Design team: Michelle and Vince-we had an idea of what we wanted for the outdoor backyard space. Michelle and Vince rendered the design and we were impressed. There was a detail of counter shelf on the other side of the fireplace that was not brought to our attention that did cost us a bit more to add. My one critique would be going over the design in detail by sections and allowing time to review.Construction: PM Matt Springer is very detailed oriented, professional, and easy to work with. When there was a change in design or plants, he was flexible and made it happen.His crew of Noe, Trinidad, and Moises are excellent. Noe is extremely talented in his craft. He was able to direct and provide us guidance based on his experience, which is invaluable. He is professional and courteous. Trinidad also provided excellent work and professionalism. These guys are hard working.Originally, we only planned to get our backyard remodeled. Everything was permitted and passed by the city. Our budget only allowed for the backyard. We loved our backyard so much, we asked to do the front but with a different design we had in mind.Obviously we highly recommend Michelle, Vince, Matt, Noe, Trinidad and Noe for any outdoor remodel. We absolutely love our new front and backyard.

We have had both back and front yard redone by Western Outdoor. Working on the design with Joseph was great. He listened to our wants and made very good suggestions. We recently finished the front yard and driveway our contractor Matt was very easy to communicated with and quick to respond. Matt managed to get the project done on time despite severe weather interference. The project supervisor Moe was present and easy to communicate with, and he made good suggestions as the project progressed.Gerda Petersen

I cannot recommend Western Outdoor enough for the yard that you know needs a facelift but you don’t know where to start. Joseph listened to our needs and wants and expertly created the new design. Once it was time to begin construction, Clint was an outstanding project manager. He communicated the entire way, conducted check ins, quickly answered all questions we had, and resolved any issues immediately. The final result is a yard that our family will be able to enjoy for years to come. I would certainly recommend Western to anyone and will return when it’s time to redo the front!

We have been working with Joseph on our backyard project and he has been very thoughtful in his design suggestions and receptive to our concerns. He and Ryan were able to take our thoughts and create an amazing vision for our backyard. My wife and I are not creative, so it was great to have Joseph help bring to life our ideas and pull it all together in one cohesive atmosphere for the back yard. We haven’t started construction yet, but the amazing client service from Jospeh and Ryan give us confidence in Western Pavers ability to translate Joseph’s vision into an amazing end product for our back yard.

They are friendly, helpful and have kept us updated on every step of the process thus far. The staff has been very accommodating with additions to the project and inquiries. The grounds crew was top notch and we felt very safe working with them.

I highly recommend Western Outdoor Design & Build! I worked with dear Michelle in getting our landscape design finalized and she helped me tremendously in choosing the right layout for pavers and artificial grass and the materials for the job, all while considering my budget. I myself took considerable time to proceed with the project due to personal reasons but Michelle was patient with me and listened to my feedback and requests! She did a fabulous job at the end! Her crew including project manager Victor were timely, responsive, and professionals in executing the plan and the final result is outstanding! We highly recommend Western Outdoor for any landscaping project you may have. We worked with the team of Michelle, Vince and Chilo. Michelle is so knowledgeable about all of the materials which helped so much in making the right choices for our project. She was also very patient and was able to smoothly guide us through the process. She was always readily available for any questions and once the project was started she would check in to make sure it was going well. Vince created an amazing design for us which included some great lighting and beautiful plants. The 3D presentation that both Michelle and Vince walked us through was so helpful and once again they were very patient and professional with all of our questions. Chilo was in charge of the actual demo and construction. He made sure everything was on schedule and permits and inspections were done in a timely manner. He made sure everyone working in our yard was respectful of our property and us. He was also there to answer any questions we had and was very professional. The icing on the cake was the clean up after that he was in charge of and took part in. The entire project was spotlessly cleaned as well as the surrounding plants. They also power washed our driveway, sidewalk, and the street in front of our house! He also came back after the project was finished to take care of some loose ends that he thought should be fixed. The whole team was so professional, yet friendly and they completed a beautiful yard for us!

