking fee combined. The Resort fee is $35.00 per night and the parking is $38.00 per night.Next: the food is subpar and massively over priced. In fact everything at this resort is passively over priced. $18.00 for two coffees is just one of many price scams this resort runs.Service was really bad as well.The front desk told us the rentals were free with our room. But then when we checked out they said that the rentals were part of the resort fee…. So definitely NOT FREE. I was unable to connect to the WiFi as well.Location is great and all that but just be prepared to pay a lot extra per night. Expect for the food to be just okay. And don’t expect four or five star service.Rooms were pretty nice and big.

We reserved the Sugar Beats venue for my son’s rehearsal dinner venue. The serving staff was the best! However, the venue itself was next to a swampy pond with minimal seating on top of lumpy fake grass. We were charged well over $3000 for less than 50 people. The temp dropped in the evening and we were given one heat lamp to crowd around. Our menu was hotdogs and hamburgers, very mediocre and definitely not 5 star worthy or worth the price.The rooms are very outdated, plumbing is horrible. The shower was unusable unless you’d like water sprayed all over the bathroom floor. Food is way overpriced and just ok. Expect to pay $20 on average for a cocktail. Equipment rental isn’t free even though we were told it’s complimentary with our stay. The views are gorgeous if you reserve a beach front room, but again, not worth the cost.The best part about our stay was the hotel staff. So friendly and welcoming! Too bad the hotel itself doesn’t equal up to the staff. Picture below of our $60 dollar breakfast, 2 scrambled eggs with bacon and avocado toast. The avocado toast had part of the skin in it as well. We won’t be back.

I wanted to LOVE this hotel, because it was a big splurge for the last 3 days of our trip. We had two rooms. There were just SO MANY things that were bad...First, the good: The beds are very comfortable. Pillows, meh. Pool nice, clean, towels available. ROOMS: The rooms are large.The bellman upon arrival, Brennan, was excellent. VIEW of the beach is lovely.. See below for oil and tar warning.And now for the restFirst impression of the room: - There was urine and toilet paper in the toilet when we arrived at the room. I called and asked for an immediate cleaning of the bathroom. That didnt happen for 2 hours.- Room noise: In some areas, on the second floor, the 3rd floor walkway is over your room.. So... there are people walking and running and talking loudly over your room all night. We had two of those second story rooms. So we had to switch both of our rooms to a third story room the second day. They gave a $50.00 credit for two rooms having to be moved. Thats it. Not $50 per room to compensate for complete sleeplessness, $50 total.- Air conditioner noise was grinding and loud in all the rooms we were in.- Walls paper thin between rooms on the same level, and upper and lower.RESTAURANT: Dinner menu - some big hits, some big misses. Way expensive. With no alcohol, dinner for 4 was $308 including tip. The thing is, we didnt order alcohol. This was just the food price. We loved the brussels appetizer, and also the mussels. My husband loves sea bass, and was completely unimpressed - no seasoning, massive amount of pearl couscous, a few pieces of butternut squash. Breakfast delicious, but way overpriced. AND breakfast is over and closed at 10:30, which is ridiculous. They sent us to the outside breakfast burrito place which is average at best.THE BEACH - you WILL GET OIL TAR ALL OVER YOUR FEET. They know this, because there was an EMPTY tar removal wipes when youre coming back in. But theres no warnings when you check in from the front desk, or on the gate on your way to the beach. When we asked for tar wipes, we were told that the hotel was completely out, so we spent 30- minutes apiece (no exaggeration) cleaning off the tar with soap and water, scrubbing with a washcloth. They delivered tar wipes to our room 6 hours later.MAINTENANCE:ELECTRIC CAR CHARGER: Two months ago when we were here, we informed the front desk that the two electrical outlets were not secured into the electrical box. Its hazardous and could produce an arc of electricity. They said THANK YOU well get RIGHT ON THAT. Two months later.... its exactly the same. Not fixed in two months.- The maintenance man was cleaning the roof of the garage directly above our car and left it with dirty water all over the roof of the car. We were leaving that morning, so we just left. We wont be back. The front desk must get so tired of having to say Im sorry

This was previously an Embassy Suites. The underground parking was a bit high in price at $38 per night self parking. The rooms were nice but a little dated. We had an ocean front suite with a porch. The bathrooms were stocked with body wash, conditioner, and soap, which is nice when flying. With a suite, a larger refrigerator would have been nice. Overall, we had a good experience. How can such a fine establishment hire Nejyredth Valasquez, this bartender scams people outside of work! Her and her partner Anthony Nunez Jr stoled my dead pet Mimi and charged me almost $700 to cremate her remains but instead dumped her god knows where, I still have yet to receive my beloved pets remains! They have done this to over 100 pet parents, and I won’t rest until they’re held accountable! You are godless monsters that no one should give the time of day to! I hope you all get what you deserve. You will remember what you did to us, I’ll make it my life’s mission to take you monsters down!

Quiet, relaxing, and exceptional hotel operation with superb grounds and amenities. I came in December, so things may have been a little quieter than usual, which I appreciated, but Im sure even during high traffic times, there is ample space for all guests to spread out and find a quiet space to unwind in. The pool and jacuzzi are excellent. The beach access is effortless, and the surf is pretty good too. There are some things to do just outside the hotel grounds, but a lot (if not all) of what you need is otherwise right there at your fingertips. I highly recommend if visiting the area.

The service here is abhorrent. The A/C was broken in my room the night that I stayed here and my it was extremely hot. Housekeeping could not fix it and I was unable to switch rooms. I spoke to multiple night shift staff who directed me to talk to the manager, Vanessa, who I was told would be able to compensate me or rectify the situation in some way, seeing as my room was well over 80 degrees making it impossible to sleep. When I spoke with Vanessa about it the following day, I was essentially told to get lost if I wanted even a partial reimbursement for the cost of my stay. I stay in many hotels for work and travel and have never seen this type of rudeness or ineptitude with any manager or staff at a Hilton property.

The overall resort complex is very nice in terms of design and layout and cleanliness. They have great amenities such as a large heated pool and hot tub which are actively used by families with children. The gym is actually quite good for a hotel and I appreciate it access to weights and mats. There was also a game room with a pinball machine and a basketball hoop shooting game. But some things didnt sit right with me such as the exorbitant parking fee of around $36 a day, the stinginess when I came out to lending board games, the location of our room in particular was horrendous. The patio door opens out to the elevator entrance and our front door was at the end of the corridor so it was like Grand Central station every morning and evening. We didnt get any natural light an hour room the entire day. But the fact that we could walk outside our corridor to the back of the complex and straight onto the sand dunes, was pretty cool.

My reservation isn’t until this June, however, Ailani has already provided some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a while. I called regarding the presidential suite and had very specific questions and she went above and beyond to get them answered. She even went as far as to ask for my number so that she could check with her manager snd call me back within the hour to verify that the information she was offering me was in fact what I needed in order to make an informed decision when booking my set of rooms. I am grateful for her patience and her cherry disposition and can’t wait to meet her this June. Good customer service is hard to find and I’m grateful when I get to encounter people who love hospitality and it shows.

Room smells moldyBedding a moisture and I had do redo my bed with dry sheets but it didn’t help a lot because mattress s moist es well. We had to sleep on multiple towels. A standard room has only an escalator/staircase view picture 5). So it’s more a view for the people coming out of the escalator looking in our room. It’s already dark but we have to keep the curtains always closed.Before they changed the name from embassy suites hotel to this one they had furniture with flair now it’s more cheap like feeling with a mix of different styles and year periods.Cleanliness of the hotel is comparable with motels.Dog fee per dog 175 dollar but it’s more money making than cleaning fee.And the staff does not let us feel as a customer who wants 3 day vacation. “The customer is always right” is in this hotel not applicable, even they offer us for the next day after a long discussion a garden view room for the next day. I lost my relaxation of my 3 day vacation.Two good thinks to say: super location I would wish they wouldn’t have chance the embassy suit hotel yo this one. And the bathroom has little nicer flair (but with cheap faucets)

We got locked out on our balcony because the lock doesnt pop out when you go outside. They know about this issue. We called them 4 times to be let back in and almost had to call the fire department because they didnt come. It was cold and raining.

This hotel is seriously a best kept secret and I was surprised there were not more people staying here. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this property to anyone. The location to the secluded beach, the view from the ocean view rooms, and the amenities truly made for a wonderful stay. So much so that we forgot to check out at 11 am, thinking it was a 12 pm checkout. Thank you for everything and we will definitely be back.

Overly priced (especially when you throw in parking and resort fee, whatever that is) and has that outdated feel. First let me say that the staff is fantastic; very nice and always ready to help. I also appreciated being able to reach room service by text, and they always responded quickly.But things just seem to break or not well adjusted. Both the light and fan above the dining table would go on at any time of day or night. Apparently the wireless switches in multiple rooms use the same code and ... this couldnt have been figured out?Gates sometimes didnt work with the key cards, so either had to be left unlocked (security issue) or I had to find a working gate to get from the beach into the resort.Motion-activated bathroom lights went out, plunging the entire room into complete darkness while I was still in it.Theres a food truck (or trailer) in the resort thats supposed to be open breakfast/lunch/dinner according to the materials they gave us. But it closes even before its breakfast hours are up and doesnt reopen the rest of the day.Food at the main restaurant is decent, but dont expect a bargain just because youre staying there. They give you free 2 hours of equipment rental of all the equipment we didnt want to rent; they excluded bikes, which really are the perfect thing to rent to use along the beach path.If you must stay at the beach in Oxnard, this is the place. But if youve got a choice, avoid. This place seem more geared toward small conventions or families with kids small enough to enjoy the pool.

