The oral surgeons are great! I have used Dr. Wilson’s office for three of my children for wisdom teeth extractions.My issue is the billing section. I had no issues with my first two children and the amount paid out of pocket. This third time I was given my out of pocket portion and what the insurance was going to cover. I paid over $1700 to have my son’s wisdom teeth extracted. Today I received a letter from Wilson Oral surgery stating that I owe them an additional $800 because my insurance did not cover what they estimated. I have the High coverage with United Concordia through FEDVIP. After speaking with my insurance, they informed me that this office is no longer in the network and that I will have to pay this office whatever was not covered by the insurance. I spoke with the billing department and explained how can your estimate be off by $800? They just blamed the insurance and said that they were told they were going to cover more. Now I owe over $800 dollars more after already paying over $1700 to have the surgery. Please check with your insurance companies before signing any documents or your out of pocket expense may be more than estimated by this billing department.

I had the pleasure of having appts at both offices. Both offices and all the staff are equally excellent. Dr Humes performed my procedure and he is amazing. I was treated with such respect and care by all personnel at the offices; they were there for me every step of the way. I could not ask for a better oral surgery experience. Dr Humes took wonderful care of me. I went under anesthesia and all my pre surgery jitters were for nothing. The healing process was flawless. I could not be more pleased with the care I received and the professionalism of every staff member.

I had an unexpected dental emergency and my dentist called Wilson Oral Surgery to determine if they could see me. I was surprised when they agreed to see me in 25 minutes to perform a tooth extraction and prep me for a implant. I arrived and was warmly greeted by staff at the desk. I completed paperwork and was taken into the consultation/initial exam. The technician was friendly and made sure to answer any questions or concerns I had. I met with Dr. Wilson for an exam. Dr. Wilson is attentive, engaging and compassionate. I then met with office personnel who thoughtfully explained insurance and payment. Staff in the surgery room were excellent, they listened to my concerns and relayed them to the doctor as soon as he entered the surgery room. Being heard was much appreciated! Surgical staff were also aware of my issues with vertigo and made sure to recline me with care. The surgical staff and doctor explained everything, including what I might feel and hear during the procedure. Once the procedure started they thoughtfully explained what was happening, reassured me and made sure I was comfortable. The procedure was relatively quick and painless! I was provided informative aftercare instructions, and Dr. Wilsons staff contacted me the next day to check on me. Happy to report no pain or swelling after my procedure.Im extremely impressed with how they worked me into their busy practice on very short notice, the level of professionalism, and the attentive and compassionate care I received from every person I interacted with. Thank you to everyone at Wilson Oral Surgery, you have an amazing team !

I would just like to say that I had such a pleasant experience with Dr. Wilson and his staff. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and it went better than I had hoped for! I have had no pain and I feel great! I was worried about getting my wisdom teeth pulled, but honestly I had nothing to worry about. Dr. Wilson and his staff did such a great job. I went under anesthesia, the next thing I know it was all done. Recovery period is going great and I’m happy. If you or someone you know need to get your wisdom teeth done. Dr. Wilson is the way to go!!

I am still amazed at the excellent service of the Wilson Oral Surgery staff in Santa Maria. There is an old school way of doing business that is lost for most establishments in this town. They recognize and greet you by first name as soon as you walk in the door. They schedule appropriately, providing a minimum amount of wait time for your appointment. From the staff to the provider, you will find they are professional, highly educated, hygienic, and courteous with genuine care. Over the years I have been seen by Dr. Slaughter, Dr. Humes and Dr. Wilson. There is a consistent standard amongst them that is higher than other doctors in this area. They showed concern and care with the anxiety I experience associated with mistreatment from other dentists. With only Dr. Wilson available now, he performed my surgery. The treatment plan was comprehensively explained. There was very little pain after the removal of six of my bottom back teeth. The healing process has been faster than I expected. I will need two more procedures to achieve my goal, which I have comforting faith will be a success. I highly recommend him and trust this office will take care with your concerns and needs, just as they have mine.