Western Outdoor Designs was recommended to us by my sister who had recently completed am amazing landscape project at her new home. We reached out to Greg Wysong he quickly arranged a meeting at our home. He was both professional and personable and very attentive to our thoughts. We hired Western Outdoor to design and build our custom backyard, including a pool and outdoor living area. Our design team was Michelle, Vince and Tony and from the beginning, they were by far the most professional and easiest to communicate with. We vetted multiple companies, but you notice a clear difference with this team in their approach, experience and willingness to listen to your ideas as well. They spent time understanding our style and how we wanted to use the space; then came back with a plan for our property which blew us away and exceeded our expectations. Weve recently started construction and are very excited to enjoy the finished product, but cant recommend Michelle, Vince, Tony and the entire Western Outdoor team more highly.

TL;DR: 9/10; wonderful overall experience, strongly recommend for your landscaping project, if given the chance would definitely do it again with Western.My wife and I met with many different companies and contractors prior to making our final decision. Timing, prices, reliability, communication, and professionalism all varied with the litter. However, I would say our Western crew stood out from the get go — you get what you pay for and in this case it was worth every penny.First meeting was with sales and design, Michelle and Vince.Michelle-10. She was attentive, patient, and kind throughout the process. From design to finish, she made sure our vision made it to paper and creation. She was accommodating with requests; genuinely enthusiastic about the entire project; provided good communication; and lovely from start to finish.Vince-8. We came to Western with a design in hand from an independent architect. Vince did a great job of making adjustments to the original design, update some plants to our style, and ensure great lighting/irrigation plan. Most specifically, we had custom planter boxes idea that Vince was able to engineer, which turned out beautifully. When ground broke and the project was moving forward, we found a few areas that needed correcting (e.g. tree that was a bit too ambitious to fit an area, small empty square that we added paversTony-10. He created the 3D rendering of the project prior to starting. It was amazing to see what could be as well has make changes in real-time and see it in a 3D format. I begged the team to give us a copy but unfortunately company policy did not allow. Bummer.Victor-10. He was the site project manager and an absolute delight to have. It was obvious the entire construction crew held him in high regard and respect. He was easy to contact, extraordinarily polite and professional, and accommodating for the whole project. The timeline was moved up significantly and if it weren’t for unprecedented rainfall in SoCal, we would have finished over a month early!Crew-10. Punctual. Professional. Efficient.

We recently completed our backyard renovation which included cabana construction, a fire feature, significant paving, steps, lighting, turf, landscaping, all of it. Western Pavers did a phenomenal job and the finished product looked almost exactly like the 3D rendering. We are so proud to show it off and get so many compliments on the quality and execution. Its gorgeous and we are so happy. From the start Vince and Michelle were friendly and helpful with the design and selection of materials and they continued to check in throughout the process, helping with adjustments and questions we had where needed. Matt, the Project Manager, was super responsive and kept things moving and was always willing to stop by when we had a question or concern. The construction crew was professional and thoughtful and overall our experience was so positive. Our project took many months but it was worth every minute. Thank you Western Pavers!

9/22/20: We just started a major back yard project with Western Pavers and so far we are very happy with their service and professionalism. We discussed our many ideas with the design team Michelle and Vince. They are both very personable and patient. They take the time to answer every question and clearly strive to meet our high hopes for realizing an awesome back yard space. It is so satisfying to see our vision translated into a detailed design. Tony joined our recent design meeting and his services were a huge value-add as he was able to manipulate a 3D design in real time so we could make little tweaks to get every detail nailed down. It was incredibly helpful to see that 3D rendering in order to make some key decisions. We are super excited to take the next steps and will update our review as our project progresses...Update 12/21/20: Since writing my initial review of Western Pavers, specifically the design process thus far, we have added plans for our front yard as well as made materials selction for the whole project. We continue to be very happy with the level of service we have received. Vince was prompt and responsive with front yard plans and project revisions. Michelle was extremely helpful in choosing various materials and we are super excited to take the next steps once we receive approval from our HOA to move forward. So far, so good!