A very nice place to stay with kids. They have a great restaurant on the property. The room is clean and comfortable. One downside was that we asked for a blanket for our kids at 11 pm and had to wait 1.5 hours for it. I called them three times. Self-parking is $36, and valet parking is $40. They only have two chargers for electric cars, so we didnt have a chance to charge our car.

Overall we had a good stay. The hotel is right next to the beach and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby for dining. Theres also a pretty neat park right next to the hotel. The kids really enjoyed the family bike cart from Henrys rentals. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. The dining space is great for families. The beds were comfortable and they even use real feathered pillows. The pool and hot tub were spacious and clean. They also offer towels to dry off. The hotel is older but they did a lot of remodeling. The lobby is very beautiful. Our only complaint is that they fix their breakfast package because it is a confusing scam. When you purchase the breakfast package it states that breakfast is included but they dont mention that you only get a $25 credit per person and you have to order from their ox and ocean restaurant where the breakfast ranges from $19 and up. So you dont have enough to cover your $8 coffee. In addition to that, they charge you an automatic 18% gratuity even if you place a to-go order. Thats not all, you also have to pay a tax on each meal. So for just two adults we were averaging $67 for breakfast. I dont drink coffee, so only my husband ordered coffee. Look at my attached photo where my husband ordered steak and eggs and our total came out to be $83! We talked to the staff about this and they actually honored the breakfast package for us and credited each meal. Hopefully they make changes for the future otherwise its not worth buying the breakfast package. Theres plenty of great cafes nearby for half the price. So if youre planning to get the breakfast package, I would suggest to call ahead and go over the details so that theres no surprises.Also beware of the hardened oil spots on the beach. They look like black shiny rocks but if you step in it, they will stick to you and stain your feet/shoes. Weve never seen anything like it so it wasnt a fun time figuring out what it was. We were able to wash it off with soap and were extra careful on the beach for the remainder of the stay. I have included pictures so you will know what to look out for.

I would give location a 10 star if I could. The food and service were nice. The rooms were okay. Mine smelled old, had to febreeze daily and wipe down ants in my bathroom. The carpet was kind of old. I did not get any Hilton gold perks like early check in and late check out. I was looking forward to that. With all of that being said, I will return. The food was pretty good. The activity rentals were convenient and the lobby was a nice place to relax in while waiting for my room to be ready. Just dont expect the rooms to be as nice as the lobby. This place is well worth your time and funds.

It would’ve been great if the hotel handled my situation better. After everything I went through, they only offered to remove my resort fees which is basically nothing compared to what I paid for the room. It was over $400 a night for an oceanfront suite. And the air conditioning wasn’t even working. I called to have someone come and no one ever did. The vent was falling off. The floors felt like they had sand so they weren’t clean. I ordered room service and it was disgusting. It wasn’t good at all. For what you pay, and for this to be a Hilton hotel, it really needs to be in better shape. Security banged on my door and tried to put a guest in my room while I was eating and they basically told me to pack my stuff and leave, even though I was staying another night, so I had to go to the front desk and they moved me into a new room even though they could’ve put the guest in the new room I was checked into. Nothing made sense. I was very frustrated. I would never come back.

I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. We booked a garden suite to celebrate our anniversary. The room we were assigned was in the Golden Building (G) on the second floor. At first glance the room looked okay. But it was not okay. Not okay at all. They had installed an electric air freshener to attempt to mask the incredible smell of must and mold in the room. There was sand on the floor in the bathroom, fruit flies buzzing around the sink, and a gross gunk hanging from the faucet. The smell in the room was unbearable. We asked to be moved and we were put in the “I” building with absolutely no view and we were greeted with another musty smelling room. This hotel is disgusting. Our bags and all of our clothes smelled musty when we returned home from staying there for just one night. The restaurant was fine. We sent back the steak tartare because it tasted like iron and blood. They must have used a frozen piece of beef and let it thaw in it’s own blood. It was disgusting. I am very disappointed with this “3 star” hotel from Hilton. $60 resort fee and $35 per day parking. Beware. This place is an absolute rip off. I’ve stayed at nicer Days Inns than this.

First off, this was the best place to stay for my short business trip. Perfect weather, clean beach and a room to match. I forgot I was on a work trip. My room had a view of the ocean which I took full advantage of. My patio was private and quiet. I loved the atmosphere of the entire hotel and the staff were kind and professional throughout my stay.The restaurant on-site was good and they had delicious drinks to go with the menu. They have a outside and indoor bar too so you can either take advantage of the beautiful weather or stay inside to relax. The pool area was good, I didn’t take advantage of it but it was pretty to look at the waterfalls around it.And did I mention that it’s literally next to the beach? Right there was a gate that opened up to this huge beach access. I noticed this hotel had rentals on site for those that want to rent bikes to ride on the bike path.Overall, this place was very relaxing and I look forward to coming back again.

I just got back from a visit to Hilton’s Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Bay in Oxnard. I’d been before when it was an Embassy Suites, but this time it was totally updated with new furniture, food and services. My vacation was A+ and I can’t recommend it enough. First of all the location is truly magnificent!! The first day I walked about a mile down the beach and then explored the harbor/marina.The second day I went down the Pacific Coast Highway to Santa Monica. I love how it doesn’t feel commercial or touristy and the beach is pristine. The room was spacious and beautiful and had a balcony with a view of the ocean. It also had both a refrigerator and a microwave. I always check cleanliness first thing and I was totally satisfied with how clean it was. One of CA most beautiful location’s to stay at, beach front resort with friendly staff. 2 bathroom 1 bedroom suites large enough for a family to have equal amounts of space. We love it here, the heated pool was amazing when the weather was a bit chilly, live music on weekends. The early morning walks on the beach were breathtaking, attendants at the pool will serve drinks and food, our attendant was Ethan Gould and he went over and beyond to make our experience great here. Our family will continue to make memories at this resort, it kid and pet friendly.1 small inconvenience, food options were not that great! But you can leave the hotel for other places to eat.

The Zachari Dunes Resort has so much to offer. They can provide you with many options on the site. The have a perfect place to ride bikes, snorkel, and play tennis. The rooms are perfectly placed beachfront. The pool is large and accommodating. The restaurant has really good food. The rooms are clean. But most of all, the staff is excellent. They are professional while being very fun and helpful. It was a beautiful experience. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

There’s no doubt the hotel is in a beautiful location. The beach is great and the amenities of the hotel are nice when we arrived our front bathroom toilet was leaking staff dead arrive quickly to repair the toilet. They resealed it and told us that the toilet needed to be replaced, and that there are repairs just temporary. The hotel did not offer to come clean the front bathroom as there was water all over the floor from the leaking toilet, the pull out couch sheets were covered in hair and were very dirty. The patio was covered in spiderwebs and spiders, including black widows. Our daughter did get bit by something and developed a big welt. Overall, the location in the hotel is very nice. However, there is a little room for improvement on customer service and cleanse leanness of the hotel rooms.

This is a very good hotel that has the potential to be outstanding. The primary assets are the location and room price point but a couple improvements could move it to the exceptional category.1. Offer courtesy beach towels, beach chairs and umbrellas. If not courtesy, then at a nominal cost. Free beach towels and $5 per day chair and umbrella rentals would be ideal. Instead of trying to charge $30-40/hr. This hotel has to cater to beach goers. Right now theyre trying to nickel and dime visitors and its noticeable.2. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Theyve been well updated. The issue is the AC doesnt work. It can make sleeping very uncomfortable if youre used to cooler temps when sleeping. Windows open dont help enough and can be unsafe. Just get the AC working.3. Reasonably priced food options would be nice.Otherwise this is a very good hotel. A few steps away from being amazing. Its on the horizon though if they want it to be.

The hotel and service is great! However, I had an unpleasant experience here. We got the “beach view” room where we have access to the beach from our patio. There was a man peeping through our sliding door and banging on the door. I was terrified! He sat outside for about 10 more minutes. And after that, all the constant noises really gave me anxiety. Very uncomfortable stay!I’ve never felt so unprotected in a hotel. I would definitely never bring my children here.For $500-600 a night, I expected to feel safe but didn’t even get the bare minimum.

While the hotel is located on a beautiful beach, and some of the areas like the lobby are renovated and nice, the hotel is clearly poorly managed and not maintained as a 4 star hotel. A group of 10 teenagers who were not hotel guests entered the pool and Jacuzzi area at night and made noise and the hotel staff did not care much.We could hear the footsteps of the guests in the room above, and the guests in the room next to us went into our balcony and took the chairs. All the small details such as the toilet paper were low quality and cheap, the towels were cheap and some had stains, and overall this was far from being worth 300-400$ a night. Told the hotel at checkout and they did not seem to care. Would not recommend.

(King Lanai Suite facing the pool) Oversized vehicle parking is kind of a joke, the lot is tiny. There’s a small lot closer to the rooms but apparently it’s only for staff and deliveries. Master bed was comfortable but the sofa bed was not meant for adults. It’s definitely for kids who can sleep anywhere. We had a power outage in the middle of our stay for several hours in the evening which is out of the hotels control, but I feel they should have a generator backup for more emergency lighting.Drinks and food is extremely overpriced at the restaurant but I’ll put in a separate review.The only complaint I really have is the lack of trashcans around the facility and they only have a few small trashcans in the room which is a too small when you have a kitchenette area.

