Run down. Took a shoulder to the door to get it to open! We had to bring the air freshener from our car to cover the musty smell from the room. No fridge, no microwave in room. Carpet was stained, wallpaper was held up by staples. Empty wine bottles under beds from previous guests. We had the downstairs room, which was a mistake. The floors are so squeaky it kept me awake. Signal running to TVs is low quality, wifi is also poor. Pool was drained. One star for the great air conditioning unit.

Is not that is old it is terribly dirty. 204$ a night for that awful place. Do not stay there. Under the bed sheet is dirty, there spiders n spider web under lamp, shower is dark not clean the carpet is super dirty even the phone is dirty the sink was dirty, finger prints on door.

I found the housekeepers keys in my sheets...sharp and uncomfortable (Management could have cared less). The sink in the bathroom would not drain. Carpet was very dirty. The complimentary breakfast was a joke. Nothing but white bread, sweet rolls and sugary cereal and tiny (2) wrinkled apples.

Most of hotels in South Lake Tahoe were full when I was looking for room in busy winter weekend. Rooms were decent and clean. Easy access and no parking issues. Breakfast was good and coffee was surprisingly nice.Only thing I didnt userstand was late check-in time of 4pm. Most hotels have check in time of 2. They have hourly rate for late checkout as per display in lobby. $12 per hour after 11am and full day after 2pm.

Really filthy room, looks like they do not clean it daily. Tried to ask for comoensation, but they were very incooperative. Really bad hotel and very overpriced as well. Will not stay here again.

The wedding party selected the hotel. This is an old hotel. Upon arrival I noticed the exterior of the building was in need of repair. Paint, staircases, walkways all needed attention. When we got to the room more of the same. Shower pan was stained with dirt, chalking all around the bathroom was poor.All of the many other hotels along South Lake Tahoe Blvd (hwy 50) I took a brief look at were in better condition.Just writing this review, I looked at room rates for the following Saturday night, $55. This was better than our supposedly discounted room rate which was $80.The real loser was the free breakfast. Waffles and toast was the only hot food available. We ate yogurt and got out of there.A positive note, the beds were comfortable and bed bug prevention measures were in place.

I was up in Tahoe for a trip. The staff was very kind the room was the main problem. Our sheets in our bed had brown stains all over. My friends who were in other rooms also got bed bug bites. The sink had beard hairs round it. There was hair in the shower and mold growing along the top of it. Besides the bed bugs, mold, etc, the carpet was awful. It looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. The rooms also had a weird smell, kind of like 2nd hand smoke and the smell of a sewage. Definitely not my place to stay!

Decent. Clean. Nearby stores and attractions. The hotel room itself was basic. No refrigerator. Barely 3 pillows. Not pet friendly even though when I did a search this hotel came up as pet friendly. You will get a $300 charge if a guest brings a pet. Its a pretty straightforward hotel for a night to sleep in. Nothing fun or relaxing to do around or inside the hotel.

I have a simple review of this hotel: It is fine. It is what one would expect from a basic,no-frills hotel. It was a very comfortable room. The Wifi is a bit spotty and the lack of a pool (empty at the time) is something that should be noted. I stayed at this hotel for about a week and was overall very pleased. It is very centrally located and attractions such as the lake and ski slopes are nearby. The staff was very helpful, informative and were even able to move me to another room when I explained that I needed a better Wifi signal to get work done. The Super 8 South Lake Tahoe is a solid choice for people visiting to see the lake or ski. It is an easy place to rest your head at night and is very economical.

If I could give this no stars I would......Staff was unfriendly and the worst customer service I’ve ever had. We called a day before going to the hotel to see what time check in was and were told that we can come in around 11:00 we did not get our room until 3:00 the next day. They would not let us even use the restroom because we “were not checked in and considered public people”?? Rooms were ugly, plugs did not even work and only 2 towels. Horrible.....:the best they had was the A/CBreakfast was horrible. No hot food except toast and disgusting waffles. Could here people complain about their rooms and nothing but bad comments from people. Apples were rotting, and barely anything to drink.All in all not worth the money and decently would not bring kids here. Would rather spend a littleness more that is worthy the money.

