I had such a great experience at West Dermatology. Went in to have a a mole and birth mark looked at and ended up having a full body exam, as I have never had one before. They were very thorough and I felt so comfortable. From the front desk to Dr. Bellamy, everyone was so very pleasant. I highly recommend West Dermatology!

First of all, I have been a nurse since 1963. After my Beaver Clinic dermatologist of 30 years retired, my husband and I were extremely upset at the treatment received at the dermatology chain we were referred to. Because of referrals from other nurses (plus my aunt was a nurse for West Dermatology in the 1970s), we made an appt. with Dr Shiell.I am extremely impressed with the Drs., front office staff, nurses, professional and caring attitude, treatment, follow-up care and even the office building of West Dermatology. They are ACES!

Everyone was very nice. I was a little nervous about a procedure they were very calming and compassionate.2nd visit today. May 31. Appointment was at 9:30, arrived 8:50 check in. I got to room at 10;05. Waiting area packed. I dont know what happened today. The room obviously was not cleaned. See picture. Thats only what was apparent. busy? Not patients problem. I pay for professional service. Not too much to ask for it. I will mention it when they arrive. Not too sure I will be back. Actually I am leaving now. My time is as important as everyone elses.

I have been to this office twice and have had nothing but great experiences. The first time I was seen within the first 30 minutes of my arrival. The online questionnaire prior to coming in helped out alot in reducing the amount of paper work I would have to fill out. Dr Bellamy is the best. Within the first two minutes of meeting he was able to diagnose what several other doctors couldnt and prescribed me medication and that solved my skin problem.On my second visit (follow up) the office was a little packed and it did take a little longer than usual to be seen but the wait was worth it. My skin had gotten so much better. I was also able to talk to Mr. Bellamy about other concerns which he was able to treat right there and then without needing another appointment. I can say that I will not be going to another dermatologist office other than this one.

Very bad customer service. I was held up in traffic due to an accident. I called to notify them and they left me waiting for 15 minutes on the call. Finally I was able to get to the office, the secretary was in a bad mood. I waited about 10 minutes and while I was filling out the information they requested, they told me that they were not going to assist me because it was too late, that an appointment had to be rescheduled for 2 months or so! I mean I wasted my time and still no solution for my skin! Terrible service and communication. I cant say anything about the Dr, because I didnt even see him! 🤷

One of the best Dermatologists around the city. I’ve consulted Dr Mathew and Dr Sharon Mohale. They both are composed and calm going. They spend time on you. Listen to whatever you have to say and give the in and out explanation of what’s going on and their suggestions have healed the issues I had. Front office staff are not very friendly or helpful. I was not assisting with scheduling a future appointment, and was made to feel very uncomfortable in the request.I witnessed a gentleman being disrespected because he was not completely English fluent. Back office staff are extremely friendly helpful and knowledgeable which makes for an enjoyable visit.

We had been dealing with my s/os skin condition for going on 2 years. It had been increasingly getting worse every day but could get no answers or any help. Once we walked into West Dermatology and into Rogers office, there was such a feeling of relief. He set our minds at ease. My s/o is recovering nicely. I’m having some Basal Cell Carcinoma removed from my nose. Not the easiest place! The whole office is open to any questions or concerns, stopping what they’re doing to ‘make you more comfortable’. They’ve gone above and beyond to make sure I’m comfortable, mentally and physically. 4 ER’s who couldn’t wait to get me out the door, 3 primary care doctors from (Cajon Medical Group of Redlands) all of which refused to “do the homework” and would rather copy their notes from another doctor/ER than have a single independent thought in their brain. I also suspect that they most likely printed their degrees.West Dermatology, on the other hand, was courteous, non-judgement, thorough and most of all…patient and willing to “do the homework”, which meant everything to me. She won’t change, replace her with nice and you will have an A+ Team.

The front desk receptionist wasn’t very attentive. I asked to clarify what time my appt was- as I got the email it was at 10:10 but my appt. card said 10:40- I was completely ignored. Luckily I got there in plenty of time. It wouldn’t have taken much time to just look and see what time my actual appt was but she couldn’t even do that. The receptionists aren’t very personable.

I never leave negative reviews for places. But the astounding amount of incompetence this office displayed from beginning to end, I am still in disbelief. I can only assume that many of these 5-star reviews are fabricated, and I want to warn any potential patients to AVOID THIS OFFICE AT ALL COSTS.The problems I had:- even before my visit, they emailed and texted excessively asking for confirmations, check-ins, etc. I probably received over 10 needless messages which set a bad tone- they randomly changed my appointment time, without telling me, and without being able to explain why (they clearly have serious clerical and organizational issues)- the receptionist was about as grumpy, unprofessional and rude as a person can be; super unfriendly about check-in details, payment and taking cash. (There are other reviews mentioning her attitude as well)- After all this, I received poor quality care from the PA Roger Bellamy; he was condescending and seemed to want to get me out of there as quickly as possible. He spent less than 5 seconds actually looking at my issue, and probably less than 5 minutes talking to me before rushing out while I still had questions and concerns.I wasnt even going to leave this review until a MONTH AND A HALF LATER this office sends me a bill for more money for the visit. They quoted me one price at the time -- I paid in full -- then their billing department told me that the office mis-charged me so I had to pay more or face collections! Are you kidding me, West Dermatology?And dont expect to be able to reach this office by phone. In attempting to reach them to tell them about their billing mistake, I was given the run-around for 20 minutes, as apparently their lunch breaks can last anywhere from an hour to over two hours.Its places like this why Google Reviews and Yelp exist. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, especially if you are paying for anything out-of-pocket. This was the single worst experience I have ever had at a medical office. Hands down.