Recent renovations are really nice. There are a lot of fun activities. The staff and the management are first rate - very friendly and accommodating. The beds are luxurious! However:1. The elevators to our 3rd floor suite were out of order the duration of our stay, which was highly inconvenient, especially carrying beach gear and luggage.2. It’s perfectly mediocre. I expected more updates after Hilton took control. I was there over a weekend in May on business and found the Saturday afternoon to be packed with obnoxious drunks. I was solo but not very appealing for families, of which there were many. Great guitarist at the bar. Bar was crowded and the staff struggled to keep up. Long waits. Expensive but decent drinks. Did not eat at the hotel. Menu at the Ox and Ocean looked limited, as did the wine list but have heard positive reviews. Suites are spacious but very dated, maintaining the old Embassy Suites charm. Carpets in the hallways are stained and disgusting. Paint peeling in the rooms, motel shower curtains. No hot water (Beach unit) for two days. The gym is excellent. Overpriced for what you get but then options in Oxnard are limited. $36 for self parking, which they charged me even though I didn’t drive.Go with low expectations and it will be fine.

Parking was convenient. The burger and fries from Ox & Ocean was one of the best burgers weve ever had and the strawberry hand pie was delicious! Prospective travelers, despite its fancy pics and resort fees, this is not a fancy property and its not a resort. I read many of the reviews for this property and turned a blind eye to a few but now after booking a three night stay I can tell you what you read is what you get. First, lets address the good. The lobby is beautifully renovated. The decor is esthetic and pleasing to the eye. The rooms are HUGE and newly renovated! We had a one bedroom king suite with a sofa bed. There was a medium size fridge and a microwave and small sink-enough to be able to have a small breakfast in the room. The rooms have two full bathrooms which is super convenient if traveling with kids. Heres what was not so great. We were in the carefree section. Our room was adjacent to the trash bins. When we opened our front door we were looking at a bunch of trash bins and flies swarming around and it was pretty uninspiring. Our balcony opened to the courtyard with sad old Vegas inspired waterfalls surrounded by a few old palm trees. The balcony door didnt have a screen door so we had to keep it shut to avoid the flies coming into the room. The hotel is understaffed. It took housekeeping 45 minutes to bring an extra pillow and two blankets for our kids to sleep on the sleeper sofa. The first morning I woke up and took a shower and when I went to grab a folded towel I noticed a big stain on it. I want to grab another towel and all three bath towels were dirty. We then called the front desk and it took them 40 minutes to bring up towels. We had requested daily housekeeping but no one came to fix the room on our second day. When we called to complain they said they had many rooms to service but claimed they were not understaffed! The pool is blah. The beach area is blah. The area around the hotel is industrial farmland and you generally feel like youre in the middle of nowhere. We had paid for late checkout at 2. On our last day we went out for breakfast and came back to being locked out of our room. Had to go to the lobby and wait 10 minutes in line to get our key reactivated. This place is not cheap and you dont get what you paid for. Our trip cost an average of $600+ a night. If not for the size and comfort of the room, the trip would have been a complete miss. We will not be returning to this property.

Although the grounds and the inside of the room was very nice, we were extremely disappointed in many other things. For the price we paid, this shouldve been like a top notch property but it was not. For one, there was false advertising of the room type. I paid A LOT extra for an upgraded room type that told me (via the picture and description) that I beach entry. I did not. Our room lead right out to a sand dune and huge berm that we could just not walk over to get to the beach. I couldve saved $100 or more per night on the room and had the same access to the beach. There was no housekeeping service unless we requested. We did one day and they only cleaned half our room and did not even replenish all of our towels and coffee. There was a light over the table that kept coming on in the middle of the night freaking us out. The room was extremely hot and when we called the desk, they did come and fix it, not sure how that wasnt noticed before. They had no idea on how to fix the light though. The hallways were usually filled with trash and piles of bedding and towels. I felt like I was staying in an economy lodge. When advising the front desk (twice) of this, I got an apology but no real satisfaction. I would NOT recommend my friends to stay here there is nothing that this hotel offers that you cannot get down the road.

The hotel itself is on an amazing property. My family and I loved opening the patio and heading straight towards the beach. The pool was fantastic and well kept. The hotel is gorgeous in and out. The room was great, all the amenities were properly stocked and clean. If we needed anything, we were able to find it. Key word is find though. If you need anything, you will have to do the legwork. The service was not great for a 4-star hotel. The employees seem jaded and almost annoyed that we placed orders for things. The bartender at the Dive Bar near the pool was unpleasant and not friendly in the least bit. We had to ask a minimum of four times for a status on any food order placed there. And the food itself is mediocre at best. We spent a lot of cash to get away and do not deserve bad service. The prices are insanely high, so keep that in mind. You will spend a ton for not very much. It was much cheaper to go to the Vons down the road and stock up. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely go again. I do hope they improve on service and maybe give the employees a refresher on communicating with guests who pay a lot to stay there.

The resort seems to be very old and they tried to revamp some part of the rooms (like showers).The building and rooms need a huge refresh.The doors dont close properly, there is no natural light in the room, the bedroom window faces the corridor which offers no privacy. You have to leave the curtains always closed to get some privacy.The outdoor space wasnt private nor secure, everyone could literally walk in our space and see inside our room. Everyone going from their rooms to the beach had to pass in front of our room.You had to violently whack the door to close it and repeat it a few times to manage to close it.The worst thing was the noise from the room upstairs, every single step from the occupant resulted in a huge creak and squeaky noise. You could hear everything, steps, things falling, people talking.There were flies circling around in a few spots, in the corridors, on our outdoor terrace.The curtains were stained and didnt look very appealing to the eyes.The room numbers on the sign arent properly labelled and it took us 3 back and forth to find our room.The outdoor gates to the beach didnt work with the magnetic cards.We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but left after the first awful night. The staff didnt argue and allowed us to get a refund for the 2 following nights.The beach looked nice from the bedroom.What a disappointment for a famous hotel chain.Stay away from there

Spent a week on vacation with 10 family members. We had to change rooms after the first night as the 1st floor rooms have a musty smell. The 2nd and 3rd floor rooms are much better. The location is on the beach, its a good walk over the sand but once there it was nice. It got windy in the late afternoon, so we just went back to the pool and hot tub. Be prepared for tons of hidden charges. A room that was $360 a night turned into $611 a night. You should know this before booking they are going to charge many resort fees, suite fees, etc. on your bill.The hotel is a nice hotel, but not for the price. This place has seen better days - not worth the $. The halls smell, the furniture is worn. They are having a lot of room maintenance issues, the first night we didnt have a/c or heat. The shower pressure is terrible. The location was nice - close to the beach, decent pool, and nice staff. Beware - you will pay an extra $30+ a day resort fee on top of the rate. And $36 to self-park. Even as a Hilton gold member, you do not get any breakfast (continental or otherwise).

My daughter & her family recently stayed there (7/12/23), & was robbed by a staff member with no camera footage after spending 30 minutes away from their room. This trip was not only traumatic for them but mostly for my 5 year old granddaughter and her 10 year old cousin. They have been on the phone with their so-called security and management with no positive outcome or resolution. Several items were stolen including an Apple Watch which my daughter was able to track. She gave them the address and still nothing from staff. Soon the watch died & was charged & it showed that it was back at the resort!!! Obviously it was a staff member but management are STILL IN DENIAL!! I would NEVER recommend this place to anybody!! If you choose to stay there be aware it is NOT safe nor is there any help or concern from staff when it comes to their own staff stealing from paying customers. And to top it off it was my granddaughters 5th birthday celebration/family vacation!! With our law enforcement background, we did most of the footwork on our end!!

Full transparency I did not pay for my stay here, so I believe my 3 stars to be a little generous, would probably give it 2 if I did pay seeing how expensive it was vs the issues.You can tell its a resort with old bones with a face lift, while my suite was great I had the unfortunate happening of either being put under a guest that practices Rain dances every morning or a utility closet of some sort where there is alot of squeaking an pounding at 7 every morning, either way thin ceilings to say the least (biggest issue). 36 dollar parking is also expensive IMO. The gym if it had a lat pull down machine would make a world of difference in there for the avid gym goer. Tvs are not smart tv so no apps so you are stuck with 20 channels 10 being news or sports ( smart tvs are so cheap no excuse). Also while writing this review on the toilet I racked my elbow on the awkwardly placed toilet paper holder.

My sister in law is in a wheel chair and they went above and beyond to make sure she was happy. They even had a beach wheel chair we were able to use. This hotel was amazing. I went on a trip to California from Michigan. I wanted to stay at a beachside hotel, so I went here. The rooms were very nice. It was a 2 room suite with 2 queen beds and 2 bathrooms. There is a very nice pool on site along with a great restaurant. There is also an accessible beach from the hotel. We got here three hours early and I cannot understand why the staff can’t create a method to clean a room earlier if you check in with the staff. The food is mediocre really nothing special about it. I’m just appalled more about how you can’t get your guests in earlier to enjoy all the amenities that you offer here. Rooms are beautiful and view and lovely. Please find a way to get your guests in earlier! We all pay good money to be here.

I do not recommend this resort. The carpet in the hallway, to get to my room, was stained and there was trash in the hallways, which took the employees hours to pick it up. I also had to text Henrys to let them know there was a full trash bin, since the day prior, which again, took the employees hours to remove. The carpet in my room was damp. The area next to the bike rentals smelled really bad. The pool was never cleaned while I stayed at this resort; I observed oil inside the pool (I guess from the guest sunscreen). Again I do not recommend this resort!

We have been coming to Mandalay Bay in Oxnard for 11 years. We were ao disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms since its been changed to Zachari Dunes. We found a finger nail in the bathroom. Yellow stains on the sheets and body hair in the showers. I had to get antibacterial wipes to clean the room because we werent certain if it had been clean. I told the staff when I checked out to make sure the rooms are clean so they wont get any more complaints. We are really disappointed and probably never coming back. We have been coming with our kids since they were small and always brought family. The hotel is supposed to be now upscale since its been changed but really its just dirty.