This is the worst hotel/motel accommodation that I have ever encountered in my life. Staffs are nice and front desk area is fine, but everything went down hill as soon as I opened the hotel room door. I immediately noticed cigarette smell in a non-smoking room. The shower was small and moldy, I didnt want to touch anything. The room carpet had nail clippings and white crumbs. The small room size didnt bother me at all though. I checked out the room within 1hr of checking in, and just drove away from the property as soon as I could. I didnt bother to ask for a refund because I had a wedding to attend and was running out of time to find another room where I could sleep and rest.

Comfortable beds and close to downtown. Other than that, veryyyy dirty, brown stains on the bedding, no pool or hot tub, no fridge, or microwave in the room. We went to the lobby to ask if we could use the microwave from the continental breakfast to heat up our food and they told us we couldn’t. Also lots of mold in our uncleaned shower! Not pleased overall. Wouldn’t recommend.

The place looks like had better days. They need urgent general maintenance and revamp the whole thing. The good thing is location and is cheap, but... theres a price.The system to perform check-in was not working properly and had to be restarted. The rooms are old and the staff didnt clean our room as expected. The heater make a noise too loud that is impossible to keep it running without get deaf into the room (at least heats).The breakfast was ok and follow the standard for this type of facility.The wifi signal was good, but too slow and keeping asking for credentials all the time.

We do not recommend this place! Management is rude and sarcastic. The room and hotel was far from what was advertised. When booking the room, they show a very nice picture of their pool, however, upon checking in, in very tiny print, the pool is seasonal and not open until July, even though it was late June. The bathroom smelled and the tub had mold in it. Our overall experience with this hotel was awful and given they strictly adhere to their no refunds for cancellations policy, please do your research before you reserve a room. There are many other hotels in South Lake Tahoe that are more accommodating. This hotel is truly a you get what you paid for hotel.

Upon arrival, since I had a service dog they made me fill out an extra form stating that I would have to pay $300 if this, and if that. It was terrible, Ive never been treated so terrible for having my dog with me. I could see it if the room was nice but I wouldnt even get under the covers. It was stinky, the carpet was stained it was just terrible for the price. I was so upset. The breakfast was Bananas, yogurt, toast and coffee and juice. It was terrible. I will never ever stay there again. And I will make it my mission to let others know how terrible it was.

Staff r rude to come in room without announcing who they when were in our room and freaked out my wife when he came uninvited to restock towels. Bathroom is a mess and molded. Wallpaper is coming off one of the walls. Tvwas unplugged after getting here. They threw away a brand new soda i got my son an hour before they cleaned the room. Staff are not helpful at all. Beds were comfy but they were a mess when coming in and room wasnt cleansed at all. Cleaning staff sucks and doesnt clean up a room good for hotel guest. The south lake Tahoe super 8 sucks. Im very un happy that it took a whole day to get to our room even though other places do better jobs. Coffee pot was disgusting when we came in mold in shower area. No pool in the summer time for my kids to swim. Doesnt matter they will try to say dont ever stay at all. This super 8 freaking sucks.

After canceling at a different hotel because they did not have AC, I was forced to find a last minute hotel during fathers day weekend. Had to pay close to 200 bucks for a single night here, which seemed very high considering what it had to offer . The location is great, free parking and continental breakfast. Its close to lots of restaurants and the lively scene of south tahoe. Cant say much for the room itself. Very basic and kinda run down (interior & exterior). Definitely needs a remodel/upgrade. If you are in need of a no thrills room and a bed for the night - this will do.

This place is a dump. Floor wasnt vacuumed. The shower floor was ancient yellow with years of grey/brown stains and dirt. The door locks worked but everything was so out of plumb that you could see daylight between the door and and the door jamb. Sheets probably were clean but the duvet was definitely not. Im trying not to think about the spread. Booked for 4 people but only got towels for 2.

Staff was nice and place was clean. Room had a big bathroom, modern furnishings, and nice bed but Im rating it low because it didnt have a refrigerator or microwave. I can understand not having a microwave, but a refrigerator - cmon, Im staying other places around Lake Tahoe and its the same thing, and its a huge inconvenience for someone whos on a road trip. I travel all over and this is the only place that I can ever remember not having a fridge so my guess is its to force people to eat and drink at the restaurants and discourage them from bringing their own food and drinks.Response to the owner: Thanks for your explanation on power as the reason for no refrigerator. Ive increased my rating because I respect an honest response especially from an owner who cares enough to engaged with his guest and who I know works hard around his hotel. Maybe adding a larger capacity ice machine could be somewhat of a compromise. I realize some guest might use it to fill big coolers, but they already empty the one you have every evening within a few hours probably due to arriving and finding no refrigerator in the room. Anyway, just a thought and thanks for your consideration on my review.