We truly enjoyed working with the team at Western Pavers. After first interacting with Joseph, we recognized the value that his landscape design experience would bring to our project. He was clear and attentive to our wants and needs. He was both knowledgeable and professional, which made it very easy for us to discuss how to make the most of our space. When discussing the project, he also allowed plenty of time for us to make changes and was willing to change things on the spot based on our feedback. We appreciated his guidance and suggestions, as well as his flexibility to tailor the project to fit what we were looking for. Despite having a relatively small yard, his assistance enabled us to make the absolute most of our space! During the 3D rendering session, his colleague Ryan was also very knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to make changes in real time that really highlighted what we could expect our yard to look like. The team at Western just finished the job and we couldn’t be more satisfied. With the help of our project manager, Chilo, we ultimately saw our vision come to life. Chilo had an incredible eye for suggesting and making small yet meaningful changes throughout the project. Chilo was also very responsive to any questions we had and was an endless source of good suggestions throughout every step of the build process. With the latest downpours putting our new yard to the test, it was evident that Chilo and his team treated our project with the highest level of craftsmanship. Ive been working with Michelle and Adrian on a complete redesign of my backyard since July. It has taken me some time to decide on the project and funding - as anyone deciding on such a large investment may do. Michelle and Adrian have been great to work with, they have been kind, personable, and patient through the process. We used Western Outdoor design for our entire front and back yard project. Out front, we removed all existing concrete (brand new tract home build) and had pavers put in. Replaced all grass and low quality plants with a natural landscape and new planting. Reworked all drip lines and continued the retaining wall to the sidewalk. Nice caps on top and matching house stone veneer on the face. Existing gutters linked to full drain system. In back, had an oversized spa installed, putting green, 25’ flagpole, drip system, ambient lighting, rock speakers system, pavers throughout. From sitting down with Craig to do the design to dealing with David on a daily basis, we couldn’t be happier. All the crews were very respectful and friendly. Cleaned up everyday and never left a mess. Roger was also very easy to work with regarding the planting and hardscape stuff. Our next door neighbors are now using them after seeing our project. Our youngest son just purchased a new first house and is also using them. Overall we are very satisfied with the professionalism and quality of work done. Highly recommended. A+.

Michelle, Vince, Victor and Danny & co were rather amazing to work with. Due to health issues in the family, our design phase lasted well over a year. Michelle and Vince were very patient with us during said times. Never pushed us to commit to signing a contract, never forced their choices upon us, were flexible in accommodating our odd requests, and patiently explained pros and cons of design elements new to us. After contract signing, implementation phase was swift and per plan. I found the crew (Victor, Danny etc) to be rather skilled. They worked like a well oiled machine. The few logistical hiccups we experienced were swiftly dealt with.I look forward to working with them again for when we start phase II of our landscaping work. Can’t recommend them enough.

Thus far the entire team has been extremely detailed oriented. If you’re looking for a legit turnkey company that stands behind their work, these people are it. We have a large backyard remodel and bid it out to 4 different companies. Western Outdoor Designs were by far the most responsive and comprehensive. Our designer, Greg, came out to our house for an initial visit to understand what our vision was and after some back and forth materials, designs, budget, we came by to their office 2 weeks later to review initial plans and material. They have a very nice showroom that allowed us to pick and choose exactly what we wanted while understand the cost impact of things. As part of the plan review, Ryan, 3D renderings expert, showed us a first view as to what our backyard would like like in a video. It was really nice to get a feel for it right away. 2 meetings later and more back and forth (especially on budgets), we are moving forward with them with most of what we initially asked for and very close to budget. We are very pleased with the overall process and would recommend them.