This was absolutely the most beautiful place we have ever stayed!!! Nothing can compete with views of the dunes and the ocean where the hotel is located at. I almost don’t want to write a review, so that I can keep it the hidden diamond gem that it is. I have lived in Southern California for many years, and traveled up and down the coast and all around this beautiful state. I literally think this is the most beautiful location I’ve ever seen. The hotel is lovely, and the larger rooms are large enough for family to gather. We had a family celebration at the hotel and ended up staying way longer than planned, because we didn’t want to leave the hotel!!!! We had plans to go to other hotels and locations and travel a bit, but after checking into Hilton Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, we didn’t want to leave and canceled the other hotels to instead spend the whole rest of the vacation at Zachari Dunes resort!!! This is truly a resort too, with an amazing gourmet restaurant, activities, and room service… I think we tried almost every item on the “Ox and Ocean” restaraunt menu, it was that GOOD!!!!! The brunch menu, for real, has the best pancakes you will ever eat, just to give you one example. The Henry’s rental place is also such a fun addition to staying at the resort. Every day you get a rental, and we had some of our best memories of the stay doing some of the activities. Corn hole on the sandy beach at a perfect sunset, is SO much more fun than I’ve ever had playing before, and the record player is fun to rent too, they have good taste in the music selections for rent as well. It was so much fun, I really look forward to going back. I’d recommend this to anyone, I think it is both family friendly yet also romantic. They allow your fur babies to come too, which is elemental to us, as what would a family gathering be without those members of the family! I can’t say enough good things about this hotel, our whole family loved it!!!!

Tried to reserve an event room for a family dinner and experienced the worst service ever from a hotel. Specifically Tiffany Emch was the one who provided such poor service. I asked if we could reserve a room for a family dinner where we would pay for catering and just enjoy each others company and share pictures on a projector screen. At first they were receptive and Tiffany emailed me a room that would work and stated the price to reserve the room and catering. It all sounded good to me and I agreed and got back to them with the number of people that would attend and what food option we wanted. They said ok and they would get back to me with a contract. Days passed and no correspondence. I called two separate times to check on the status as the date of the event was less than a month away. Each time they said they would get back to me and I could still have the room but each time we needed Tiffany and she was not available. Eventually my mom went to the hotel in person to get the contract settled. They even told my mom Tiffany was at the hotel but she could not see Tiffany cuz she didnt have an appointment. How can we get an appointment when we cant even get her on the phone? Anyways never got back to us and we made alternate arrangements. We were ready to pay thousands of dollars and even that wasnt enough to get good customer service. Honestly just very weird and confusing. We agreed to the price and rules and everything. Sounded like we just werent important enough to Tiffany to finalize the deal.

I’ve stayed at this hotel for almost 30 years and am so disappointed with my most recent visit. One change no one told me about at check- in was that you can no longer grab a luggage cart in self parking and take your own things to your room. I had to go back to the lobby from the garage in search of a luggage rack to find this out. Such a ridiculous change and an inconvenience. I brought a dog and didn’t receive the doggy welcome kit when I checked in and only learned about it in the restaurant. When I made my first cup of coffee in my room, it was cold. I had to have the machine replaced. On my fourth night here I was locked out of my room after 9 pm when the lock on my door stopped functioning. It took two trips to the lobby to finally get someone to meet me at my door, let me in, and fix the lock. This took well over a half hour. Unacceptable. They also no longer offer a digital key which was an option as recently as April. The hallway on my floor was never vacuumed during the week I was there, despite two complaints about it and a manager saying she’d make sure it was done. There was fruit on the ground and trash for over 24 hours each also in the hallway. This is in a building with oceanfront rooms and a steep price tag. I’ve stayed at far less expensive hotels that were much better cared for than this place. Every night wet towels and trash were strewn around the pool and no one cleaned up until the next day. The primary lock on my sliding door also did not latch. I also have a shelf over the sink in my room that is separating from the wall and two cushions on my couch are shredded. Overall, this is an extremely disappointing experience. When I spoke with the manager about many of my concerns, she listened politely but that was it. I’m a Hilton Honors member and stay at Hilton hotels just about every month. I’ve never had an experience like this at any other Hilton property or any other hotel, for that matter. Besides the location and the polite staff, the experience doesn’t reflect the price and what any guest should expect when they vacation at a hotel at this brand level.

We checked in and we were sent to an elevator that was out of service. Then we got to our room and the door wouldn’t open. We were stuck in the hallway with our 2 yr old and 6 month old. I called the front desk and was placed on hold for 5 minutes when there were three people working and it was not busy. They were completely unapologetic. Then it took 20 minutes for someone to come to fix the door. When we got inside our “Ocean Front” room that was nearly $500 a night (in the winter) had a view of a pile of SAND. No ocean. They told me “ocean front” just meant close access to the sand. The $30 resort fee didn’t cover bike rentals. Plus parking $$. We sat at breakfast waiting for over 20 minutes for someone to ask us if we wanted to order anything. We were there for an hour with two little kids before our food came. The place completely lacks any kind of service. The lattes cost $8, are half full and taste like they came from a vending machine. Extremely over priced and nothing special in any way. I should have been paid to stay here.

Amazing renovations and additions (reception area, rooms, waterfalls, bonfires, mariachi, equipment store). Location is near shops and marina. Ginormous heated pool and jacuzzi still a big plus. Missing free breakfast especially with family of four. Hidden free equipment rental seemed dishonest. Not really free when I found out via the receipt that I had I paid for it under resort fees. It was upsetting. The receptionist even stuttered when I call to find out about the fee. I thought I was getting back my full deposit fee and feel I was played for more than half of it. Parking took some more from my deposit. Also, I reserved via a third party for a bay view but was not originally accepted by reception and instead was offered ocean view for a whopping extra $125-150 per night. Ridiculous!!! Eventually, after a call to supervisor, my reservation was honored but got a side room pretty far from the beach and with a view of sand dunes primarily. Really? I love the hotel but became skeptical, suspicious because of the latter mentioned. Not a great way to foster customer loyalty. I realize that renovations cost money, but via these practices?

First room, >$400 a night had the employee parking lot and entire hotel dumpster area visible from front door, plus both elevators to get us to our room were down. Moved rooms for improved experience, at an extra charge - and that room had broken AC and the room was ~85 degrees, had to leave window open to not suffocate overnight. Also had hairs in bathtub. Hallways appear to not have been vacuumed in days. When switched from ‘no AC’ room, next room they gave us the door key encoder was broken and now I’m standing barefoot in the hallway waiting for an ‘engineer’. We have switched rooms twice already and are having a terrible stay - despite this being a 4 star hotel and costing several hundred dollars per night… and they’ve made no effort to account for the shortcomings. They said they can’t upgrade us and now I’m spending my vacation constantly switching rooms and finding all their faulty systems. Do not waste your money.Update: hotel mgmt commented that I should have reached out to them directly - we Obviously did, that’s why we were switched rooms so many times - they were still very very unhelpful. Additionally, we were offered the last day to cancel our remaining stay which we elected for and stayed instead at the Crowne plaza downtown - way better experience. However, we have contacted the hotel everyday since we left and every time are told that the manager who can help us isn’t available that day - Thursday-Sunday attempted. They have not refunded us our final 3 nights which they said they would. Additionally, they should refund our “resort fees” and frankly, at least one of our nights - sleeping in 85 degrees should not cost $400. But alas - they haven’t been available and have never contacted us back despite multiple attempts to reach their management. So no Vanesa, it’s not about us not reaching out to you, it’s about your terrible customer service.

We stayed 4 nights using rewards and points. When we made the reservation on a phone, we were told that it cannot be combined since they are different tier rooms, so two reservations in one stay.First two nights we booked a garden view, but were given Lanai ($15 upgrade/2000pts downgrade). The room was clean, easy access to the parking and restaurant. The music they play outside during the day could be a disturbance for people who stay in their room to work.Last two days we booked an Ocean Front which is what we got. Nice view with the waves of the ocean and easy access to the grass for our dog. The room could use a little bit more cleaning as the cushions were covered by long hairs and the wall by the trash can had food/drink stains, vanity light was flickering, and also the slide door to the outside didn’t lock properly.Everyone we interacted with was nice and friendly, restaurant servers, front desk receptionists, housekeepers, and the porter who helped us move our luggage to another room.The food credit for diamond members was a bit confusing. The first rep says it expires every day starting the day we checked in, second rep says it does not apply the day we check out (so it wouldnt apply to the breakfast the day of departure), third rep says if it’s not used the night before, it would apply to the breakfast the next day. Hopefully we will figure it out more clearly next time.Overall we had a great time doing staycation/WFH and would love to return in the future.

