We had dinner here after reading some positive reviews. We would never have walked in just from walking past as it doesnt look much from the outside or even inside but it was a lovely restaurant. It is a no-frills type place. Our waiter Larry serving us was very attentive and had a great personality, he was making us laugh a lot. He let us sample some of the wines before making our order. We ordered bolognese and spaghetti carbonara, both were lovely and tasted very authentic. I would certainly recommend this restaurant, we were made to feel really welcome for the whole duration of our visit and would definitely return!

Disappointed in this Italian place ( my home food). The starter bread was ok. My Ceasar salad was ok. I had chicken parm and wasn’t that good. My meat seemed like a chicken patty, the sauce was flat and not much cheese. I was very surprised to realize it didn’t come with any spaghetti. The service was ok and our server seemed not on top of his game. We ordered an appetizer of calamari and it wasn’t fried but steamed…. I’d never reorder it

West Coast Cafe is restaurant where we celebrate special occasions like birthdays. Weve been here a few times. Bonus points for accommodating large parties in their back area. Our group was eleven. Everyone was happy with their appetizers, drinks and entrees. Service was excellent. They let us have a taste of the wine before committing to bottles. There are daily specials, so pay attention when the waitress is announcing them. I was really in the mood for pesto and it was not listed on the menu or the specials. The waitress was nice enough to talk to the chef to make me a pesto fettuccine with chicken. Great job everyone at West Coast Cafe.

My first Italian food in SF since 2020, this restaurant really make me happy! The food quality is very good,1. Bruschetta is excellent, the bread is crispy and the tomato mix with oliver oil has refreshing taste.2. West coast salad surprised me with a lot of calamari in the toppings.3. Mixed Seafood spaghetti taste just right. I saw a lot of table ordering this one.4. Veal with mozzarella cheese on top. I like the meat, tender. There is a piece of ham on top of the mozzarella cheese. I found the ham is a little salty for me.5. Special tonight, grilled pork chop, big portion and the taste is excellentThe servers are very nice and friend, excellent service and they smile all the time.

We walked in and were immediately greeted with a super friendly staff! The waitor was very helpful and had great recommendations. I had the veal saltimbocca and it was delicious!!! I also, had the Lentil soup and that was scrumptious! If you are in the area I highly recommend this place!

Speciality Italian restaurant serving variety of foods for all palate.I tried the Linguine Tuttomare (pictured). It was a perfect delicious combination of fresh clams, prawns, scallops & generously spread calamari in a pomodoro sauce. They also ask for shredded parmesan cheese to be sprinkled on the pasta.Next day tried Lamb Chops (pictured). Mouth watering, delicious, had perfect ingredients and cooked well.Food did come on time, and they serve appetizer bread when you are seated.Taste was amazing and fulfilling.Restaurant has comfortable atmosphere and lot of seating space.Owner and servers take care for good experience.

The pastas were good but somewhat bland. Nothing you can complain about but not much that was memorable about them. The tiramisu was outstanding and I loved it. Service was ok. Ambiance and atmosphere is ok. I guess its a competent restaurant that you wont regret going to but will soon forget after having been there.

We came here with a very large group of people. One of our servers was Larry. That dude was funny he was just himself and it was hilarious. He was great. Food and drinks were great! I never had to sit there and wait for refills or anything! They were extremely accommodating. One of the owners even personally took care of us and he was also a super cool funny down to earth guy! Overall 10/10 I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. The pasta and salmon and tiramisu was amazing! Give these guys a shot they’re awesome!

Very nice Italian food. I really enjoyed their angel hair pasta and kind/ attentive service. Nice family atmosphere and traditional looking Italian design that is warm.Only complaint is if you want more sauce, they charge $5!

