We used Wylder Space for our wedding in May of this year and they were fantastic. The food was delicious and it was something that all of our guests couldnt get over. The planning process was easy, transparent, and hassle free, and the tasting session was fantastic. They had a great setup for us and answered all of our questions and made adjustments as we talked over our desires and plans. A great, local caterer and definitely one that we would use again!

Thank you Wylder Space for providing such a beautiful, tasty, healthy and intentional spread to the event we recently held. We hosted a retreat and were looking for someone who would wow us with their food and you definitely did. The presentation was gorgeous + colorful and everything was filling + delicious. We used Wylder Space for our wedding and could not have asked for a better caterer. Molly was highly communicative in the time leading up to the wedding, created a customized menu for the event, and coordinated the day of timeline with both myself and the venue owner. Her staff was both professional and friendly and the food was absolutely fantastic. They truly went above and beyond to ensure our guests had a good experience, and friends and family still rave about how good the food and service were. We would recommend Wylder Space to anyone looking for a caterer for their wedding or gathering.

They were my wedding caterer.Communication is awesome. Food is good. A few small hiccups in the preparation process before wedding day (but we sorted them out since Molly is super responsive, and actively communicated with me)Molly was super involved in the entire preparation process that lasted for months. She replies to emails super promptly and professionally. Big thank you to Molly!Overall I was happy and satisfied. They did a lot of hard work! Thank you!Caveat #1 was: the process of ordering correct number of linens and glasses had quite some back and forth that caused slight frustration. But I was super hands-on in it and Molly was super responsive so we sorted it out :)Caveat #2 was: the final per person price was raised by 32 dollars compared to the original contract due to a decrease in headcount by 18 people.Caveat #3 was: on the wedding day on the dessert table they left one dessert stand empty and put too many desserts on other stands. Maybe they thought that empty dessert stand was a decoration since it was in a funny shape… (I brought all the dessert stands so maybe they didn’t know that particular one was a dessert stand?) when I saw the empty dessert stand on the dessert table during cake cutting, it was slightly weird 🤣I asked guests about the food. Two of them mentioned they were surprised by the raw mushrooms and raw bean sprouts that were placed on the buffet as toppings (not main dish). They told me no guest touched the raw mushrooms😅I had low expectations so I thought the food was pretty decent :)

Five stars is not enough! We had our sons wedding rehearsal dinner at Wylder Space last Sunday evening and we could not have been more pleased with the food and service. Molly, Kyle and the incredible staff went above and beyond to give our family a very memorable dinner. Their thoughtful and artistic touches were apparent everywhere, from the beautifully set dining room to the delicious grazing table on their delightful patio and the artfully presented desserts and hot chocolate bar after our meal. We come from a very food-centric area of Central Coast Wine Country and Wylder Space would give every restaurant in our town a run for their money! I hope that Felton realizes what a gem they have and continue to support Molly and her wonderful restaurant and catering business. I highly recommend them for your next event - you will NOT be disappointed!

Wylder Space is a unique restaurant serving organic food in a health-conscious environment. The distinctive foods prepared daily are given personal attention by the owner/chef. The ambiance includes outdoor patio dining available. The food is excellent. I highly recommend Wylder Space to get a meal or to cater an event.

Our family owns Nestldown, an event venue in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and in all of the years weve partnered with Caterers, only a few have offered to bring a meal for OUR Nestldown team.Short background first; We require couples being married here to choose from a list of caterers. And Molly/Wilder Space is one of the caterers that many couples have chosen for their day. The food - and the team that comes are absolutely wonderful. At 35 acres, It is not an easy venue to cater! AND they not only do well, but they get rave reviews for both the food and the team!!And when they brought lunch for our All-Hands Meeting, they set out an amazing spread of the most wonderful food. Our team was really impressed (they dont get lunches like this from us!); not only with the meal and the team (which was amazing), but just the fact that she thought to do this for us.Just wanted to send a public thank you --