Labor Day weekend 2022! We are returning guest and I was very pleased with the great customer service and prompt attention to request from our room. Everyone was very helpful, provided excellent customer service and worked very hard. The front desk staff was friendly, guest service at the breakfast line was always smiling and very nice, cooks were hard at work making every plate to match requests, bar staff was excellent, room service was prompt, and pool staff was hard at work trying to keep towels stocked. We stayed 2 nights to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary.We requested a quiet ocean front room. It did have a direct view of the ocean and sand. However, room 201 wasright next to the Main Exit Gate to the beach. We heard theconstant clanging of the gate throughout the day and guests going to and from the beach at all hours. In addition, all the 200 rooms had to pass by our room to get to exit. You could also hearthe music blasting from the pool area from 8am to 10pm.Pool is very crowded with families and children.This is a very Family Friendly resort with plenty of activities forchildren of all ages. Not suited for baby boomers seeking peaceand tranquility. Its location is amazing, not to far from LA. Ox nOcean food is delicious, but pricey! We did enjoy our walks along the dunes and beach front. Be aware that there is tar when walking on the dunes and beach sand. A lot of work to be done in the restaurant area. Better training with staff on checking up on there tables with a positive attitude. Very long wait for food . If visiting the restaurant ask for Wendy she is the exception of what customer service is all about. Elvira in the restaurant was wonderful and listened and showed she cared.When we checked in our room, yes a beautiful comfortable stay but when you have a sink that drained it’s water on floor got our feet wet was not good. Maintenance came to work on it . We asked front desk Érica in particular to please have housekeeping come after to clean up the mess. It was never done. Had to go back to front desk and another lady made sure it got done. Wish I remembered her name. Danny from the valet service was exceptional in my opinion in the valet area they were all outstanding very helpful and positive attitudes.In the pool area Ethan goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience.Front desk area needs some work with positive people. One in particular Érica seemed to not care very robotic. When trying to express my concern more of a I don’t care demeanor.I love that it is close to the ocean.The rentals are outrageously priced. Try to bring your own chairs .The gift shop is not a gift shop that needs a lot of improvement more of a rental.As far as safety we had no concerns or issues. When a family whose kid threw up in the pool and tried to hide it I happened to witness it I quickly reported it to Pool service and they took quick action.If I were to return and no improvement I would eat somewhere else or see if Wendy is working. Bring my own chairs and snacks. Check the room thoroughly and the sinks before unpacking. Parking is $36 a night fyi.Danners

We have been guests here several times a year since 2005 and have witnessed the transformation. It was formerly the Embassy now ZD. The customer service is by far the most excellent service. The newly designed rooms have been completely upgraded and the paint was still fresh at our stay earlier this month. The breakfast (Chilaquiles) are tasty and perfect. Our omelette chef is still here making excellent breakfast creations in the kitchen. Our daughter enjoyed utilizing the complimentary camera (2 hour usage) and taking photos while we stayed in our beach front room. You can rent beach bikes which we really enjoyed. The margaritas were delicious too. Definitely a 5+

Yesterday, I took our friends who were visiting from NYC to celebrate one of our friends birthdays to the hotel. We decided to have a couple of drinks at the bar before dinner. It was around 5 pm and hardly any people were there. Approximately, 15 minutes after we sat down, a server walked up to us to tells us we were too loud, She had a horrible attitude, no smile and looked miserable. She was definitely being racist. We were definitely not loud, and according to another server no one had complained. It was just the 5 of us and we had just ordered some Irish coffee and was just getting comfortable to enjoy the evening. I was embarrassed and was shocked to experience racism in a reputed Hilton hotel in a friendly beach town in California. People come here to have a great time and enjoy the beach. One of the servers promptly got the manager for us. The manager was polite and apologized right away. He promised to look into it and acknowledged that he didn’t think we were loud. He probably felt awkward because he made an inappropriate joke about it being Halfy hour and not Happy hour Not sure what that was all about but it definitely didnt have the vibe of a happy hour at a bar. And we paid full price for the drinks unlike other Hiltons with complimentary Happy Hour. My husband and I are Hilton Diamond member and have never experienced rude, obnoxious, racist staff at any other hotel/restaurant prior to this. I hope the owner will seriously look into this and train the staff to give the excellent customer service we expect from any Hilton hotel. This server should not be in hospitality.

Usually, I won’t review hotels but I think this one deserves it.*Before booking: keep in mind there is a huge renovation going on. This didn’t bother us one bit but it might not be a good idea for someone who can’t walk long distance. I’m not going to lie, at first it was a little confusing finding our way around. FYI You check in at the restaurant so follow the “reception” signs.Room:I was worried because my husband booked us in a first floor room, thinking it would be convenient location to the ocean, however it didn’t have a view of anything! Done! The fridge didn’t work but we never said anything, as it didn’t affect us. Beds were comfortable. The room smelled brand new. Furniture was new. Overall nice, new and clean. Oh, and two bathrooms!Restaurant: free breakfast with amazing food and coffee. It filled us up all day so we didn’t have to go anywhere for lunch. We shared the burger one night for dinner and it filled us both up. All the servers were so nice. I really appreciated that. We also got a $24 credit for food or drinks each day, which was cool.The staff: EVERY single person that works there… from the front desk to the construction workers, were so nice and helpful. They opened doors, asked if we needed help with anything, pointed us in the right direction, always with a smile on their face.Parking: convenient and secureElevators: fit our bikes perfectlyProperty: quiet, white sandy beach front, steps from whatever room you’re in. I treated myself with this getaway for my 55th birthday. Although this location was relatively local for me I felt like I was in a different world. Mmm mmm mmm take me back! Room was a perfect size, felt like our own little apartment for the weekend. Gorgeous is not a good enough word - beach patio view was divine. Complimentary strawberry lemonade in the lobby was a perfect blend of sweet and sour, not at all too sweet (I’m not a heavy sweets lover). Waterfalls in the parking area were such a nice treat and had my senses already at ease as one might expect to experience at the beach…not so much in an underground parking lot. Room was clean and bright. Arrived to very low and no back up toilet paper. Quickly amended. Room service forgot to refill towels. Quickly amended. Tub would not drain. Quickly amended. No hot water. Quickly amended.Haha some snafus for sure, yet staff was quick to respond to and amend each. The stay was not what I would expect paying 500+ nightly. The room wasnt even ready when they check in at 4. The upgraded room had a mini fridge that leaked water all over the floor, I nearly fell slipping in the unseen puddle at night. The ac unit was loud any annoying to hear all night. No blankets provided for sofa bed, but they failed to say that its upon request. Construction everywhere, so nice watching people mix cement right next to you at the spa and pool. Breakfast is definitely not complimentary, so if you see this listed, False advertising. They couldnt even get the simple details of having one soap and one lotion per restroom. No coffee cups to use, guess we are supposed to use the glass cups. Spoke with manager and she was less than accommodating. Excuses of new ownership. Well they should mention that on their sites. A few things about our experience. First off this hotel is beautifully located on the beach and walking distance to the marina and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. However, upon our arrival most of the facility was under renovation. My wish was that we would have been notified of this beforehand. Reception was a little difficult to locate (understandable due to construction but more clear signage would have been helpful). I also feel beach towels should be offered (as is the case at other hotels Ive stayed at). Once in our newly remodeled room the noise level was minimal to none. The kitchenette housed a sink, refrigerator, and microwave along with a coffee maker. Beach view from the room was fantastic with access to the spacious balcony from both the main room and bedroom. We had easy access to the pool and beach. Continental breakfast was yummy and consisted of French toast, potatoes, eggs, and/or omelet. Complementary drinks (up to $12 per person per night) was a nice extra. Pool and hottub were invigorating. Overall I did enjoy my stay and the soothing sounds of the ocean. When renovation is complete this will be a true treasure.

The hotel is very clean and new looking. It’s backed up to the beach and the grounds are very well kept. The bed is comfortable and the rooms are very nice. The amenities are great too. My only complaint is that the music they play through varies speakers across the grounds is loud and starts at the crack of dawn (7am) even on weekends. I texted the hotel and asked if they could turn down the speaker that’s right outside my bedroom in some bushes and they said they can’t because the music is automated. The hotel registration and payment process is very misleading. It makes it sounds like you are getting a deal and that you are paying for packages ahead of time but then when you arrive at facility you learn otherwise - for example, it is advertised and you agree to pay for included breakfast but the hotel gives you $15 credit. Also the checkin people dont add all people during check-in so only one person is given breakfast credit. In fairness when I complained they increased credit to $25 per person but that is still not breakfast included for which I thought I paid for a higher room rate which is exactly the credit they gave me - so, misleading advertising. Also, food is spicy and too many greesy sauces and not kid-friendly. Many of the people who come here and have been coming to his hotel location (previously embassy suits) are families and food is not family friendly. The rooms are outdated (dark color furnishing, carpets look like a motel, etc) and for the price of $500 per night not close to caliber of other hotels that charge this much. Room service in-consistent - for one of our orders we waited 90 minutes and food never arrived and we had to cancel. Also the facility should have a fast charger for electric vehicles. The nice things about property were staff attitude (positive, polite, helpful) and the outdoor exposure from room (patio that opens to the lawn, beach) though some of the rooms advertised as beach view are looking at parking lot with dried up lawn.

My daughters and I wanted to spend Fathers Day weekend at the beach remembering my husband, their dad who we lost to Pancreatic Cancer 3 years ago. We were extremely disappointed to find out when we arrived that the resort was in the midst of a complete renovation! It was very confusing checking in as the temporary front desk was in the same room where they had their temporary cafe/bar and gift shop. When we checked in not much was explained to us. They didnt tell us what the tickets were for nor did they warn us about tar from the beach. The only amenities that were open was the pool & the fitness center. The spa re-opened on our second day however the fitness center was closed from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. due to a special event. Getting to and from our room from the cafe, pool/spa and fitness center was very inconvenient. The employees who were working at the cafe/bar area were short staffed so we had a long wait to place an order. None of the staff serving breakfast were pleasant.The only person who was cordial was the omelet chef. He was very friendly. I felt bad for him. The pans he had to cook with were old and the non-stick coating was peeling off. Then on Sunday morning he ran out of plates while there was a line of people waiting to order their omelets. .The only consolation was that we had a nice room with a view with fairly easy access to the beach. We didnt learn about the bike rentals until Saturday afternoon as construction fencing had been up blocking access to the main exit to the beach where the rentals were located. They were blowing sand off the new pavers near the spa while we were trying to eat Breakfast. When we were finally able to use the spa the water wasnt much warmer than the heated pool and the jets pumped out cold water. We were very disappointed that we couldnt use the majority of the amenities due to the major renovations. Reservation agents should advise travelers that this resort is undergoing major renovations before accepting any reservations . If we had known that we wouldnt have had access to the entire resort we would have made other plans.