Please read. A friend & I stayed for the New Years Weekend & it was not terribly busy, but the service was horrible. The cleaning lady a couple rooms down the hall would not let us grab our own toliet paper, because she would get to the room soon. & when we called the front desk for towels, they only brought one. Do not stay here, the staff are rude & unwelcoming. The rooms are also small, outdated & without a fan in the bathroom (also, type of peep-hole from the bedroom to the bathroom via a vent). Would give a rate of less than one star! Dont be in the service industry if you bring your bad days to work with you.

Check in is much later than your average hotel room. If this was for house keeping Id have no problem but the room was a mess with crumbs and whatnot all over the place. 4/12/18I do a ton of leisure traveling and really work on stretching my dollar as far as it will go to make sure I can afford all the trips I take, but I wont sacrifice comfort to save a buck or two. So I found Super 8 for a great deal. Well-under $100/night for two weekend nights, and its not far from the casinos of South Lake. (Although, its an impossible walk if theres much snow on the ground so in our case it was just a cheap, 5 minute uber ride.)We were put in room 105, which is a handicap accessible room. That meant a soft toilet seat with arm bars, and a big, open shower. Huge! However, the water from the shower pooled onto the bathroom floor, but nowhere near the drain, so the bathroom was constantly like a lake of water in the middle.Bed was cozy though. Curtains kept the room dark. The two heaters worked fantastically which was killer since the highs that weekend were in the 20s, and the room was really spacious. Theyre also part of the Wyndham Resorts family so you can earn points and free rooms while staying there.Plus, theres a bar inside the lobby, and also a breakfast area so you can sit around the indoor fire pit and enjoy your coffee and food each morning. Staff was very friendly and were happy to bring more towels to manage the water issue we had with the shower.

We made reservations a week in advanced. The hotel check in was supposed to be 3:00pm and they told us our room will not be ready until 4:00 pm.. This was very disappointing because we just drove 200 miles non stop and was hoping our room was ready. Not to mention the room WAS filty and looks like the carpet wasnt even vaccuam, and also found blood stains on my sheets..the place needs a lot of work, stained carpets, and stained shower..to sum it up this place is a dump! Spend a extra 75 bucks and get a better hotel.

Beds are clean but other than that everything is worn out and is old. Our rooms door lock didnt even lock properly. The Patel managers are very lifeless, they dont smile or greet you or help with local touristism. However the breakfast lady was nice. Overall, i wouldnt come back again.

The carpets look like they have never been vacuumed and cleaned very poorly. I stepped on a sharp staple sticking up in the carpet where it connects into the bathroom. The linens had stains all over them and so did all the towels/wash clothes. The TV was staticky, the lights flickered and the worst part was probably the shower. There was no water pressure, it was like a tiny trickle of water, took like five minutes just to wet my hair. The water was either scalding hot or ice cold and it was super difficult to find a happy medium. We got in super late, like 1am and so we asked for a check out time for an hour later and they charged 15$

Very affordable and a great location. You do get what you pay for, though. Low water pressure in the shower, a cramped bathroom, and a very plain room. Wifi us free. But incredibly slow. The USB charger there only works while the light is on, so theres a few things to get used to. Overall, a great Po place to stay short term while you enjoy the surrounding are, but not an amazing place to hang out in the room.

