Ive purchased two different bikes over the last 6 months and the service has been great. If you want a truly custom bike and not your typical cookie cutter bike that a typical bike shop has. Then this is the place. No showroom but a great website for you to pick every single part on you bike. A bike lovers dream. Charlie, my associate has been great.

After years of waiting I finally decided to pull the trigger on a De Rosa. It was not easy to find an authorized dealer until I stumbled upon Wrench Science and im thrilled I did. In my case, my frame had to be ordered directly from De Rosa and the wait times were long but Charlie Z. (my sales rep) had me updated all throughout. I changed my mind like 3 times on the build, wheel sets, stems, etc while my frame was in the making and Charlie was always on board. In addition to all that, I was very stubborn to get this specific handlebar which was out of stock at the time and would take much longer than the frame and somehow Charlie got me the one I wanted in time so that was awesome. Im not much as to leaving reviews but credit is due to Wrench Science and in my case Charlie. I recommend 100%, and will always buy my future bikes from them without a doubt.

I am glad that I stumbled on Wrench Science. This is the second high-end carbon road frame I have owned, and I couldn’t be happier. Unlike my first carbon, (that I was very happy with) I was able to customize every aspect of the purchase at no extra cost. Charlie Z at WS suggested that I first have a fit done by Fitted by Pedro in San Francisco. (This is advice well-taken. I have had many bike fits, but none as accurate and effective as Pedro’s. WS covers half the cost.) My Wilier Filante arrived 60 days later, and it is the most comfortable racing bike I have ever ridden. I attribute 50% of that to the bike and 50% to Pedro. Wrench Science gets 100% of my recommendation for putting the two together.

I have now purchased 2 beautiful Pinarellos from Wrench Science. First was a Grevil, most recent a Dogma F. Both machines came packed beautifully, and the service from Tim via phone and email both was fantastic. I couldnt ask for better service! I would recommend them for any high end biking needs.

I finally had the opportunity to order my dream bike, and I can’t say enough positive things about the team at Wrench Science. I knew my sizing specs, and I worked with Charlie Z. on ordering everything for my custom build. Charlie is extremelyknowledgeable, and he was very consultative and responsive to all my detailed questions throughout the process.I’ve had my bike for a few weeks now, and I’ve logged lots of quality miles, including plenty of climbing. Everything Charlie and I discussed, from fit to performance elements, worked out and became reality. I am 100% stoked with my new bike. Huge thanks to Charlie and the team at WS!

Their service team is awesome. I broke a stem bolt the day before a race in San Diego and I couldnt get a local bike shop there to give me the time of day. Broke the stem bolt again last week and Wrench Science scheduled me right away and fixed it for free!

I would advise anyone considering a remote/Internet purchase to proceed w/ extreme caution. I have sourced two high-end custom spec gravel cycles via WS, and a very/very messy process with low-level communications, ordering complications, pro builds w/ major QC issues generating two full-stop bike lockups while at speed and new frame damage on first ride. Other cycle was sent w/ incorrect seatmast shim and it took two months before I could finally get to ride w/o seatpost slippage. And that cycle is permanently scarred via front mech chain drop that ocurred on first outing. The attraction of WS is the configurator as well near-continuous 15% discounting, as well as more exotic product offerings. BIG BUT. If you do proceed, know that 100s of hours of personal time will be invested and you will likely incur substantial costs w/ your LBS to remediate WS generated problems. Responses from WS have been utterly tone-deaf, unsympathetic, and substandard by any metric of customer care. My recent bike locked up twice w/ resulting frame damage. A massive disappointment all around and proceed w/ caution as once the cycle is paid for and shipped, you will get very little traction or appropriate response on even major issues. Be prepared for additional time consumption, inconvenience, and dollars spent locally on remediation.

I have been riding seriously for about 12 years. I was looking for a store to purchase my dream bike from. I looked into local bike shops as well as online stores. I came across Wrench Science during my search and am so happy I did. The entire process has been great. I worked with Tim Medina, who is the founder. I was nervous about getting the right size frame and the right fit, but using the data from a prior bike fit, Tim dialed it in down to the last millimeter. He was able to configure the the bike wth the right length stem, spacers etc. so I would be off and running as soon as I took shipment. He also was spot on with his advice about handlebars, stem, wheels and even water bottle cages. The bike arrived on time and was built up perfectly.Tim handled all my neurotic and phone calls throughout the process. He clearly is very experienced and knowledgeable. The price was extremely competitive for a bike and build of this caliber. Shipping was free as well.I like the fact that in addition to being an online bike shop for serious cyclists, they also have an actual brick and mortar store.So, if you are a bike racer or just a serious enthusiast like me, definitely give Wrench Science a call.

