My experience was smooth and easy, thanks to Joseph!! (Tip go online and get in lin), not only was he super nice he went out of his way to help me get the late fees waived on my registration. DMV needs more people like Joe. You can tell he really enjoys his job and helping others... 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for him!!

Went in early at around 8 AM without an appointment, and the process was super fast. Really polite people for the most part except for this one tallish guy with slicked back hair. Seemed to be either having a bad day or probably just doesnt like his job. I didnt give him any problem, but he talked to me like I was an idiot for making an honest mistake. Once I finished renewing my license, he was supposed to hand me my temp license, but he just threw it at me and didnt really communicate that the process was finished. Didnt sit right with me, and I overheard that he was aiming to get a promotion. I really hope he doesnt get it, doesnt seem like hed deserve it. I wasnt the only one he was rude to either.

I only came here once and I will never come back here again. There is a female staff at the door who asks you what are you coming to the dmv for. I told her I moved and wanted to update my address of DL and my vehicles. She said that I must wait for the Registration Renewal letter and use the form to update and tried to turn us back. Im not an expert, but it makes no sense to me. So I said it out loud I dont believe it. I picked my number and went to a counter. Just before I reached the counter, that female went to talk to the staff at the counter making up some lame execuses that it was a misunderstanding in front of us. This is most ridiculous thing I ever experienced in any government facility. I cant remember the name of that female, she is either simply ignorant of her own job, or doing it on purpose. I read some reviews of racism towards Chinese in the community. This happened about two years ago. I wanted to post a review at the time but forgot to do so. I clicked at this DMV site by accident today while checking navigation on google map. I am writing the review to provide my feedback. According to the reviews, it seems is still happening, so I dont believe the facility actually cares. Its clear that its more than just 1 staff is doing it. I simply dont understand why there was no action been taken yet.

If you happen to see a TONI, GIRL RUN.Just a friendly PSA: African American woman in her mid 50s possibly 60s, Toni at window 12 is the worst human being you could possibly encounter, even by DMV standards.0/10 would not recommend Toni.I was taken aback by her shameless display of ignorance, arrogance, and aggression, as I thought the whole point of having client facing staffs there is to help us facilitate a smooth process at the suffocating DMV.Because of this incident, I have officially been converted from anti-robot to pro-robot activist. Genuinely hope automation would soon replace toxic workers like Toni.I was under the impression that a new photo was all I needed, so I was a little confused when Toni first asked me to change my name, simply because I had a hyphen in my name. Naturally, I had to ask if it would be an issue since my passport had the hyphen in it. She then started to show visible signs of agitation and frustration, and verbally accused me of excessive talking, essentially asking me to shut up all because I asked a simple question. So yeah I proceeded to remain silent just so she could take a breath and calm down. In a very condescending manner, she explained that it’s the system not showing the hyphen on the touch pad, but the hyphen will show up on the actual ID., essentially blaming the system. Ma’am, how am I supposed to know how your system operates and why are you making it a problem in the first place? Why are you treating me like it’s my fault that your system has a glitch? What do you expect me to do? What happened if I didn’t continue to behave professionally despite the vicious language? And then I asked about the photo on my ID because that’s the only reason why I had to go in person. She then got even worse, yelling at me. She was like “Stop interrupting me let me finish.” I was simply at a loss for how to handle the rudeness and unprofessional nature of this whole situation. At no point in time had i have the impression that Toni was trying to help me. She is simply the opposite of a helpful civil servant. I simply asked two questions and all I got was hostility on top of hostility.Just because my name sounds foreign and has a hyphen doesn’t mean I deserve such malicious treatment. This is essentially a case of racial discrimination. Her tone was sarcastic and downright disrespectful throughout the entire interaction. She has absolutely no patience whatsoever and shows signs of anger issues. All this nonsense happened while her coworkers were listening. God knows what kind of pathetic power play is this. She shows no remorse for belittling people like me. I am concerned this implies that she mistreats people on a daily basis especially towards people with Asian sounding names. What if I couldn’t speak proper English and couldn’t defend myself today?I’ve made the colossal mistake to come here. Please save yourself some trouble and avoid this DMV at all cost. Go to pasadena if possible.

This is possibly the worst DMV experience I’ve ever had. Avoid Toni at all cost at window 12. She is ridiculously rude and impatient. Her attitude towards other people is absolutely unacceptable. I don’t care what kind of bad day you’re having, don’t take that out on your customers. We don’t owe you anything. It baffles me how she is still working at a job like this with zero communication skills.

Worse experience ever . Avoid this DMV . Even the El Monte one has a better costumer service. I had to update my driver license address and renew it and it took 2 hours. At the Santa Ana DMV and El Monte DMV they are quicker and they have one specific window take care of this one matter so its quick . And most of the staff here I asked for help are not very helpful. Finally when I got to the window the person there was able to help me but I was not able to get help and have to go back again another day . After that second time I come since I was able to get an appointment I am never coming to the West Covina DMV again. They aren’t as helpful, patient or friendly. I understand there work is stressful. I work in a stressful environment as well, but that doesn’t mean you should not try to help direct people with the correct information. Their employees really need to be trained to provide friendly, respectful, professional and correct information.

This was a very bad experience for me. I wanted to update my drivers license address, but I didnt know much about the process. At the reception desk at the door, an Asian man received us. He was very impatient when communicating with us. What shocked me the most was that he said to us: If you are not ready, please dont waste my time. I think its funny. First of all, I know that the work here is boring and boring, and I have to face a lot of faces every day, but since you have chosen this job, you should treat it seriously and enthusiastically, not to mention that DMV is a service place. At first, I didnt believe that the rating here was very low, but now I have to admit that I also sincerely warn everyone, if there are other DMVs nearby, please dont choose here.

Dont go here, go to Pasadena, El Monte or even Pomona. They are so much better. If I could give zero stars I would. I know these people deal with a lot and its probably stressful working there, and I cant speak for all employees but this DMV is awful in every way. I try to consider the fact that the rude or difficult employee could be having one of those days but what are the chances that I get that employee each and every time? Ive even thought okay if everywhere you go there is a problem then its probably you but that doesnt fit either because its only there at the Worst Covina DMV that I have a problem each and every time. Plus Im so polite and easy going I know its not me, lol! My bf could literally sue for discrimination against a person with disabilities after leaving there right now. Headed to El Monte and never going back to W. Covina!

Workers are rude and create problems out of nothing. they treat you like you are below them and have no compassion for anyone, if you ask them a question they make you feel dumb for not knowing the answer even if it’s your first time at the DMV. workers don’t know basic customer service skills and don’t know how to properly interact with people, just insane.

Do the people that work here hate their life? they’re all so rude and act like they don’t know what they’re doing at this dmv. everyone I’ve talked to gave me a different answer to the same question. make me wait 30 minutes each time and sends me home each time for the most random thing. I was sent home for something that wasn’t even a problem the first time I went to take the test. they pick on kids who doesnt have a guardian with them. rude workers with crazy attitudes.