We have been coming here on and off for years. We booked this trip a month ago, and have been terribly disappointed in our stay. The management did email us five days before our visit to tell us that the hotel was being renovated, and some areas would be affected.However, we got here to find the whole place in disarray.Our room, despite being one of the rooms recently renovated had a toilet that barely flushed, sinks that didnt drain, and a shower that dribbled water. Our bedroom has no closet door. Our balcony (upgrade) was filthy.The Splash room, which previously hosted the managers reception area is doubling as registration, so service is very slow. When we walked in for evening cocktails, the tables were still covered in pancake syrup from breakfast. All this for a whopping $450 a night! They acted like giving us 1 free glass of wine was a HUGE favor.I loved this hotel... and I get that construction is messy and inconvenient, but how about lowering rates for customers who visit during this time. I feel like they played bait and switch with us. Very disappointed.Sophia was very pleasant, and did comp our parking because our displeasure was evident upon check in.

The pool is always amazing and so is all of the service we get. My family has come here every year for three years. The beach is amazing and I have a grandchild who loves to run up and down all the sand downs on the south-east side of the hotel. We also love how there are pretty much patios in every room. In summary, this hotel is amazing and is absolutely recommended to any one staying in the Oxnard area.

1. The property was promoted as a highly remodeled “resort”. What we found were Embassy Suites rooms had been refreshed but were not thoroughly upgraded.2. There were none of amenities that we would expect in a high-end resort such as bathrobes in the rooms, upscale bath products or a vanity makeup mirror. We had to go out and purchase a bar of soap (which we prefer over bodywash). There were no extra blankets or pillows and very few coat hangers.3. Some of the exterior areas were in poor condition. For example, the sunshade on our deck had been painted brown but the paint had splattered on the walls of the deck area. Just looked shoddy and not reflective of a high-end resort. There were 2 bathrooms but only one box of Kleenex.4. The pool area appeared to be great for children and families but had little interest for us.5. We paid for an ocean view room. While it was true that we had a partially obstructed view of the ocean from our living area, there was no view from the bedroom.6. While we knew we were paying a premium price for the room, the additional charges (e.g. a $30 per night resort fee and $36 per night “self” parking) were exorbitant. There was also a series of taxes levied on top of the resort fee!7. We were charged for one night of parking ($36!) when we didn’t even have a car on the grounds. We were never told that there would be a charge for self-parking. In addition, we were billed incorrectly for the “included” breakfast credit. In total, our credit card was overcharged by more than $200.

Loved the stay and the location. Walk out of the pool area and are immediately on a large well maintained and clean beach. There is a boardwalk there that you can walk on our bike ride on. I really want to like this place. I’m a few days into a 10 day stay here, and every day it’s getting harder and harder to ignore all the problems. We weren’t alerted about the construction and amenities that would not be available until a few days before our trip. I was disappointed the gym is closed, but oh well. It’s extremely hard to navigate the grounds due to the active construction. Nothing is well marked, so trying to make it from our room to the pool has been an adventure, as the construction changes every day.On top of that, the main gate to the beach does not work. Every time I come back from the beach, my key card won’t unlock the gate and another guest has to let me in. Other guests have told me they have the same issues. I told a staff member, but it hasn’t been fixed yet. I tried another, smaller gate in between buildings but it would not open at all and appeared broken.The room is pretty nice, but it overlooks an active construction area. I work remotely, so getting work done during the day with the sounds of the construction has been difficult. On top of that, the WiFi is spotty at best. I’ve resorted to using a hot spot on my phone so I don’t run the risk of getting kicked out of meetings.Currently, a fire alarm has been blaring for the last 45 minutes making relaxing or getting work done impossible. I texted the front desk, but they have no estimate as to when it’ll be turned off. This happened yesterday, too.The staff has been pretty nice, but not overly helpful. The people who work the breakfast line are great. The cleaning staff did also great. The bartenders are also really nice, but since they work the bars themselves, lines build up very quickly. All in all, the whole place seemed poorly managed.Bottom line, the rooms are nice and the location is great. They should’ve closed down during the renovations. It’ll probably be much nicer after the construction is done, but for now this is the opposite of relaxing.

We got to our second room and it smelled like paint and the bedroom window was over the exit and entrance to the hotel parking garage. We opened the third room and immediately rejected it due to a party that was directly outside of the slider door. There was a lot of waiting outside for assistance in between visiting these different rooms. Two hours later of this fiasco, we decided to check out and get a hotel elsewhere. Just had a conference here and it was amazing. Great beds. Spacious rooms. Beautiful views from the dining area. Amazing buffet. Im gluten free and vegetarian and didnt have a problem finding food. Restaurants are nearby but I didnt need to leave the vicinity. It was super windy and cold, not their fault, but I was not able to enjoy the hot tub or pool, which was beautiful. The staff braved the cold windy weather to bring me tea, that was really nice of them. Great staff and always helpful. Cant wait to see them next year.

Most horrific hotel stay I have ever had. We arrived later in the evening to check in and were greeted with a disgruntled employee working from a makeshift check in desk. She scribbled a circle around the general vicinity of our room and then gave us poor directions to the self parking (the valet wasnt open). We were told there would be bell carts by the elevator to help get our luggage to our room but no one could assist us. When we arrived at the elevator there were no carts and we had to lug all our luggage with us. Our room number on the key card envelope was 2121 so we assumed it was on the second floor. After wandering around for 30 minutes in the darkly lit corridors an employee informed us it was on the first floor in building 2 and the room number was 121. Not sure how we were supposed to know this.Once in the room there was a constant stomping and jumping noise that continued for our entire stay and make it impossible to even sleep. The view out our window was a giant pile of trash and construction materials. We were unsure if the noises from above us were construction related or another guest. When trying to leave the parking garage we realized there was no signage for an exit and drove around in circles before finding the way out. We found the sign hidden behind a construction fence.The day prior to arriving I received an email stating the spa, restaurant and hot tub would be closed and where I raised a concern about this the woman told me that the beach was open. Had I known with enough advanced notice I would have changed my reservation to a hotel that wasnt under construction.After our first night we got to see the condition of the hotel in the daylight and it was horrific. There was no signage except for some blue painters tape creating arrows to dead ends and it was impossible to find the makeshift breakfast area between the lack of signage and construction fences. There were chunks out of the walkways and walls, exposed electrical boxes, and half finished projects all over the property. I work in the construction field and was appalled to see that they were letting people stay in these unsafe conditions.When I brought up my concerns to the concierge they offered me a $200 credit (which were about the taxes of the bill). I tried to contact customer service and they said someone would contact me within 3-5 business days. No one every contacted me so I called again and they said the case had been closed and there was nothing else they could do for me. Needless to say I will not be staying with Hilton or Embassy Suites in the future.

The reason I gave this hotel 4 and not 5 stars is because our room wasnt ready at check in. We arrived approximately 15 minutes before check in and we were told that our room wasnt ready yet. We were to wait until we received a text to come back to the lobby area. It wasnt until 10 after 4 that the room was ready. With the cost of this resort being what it is, I wouldnt expect to have to wait for my room to be ready beyond check in time.

The hotel advertises that they are right on the beach. However, there is a large mound of sand that prevents you from seeing the beach unless you go way down the path.This hotel is not handicap friendly at all. I recently had foot surgery and am on a knee scooter. It is obvious I cant get around. The large stone paths make it very difficult and painful to get around on. No doors have buttons that will open automatically so I struggled to open the heavy doors and risked hitting my foot as the door does not stay open. I ordered food from the restaurant and asked if someone could please bring it to my room because my foot was really hurting and I was trying to keep it elevated. They would not deliver it. The ONLY employee that was nice and helpful was the man doing the breakfast. He carried my plate to my table for me and offered to help get coffee and whatever else I wanted. Other employees saw me struggle with things and never offered to help. The gift shop is extremely difficult to get around in. Again, no help was offered. I asked to get a sharpie and the girl pointed to the very top and said theyre up there. I had to ask her if she could get it for me as I couldnt reach it. Even she had to stand on the shelf to reach it and she thought I would be able to do that!?When we got the room I asked about an elevator as we were on the top floor. She said yeah theres an elevator. What she didnt say is that there are stairs you have to go up to get to the elevator from the parking lot! So frustrating!!Highly disappointed in the hotel. For what it cost they should be more accommodating to people. I wouldnt recommend this hotel if you have any difficulty getting around as nobody is going to help you.

This hotel advertises a beautiful beachfront view, BUT be careful. Not only do many rooms not have a beachfront view, but if you book a room that is not specifically an ocean view or partial ocean view, you may end up not even with a courtyard view, but of a trash strewn utility lot, garbage trucks, and the hotels garbage bins. Our room had a nice patio with such a view (see photos). I know this is not a five star hotel, but come on! At least put up a partitian to block that mess. When we arrived at our suite and realized that they had relegated us to the ghetto side of the hotel, I called the front desk and asked for a room change. The receptionist was cordial and made an effort but could not help us even though we were willing to pay for an upgrade. The same was true of the receptionist who couldnt give us a 1 hour late checkout so I could go for a jog on the beach after waiting 45 minutes in the breakfast line. So much for loyalty to their Hilton Honors members. I probably wouldnt even be making a stink about this except our bad room location was the same price as the same type of room with much better locations. The other downsides of the hotel was the $32 a night self park, the dated, dingy, and dim rooms, lack of anything in their in room media offerings other than basic cable, and the musty room odor you would never expect at a hotel like Embassy Suites. On the plus side, the hotel is in a beautiful location, suites are spacious, beds and pillows were comfy, the grounds are nice overall, the complimentary breakfast was good (although the wait was long), and the staff was courteous even when they couldnt accommodate requests. Id give this hotel another shot but would make sure that I dont end up in the ghetto section next time by specifically booking an ocean or partial ocean view. Also I hope they give the place some updates in the near future as it feels a bit dated. Overall very disappointing stay. Do better Hilton!