It is really the shop you should consider. Biggest kudos to Charlie, Fernando and every other members in Wrench Science whoever worked on my bike with their excellent service.The ordering process is simple and easy. With the live chat online, I can easily chat with a real person. Charlie always keep me up to date on the status of my bike. They are very responsive and transparent in the entire process. I can easily reach them by online live chat, email, and even by phone to check out the status.After receiving my bike, I was so pleased. The bike was carefully packed and excellent built. It was also perferectly set up and adjusted. I just simply put the saddle, handlebar, paddles and wheels on, then I am able to enjoy my ride without any issue.It is my first time purchasing a bike online. I was quite hesitant at beginning and had some doubts. After the excellent experience, WS is the shop I trust.

They are humble folks with a ton of experience on the best bikes, I dealt with Tim himself who is the owner on my Colnago build, he helped all the way through the build process to the logistcs of shipping . It was a very customer orientated process, you know by talking with Tim that his passion for bikes enables his knowlege and expertise.He edcuated me on the Colnago background and Ernestos journey, the whole thing was an experience beyond just purchasing goods or services, Tim and Team, thank you again for all your help . Got a Devinci from these guys. Literally arrived weeks sooner than expected. Very happy with the overall buying experience. With how backed up all bike manufacturers are, I wasnt sure if I would be able to get a new bike for the summer. I spoke with Charlie over the phone and told him what I was looking for in a bike - the spec list, geometry, riding locations, what bikes I was currently considering. He had good knowledge on all the bike characteristics they offered, and took into account my buying timeline to help me find a good fit. I just took my first ride on the new rig yesterday and I couldnt be more stoked!

Bought a bike from them in June. I could not find the brand I wanted at any of the shops in my city.It was delivered perfectly. Very easy to put everything together. Grease was already on everything and carbon paste was provided. 2,000 miles later, bike is amazing.Highly recommend buying from them, especially if you are looking for a higher end bike. If I ever buy one again, I will definitely buy from them.

I purchased a custom mountain bike from Wrench Science and they were awesome in helping me resolve a problem I had with manufacturing defects on the wheel. They really went out of their way to make sure the issues got resolved and they were extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of bike building. This is my second bike purchase from wrench science. I worked with TIme Medina, the CEO and founder, both times and hes an awesome guy to talk to, he knows a lot about the bike industry and cycling in general.The overall experience was great, my build ended up almost perfect with few minor issues. One of them was the stem that I got was 6 degree rise not the 8 degree that I ordered. Another issue was that the front brake was a little mushy (hydraulic disc brakes) and had to bleed it in the first week to get it right.The good part, they packed the bike carefully for delivery and the assembly is minimal, just the rear derailleur, handlebars and wheels.I would recommend you call them for any build you do online just to confirm the components. They may be able to customize the components to your liking, like specific saddle, wheels, stem, bars.

Covid has certainly made it hard to find particular things, but high end bikes was not one that I would have thought at the outset. Alex at WS worked tirelessly and came up with creative ways to circumvent those supply chain issues. My dream Ibis turned out even better than I had originally parted out, due to his expertise. From start to finish working with Alex was an excellent experience. WS was even accommodating to help with shipping the bike to Alaska due to an unexpected move halfway through the build. Packaging was impeccable, and the UPS workers definitely put to the test their pack job, but not even a scuff mark. 5-stars well deserved.

I recently worked with the team at Wrench Science to order a hot, new, in-demand and backordered mountain bike. Normally, a shop wouldnt even budge a nickle on a hot ticket item like this but the folks there worked with me to build up the bike with my desired upgrades and even offered it at a reasonable price to fit my budget. Once the bike was finally built up and shipped, there was a shipping exception and delay by the carrier due to some emergency issue. Since i had coordinated my day off to coincide with the delivery day, i got in touch with WS who got the carrier on the phone to sort things out and get the bike back on the truck for the originally scheduled day. From the time of order, to pricing to final delivery, the team at WS have got it together and im glad i reached out clear across the country to work with them on this bike!

Awesome place and awesome people. Stephen helped me with my Gan gr purchase. He got me fitted and took his time on suggesting the correct frame size. I received the bike in a few days. The box had half the side tore open, but the frame was wrapped so well and with additional cardboard stuffed that there was zero damage or scratches to the bike.I took the bike out for an easy 50 miles and everything was perfect, I didnt have to adjust a single thing. Will be buying from again.