No a/c but that was doable for the most part, doubt that it will be one the summer gets into gear. Our dear friend brought a wonderful Sparkling Zinfandel from one of our favorite wineries. We told our waiter what it was and my friend directed him to put the corkage fee on his card. We had walked about 4 blocks to this restaurant from our friends place as we were leaving our car with him while we were in Spain for a month. The bottle sat on the table for about 10+ minutes while we chatted and ordered. Larry, our waiter came back and proceeded to open the bottle (without using a napkin on the cork and pointing the bottle right above our table, both of which are not proper and customary) and released a geyser which soiled our table, clothes as well as the wall with almost half the bottle!!!! After the fiasco rendered our table unihabitable, we moved to another. Larry brought us a Tide pen to use on our clothing which was useless, but he said we could keep it as they had hundreds of them, apparently this was not an isolated incident although when we asked Larry how the restaurant was going to compensate us for our ruined clothing arrogant and prideful Larry said are you saying this was my fault? Ive opened hundreds of bottles and this has never happened, you all must have done something to the bottle!! Unbelievable!!!! What he should have done was apologize profusely and offer us a nice bottle of wine on the house since our lovely sparkling zin was sprayed all over the walls, table and our clothing.After dinner, which was quite good actually, our friend was presented with a bill for the corkage fee which we promptly crumpled up and tossed to the floor.Once we return from our extended vacay we shall see how the restaurant handles our request for restitution for our spilled Sparkling wine and soiled clothing..... to be continued.

A meal to remember!!What a nice little find during my recent trip to the Bay Area. It was my first time in San Bruno, The West Coast Cafe was recommended by the Crown Plaza San Fran Airport staff, they were not wrong as this is an amazing restaurant! I was solo that night, and the owner came to my table to chat and recommend dishes. Thats class!My first course was the infamous West Coast Salad with Grilled and marinated seafood on a bed of fresh salad, absolutely delicious!! The ownerAnastasios recommendation. My second course was the Vitello Saltimbocca, a wonderfully made dish, finally, I ended my meal with an old favourite Creme Brulee. If you are ever in SanBruno, stop in you wont be disappointed!! The staff and the owner treated me like royalty from the moment I walked in !!!

The food was amazing. The ambience was like a proper old school Italian restaurant. I had the gnocchi with red sauce with the Caprese salad as a starter. Note that the dinner portions are just right for one person if you are also having appetizers and dessert, dont expect to be going home with a box. I always judge a place by their creme brulee and they came through!!!

Not too many places have caused me to go in the search for the owner of a place. This time it had me to tears, their lamb chop dish, as it was exquisite. It brought up a core memory of my childhood, it had me transported back to my childhood when my grandfather would share his lamb dish with me. As soon as the smell and flavors hit my taste buds it was a whole childhood trip. Last night I was blessed to have my Mom along for the ride and she agreed, it was the best moments of our lives. The gnocchi was just as exquisite! Creamy, soft delicious gnocchi. Will for sure be back for some more. This is a must try place!!!!

I’ve dined here before and wanted to give a small local restaurant or business for a graduation celebration. We asked to be seated in the back. They were nice and seated us. Unfortunately they had very loud Spanish music playing - in an Italian restaurant. This annoyed me because we’re all Italian and Sicilian and the vibe was way off. We didn’t go to Celia’s, where it would be weird to hear Italian music right? We came to an Italian restaurant. In addition, though our waiter was nice he wasn’t great. We had to ask multiple times to turn the music down. We were the only ones back there. Also, he didn’t share the specials with the rest of the party when they arrived and the flow was choppy. This is not the experience I remember from our last visit.

The place is small and cousy, the food for most part was delicious. The pasta was great and cream brulle was fantastic, but they should be ashamed for what the call antipasto... 4 wafer thin slices of mortadelle and prosciutto 2 olives (not good) and a slice of Parmesan for 12$. Stuff could be more attentive too.

Second time coming and definitely will not be coming back. We came with a group of 10 and were willing to pay a substantial price for our larger party; however, one of us ordered “a Caesar salad” and was served eight instead. When we confronted the waitress she said “I thought you said eight”– there was no apology or correction. We even had to pay a bill of eight salad, total $96, for the waitress’s mistake. Really dissatisfied with their professionalism as this should be regarded as a higher end restaurant.