Our initial consultation consisted of a long sit-down in our home with him while he listened to our list of wants and needs. Death, taxes, and good contractors are hard to find. After owning my first home and doing some substantial work on all parts of the house and property I’ve learned this third certainty in life. Or maybe it’s just me?? Western Pavers has been an absolute pleasure to work with so far. We have just completed our planning and design phase with Joe Garcia, our Design Consultant. Given the large scale of what we want to have done to the property we decided to split the project into multiple phases. Joe’s done a great job at giving my wife and I confidence we are making the right choices to do what we can now, and prepare well for the future. We have a major front and backyard remodel project that includes construction of a large pergola connected to the house with built-in outdoor gas heaters, a large water feature, fire pit, diverse pavers, and extensive softscaping. After several disappointing attempts to get this project underway with other companies, we turned to Western Outdoor Design. We were immediately impressed with their professionalism, courtesy, and no-nonsense attitude; so we decided to begin the design process with Greg. The longer we worked with Greg, the more certain we became that going with Western Outdoor was the right choice. Greg’s expertise as a landscape architect and designer really showed as he was able to come up with exquisite solutions for the many design problems with our quite complicated project. Very helpful here were the 3-D computer graphics that Ryan prepared for Greg which gave us a realistic “look” at specific features of our project. What we like about Greg is that he pays attention to detail, is absolutely meticulous, and nothing gets overlooked. We were very pleased with his ability to “visualize” what we had in mind and with his patience which I’m sure we tested on several occasions. Finally, we were very happy with the transparency of the pricing. As 35+ year homeowners with plenty of experience with remodeling companies we can say that, up to this point, Western Outdoor Design stands head and shoulders above the rest. Just two days ago, work on our project started with demolition of existing hardscape. Thus far, our experience with the work crew is exactly as we expected, and we are confident that we will be very happy with the final results.

This review is for the DESIGN TEAM at Western Outdoor Design & Build.If you are interested in updating your outdoor living space, Western Outdoor Design & Build is AMAZING!A little background on us; My husband & I moved into our house in 2009 (the house was built in 1998). Our pool has a plaster finish and given that it is 20+ years later it is showing signs of wear & the concrete decking is also cracking in a number of places.Our first thought was to just do a pool remodel, but then we thought of the cracked decking & realized that we also needed to update our hardscape. We had always dreamed of putting in an outdoor Kitchen, so we figured if a company was going to demo our hardscape, then it would be the perfect time to add an outdoor Kitchen too.We did lots of research online and came across Western Outdoor Design & Build. Their designs & project photos looked so professional, beautiful & upscale. Their design team really knows what they are doing & the construction team followed through on the designs yielding an amazing outdoor space for each of these lucky customers. This was what we were looking for!We contacted Western Outdoor Design & Build so that they could walk our outdoor spaces & get the ball rolling on finding out what the possibilities were for our property & to get a quote for what we were thinking.We met with Michelle Page & Vince Nigro on our property & were instantly impressed with their professional, friendly, knowledgeable demeanors.They both had so many great ideas on how to include components that my husband & I wanted in creative & useful ways & came up with other great ideas we hadn’t thought of. We went over all of the wish list items & the rough layout where we wanted certain things to be in preparation for the Design Meeting we would have.The Design Meeting was AMAZING! We had heard of the scenario where a company meets with the client & shows them a computer-generated rendition of what their project would look like in still photos & video format, but nothing prepared us for what we were about to see.We met with Michelle, Vince & Tony in their viewing room & they showed us our design. We were like kids on Christmas morning gleefully soaking up the images we were seeing. As soon as the video had finished, we asked to see it again, and again.There was so much detail & everything was so beautiful we were mesmerized. After showing us the video about four or five times per our request (lol), they now presented the project from every angle we wanted to see it from.Tony was so adept at utilizing the computer to show us our project from every angle. What is the view of the outdoor space from our bedroom window (yes, they could do that too showing the view of looking through shutters to the outside space- we were amazed!). How does it look from the patio door? From a chaise on the Baja Shelf? He could give an aerial view from above or move the view as if we were in the pool.Michelle & Vince listened to all of our wish list items & everything was reflected in the designs, but in fresh new ways that my husband & I never thought was possible. They took our rough ideas & improved them resulting in a much better, more efficient outdoor Kitchen design, lots more seating for parties, contrasting border pavers/steps to indicate where the edge of the steps were since we were worried about safety, color changing light possibilities controlled by an app & countless other improvements to our general ideas. They really knocked it out of the park! We are so excited!We signed the contracts to get the ball rolling & are now honing in our material selections in preparation for construction plans & permits so that we can get closer to starting construction. We are thrilled with our design & eagerly look forward to the finished product!

