Second time here for 2 different vehicles. This spot is the best in Northern Cali in my opinion. The owner is no nonsense straight up guy. He gave me legit info and options to get the sound and flow I was looking for. Not once but on different occasions. He is knowledgeable and fair. The fabrication and installation went smooth and I got 100% customer satisfaction. My welder was spot on with skilled work and even made sure certain details were met. Another welder gave me a great recommendation on tires and rims and was knowledgeable of my vehicle. I could go on and on but to sum it up I personally wont be going anywhere else. West coast muffler is my only home for exhaust service. Much appreciated to the guys at the shop.

I was nervous about getting my muffler fixed today, but I had a positive experience with WCM today. They were able to weld my muffler back together for cheaper then it would have been to have the entire system replaced. It sounds and works brand new as far as Im concerned. They were really reasonable with me and with a man fixing his RV (in case potential male customers think I got special treatment, lol). They even gave us some tips on how to pass smog and find car parts.Ive been scammed before. Some of it is sexism and some of it is me being stingy & dumb... but I feel like the service and pricing was professional and efficient. They were recommended by two women, and the second woman was a black lady I interviewed with (in case potential black customers are worried they wont be treated fairly). There was no inappropriate comments or attitudes.I was asked to write this review, but I wasnt given a discount for it or anything like that. I know that reviews are important for businesses (Ive Unleashed The Karen on businesses before...), so Im happy to describe my positive experience for other potential customers to read so that they can keep West Coast Muffler in mind when deciding where to get work done.

Had a very nice Greddy muffler put on as well as custom work done at west coast muffler on my little 2001 Honda civic coupe. Larry gave me an awesome price and they were quick and efficient Gus did the work and the end results turned out to be fantastic sound everything is perfectly aligned and let tell something perfection is my middle name and Larry made sure it was perfect this is an awesome muffler shop as west coast muffler and boy do i tell you, they did an awesome, fantastic, job well done! It totally exceeded my expectations they went above and beyond to please the customer and they did I was and still am a very happy customer. I highly recommend West Coast Muffler in Citrus Heights CA, Larry will take care of you Gus and Justin do phenomenal welding cutting metal fabrication work. After I left the shop I was smiling all the way home smiling happy because that Greddy Revolution muffler is loud just like the way I like it! Loud!!!! Called in needing a new catlytic converter around 2pm (they closed at 5pm). They were able to fit me in and complete the job in under 45min. They also were willing to beat anyones price, but they were just about on par with everyone I called. They also fixed up my exhaust hangar quickly and free of charge after I had already put my car down and paid. Great, quick and quality service.

Went it for new cats and upstream o2 sensors on a Chevy Tahoe, car wouldnt pass smog with old cats and 02, the guys at westcoast muffler took good care of me and replaced everything as well as fix a hole in my exhaust and remount the entire exhaust correctly, Id give this place 10 stars if I were able, thanks alot guys, tahoe has passed smog.

Just relocated from NC. Had a P0420 code. With expense made on relocation I was kinda worried on how much a cat replacement would cost me. My visit here today was great, I was able to come in no appointment needed and get my catalytic converter changed because it wasnt working and also got a small hole patched in my exhaust the guys here were excellent. Wow! Just wow is all I have to say! West Coast Mufflers did an amazing job. I came in bright and early one morning after my catalytic converter was stolen out of my brand new mobile grooming bus. I was supposed to start grooming that very day but was haulted because of the thief. The guys here were able to get my huge bus in first thing in the morning without an appointment and were done before noon. Very kind gentlemen and I highly recommend them for any needs! I mean fingers crossed my catalytic converter doesnt get stolen again but if it does I know where Im going!

Took my truck here to get a flowmaster installed. Very quick on the spot service. I also purchased a black muffler tip. The black muffler tip in less than a year turned to a grey normal colored tail pipe ugly and disappointed. This also happened to my buddy who i recommended go there.

These guys are great! Honest guys who give accurate details and do solid work. No shoe shine or iffy promises. My sons 2002 Tacoma started throwing a check-engine light after our initial attempt at addressing the code. I found West Cost Muffler online and was impressed with their reviews and liked the fact that they were open on Saturday. I didnt get there until 2pm and assumed Id be able to get a quote but would need to come back the following week. After quoting me a reasonable price (not much more than if I had bought the cats myself to install), the owner asked if Id like them replaced today. I thought he was kidding, but he told me they were finishing up a job and had time to complete mine. In less than an hour, they completed the replacements of both cats and I was on my way. I enjoyed hanging out in the office talking with the owner while watching the game on TV. Great service and the truck definitely has more power now.