The rooms could use a bit more insulation - you can hear everything from the hallway and rooms around yours. Also, the restaurant needs to work on its breakfast timing and efficiency - if you dont have 30+ minutes, a hot breakfast is out of the equation. I had a hot breakfast once during a 4 night stay because the line for hot food was exceptionally long. That could be because they dont start breakfast until 7am... Start it earlier and that may help. Other than that, the hotel was decent and Id probably stay again if visiting Oxnard.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It’s right on the beach with super easy access to trails and great amenities. The rooms were huge suits with two full bathrooms, a roomy desk to work on or use as a table, a balcony a fridge. Everything you could need. It was perfect for our purposes. I also enjoyed the continental breakfast and the happy hour was so courteous. When we arrived, we were coming with a pretty large party so our room wasn’t ready yet. We ended up only waiting a half hour but because of the inconvenience they comped parking for our entire stay. Staff was really generous and available to help.I would have given it 5 stars but the room we stayed in did have a very slight mildew smell when you first walked in. My in laws room did not have this problem. Ours was, however, closer to the pool and fountains and beach and that might be why.I will defiantly stay here again if I had the opportunity.

We stood in line at the check in desk for quite sometime, without a simple greeting or a ‘thank you for your patience’ when finally as a front desk person was about to greet us a man came up with a ‘quick question’. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Incredible gardens, ponds, fountains, and right up against the beach. It was too chilly to get in the pool and the hot tubs were closed due to covid, which is a shame, since they looked super nice. I loved walking around the grounds and taking in the views!As beautiful as the landscaping is, the rooms are not great:1. Although everything was sanitized there was dirt on the walls and floors.2. The walls/floors/ceilings are EXTREMELY thin and creaky. Our upstairs neighbor walking around was loud enough to wake us up every single every night and morning. It was miserable. The hallway outside the room was all tile, so it was also incredibly loud. This is not the place to go if you want peace and quiet in your room. Ive seen other reviewers mention this. We could hear every footstep, every toilet flush, and every door slam in the entire building.3. Also, the water tastes absolutely terrible. I grew up on hard well water but this was nearly undrinkable.4. Our windows both faced a sidewalk and the paved patio. People frequently used the patio as a shortcut for the sidewalk, so we felt like we had little privacy with people constantly walking right up to our windows. Some sort of divider between the patios (like some other buildings had) would fix that!5. The heat in the room also didnt work. It was getting into the 40s at night, our room was set to 75, and it was still blowing out cold air.The staff was all incredibly friendly and helpful. We decided to pay for valet parking so we didnt need to go to and from the guest parking every time. While it was convenient to be parked right out front, the valet was almost never there. Almost every time we needed the car (which was pretty frequently) we had to go to the front desk to get/drop off the keys. Once there was no one at the front desk and we had to wait over 10 minutes for someone to appear so we could get the keys. When the valet was there he was extremely friendly and helpful.Overall we enjoyed our stay! It would have been great if the rooms werent so poorly put together. The scenery was the redeeming quality.

First of all the elevator was not working, had to use the stairs that looked unsafe they were marked caution. In the bathroom the toilet paper fixture continued to fall off the wall. Bugs in the room crawling up and down the windows inside. Called housekeeping reported the above, requested a blanket. Took them over 3 and 1/2 hours to bring the blanket. They did nothing about the bugs or any other issues. Reported all of the above to management, they said bugs are common this time of the year? Thats a ridiculous response. Door don’t close due to warped frames, I found an old bathing suit behind the couch in the room, bathroom sinks do not drain, the closet had a sewage smell radiating from inside (thankfully this door actually worked).3) Hallway door closers don’t work well so you can hear doors slamming at all hours of the night.4) Lackluster sound proofing.5) The gym is essentially unusable. All three treadmills are broken.6) Lunch is not available due to the renovations.Overall, do not stay here during the renovation. I wish there was a disclaimer on the website that shared the construction schedule. A tent on the beach would have been an improvement to this mess of a hotel.

We stayed at this hotel twice this year. Our fist visit was in April and then in July. I am giving my five star review based on my stay in April. The July stay was maybe 4 star due to how busy it was during the peak summer month. The wait times for everything was much longer and the pool was very crowded. I definitely recommend Going during an off peak time for a much more pleasurable experience. The location can’t be beat a room had a sliding glass door that walk straight out onto the grass and then to the sand. We had beautiful views of the ocean right from the room and front patio. The pool area is great with free cocktails and appetizers For a couple hours in the evening. Also we enjoyed the amazing free breakfast buffet each morning. All of the rooms are sweets which is nice as well. It is close to Ventura Harbor And channel Islands national Park.

This is one of my favorite places to escape for a night or two. Great prices, great rooms, and the restaurant on site is actually really good. The property is across the bike path from the sand. We stayed in an ocean front room, 10/10 would recommend. Sunsets here are amazing. The rooms are nice, and have two full bathrooms, this is always a plus when traveling.

The resort is currently a construction zone. They did not adequately prepare us for the amount of work being done. The pool was full of leaves and surrounded by fences blocking the loud work being done. The safety gates leading into the resort from the beach were broken. The carpet in my building was badly stained and needs replacement. The lack of care and attention is obvious.On the positive side we had a beach front room that was recently renovated. The location is incredible.Avoid for now and be sure to check in with the front desk regarding the project status before booking, their website certainly does not make it clear what is going on at the resort.

Not sure how this is supposed to be any better than downtown of any city. Should have stayed home.By the looks of things Id avoid until 2023, minimum. Definitely call ahead before booking because they will not disclose this.By some of the other reviews theres going to be renovated rooms and old rooms. I highly doubt theyre charging less for the old.Location is great but doesnt matter if the entire stay is tanked by incessant noise and dust. The greeting was exceptional and then it went downhill from there. There was so much construction and renovations going on in and around the hotel that my stay was more of an annoyance than I expected! They would start early morning (right under my room) with sawing and hammering and welding and I couldn’t relax properly with all that noise. Then, the elevators were shut off due to the workers causing the fire alarm to go off. That wouldn’t have been a big deal BUT all the stairways were closed due to construction! So it was hell trying to find a way down to my car. They were attempting to epoxy the ground and out of all the places to not have “caution” tape up, they did not have any up and I was lucky enough to step in it and dang near ruin my shoes. Then to top it all off, the staff walks in my room to close my balcony door and says “oh I’m sorry, I was told this room was vacant”. Very upsetting. I was looking forward to staying there and it’s very unfortunate they didn’t mention the construction and remodeling that would be going on

The hotel was in a good location. Cleanliness was lacking. The rooms were old and outdated. No wifi in our room, which they never resolved. Broken shower head, stained tiles and toilet. The window and balcony was filthy. For the price we paid for an Ocean view suite, it was very disappointing. The restaurant was closed, except for take out. There was NO room service. You could only use the pool for 30 minutes, with a reservation. They had NO opening times for us to make a reservation until after our check out time. They would not give us a late check out. We stayed for two nights. I was warned on the website when i booked that this resort was under construction but i guess i failed to realize just how much construction is going on. I do have to say that even with the construction it was very quiet. We were in building two with a partial ocean view. We are diamond members and i feel that even though there were upgraded rooms we had to pay an additional 90.00 for the upgrade. The previous room we had was right in the middle of the construction facing the most awful looking garden with workers all around. I feel with this construction we should have been given an upgraded room automatically, not to mention that we are diamond members. When I pointed out I was a diamond member and should recieve upgrades if available I was told we dont do that here. This is a first with Hilton. Unbelieveable.As for our upgraded room I had to pay an additional 90.00. Our upgraded room was in the remodeled area, nice furniture and decorations, very clean room!There although were several issues regarding the lighting.The lights kept turning off and on. Middle of the night the lights would all of a sudden turn on. I am in the shower and the bathroom light turns off. This light issue happened several times both days, day and night. The lock on our bedroom window was broken. The bathroom door was not hung properly and would not latch.I dont think i would stay at this property even after the remodel is complete due to the lack of recognition of diamond member status.

Mold on the sofa mattress was probably my biggest concern, besides spending a full day getting sofa bed fixed. Staff tried to make it right but in all honesty manager could of done more to make it right! I use to frequent this resort years ago and was always a great place, but in all honesty they have raised there prices and give less! $500 a night oh plus parking $36 a night! You would think they would comp parking to those that are staying in the hotel!!! Room had many issues and very very disappointed in our, $400.00 room And overall stay at property. ! Ripped curtain in bdrm, stained pictures on wall in bathrooms, black mold stains in bedroom shower, Bathroom Doors didn’t close well, no tissue in tissue holder after using TP to blow noses we Finally called for tissue! Was our room really cleaned? We’re not sure. Bird poop stains on patio and asked to have cleaned they did come, but only managed to leave water puddle on patio which never dried up and still had to look at bird poop on walls. When we advised of all issues the remedy was an apology. Fell very short for the money paid for room. The beach was nice but because of the state of room it diminished our stay . Since no dining in and only could go back to room or eat outside you would think they could have had staff wipe down the wet table and chairs, but No, we the paying guests had to get paper towels from bathroom and wipe ourselves. So sad! I would not recommend this property to anyone. The only constant is the nice beach. We know property is dated, but so much more could be done to make it better. Furniture in living room and carpet very gross, kept shoes on and only sat on bed!! Couch old and dingy, not fitting of a Hilton. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and so very disappointed.