I just received my Wrench Science built Orbea Orca Di2 Disc ride. It can be a bit nerve wracking to do a deal like this across the continent with someone youve never met F2F so let me tell you how it went for me. Taylor was outstanding from the first call - and e-mail - to the last. The web site tools got me 90% of the way to the configuration and Taylor helped the rest of the way. We both had a very long wait for the 9170 groupset to arrive, which I think bothered him more than me. Then we had a small glitch when the wheels we originally configured didnt work. Taylor recommended an alternative, which I think is actually an upgrade, and held the price firm. Then the bike arrived professionally packaged with solid instructions. I called with one quick assembly question (this being my first Di2 experience) and I got Taylor himself on the phone. Problem solved and I had the assembly done in an hour. This is a really nice ride and it was a great buying experience overall. 5 Stars for Taylor and Wrench Science.

My first experience with Wrench Science was back in 2010 when I needed to have my first road bike (SCOTT) checked out by a supported dealer. Of course I didnt think much of the reputation and what the company was all about. I just needed to find the closest place to where I worked or close to home and this was a no-brainer because they are located 5 minutes (ride time) away from me. Even though its tucked away in the middle of Murray St (The worst pot holes are towards the East!), Wrench Science has all the personality of a high quality customer service experience wrapped up in a convenient industrial package. What does that mean? Well the operation has a lot of character. They take what they do seriously. This shop is for serious riders who are looking for serious gear. No kidding! They spend more time on smart bike building and impeccable customer service than they do on anything else. Ive had nothing but confidence in their skill and abilities when I needed service on my existing bicycle.I started the process of purchasing a new bike with Wrench Science and got to know the BMC brand from seeing a GF01 near the main entrance and Dan Ditty, a wealth of knowledge in the BMC product line as well as many of the mountain bikes they sell at the shop. As the season approached Wrench Science (as always) began to get busy with many customers wanting to purchase new or service existing bicycles. Its very reassuring to see a business doing so well. I was on the fence about purchasing a BMC with or without Di2 and with our without disc brakes. I chose the latter and was taken care of by Dan as well as one of the newest members to the sales team, Evan Curran. After many weeks talking with both members, Evan worked with Dan to obtain my existing rider profile and took care of all my purchase needs including the initial fitting to analysis and final fit when the bicycle arrived at the shop. Ive rarely worked with someone who made feel not only good about the products I already owned but, I was also very confident in my new purchase. We looked at a few customizations to create the best fit for me on the bike and they were spot-on. A few modifications to my existing bike also came into the conversation as well and now I have to bikes that are essentially an identical fit (one primary and one back up). Purchasing the BMC GF02 was the most outstanding and pleasant experience Ive had working with a sales team. Evan was extremely helpful, has a lot of experience with customer service, product information and transmits an outstanding enthusiastic and professional approach when it comes to sales.I would recommend this shop to anyone!!!

Worked closely with Tim to get a new Wilier built out. Im a bit of a novice with new bikes, having ridden my old S-Works for the better part of 20 years. I just want to share my experience. It might be helpful. I bought a pinarello at this location but after a couple of rides like they said bike will need adjustments. Totally understandable. The problem that I experience was . After numerous calls. Direct messages in social media (Instagram) emails to the sale person (Chris) . Email to the service department (Justin). They where not able to give me an answer or an appointment, after few calls they dont even answer me anymore. Today I give up trying to contact them. I spent over $ 5k on a bicycle at this store thinking I made a fantastic decision. Not knowing that after you paid they dont service the bike like they said at moment of purchase. So disappointed. Poor customer service.

Im extremely happy with the build the Wrench Science did for me. I was looking for a factory-specd Niner RLT9RDO (they are a Niner dealer), but it wasnt going to be ready from Niner until January. However, the frame I was looking for was available NOW. So Wrench Science got the frame and put together a bike that was specd to what I would have gotten if I had waited until January... at the same price as if Id bought everything from Niner. Quite a deal!

Tried to order an Evil bike through them and was told by the web sales guy Henry that it wouldnt be worth it for them because they were on sale. I traveled from Calgary, Canada to ride Levis Gran Fondo. After a minor mishap, I was left desperately searching for a (apparently very unique) derailleur hanger the day before the ride. Although they did not have a replacement, Ken went above and beyond typical customer service to help me source one from another shop in the bay area and get me back on the road. This type of exceptional customer service, despite no monetary gains to him or the shop, reflects the attitude that makes me proud to be part of the cycling community. Thank you Ken!!!

Tim and his team built an amazing gravel bike for my wife, overcoming the numerous supply chain issues caused by COVID. My wife smiles ear to ear and cant resist pushing a bit harder on the pedals when riding this masterpiece of Italian craftsmanship.In almost 50 years of riding, I have never seen a bike packed and assembled with such care. WrenchScience nails all the OCD details: shrink wrapping cables to avoid clutter, flawless packing including setup paste for carbon parts, manila folder to organize all documents, chargers, and spare parts. They even marked with colored tape how to position the bars and saddle based on the fit chart I emailed them. A+++++ job.