Took my car to have its (stolen) catalytic converter replaced. They quoted a fair price, and did the work very quickly, including welding rebar to deter a repeat theft. Fast forward about 13 months later, and one of the welds broke on the rebar. I took it back to be repaired, fully expecting to pay, as it was over a year after install, and they did the repair for free! They do good, honest work, at a good (not cheap) price. They stand behind their work, even when they didn’t need to. I would recommend them for any exhaust work you may need.

I’ve been to West Coat Muffler a few times and have always had great service. Most recently my muffler was rattling while sitting idle, whether in park or at a stop light and it was so annoying. I finally had a chance to stop by and have them take a look.When I arrived I was greeted and they had me pull my car into the bay immediately. They took my car up on the rack to see what the problem was. Within seconds they were able to recreate the rattle and fix the issue which was a bent heat shield. They brought my car down, thanked me for stopping by and told me to have a good day.I went from assuming that my muffler would have to be reattached, ready to pay whatever was necessary, to having the issue fixed for no charge. This has been my go to place for muffler/catalytic service and once again they exceeded my expectations. I recommend this company and will be sure to tell anyone that needs this type of service to head their way. Thank you for the professional prompt service.

Generally good work, but over charged me multiple times. The first time I went in they gave me a fair deal for the work, but two times I came back I was overcharged for simple work. Had them reinstall a muffler with piping that came out the back, the tip was 2 inches below where it should have sat at the bumper and it was point in toward the center of the car, didnt notice until I got home - and this was one of the jobs they way over charged me for. Very disappointing.Since then I have found another shop that does great work for a much better price. I even give the workers a nice tip every time they work on the exhaust, and I still pay less than West Coast.

Went here the other day service was slow and they acted like they didn’t want to even work on my car. They also say that they beat everyone’s prices they are way overpriced. They tried to charge me $400 a side for my mufflers. And on top of that they said that my car would be done by 3pm and they didn’t even start until 3:15pm.

One of the only muffler places around that are open on Saturdays, which was really a huge thing for me because the hours I work didnt allow me to come in on weekdays. They did a fantastic job putting some Flowmaster Super 10s on my Challenger a few weeks ago, and yesterday they put some nice quad tips on it. They did a full header back custom exhaust. A different shop wanted to charge the same price but only do half the work. LISTEN, IF YOU NEED A CUSTOM EXHAUST SETUP FOR YOUR CAR, THIS IS THEE PLACE TO DO IT! I took my 1992 Alfa Romeo 164 into their shop to have dual ANSA exhaust tips installed and they did a FANTASTIC job! Just the craftsmanship of the entire exhaust piping they put together is just amazing. They made the custom exhaust setup look like it came from the factory.... painted and everything. Furthermore, they were able to get it done in a day which was just awesome. I also really appreciated how they listed to what I wanted done on my car and more than exceeded my expectations. The price was very reasonable as well! Even if you need to drive a bit to get to their shop trust me, ITS WORTH IT. You will not be disappointed!

Larry and Gus were very quick to get started on work and there’s not awkward waiting in the sitting room while you wait like you would get at any other place. The best part I find is that that have you pull your car up onto the rack yourself so there is not getting nervous about someone else driving your car. Very happy how intricate Gus makes his welds and makes sure that they are lined up how you wish. Overall I was very pleased with their service. As I buy and sell my “car guy” cars, I will always be returning to this place as long as these guys are still around.