Dr. Wilson and his staff are very professional. I was apprehensive about having an implant and the whole process. Thanks to his staff I was made to be comfortable. Also, no surprise charges everything was itemized and I was informed prior to any procedure of how much was expected as far as my financial portion. The procedure was a bit rough, but that was because my tooth was being stubborn. However, the staff comforted me, as well as the doctor and followed up to see how he’s doing the next day.! I highly recommend Dr. Wilson if you need oral surgery😊

The staff and doctors were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, professional and kind for my son’s wisdom teeth extraction. My son was nervous, and the doctor and assistants talked him through it and put him at ease. The staff followed up right away and answered all of my questions. I feel that Dr. Wilson truly cares about his patients, and we will use them again for any of our oral surgery needs!

Very disappointed with this office. MILITARY MEMBERS get a second opinion before going with this office for wisdom!!!I went to this office for a referral a few weeks ago. When I first arrived I asked if my insurance went through okay, as I like to always confirm. I was told everything went through okay.I then had the consult. I was referred by my orthodontist so I thought this office was the best choice. The doctor went through everything that was needed, then told me that I needed a 3D scan for “further evaluation” they told me this was not covered by insurance.When I went to get the scan i noticed that it was the same machine as the one I had done at my dentist. When I questioned it, I was told that it is the same machine but they have to change a setting. I asked if the change of the setting was the reason for the charge, and they said yes. At that point I was pretty annoyed.I then finished the consult and sat at the front to go over paperwork. I was quoted 3100 for the wisdom teeth to be pulled, and my copay would be 2400.THEY ARE NOT IN NETWORK WITH MILITARY INSURANCE!I was told that everything that day was covered except the 3D scan which was 247.00. I gave her my card, signed and left.A week later I got a call that she charged me only 24.70 instead of 247.00. I let her know I would call back when I had time as I was traveling.I then received a bill for 319.00 in the mail. They added on an evaluation of 139.00!I decided to call LOMPOC ORAL SURGERY. They got me set up for an appointment pretty quickly (TODAY). They went over the same treatment plan the morning of and confirmed the insurance before bringing me back for the teeth to be pulled. The charge for the whole procedure was $680.00.This included everything Wilson was quoting me!The 3D scan at this office was 125.00 at this office with no charge of an evaluation.I was called today by the staff for payment and to set up a time for surgery, and when I expressed that I already had the surgery done, and that I was very upset with their office, the lady became very rude. I let her know that they should know better that they are not in network for military members before trying to charge then 2500+.All she had to say is that she doesn’t know what lompoc orals codes are.VERY DISSATISFIED with this office!!!

Im not surprised this office has over 100 5-star reviews. The entire team is helpful, skilled, and so kind. My daughters had their wisdom teeth removed and all went well. I even received a call from the doctor (!) that evening to make sure the girls were comfortable. Just want to thank Dr Wilson and his staff for the wonderful experience I had at his office. As a former dental hygienist I know patients are nervous to go get any dental work done. But when u walk into that office door, you are greeted with several welcoming smiles, they literally roll out the red carpet for you. His staff makes u feel so welcomed and treat you like family. Dr. Humes is an amazing Dental Surgeon. Being deathly afraid of a molar extraction it was very hard for me to face this and go through such a procedure. Arriving for the pre-surgical exam I was quite scared when his staff informed me that he could do the extraction immediately that afternoon. Yet, his skill and demeanor, and the attentive, caring nature, and professionalism of his staff, made the procedure completely painless. I was amazed that I felt nothing at all during the procedure. I have heard that Dr. Wilson is also equally amazing.I highly recommend this practice to anyone with Oral Surgery needs. You wont be disappointed. Molar root extraction. Doc Wilson and the staff at the Arroyo Grande office were prepped and began the procedure with minimal wait time. Took less than an hour. They have followed up via multiple calls to ensure no post op issues. No pain or swelling. Will not hesitate to seek help from Dr Wilson’s office in the future.