I loved every bite I had, from the spectacular appetizers, plentiful cheese and charcuterie boards, beautiful salad, and wonderful entree. She drove over 5 hours to cater my wedding and stayed overtime to make sure it was a success. She worked with me to create a menu that included our favorite ingredients. Wylder Space is by far the best restaurant in the Santa Cruz mountains! Molly the owner and chef is incredible. Not only is Molly and her friendly staff very talented but they are inviting. This restaurant is ahead of the curve of what is new and exciting as in cuisine. It is a pleasure to eat at Wylder Space and invariably I will bump into other locals and friends and we will share a glass of wine and have a bite of some thing tasty and exciting.The menu is always diverse, healthy, and organic as well as beautifully presented; served with flowers often and you’ll find recent and local artists performing or hanging around. Every community in town would be lucky to have Wilder Space to go to with friends and family.I know that Wylder Space catering is also exceptional as I witnessed and heard from my neighbor across the street who held a wedding 💒 in his backyard in the Redwoods. I am so grateful I had the chance receive some of her meals she was preparing during the CZU lightning complex fire of 2020 as outreach for the community for people who were evacuated from their homes. Molly catered our wedding of 160 guests in 2019 - she went the extra mile to meet us at our venue and brought us our tasting so we wouldnt have to travel extra. It was SO good that we booked her immediately. We had guests come in from all over and they still rave about how fresh and delicious the food was. My spouse is Polish and Im Chinese, and Molly managed to infuse the hors doeuvres and entire meal with flavors from both cultures while still keeping it quintessentially Californian. This review is about our experiences OVERALL using Wylder Space as our buffet-style dinner catering for our small, intimate wedding.Molly and her team are super nice, very responsive, and very pleasurable to work with. Her restaurant was recommended as one of our preferred vendors and we were impressed during our dinner tasting, which included appetizers, salmon, and avocado beet hummus. The quality of the tasting was excellent and her pricing fit our budget, so we chose Wylder Space as our caterer.During the night of our wedding, Molly and her team delivered the food and set everything up as promised punctually. However, this is where our expectations were let down.All of the food presented in bulk were far from what we experienced during our tasting. The appetizers were delicious (shrimp and scallops), but the main courses (salmon, braised short rib, avocado beet hummus) were especially underwhelming and rough/chewy. The salad was also disappointing and many of the greens were NOT fresh, which was pointed out by many of our guests. We were completely shocked when we saw that our guests would heat up leftovers from lunch to eat, rather than eat the dinner provided. By the end of the night, we had a ridiculous amount of food remaining from dinner.We truly enjoyed working with Molly, but overall there are certain things that can be improved on.1) Food quality: We believe dinner catering by Wylder Space is best done by individual plates served by staff. Buffet style food in bulk definitely affected the quality of the meal. The inconsistency of what we had at the tasting and the actual dinner really dampened our experience with Wylder Space.2) Masking: We are in the middle of a pandemic and everyone in our small, intimate wedding had to provide negative COVID test for the safety of everybody. Molly & her team came and delivered the food without wearing masks, which could have jeopardized all of our guests.Molly is a wonderful person and she is a joy to work with, but if you are planning to choose Wylder Space as your caterer, I recommend having their team ON SITE to prepare and serve your guests individually so that the quality of food isnt a surprise.