I stopped here between 9th - 14th September and this place was a big part of a fantastic experience I had in Lake Tahoe. Conveniently located in walking distance of the lake and Heavenly Resort downtown with access also to bus stops nearer by to go further afield.The room fitted my requirements I did not need anything more. Honestly this motel doesnt even deserve 1 star. Idk why its called Quality Inn because there is nothing quality about it. We stayed here for New Years thinking that it would be an affordable and nice place to stay while in South Lake Tahoe. Well we were definitely wrong. To start, there were so many problems with the room. The TV only had one working channel - public access television, and the HBO movie channel that they claim is available wasnt because our remote was broken and we couldnt use the TV buttons to change to the special channel needed for that. The bed was uncomfortable and there were stains on the sheets. At night the heater would turn on randomly and would get so hot I couldnt sleep with any blankets on. The coffee maker didnt work, and yes, we checked to make sure it was plugged in. The bathroom was disgusting including a shower with a falling apart drain, and a toilet that was constantly running. Every time we flushed we also had to open the lid and adjust the plug in the toilet to get it to stop. The water from the sink was orange, and when we poured it into a cup for some water to drink we definitely couldnt drink it and didnt even want to use it for brushing teeth. Also there was no fan in the bathroom, so after showers it was hard to air out - only way was to open the small window even though it was cold outside.That all sounds pretty bad but here is the scariest part and the biggest reason why NOBODY should ever stay here... The owners and workers are scammers. After we checked out and got home we had a $150 charge on our card. We had no idea why because we left that room better than we found it, so we called in to ask. The owner gave HORRIBLE customer service, said that we had 5 people in our room when we should have only had 2 (which we didnt and when we asked for his proof he simply said his employee telling him so was enough proof). He told us he wouldnt send the document we signed about unpaid for guests so we could read it over again, and then proceeded to give terrible customer service by arguing over the phone and hanging up on us! And no, he never reversed the charge.This place is a sad excuse for a business and I can see why they have to scam to make their money. If they actually gave some quality service they wouldnt have to steal to make their money. Im warning you now, DO NOT STAY AT THIS DUMP!!

Very poorly represented online. The front desk lady was nice upon checking in, but it ended there. I tried to open the window of our room and it fell apart. Has not been upgraded in probably 25 years and the door next to ours was the back entrance to the attached restaurant - gross! All around a bad experience and was not the cheapest place around either!

Was told by wyndom hotels that you tried to reach out to me through email. I didnt receive anything from you, but let me tell you how things went. It starts out when we showed up on August 5 for our reservation of 4 nights. We checked in Im guessing about 5 PM or so. We put our stuff in the room and walked down to heavenly resort. When we got back I layed down on the bed to rest when I felt a bug crawling on me. I got up and checked the bed and found several bugs in and on the bed. We had 2 rooms reserved so I had the other couple check there room, and they found lots of bugs in the shower and on the bathroom floor. So we went to the front desktop Inquire about maybe changing rooms but I kind of wanted to see the rooms before we agreed to stay. When we looked at the other rooms, they aslo had lots of bugs in the windowsills in both rooms we decided to find another place to stay but by then the manager had gone home for the day and the desk clerk said he could only refund the later 3 nights but the manager was the only one who could authorize the first night. So we went back the next day but the manager didnt want to refund it because we didnt give 24 hour notice. I feel like we did not invite the unwanted guests (bugs). And didnt feel comfortable sleeping with strangers(more bugs). We actually showed the night desk clerk the bugs in the second rooms he showed us but we videotaped the ones in the first ones. The manager was not very helpful Insisting that there are no bugs, but I showed them to the night employee and tried to show him the video but he just wanted us to leave and cancel the credit card if we wanted to. He said that was our right. I didnt write a review yet,because I wanted to give e Wyndham a chance to take care of the problem. One thing we did notice is that every time we drove by, your motel was all but empty but every other place was booked. If I was the owner I would want to know what I need to do to make my business grow and make money. Its hard to make money if nobodys staying there. The night clerk seemed nice and cooperative and was willing to show us other rooms, but the manager was on one or something. Sorry to bother you, but just thought you should hear it from me personally. Thanks again and I hope you do better for the next costumer. Im sorry to say I wont be staying there EVER again but Im just a one time costumer in 5 years.