We have just finished the design phase with our designer, Greg, and we are very happy with the process and results. Gregs ideas and attention to details were very helpful in creating our backyard makeover which includes a pool upgrade with Baha deck and efficient filter/pump equipment, creative decking, pergola, fire table, lighting and landscaping. Gregs assistant, Tony, was able to create a 3D model of our backyard so we could get a great idea of what the makeover will look like. We start construction in November.

We are renovating both our front and back yards with a new driveway, retaining walls, irrigation, a deck, fountain, and irrigation systems. We started with an initial design by another firm We have strong opinions and our first designer probably was uncomfortable with our level of input. Western Pavers, under the design lead of Greg Wysong, took over our project and has been working with us closely to create the landscape we want. Greg has provided his expertise and artistic insight to guide us in our choice of materials and layouts, and to keep us from design options that were outside of our budget. To help us visualize our project, Tony created a 3D rendering or our initial design. Western Pavers and staff have been very professional, organized, and clear about their services and contracts since the start of the project. We look forward to starting construction with them soon as our plans are almost finalized.

This review is for Western Pavers Design Services. I asked WP for a backyard re-model design and quote. Joseph came out to our home and did a walk-through with me. Joseph is very attentive and patient. He listens very well, provides constructive feedback and makes recommendations in line with the vision I had for our backyard project. Given that I didnt have any example photos or even childrens sketches, Joseph had to take my ideas and begin to bring them to reality. This is where Adrian came into play. Where Jospeh takes meticulous measurements of my backyard and home to scale, Adrian begins to create a 3-D model of our resort-like backyard. Both Joseph and Adrian were very open to feedback; both Were very patient in making sure we were happy with our project design. They both visited our home and did multiple walk-throughs. Once we settled on the design, I visited WP showroom offices where both Joseph and Adrian walked me through material selection. We had a terrible experience with Western. They rushed through the job and completed it with shoddy materials and workmanship. Poor communication throughout the entire process. Refuse to honor any warranty claims. Wouldnt return calls to address concerns about how the project was progressing. Ive almost spent more time and money fixing their mistakes than I spent on the original project at this point. Couldnt believe how poorly this project went given their reputation.