Lovely local Italian restaurant in San Bruno. The service and ambience were very nice. Servers are very friendly. We shared a cesar salad and both had the pasta fruits di mare which were excellent! Dont forget their tiramisu for dessert. Its close proximity to our hotel made for a nice, relaxing dinner prior to our flight the next day. We will return again! (Reservations recommended as they were quite busy for a Thursday.)

I came to this restaurant with a great family friend. It was not that full when we got there but by the time we left it was just about full.The waiter seemed a little young and inexperienced. He seemed mildly happy to be there. He read off the specials which turned out to be not what I had ordered.The food tasted mostly made with processed ingredients. The Alfredo sauce tasted like Prego. The fish was just ok. They include polenta which has just about zero flavor.Im giving it a 4 for staying in the neighborhood and providing dinners for the locals.

Ordered a take out order. Came in to get the order and one guy said he couldnt help me but those two can. I stood in there watching other people come in and get there food and leave. Had a great meal for Mothers Day with my wife and sister, just lost our Mother this year and Italian food was her favorite. We like this place, food is good, very good! Being it was Mothers Day they were the busiest Ive ever seen then. So for me it took a little longer just to get the menu. The service was just alright, but this is not normal. A lot more staff tonight but I think they tried to give very good service to the larger gropes and fell a little short on service at our table. We will return but not on a day like mothers day.

One of my favorite local restaurants and still the best gnocchi Ive had in California. The side bread is fresh baked and still hot when it gets to your table. The lemonade was a fantastic blend of tart and sweet and the service is superb. I highly recommend stopping in for a meal at West Coast Cafe!

Food was taste. Smaller than normal portions for an Italian food. Chicken Parm was decent but SMALL. My pasta was ok but expecting mind blowing taste, kind of plain. It was pretty much ok. And it was expensive for the quantity and quality. I will definitely try again and update my review. Could be an off day!

Didnt really expect much, because from outside wasnt the nicest place, but the food was surprising food and importantly fresh. Our waitress was crazy nice, which made the dining experience eventful. Very solid Italian fare. Also on a positive note, Ive never had such quick service in my life. We were in and out in about a half an hour. And it was quality food, as well. I had the seafood pasta and my wife had the Alfredo linguini. I dont like Alfredo so I cant speak to that but the seafood was delicious. The sauce was divine and the shellfish was all fresh and scrumptious. It was also quiet, though it was a Thursday night so that may be why. Definitely a good choice for some Italian food.

Atmosphere would have been better if they had some classic Italian music playing...unfortunately they didnt ...but the table 2 over had a baby and had kids songs playing at top volume for most of our dinner. The waiter Joel was nice. I had lasagna it was good but there wasnt any cheese in it? There was mozzarella on top of sauce and noodles. My husband had Fettuccine with sausage and marinara. He like it. We skipped dessert.

Definitely disappointed, surprised by how highly this restaurant is currently rated in comparison to my experience. My salad clearly had bad lettuce, visibly brown and wilted. The sandwich came with bitter/old greens, and the gnocchi had strange bits of previous meals in it.

Very disappointed. We came here for lunch, being effected by their sign Italian Restaurant. Since my wife has an allergy to the citric acid, we asked for the dishes without it. The waiter replied that all the food is pre-marinated, they dont have any fresh seafood or even any varieties of the dressing for the salads. Very typical for fast-food chain restaurant...

We thought it might not be enough but the waiter said, Its a lot of food. Of course its better for me if you buy more, but I need to be honest with you. He must have over heard our conversation that we were only just a little hungry. And we appreciate it that a lot.Weve been there a few times before and enjoyed it, but hadnt been in a couple of years. We were very pleased to see that the food and service is still superb. This is one of those places thats a total hidden gem in the middle of Downtown San Bruno in a small and unassuming spot. I like how no one really knows about it! My old boss was the first person to turn me on to here. We had a few team lunches and Ive subsequently brought other friends whenever Im nearby. The place is pretty authentic Italian. The service is attentive and they have a pretty good variety as well. Its relatively affordable, especially in comparison to SF cuisine. For starters, Ive had the Bruschetta, Proscuitto con Fruta and Caprese salad. My favorite entree is the Linguine Tutto Mare. They also have good fresh fish specials!