I went in to make sure my recently installed catalytic converters hadnt separated or heat shield came open. Not only did they inspect my exhaust system for free, I received a price quote for new exhaust, for my truck to sound like a truck. The quote was pretty close to what I was gonna pay in Colorado which I was getting hooked up. It only took 30 minutes, my truck sounds amazing and the muffler is hidden it looks super clean.The owner is super friendly and been here for like 30 years. I highly recommend and glad I found it. These guys are so amazing, they price matched the lowest quote I was given to replace a stolen catalytic converter. I had only liability coverage so I paid out of pocket. They did an amazing job and used all the right parts for me to pass smog. If you have a prius, get protection or park in your locked garage. Please. Thiefs are out there being absolute garbage. My exhaust was damaged from backing into a high curb. My exhaust was making a lot of noise and banging against the undercarriage of the vehicle. Larry and Gus were both working the day I brought my car in. They immediately put the car on the lift and inspected the damage. Less than 1 hour later, the exhaust was repaired and my car is running much better and sounds normal again. I highly recommend West Cost Muffler Service. They are friendly, honest, and fair in price. Quoted me on the spot said he had time to get my magnaflow exhaust system installed on my ‘19 Silverado that day and would take about an hour to do and was true to his word. Did not finish the job! Paid $200 to bolt on an exhaust built for my car and after 30 min the owner Larry states “your custom exhaust that was purchased elsewhere is junk”, “probably made from China” and he would charge me $1300 for a similar setup. At the last two bolts, instead of moving the brace for the 3 mm adjustment, they were only willing to chop the brand new stainless steel apart.. basically, the whole exhaust was misaligned piece by piece when they put it together therefore I had to go to a professional shop to have it done right! I only stopped in because, as a previous business owner, I believe in supporting local mom and pop shops.. big mistake.. Id never recommend this place, extremely shady..I never saw an owner throw a tantrum until yesterday over being told to make a small adjustment. Heck, Just paid $200 for 25 min of work yet Larry proceeds to berate, insult and run his mouth like this is rocket science. I was the only customer there, with 25 min to shop close and Larry on a tirade about making an adjustment, the techs stopped working, left the right brace hanging as I had no choice but to leave their shop because they were only willing to chop my new exhaust into pieces, ridiculous. Larry states defective parts but clearly its a lack of integrity and expertise from the top down. This was probably my 10th car over the years upgrading exhausts, and trust me, the experience was never this bad.

Sadly some crackhead decided to relieve me of my Catalytic Converter. I have a 96 F350 so finding parts has been a challenge. Larry took control as soon as I called and got it all sorted out. After they fixed it and I left, I realized that there was still some sort of issue going on. Larry was totally cool about it, told me to bring it back and they would check it out. Not only did they check it out, but they removed all of the parts they put on so we could determine what the issue was. Well, it turned out to NOT be their issue. I had just got my truck back from another shop the day before after getting my distributor replaced. One of the tech Gustavo said he thought the timing was off and thats why I was losing power. Called the other shop, the swore up and down that the timing was correct. After Gustavo and the other guy.....sorry other guy, put all of the stuff back on for the second time I took it back to the other shop. Well, guess what, Gustavo was right. Anyway, these guys did the job twice with zero complaints just to make sure I was happy when I left. I will not recommend another shop to my friends ever.

Seven months ago the team at West Coast Muffler, in Citrus Heights, gave best competitive price for complete 4ea catalytic converter replacement on my 520,000 mile 2006 Tacoma 4.0L, with a recently replaced engine.Gus put on new cats, and in and out of the shop efficiently same afternoon, he’s a craftsman.Then 28k miles later had a rare pre catalytic issue that appeared to cause a P0430 OBD code “cat system efficiency below threshold”. I did the needed engine diagnostics testing to prove truck was tuned properly, per warranty requirements, brought it back to them.Larry and Gus inspected for any potential exterior system damage and removed the cat converter and looked for possible clues of improper engine maintenance, then replaced targeted converter quickly, without charges, within a few hours. Outstanding and immediate communication and service from them both. Honest and trustworthy people, and five star company.

I went there to get my 1989 ranger 2.9l v6 a new cat-back exhaust. I told them what I was looking for, and that I already had the muffler I wanted in. They were flexible gave me a great price. Did a really good job on the work too. Their guy Tony is the one that did the work. Everything sounds good and looks good. I did notice I do have a bit of a rattle on the cat. which means I have to take it back to get that taken care of but I am sure I wont get any flack from them about it. Called the shop about getting an axle back welded onto my car and I was quoted $200 to remove the current mufflers and weld the new ones on. I went in that same day cause I needed it on before I went back home. But when I got home I didnt see any welds... they just took the clamps that came with the axle back and used those when I clearly wanted them WELDED on. This shop will get over on you if they can so be aware!!.

Bottom Line Up Front: These guys really know their stuff! They were right about my issue even though I didnt believe it at first. Regardless, they stuck with me, helped me figure everything out, and saved me $5200.Details: I had to replace the catalytic converters on my Toyota Tundra cause I was getting a check engine light from codes P0420/P0430. Unfortunately, the codes were still on after replacement. They had told me it might be the cheap O2 sensors I bought on Amazon. I didnt believe them and went to have it diagnosed by Toyota. Toyota told me I had to buy the OEM catalytic converters and were going to charge me $5200. I went back to these guys (cause I dont have 5200 lying around) and they convinced me to try new O2 sensors. Soooooo glad I went back! They were right. Better quality O2 sensors fixed my issue even though the old O2 sensors passed the Toyota diagnostic and were supposedly working. I would recommend these guys to my grandma... meaning I trust them and will definitely return.