I met Molly summers of 2020 & took reprieve from the state of the world in her sweet outdoor dining experience in the redwoods. Her Bellini mimosas & her decorative cheese plate got me hooked! We had citrus-cured salmon, served with wild rice, that was absolutely the best salmon Ive ever had at a restaurant. Have been to the Wylder restaurant in Felton several times (5+), including their catering at Hallcrest winery.They have a nice happy hour. I have yet to try brunch. Food & service are hit & miss. Wylder is not even close to 5-star and Ive been meaning to add my 2-cents to the reviews. There are far better restaurants in Santa Cruz, including Copal, Vim, West End Tap, etc. all on the Westside. I sure miss Cremer House in Felton & am looking forward to Alvarado Street taking over that location.I was surprised to run into the catering end at a recent wedding for my best friends only daughter. Here I would rate the food a 2. I want you wedding couples & planners to know Wylder is not a 5-star operation.I asked the wedding planner (the grooms cousin from the east coast) how she came across our hole in the wall caterer in Felton. She said she found them on the internet & arranged a tasting based on all the 5-star reviews. I havent yet spoken to the mother of the bride (I plan to) but I assume the tasting went well because, if the per person price is $100-150/person, the catering cost wouldve been between $20-30K! And they never wouldve chosen what we were served.The food:The cheese board was fabulous. Wonderful cheeses, including dairy free for the lactose intolerant. The honeycomb was a great touch, unfortunately the wrapper was left on & nobody knew it was honeycomb (better labels wouldve been nice as the guests were guessing what the cheeses were - I think only the lactose free were labeled.) Also, there were NO plates, so guests were crowding around the table trying to enjoy the cheeses. After several requests for plates, someone brought saucers (sorry, thats just wrong!). When the crackers ran out, again, the guests had to chase down the caterer staff, one of whom brought the Costco almond cracker box out to the table and proceeded to shove his hand into box to replenish!Then dinner, served buffet style:Kale caeserAvo w/beet hummusRoasted sweet potato wedges w/tahini drizzleRoast chickenMolé short ribsWe were the last to go thru the buffet, and they had run out salad. When the salad was finally replenished, the kale was raw and the caesar dressing tasted like mayo. I didnt see or taste the earlier salad, so I hope it was wilted with a nice bright garlic, lemony. anchovie hint dressing that stood up to the kale. The salad l had was inedible.Ive had the avo w/beet hummus at the restaurant & liked it. The buffet presentation was a little sloppy, and there was about half the hummus in the seed hole compared to the restaurant presentation.The sweet potato wedges were mostly raw, not even al dente. I got one wedge that was almost cooked. The tahini sauce was bland & too thick. Again, inedible!The meat, chicken was dry & ribs okay, maybe 3-4oz pieces. While going thru the buffet, I was taken aback when we were told we get to choose only one protein, one tiny piece of meat (I got to taste my fiancés). I shouldve chosen the ribs.Maybe the raw potatoes & kale were due to bad portion planning and they had run out before the last 20 guests? Who knows? The last plate should be just as good as the first plate. No excuse.That said, Wylder has potential. I truly hope they will improve their food consistency & service. The menu ideas are there, just lacking in execution. I keep going back, hoping for that 5-star experience and Wylders success as a local hole in the wall gem.

Then the food was served…. We are close friends with the parents of the bride & they have never thrown an event sparingly . Edited from a 5 star review before our wedding to 1 star after. I have a hard time writing this because we had a wonderful experience working with Molly up until our wedding where things went horribly wrong, due to how things were handled I felt that this review may help future clients. In short, Mollys team admitted they had confusion and did not look at their copy of the seating chart I spent weeks creating and sat 2 tables of random wedding guests at our head tables. They then served the guests salads before we were even announced, so we could not move the guests which left our wedding party with nowhere to sit. A simple confusion (that she admitted could have been cleared up with a quick call to me in the morning) took over hour for them to set up tables for the bridal party, while we waited in a barn, losing 1 hour of our 6 hour event. We checked in with some guests after the wedding and learned that by the time we got seated everyones food was cold, we thought it was just our plates, but it turns out the dinner experience was bad for everyone. Bottles of wine that we purchased were supposed to be set on each table, which they werent, so guests did not anything to drink for the hour they waited for us to get seated and the bottles we paid for went unserved. The worst part of the experience was Mollys lack of remorse afterward for what ended up being a horrible cloud over our wedding day that we can never get back, she didnt even offer an apology until the day after we spoke when she emailed us. She felt it was fair to refund us $550 after we had paid her company over $14,000 for the wedding weekend- $4,300 of that was professional catering charges and gratuity. The slap in the face of not only ruining a large portion of our wedding with the delay and cold food, then refunding us pennies for the loss, is the exact situation I hope no other person has to endure from this business. Completely classless and the restitution has left us still trying to heal from the trauma.