It’s a WOW! That is what my wife and I have been saying to each other since Western Outdoor Design and Build made our vision come true. For the last eighteen years we have visualized our home with separate outdoor living and entertainment areas and pavers from front to back. The pros at Western made it a reality. The entire process from our first contact with Jerry, who got our ideas on paper, to Jordan, with his design expertise, resulted in a workable plan and a realistic quote. They listened and delivered a plan that incorporated our ideas and desires with expert guidance and advice. If that wasn’t reason enough for us to go forward, our Project Manager, Matt, was a true professional. Throughout the process, Matt made himself available to answer our questions in a timely manner, often within minutes of us contacting him. With his experience and expertise he managed our project and delivered on time and within budget. As with all projects of this magnitude, my wife and I would have changes and other ideas as we went along. Matt made those changes happen, many times within the original budget. Matt’s “crew” of masons, electricians, and, of course, the pros that layed the pavers, were artists. The pavers, and stacked stone on the fireplace and columns, are works of art. From the craft to labor, it was a pleasure to watch them work. When repair of our pool’s water feature unexpectedly turned into a complete re-construction, Western was on it, without impact on the rest of the project. There has not been one day or evening that we haven’t looked at our completed project without saying to each other, WOW! Western Outdoor Design & Build did a fantastic job starting from the search for a landscape company to the completion of our project – on time and on budget. We had ideas, but needed a TEAM to create and develop our dream into reality. Western accomplished those objectives in spades. Greg artistically designed the yard incorporating ideas into detailed blueprints passing the intense scrutiny of the HOA. Adrian wowed us with the 3-D version providing us with a visual perspective. Greg accompanied us to the nursery and showed us each plant and tree. Matt S pulled the construction team together; scheduled all the work and immediately addressed each item as they arose to keep the work on track. My husband and I live in a newly constructed community and have a large backyard that’s a blank canvas - meaning it’s a giant dirt pit in need of design and utility. If you’ve got a landscape/hardscape project ahead of you, and you’re thinking about Western Outdoors, LOOK NO FURTHER.We consulted 4 total landscape/hardscape/paver/concrete companies before choosing Western Outdoors. Here’s why it was an easy decision for us:(1) They LISTEN to what you want and build a design around what’s important to YOU.(2) You’re working with a true DESIGNER or design team. The person who comes to your house isn’t just the sales person. They have lots of great experience and examples of other projects they can show you that day.(3) They suggest a great balance between LANDSCAPE and HARDSCAPE. We had one “designer” try to sell us on a backyard of just pavers, rock gardens, and gravel gardens and told us just to bring in some potted plants if we wanted to soften the space. Yuck.(4) You can do BOTH! They are a full-service design and execution studio. You can get both your pavers and your plants from them.(5) BUDGET. Dream big, and be honest about your budget. Your design team will help you achieve the look and outdoor living space you want while being respectful of how much you want to spend.(6) The 3D RENDERING. You have to pay for this, but it’s 100% worth it. Your designer will come to your house, take photos of your entire exterior, and use those photos to create a fairly exact graphic replica using their design software. The house is positioned accurately relative to the sun so they can show you what the finished design will look like at different times of day or night.(6) The TEAM. It’s really important to respect and trust the designers you’re working with, and boy, is that true for us. JOBY SACHER is our design consultant. We know he has many clients, but he always makes us feel like we are most important. He’s been in this business for decades, and it shows! His ability to visualize what you’re asking for and make recommendations on materials, construction, and plants is incredible. We value his opinions and really appreciate how he keeps our wish list top-of-mind. The OTHER person we are working with is TONY T., our graphic designer. Tony is the wizard behind the 3D renderings! Tony prepares the most impressive presentation that brings your outdoor space to life. He can make changes in the moment, show you many alternatives, and is such a professional. If you say, “For kicks, Tony, can you build a pool in that spot so we can see what it would look like?” He will have your backyard looking like a tropical resort in 120 seconds. I sent this email to the salesman at Western Outdoor after receiving an offer for 30% off.Hi Louis,Thank you for the offer of 30% off. We have a landscape company who has helped us fix some of the issues we have with the plants that Jobe recommended to us. We had asked for small, low maintenance and colorful landscaping. We got 30 white rose bushes, 30 bottle brush that were 5 - 6 feet tall when we removed them, a type of vine-like ground cover that looks like a weed and a pink trumpet flower tree that still looks as though it may not survive.The paver walkways are beautiful, but the fact that Jobe didnt listen to our wishes leads us to direct everyone we can away from your company for landscape planning other than paver work.We called to voice our concerns and were reminded that we were given a 90 day warranty on plants only. The fact the the trumpet flower tree NEVER looked healthy didnt mean anything to your company.Please remove us from your contact list, as no discount would convince me to use your company again. I expected much more for our nearly $100,000.

Western Outdoor appears to have good products, but their business practices leave a lot to be desired. I made an appointment to have a rep (Designer?) visit my house. A couple hours before the appointment they called and said they were sending someone else. The representative spent an hour listening to my plans, which he then said were no good. I was given a verbal estimate. When I asked for a breakdown I was told to visit the showroom. So I drove 45 minutes north. But they would not admit me to the showroom, because I wasnt a customer! Gee, previously I had entertained the rude salesman in my home, but now I am told that I wasnt a customer. Eventually, I was admitted to the inner sanctum, but I had to be watched by another person. I attempted to take a few photos --- because they had no literature. But I was not allowed to take a picture of a product. Apparently, they thought I was going to steal their trade secrets. Why normal gray pavers should engender such insecurity is beyond me. This firm is not friendly; be wary if you are going to do business with them.