Have been going to West Dermatology for several years and specifically Dr Shields. I live about 45 miles away but wouldnt go anywhere else. The whole organization is professional and very well run! They dont overbook and alert you to your appointment several times prior so no way you will forget and miss an appointment. Dr Shiell is friendly and pleasant but doesnt mess around with a lot of chit chat but rather takes care of business and shakes hand and moves on! I appreciate that and so should every patient because means they dont sit around waiting. He projects his knowledge by his quick evaluations which have never been wrong! He is skillful in his work. Not much more I can say about the organization or the Dr! Their professionalism speak for themselves?

This was my first time to West Dermatology and I was very impressed. The front desk help were kind and efficient, waiting room comfortable and busy.The wait time was just about right, normal for a medical office and shorter wait than many. When they took me back to examine room we got down to business fast. The Board Certified PA Sharon Mohale listened to me, asked my opinion and suggested Biopsy immediately. She carefully numbed my cheek and when she took the biopsy I did not feel any pain. Sharonss assistant was also highly experienced as well as organized by the way she wrapped things up and sent me off feeling good with instructions on home care and even gave me bandages and dressing I would need at home. I am definitely glad I went to West Dermatology, and I highly recommend them to you.

Best dermatologist experience ever! Roger addressed all of my skin insecurities in one appointment, and even scheduled to take care of some vascular issues in just two weeks from now. He treated me for other concerns with a prescription and explained in detail how to use it and take care of my skin afterwards. They treated me for laser hair removal years ago. As medical professionals they should have advised me to have a hormone workup as my condition was totally treatable. I now know I have an imbalance.Before you engage in laser for such, go the other way and seek out a gynecologist. Tell them your situation. Make sure its not hormone driven. Because if it is, these guys will be happy to waste your time & money on laser treatments that will not work until the hormone side is resolved.A friend who is an electrolysis was the 1st to tell me recently that my situation is likely hormones and ethically they should never have treated me until the underlying cause was resolved.I spent over $1k on treatments with zero benefits in my situation. I trusted their assessment and went for it. Theyre medical professionals, though cosmetic. They still have a duty to be honest & ethical.

The drive to West Dermatology was pleasant. The clinic is located in a peaceful location. Redlands is one of my favorite towns to visit in the I.E. When I opened the door to the clinic I was greeted and offered a mask. Bring your mask. Its still a mandate in this type of facilities. Sharon is my P.A.C. shes great. I pre registered using the on line application so upon arrival the check in process was pretty quick. Had PA Roger take a look at a spot on my nose since it resembles a possible skin cancer concern. Roger took a sample for a biopsy, patched me up and I was out of there quickly. Friendly staff, efficient operation. Now all I have to do is wait a few days for the test results.

I went for a yearly skin check. They asked me to point out my own spots and when I asked about a spot on my body the response was “I don’t know doesn’t look like cancer” so I’m suppose to come back if it gets any bigger. I needed a skin cancer removed. I had to change the date with my former dermatologist due to a conflict(needed to change appointment due to a death in family). I gave been going to same derm for 39 years yet that office could have cared less about working with me and my schedule issue. Luckily, I called West dermatology.I called on a Thursday and had an appointment as a new patient in four days to get the Mohs procedure done by Dr Shiel. I went to the Redlands location and couldn’t be happier.I had an 815 appointment and was done by 9 am. Everyone there from the people who speak to you on the phone, to the receptionist, to back office staff were very professional. I felt like I went to a world class spa. I have already referred some of my practice patients to them. I know they won’t be disappointed .Thank you your practice is a cut above the rest!

While Roger was very quick, I felt I was given very little instruction about the care of my face and the two moles that were frozen. BTW they are still on my face as I’m not sure they are doing what they are suppose to do. Also he was in quite a hurry to exit and it was a struggle to ask him questions. The prescriptions I was given were quite costly. Approximately $180 each. I haven’t filled them yet and may cancel my next appt.

The customer service/ experience has been dreadful.The receptionists are rude and lazy and let you know when they feel irritated through the way they respond to questions with there tones and demeanor. I initially came to West dermatology with an infected cyst that had not let me sleep for multiple days. After waiting a week, I was greeted by Sharon who was the PA on call. She indicated that she could not do anything for me except prescribe an antibiotic. I indicated I would probably have to go to an ER given the severity of the pain and the fact I couldn’t sleep to which she responded that we had to wait for the antibiotic to take hold.She indicated that if it was not better to call back which I did after two days after which time it was much worse. Dr. Shiell then Saw me at a moments notice and provided treatment which relieved the swelling and subsequently the pain as well as change the antibiotic.Upon return to have packing removed, PA Sharon seemed more concerned in making sure that the doctor had confirmed her diagnosis than in treating my wound.The staff at West dermatology was first rate and the facilities are great as well. Dr. Shiell was better than good, he was very attentive, and followed through with good practice and professionalism. I believe Western Dermatology would benefit by replacing PA Sharon with someone who is a bit more professional and capable.However, I would give West Dermatology 5 stars with the omission. Of the treatment by the PA.