In a word, Awesome!On the way back from lunch, today, I decided to pull in for an estimate. I hadnt called ahead.My 95 Jeep Cherokee needed a new catalytic convertor because something inside the original had come loose and it rattled and clanked without mercy.I had to wait about 5 minutes while Larry finished with another customer and, then, things moved much more quickly than I had any right to expect. He gave me an estimate, a very fair price and, no sooner had I said Lets do it. than my Jeep was up on the rack.In about 20 minutes, it was finished.What a difference. The Jeep, which my wife thought had become a rattle-trap, sounded smooth and quiet as new.They didnt use some cheap, off-brand converter, either. This was a brand new converter made by MagnaFlow, an exhaust parts manufacturer that Ive known for 40-some years, and came with a 5-year, 50,000 mile warranty.$225 for parts and labor; a very fair price for a quality part and a quick, competent installation. Cant beat that.

Took in my 2000 Subaru Impreza Outback, wanted the car to be louder before installing some unequal length headers. These guys knew exactly what they were doing, showed me step by step what they were doing and made sure everything was ok with me. Good strong welds. Cut the muffler clean off and replaced it with a magnaflow muffler that flows and sounds way better than the stock muffler/no muffler. Whole process took less than 30 minutes and was very cheap and well worth it. Will definitely bring any future vehicles here.

I bought a cheap, pre-fab exhaust kit for my 2006 Acura TSX. I only paid $361 for it, and as a result there was fitment issues, and a little bit of quality issues as well, which is a given provided the price I paid. I called up Gus at West Coast, let him know about the Exhaust hanging lower on the left side, than the right side by a wide margin.Also the tips werent welded on, but instead were clamp style tips and they looked cheap and hard marks and abrasions. They offered some tips that were crisp, clean, aesthetically pleasing and most importantly welded on vs clamp. Within 30 minutes they were able to get the exhaust lined up, weld on the new tips and even checked for exhaust leaks as well. Before they welded Gus called me out to make sure I was happy with the placement and the tips before he welded. I have been going to West Coast Mufflers for over 10 years now and it is because of great service, high quality work, and reasonable prices. Larry, Gus and the Crew at West Coast stand behind their work, and produce excellent quality work at that.To say I am satisfied with my new modified exhaust is an understatement.Thanks again Gus, Larry and the Crew at West Coast Muffler!

I came here based on reviews to have exhaust. Installed on my ram truck. Larry suggested that I get a y pipe adapter and an 18 inch magnaflow. I wanted dual tailpipe that angled downward behind the rear tires. The job was done perfectly. The tailpipe were installed exactly how I asked. The y pipe was a great suggestion, Ive noticed better throttle response and my economy light comes on sooner and stays on longer, so I should see some minor gas mileage improvement. I pulled into the West Coast Muffler parking lot and was greeted at the door by an employee who sincerely cared about my visit. After I told him I had an exhaust manifold leak, he pointed to the #2 lift and told me to drive my old pick-up truck right in. In less than 8 minutes, he had diagnosed the problem exactly. The passengers side was leaking in the middle. He even let me listen with his stethoscope! Sadly, they dont replace exhaust manifolds on old trucks but he referred me to someone who does. I was relieved to finally know where the leak was and where to fix it. When I asked what I owed, he said Nothing. Wow, I told him Thanks and that l would be back for new mufflers very soon. Typical trickster mechanic. Long story short. I brought them an audi q5. Made it clear that I wanted mounting done as stock as possible. After attaching a direct fit bolt on hitch the exhaust was significantly out of place. When I returned and showed them that they mounted incorrectly easily seen by the position of the mufflers they wanted to charge an extra 80 for the adjustment. Obviously I went somewhere else for that. Dont go here if youre looking for quality work.

A deffinate 5 Star rating.Excellent communication by Larry explaining what I needed on the car to achieve the sound I was seeking.Enspite that I thought I knew what I wanted and what the car needed.Funny we discovered after raising the vehicle and checking out what I thought would be the original exhaust system, it was notThe car had already been changed to the three chamber muffler without resinators on the car. A three chambered exhaust with no resinator.Too tame and quiet.My 2012 Dodge Challenger required more volume and base.Allen and Scott put a 4 inch bullet, two chamber mufflers on, and did a top Notch weld I might add, and I cant express enough the amount of latitude given for my lack of knowledge.West Coast Muffler gave the Dodge Challenger the base sound needed to hear the car downshift and ramp up the volume when you get on it. Now it sounds great .Thanks to their experienced personnel. Superb! Thank you very much...