Stayed for 4 days...ocean view room. Paid alot of money and was disappointed this time. Check-in person was not friendly and it was apparent she didnt want to be there. Waited till 4:30pm to get our room even though check in is at 4pm. Huge pile of laundry and trash outside of the room when we got there...worker said hed be back later to pick it up.🤢😷 Room didnt have enough toilet paper, towels, cups, trash cans or bedding for pull out couch. Avoid sleeping on pull out couch at all cost! Had to call to get supplies often, and you will have to wait awhile. Reserving the pool worked out well but I suggest you do it as soon as you arrive...time was sold out entire days we stayed. Breakfast was good but menu is limited.Ocean views are best part of this hotel.

Such a wonderful experience at this hotel last Thanksgiving. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the service is top-notch. My room was large, with an extended balcony overlooking the pool and the ocean. It could not have been better. I was also very pleased with the happy hour, as they pour full-sized drinks, which is something that most other Hilton properties I’ve been to do not. On top of that, the hotel staff went the extra mile to ensure my stay went above and beyond.

Being there for our third visit, was surprisingly unexpected to see our room disorganized, remotes were missing the carpets felt dirty, which made the room have an unpleasant odor, the bathroom felt unclean basically the entire room felt unsanitized! The bathroom tub/shower could use a remodeling, water temperature was cold heat did not last at all, we found spiders 🕷 creeping outside our door into the lobby. We love it here, I hope these reviews get taken seriously, considering it is a beautiful place to stay and the front desk staff have been polite along with the restaurant staff.Cafeteria food could be at a higher temperature, it was cold. This hotel could use a whole upgrading. Especially for the price we paid.

Check in was chaos because there is no definitive direction other than signs and a bunch of construction. If you have never been there, in which I hadnt, you have no idea where to go. I couldnt imagine what it would be like arriving at night as there is limited lighting anywhere and some nights they light the grounds with glow sticks when the lights dont work which happened during my 3 day stay. Check in I was told breakfast would be in a bag and so when I came down the next morning it was full service and as I was staying for business, they were not accommodating with what was originally stated to me. Also when I checked in I asked to be roomed away from children as I was traveling for work and I was assured that my room was not by children. Both rooms on either side had children. There is a lot of construction on the grounds that makes things very loud and uncomfortable. They dont put that on the website nor do they let you know when you are booking so be aware. Will not be a return customer as this has been the worst Hilton experience by far.

We stayed overnight last night. Pros- lots of space outdoors to walk around, beach access (but be sure to bring your own towels because you cannot use ones from the hotel), hot breakfast, pool is open (need to reserve your 30 min spot), suite had plenty of room for our family. Cons- room wasnt completely clean. Our first room had a faint dog smell (it is a pet friendly place) and when we pulled out the couch bed there were large crumbs of food in the bed and dog hair. I know mistakes happen so we called the front desk asking for housekeeping and a vacuum. They said they would send someone but an hour later no one had come. I called again and this time a gentleman asked if he could give us a new room. It was almost 945pm at this point and I just wanted to get my kids settled so of course we took the new room. My husband went and grabbed the new room keys and I packed everything up to move. The new room did not have dog hair or the smell so that was good! When we I pulled out the couch bed we did find a floss stick/toothpick there left from someone else. But we just changed the sheets and kept it moving.Overall, my kids had a blast, I enjoyed the beach and my husband loved having 2 TVs in the room. The staff was very nice...I just feel like the attention to detail with cleaning was lacking. With the current Covid situation, I feel like that is an area you cant afford to be lacking in. I was glad I brought my spray with me.

Front desk staff was fantastic. Really appreciated the text messaging service.Ordered dinner in the restaurant one night, and room service the 2nd night. The food and service were excellent both times. The complimentary breakfast was what I would describe as very passable; edible but not great.Both the hot tubs were quite nice. Didnt go in the pool. The hallway by our room smelled a little musty, but the room smelled fine. Cell service in the room wasnt great, but theres not much the hotel can do about that. The room itself was spectacular. Lots of space, and a very comfortable bed. On the last day the TV service went out. That wasnt a huge deal, we didnt go there to watch TV.I will definitely be back next time Im in the area.

You pay for the view here with the ocean front rooms, which was nice. You have great views of the waves and sunsets over the ocean. Nice to hear the ocean from the room too, and there is a small outdoor patio and grassy area from which to enjoy the views. That and the cooked breakfast are really the only super good things. Property is a little dated and not very secluded - lots of locals walking in front of the patio along the main beach pathway, and there is no separation between the patios, which are pretty close together. Room was a little dirty/dingy, not very clean (sticky cabinets, food leftover from last guest on the couch, lipstick on one of the towels). Bed and pillows sucked. Wifi sucked. Nice little pond/stream area with waterfalls near the pool/hot tub. Granted they seemed super busy the weekend we went and maybe understaffed (the reason for the cleanliness issues perhaps - but should that be an excuse?), but overall probably wouldnt stay here again because I felt it lacked in several areas, and we paid about $400/night.

They told me sorry, and that they didnt receive the notification.BREAKFAST: The good thing about breakfast is that they have omelet made by the moment and that you can select the ingredients. CONS : it takes really long to take yours so we could only got that 2 days.

Room hasn’t been updated in 20 years, shower was horrendous, the free breakfast had cold eggs. The only redeeming factor were the grounds and proximity to the beach. Also $31 per night to park your self. Avoid building 6 as it’s straight from the 80s. Will avoid all embassy suites in the future

Absolutely one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in. Many gardens and waterfalls. Big balcony. Lots of seating in the two-room suite. Adequate buffet breakfast, but the made-to-order omelettes bumped it up a star. The room was gorgeous, as was the view, overlooking gardens and in the distance was the beach and ocean. Very clean, nicely appointed with a table big enough for six to eat and play games. The only negative in the room was the two mattresses on the king bed and the hideaway. The king bed was hard with zero give, and every movement moved the whole mattress sometimes disturbing the other sleeper even though we were a couple feet apart. The hideaway mattress was thin allowing the adult sleepers to feel every spring and bar. Both daughters woke up complaining and sore. Didnt get down to the beach, but the view was beautiful. All-in-all, the hotel was beautiful in a gorgeous setting with clean rooms and hot breakfast. Definitely recommend it to vacationers. To the hotel, the mattresses need upgrading.

We had a nice time here. I’ve stayed at a couple of Embassy Suites before, however, and felt this hotel was a little bit below my expectations. The staff were friendly and quickly fixed an issue I had with the room temperature. Great breakfast and evening drinks. The proximity to the beach was incredibly close. It is a lovely walk down there. Still, overall the place felt a little dated and worn. Also I’m not sure if it’s just me but I was really cold everywhere in the hotel. If you can get a Beach View room, as opposed to ‘partial’ beach view, I’d recommend it; we could only see a slither of the beach from across the pool.

I am a guest here and am not having a pleasant stay. The walls are so thin you can hear the other rooms tv, people walking/talking I’m the hallway, and worst of yet you can hear every step of the neighbors above you. My current neighbors are up all night! Pacing back and forth and moving furniture. I had to bang on the ceiling in the middle of the night, to try and get them to stop.I went to the front desk to see when they would be leaving and they will be here till the 16th. I should not have to move rooms because I have such unpleasant neighbors.On another note I was here Labor Day weekend. Try to enjoy the pool at 6pm with a cocktail but they had a construction worker power washing with a generator. On a holiday weekend! When the prices get raised because of the holiday. We asked when they’d be done and only got the response of soon.Overall I’m not happy with my stay and don’t look forward to the rest of my stay here.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The view leaves you breathless! The resort literally backs up to the Pacific Ocean! The beach was clean and maintained(not by the hotel but still worth noting). The resort grounds were beautifully manicured and maintained as well! My only issue was some interior problems with my room. Im guessing its due to the age of the resort. Id love to see more updated rooms and bathrooms. One of the bathrooms had a sink that was damaged and faucet pressure was weak. I was glad that bathroom had double sinks!

When our kids were little we used the hotels pack n play which was handy although they did not provide sheets for it, just a regular bed sheet. The hotel has gone down a bit. We have been coming every year for about 5 years. Our first room was on the first floor and there was stair maintenance going on with a loud of banging and machinery which started at 8:00 AM Sat morning. The phones did not work. We were moved to another room but the refrigerator was filthy. I booked my reservation using my Hilton honors through booking.com. This was the first time I reserved directly through Hilton honors program. It was a disaster. It asks if you want to upgrade to a oceanfront which I agreed to only to find out at check-in that it was not available. I have booked through AAA in the past and Ive never had a problem with the service or the rooms. You would think on Fathers Day weekend the hotel would acknowledge Dads with decor or a sign, specials, etc. Not one recognition. It took us a couple of hours to transfer rooms and we asked for a late check out that was denied. We were placed on hold for 30 minutes when we called to ask for a late check out and we were finally allowed a 1:00 PM check out. Makes me wonder if the hotel is having financial problems. We booked 5 days at the end of July which we are going to reconsider and search for another location. Although our children really love this hotel, this may be our last visit here. On a positive note, our server at the grill, Ivette, was awesome! The free breakfast is very good however, they are slow to restock on their food with such a large capacity of guests. They could use a bit more assistance at their buffet. There was only one woman working to restock the food and some of the guests were upset and yelling at her. This poor woman was almost in tears. They definitely need more better trained food service staff. This seems to be the only hotel in this area with a beach front but for the amount it charges each night and the quality of the rooms, it may not be worth the cost.