My teenage daughter had oral surgery with Dr. Wilson. She has anxiety when she goes to the dentist, but Dr. Wilson and his staff members are wonderful. They explained the process very good, they made us feel comfortable and after the surgery they followed up with us to make sure everything was going well. I totally recommend them, even if you have anxiety from going to the dentist you can be sure they will make you feel comfortable.

From my reception upon arrival to the young dental technician I was assigned. I am having an implant done and Dr Wilson is incredible. He definitely cares a lot about his patients. Your concerns and upmost care is his first priority. His staff very professional and on the ball taking care of things for you. Angie is wonderful. They all take the time to make it as easy as possible and make you as comfortable as possible. Pain is not pleasant but part of the process however and Dr Wilson and his staff are the best. I highly recommend them for any oral surgery needs you have.

Dr. Wilson performed my tooth implant surgery. When another Dr. was prepping me for the crown installation, I experienced extreme pain from this tooth Dr. Wilson surgically implanted. I was numbed three different times & was still in agony. Since I was in such excruciating pain, I could not to go forward with the crown installation and this new Dr. would redo the implant procedure, but correctly, this time. Afterward, I talked with Dr. Wilson to reimburse me. He refused, but instead offered to redo the procedure. I told him NO! You totally botched it the first time you did it and I do NOT trust you to do it right after this horrible experience! I now have to wait almost an entire year to gain the ability to chew again without pain. Who would be so stupid to see a Dr. if he didnt do it right the first time, then go and see the same Dr. again for a second time?! Dr. Wilson wont give me my money back and after calling my new Dr., he lied to him about my situation, then had the gall to tell me WE were both liars. By lying to both of US, he tried to destroy the relationship between myself and my new Dr. I truly believe Dr. Wilson is a very sick man, who does not have any basic morality as a physician. He DID NOT do a good job, at all, plus his fees are VERY expensive and not that experienced.

Not impressedHad an appointment at 1:15 they rescheduled us the day before for 3:15. We are now told it will be a longer wait because they are behind schedule. Our 12 year old is being seen here and his twin brother had to come with us., (Due to hubby being deployed.)they have me going to the room with our scheduled son because he is 12 but making us leave his twin brother to wait out of the office or in the car because he doesnt have an appointment. Makes no sense they want me to leave his 12 yr old brother out of the office alone but yet make me go to the back with the scheduled son because he is 12. 🤦🤦Seriously makes no sense. I find it more dangerous leaving our son out of the medical office unsupervised especially in Cali where human trafficking is at an all time high. 😩😩🤦🤦🤷Fingers crossed the Ortho doctor is better educated than his secretarial staff.If I could give 0 stars for the office secretary I would but Google reviews makes you choose at least 1 star.Also note * we all have masks on..washed hands. No temps. It should not be an issue allowing his twin to accompany us if they wont allow me to send his brother in alone.** The doctor and his assistant were excellent! They understood my concern and allowed my other son inside the room with us. Hes excellent and nice. Not crazy about his front desk staff but in the end he provided excellent care. Thank you.

Everybody at the office from the front desk to the surgeon (I saw Dr. Wilson) was phenomenal. Friendly, efficient, reassuring, thorough...within five minutes I knew I was in very good hands. Five stars is not enough! There were two impacted wisdom teeth (the other two never developed at all) to be taken out. According to my ride, they were done in under an hour! Day one Im not even chipmunk-cheeked, and a bit sore at worst. Thank you Slaughter Wilson Oral Surgery!

I was having excrutiating pain due to a severe infection from a substandard root canal. Dr. Wilson had a cancellation and was able to get me in immedately for a tooth extraction. By the time I was able to arrive at his office it was 4:30 PM. He and his staff were friendly and supportive despite the late hour, and they stayed late to take care of me. Dr. Wilson and his staff are my heroes!
