Warmth is missing. Very get in, get out, sign here if you want that checked with very little implications as to the full picture of how that effects billing/costs. Felt like just a number…great for efficiency but seemed like if the appt didn’t gain a higher revenue the appt wasn’t as important.

I called to get help with medication. I let them know I can not attend until July. I’m a single mom of 3 with 2 graduating in 2 weeks and 2 full time jobs and I live in another county. I asked to speak to the physician or her assistant. I was put on 2 medicines that can cause kidney problems when combined. The receptionist stated I had to go in person or they will not help me or call me. I let him know I needed to speak to someone about my refill and medication. He stated he would send a message but no one will be calling me now or in the future even if I need help.so I guess if you need help, don’t expect help urgently from them. They need you to come in and collect more monies in order to help.

My appointment was scheduled for 1:55pm, I was called back at 2:00pm. That was worth a five star rating alone. Everyone there was very friendly and professional. This was my first time there. My PA-C, Kara Kane was great. Also very friendly, thorough and professional. I’m very happy to say this is where I will be going from now on.

Updated review: I saw this practice to deal with poison ivy. As far as the actual doctor (Dr. Kara Kane), she was very nice and professional. I thought she had great table manners and seemed very knowledgeable. The staff at the office were great as well.The problem was that I received nearly $1300 in medical bills, and was really upset. I called the office and the staff said thats because I didnt meet my deductible. I was really upset about all the lab tests that were run, as they cost $800 just by themselves.After writing an angry review, someone from the back office called and, very apologetically, told me the lab tests were billed to me incorrectly by the lab and I didnt have to pay that part. She also had the lab call to confirm this, which made me feel a lot better. This whole billing situation was very stressful, but Im happy it was resolved within 5 days.

From the moment I got there, I felt very comfortable. The staff is very welcoming and they smile. Sounds crazy but that’s important coming in to a first appointment. Dr Levine is wonderful. I was requested via text by West Dermatology to leave a review regarding our experience with their practice. Unfortunately, it was frustrating to say the least and left me a bit angry.My wife had made back to back appointments for us both, several months ago, for a yearly body check with Dr. Levin, whom we had seen before. My wife was to go before me. They called her into the exam room and apparently there was some confusion as to the type of appointment she had. She was then told that Dr. Levin would not have the time to do the body check, that my wife was pretty much out of luck and would have to reschedule. We spoke to the staff about the situation with no success.They called me in next. Apparently they got my appointment request correct though they were made for the same service, at the same time. When Dr. Levin came into the exam room I spoke to her as to what had transpired with my wife, who was now back in the waiting room. I asked Dr. Levin why it would not be possible to find 15 extra minutes in her daily schedule to do her annual check, as the scheduling mistake was through no fault of our own. I was told by Dr. Levin that it was impossible to accommodate her, as she kept to a very strict schedule and it “wasn’t about just one person” . I relayed to the doctor that that “one person” happened to be a patient of hers.I honestly was floored by the lack of accountability and refusal to take responsibility for their mistake, by just seeing my wife. I was told by the doctor that we could come back later in the day if there were any cancellations, but I told her that we had already driven 30 minutes to their office and were not interested in driving back again. I also told Dr. Levin that I was a bit shocked by her lack of concern for one of her patients, whereupon she suggested that we were not a good doctor/patient fit and left the room.. All of this over a little extra time added to an appointment that was incorrectly scheduled by the office staff….

They VIOLATED my privacy in a HUGE way. They had me completely undress in front of this window for an exam. They did even offer to close the blinds. I did not realize that everyone driving and walking by can see in any room with the light on, until AFTER my appointment. I have been with West Dermatology for over 8 years. Dr. Levin is friendly, thorough and informative. She caught a melanoma I probably wouldnt have noticed until it was much more serious. Ive never waited more than 5 or 10 minutes to be seen, which is far better than any other doctors Ive seen. I have recommended her to several friends.