My family stayed at the South Lake Tahoe EconoLodge for a single night and we wish we never did. The rooms are old, stuffy and not well maintained. The carpet and bedding were not clean (we found hair from previous guests on some of the pillows). The door was difficult to open, the toilet got stuck, the heating was impossible to control, the bathtub drain lever didnt work and af course the WiFi does not work. The parking lot was icy and slippery, doesnt look like anyone ever bothered to plow it or spread salt. The parking is shared with a pho restaurant with no reserved space for hotel guests so when we arrived we couldnt park anywhere near our room (that matters a lot when its 7°F outside!). We will never stay there again EWWW

Came in in a snow storm, terrified. Maria at the front desk was so helpful and funny, she made me feel better. The beds were okay, they have coin op. Laundry. No fridge or microwave in room though. Heaters are AWESOME! Also new restaurant on site. All in all, 5/5 would stay again

If I could give this place a zero I would. I booked 2 nights to go to a wedding and ended up staying 1 night because the room was filthy. The bath tub/shower had mold and crud in the grout and even the ice bucket had a layer of yuk all over the top. The internet didnt work half the time and breakfast was very minimal. I could have dealt with the internet and breakfast, but the filth was appalling. If this place has been remodeled, it must have been in 1954. Dont stay here. Its bad.

This is a great value place in an otherwise overpriced town. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well heated/cooled. There is a restaurant on site and they serve breakfast, but we left to early to enjoy. Front staff was very welcoming and super helpful with our special requests.

I would never come back. 300$ for a room that doesn’t have microwave or refrigerator. No water. Water doesn’t flow well either in basin or bath tub or pot.Breakfast- for about 100 rooms this hotel has they cannot seat 20 people!!! Yes I counted 19 chairs. They serve bread and cereal. Apple looked so lifeless. I saw them mixing water with orange juice. For every family that enters they have to refill supplies. The lady at the bar counter was not a happy camper. Oh! Basically nothing at all here. Except a roof

The lobby was clean and I didn’t expected a five star hotel for the rate. The room was dirty it didn’t look like it had been cleaned there was finger nails on the floor, food crumbs, and candy wrappers. The worst part was the smoke detector was covered and the room smelled like weed. I talked to the lady at the front desk to see if I could switch room and was told they were over booked in a rude tone of voice but she said she would send the maid up and was have them clean the room. The maid never came and the next day I found the maid who didn’t come to the room and it was five in the afternoon. To make sure it got cleaned and she was very rude she did a terrible job cleaning. I am very pleased with my stay in this hotel. Has everything you would need. Iron, hair dryer, coffee pot. The only thing I wish it would have is a microwave and a refrigerator, but not that big of a deal. The room was very clean and the staff very friendly. The free breakfast is a continental breakfast, which is a light breakfast consisting of bread, jam and butter, waffles, cereal, coffee, yogurt and bear claws. The rooms are very cozy with a flat screen tv with hdmi. We brought our nintendo classic and super nintendo classic for later in the night. You can also hook up a roku and have all your streaming channels.

Death by a thousand cuts. The lobby bathroom was locked during breakfast which meant my son had to walk outside in the snow back to the room to go to the bathroom.I was also not given an upgrade at check-in. This was fine but it would have been nice for the staff to acknowledge it and say something like I apologize that we are fully booked and cant upgrade you at this time.The TV in the room was put in a hotel mode (Im assuming to make it less valuable). This meant that even though it was a high def screen the HDMI input was disabled. Cable was done via a RF adaptor making everything look awful. It also didnt display channels so I had to spend about five mins figuring out how to change the channel on the TV back to 3 to make the cable work. The lack of HDMI also meant I couldnt hook up my computer to it to play a movie for my son.None of these things were awful in an of themselves but the culmination made me feel like this place doesnt care and I wont be returning. Many other budget locations in the area offer better value for the money and are actually closer to the ski slopes.

Booked the hotel through Expedia. My reservation said that the room was Guaranteed for Late Arrival so you do not need to call and confirm.We reached the hotel close to after midnight. The lady at the front desk told us that we were marked as no-show and our room was sold off. There were no apologies or any other help offered. She just asked us to deal this with Expedia. When I showed her that the room was guaranteed, she said that was between me and Expedia and that she cannot do anything about this.All this happened during the Labor Day weekend. All the other hotels/lodges/inn were completely booked. We had to drive back 70 miles towards SFO to find a small motel on the roadside.As a result of us being denied our rightful room, we had to spend nearly 8 hrs on the road in search of a room. Our whole day was wasted as we could barely get some sleep before we got back to Tahoe and spend a couple of hours of what was left of our vacation. The staff was completely unhelpful and there was no hint of an apology.Stay away from this place at all costs.