I’ve been here multiple times seeing Dr. Nguyen for skin checks. The office staff is very organized and prompt with appointment requests and schedule. It’s a clean organized environment and they respect your time and not make you wait very long at all for the doctor to come see you in their rooms. I would give them 5 stars but they did not know the name of the handheld microscope used to check my skin. It is called a dermatoscope and I was interested in purchasing a personal home use version, which is readily available online starting at $400. My insurance allows one 15 skin check a year. I would like to be looking at areas that I can periodically to notice changes. My parents get several skin screenings a year, and so should I even if I have to do it myself

Dr Levin is a wonderful doctor. I knew I could trust her because she performed great MOHS surgery on my husband’s ear. She removed a mole that is healing well so far. If you have any questions about your skin or if your concerned about anything you can easily ask for explanations. I really like that they give you a printed sheet if instructions for taking care of anything afterwards.They also do things like Botox and skin treatments here. I have been a patient of West Dermatology for at least 15 years now. The doctors are great. For the last few times I visited with Kara Kane, she is always pleasant, nice and professional. The procedures I undergo are not covered by my insurance and I offered to pay out of pocket ahead of time instead of going through my insurance carrier, as the claim would be rejected anyway. I asked the receptionist if I can get any discount by paying ahead, but her reply was we are not a flea market vendor. I thought thay was a snotty and rude answer. Another problem I had was last year, I paid the bill when I received it in the mail, but then repeatedly I was getting past due bills, as if they havent received my check. I sent cancelled copies of the check, but they kept sending the same bill over and over again. I contacted them via their website and called them. Finally they sent my account to the Collections, some place in Las Vegas. I sent the same copy of the check to them by registered mail, but my mail was returned. So again, I had to waste my time calling the collec tion agency, finally got through to somebody, I was told to send the copy of the check plus pay for collection efforts! I told them if they want to get paid they need to go back to West Dermatology as they mistakenly started all that process. So, doctors are all good, I went through at least four of them over the years, but the office staff has a lot of improvement to do

I have a skin condition that none of the Dermatologists I visited could diagnose, until I saw Dr. Levin. She diagnosed me immediately and resolved my issue with the proper medication. While at the initial visit she noticed a small freckle-like mole on my shoulder, which ultimately was determined to be Melanoma. I had the Melanoma surgically removed and have been cancer free since (2016). I have referred Dr. Levin to all my family and friends, she is by far the most knowledgeable and professional doctor I know!

It was my first time at West Dermatology. Everyone was courteous and I didnt have to wait very long. I came in for a body scan, screening for skin cancer. I was seen by a D. O. who seemed to be very young. As this was my first visit, these are just first impressions. Time will tell.My second time was just a quick visit to reeze a pre-cancer spot on my forehead. Saw Dr. Karavan. Had two cysts removed here. Was very concerned about scarring and keloiding. I didnt keloid, which was good, however the scar they left on my neck was way bigger than they said would happen. Was very not happy about that. I also removed a cyst on my face and the doctor literally just used her tool to punch the cyst but did nothing more to make sure it doesnt come back. Now the cyst on my face is twice as big. I think she was too busy talking to an assistant or fellow doctor who was watching the procedure and was clearly in a rush. I could tell she didnt take her time to make sure everything was out of there. I honestly feel like she didnt have the expertise in simple cyst removal on both cysts and am scared to give her another chance to remove the cyst on my face. I will get the cyst removed again, however, not here. I do not have anything against this office, but I am really disappointed in the results.

This was my second visit at West Dermatology. I love the doctors and the staff. Everyone there was so nice and comforting. I went in today for my annual body check up and had some minor area freezes which I thought would hurt more than it did. I also tried Botox for the first time. I was anticipating it to hurt and was amazed it just felt like a small pin poke. I had a peel done at this office and they burnt the skin on my chin. My skin looked so awful that everyone was asking me what was wrong. When I called the nurse who performed the procedure and sent her photos.; she asked me to make an appointment with one of the doctors.I made an appointment and went in. I was prescribed hydroquinone ($70) which they sold me. The doctor that I saw (dr Karavan) basically had no idea what the nurse who does the procedure gives patients after the procedure as far as sunscreen, face wash, etc. she disagreed with everything I was using - provided by her own office!!!I just received a bill for $101.08 - my responsibility after insurance also paid them.I cannot believe that they first completely jacked up my face for which I paid $300, and then proceeded to tell me to come in to fix the mess they created and charged me.Stay away from this office.
