Loved the fact that I could go shopping at 0500 in the morning. Only place in town that has the specific cottage cheese that I was looking for. Just a little bothersome that all the aisles had boxes up and down as staff were trying to pack the shelves ... Made it hard navigating . Will definitely shop there again .

Grocery store is well stocked and very clean. I like their floral section and large selection of plants and gifts including balloons. Sliced fruit and prepared salads are ready to go. Great deli for hot foods and cold pasta salads or chicken salad. Guaranteed fresh bread by 5pm

Great selection, however the layout of the store is terrible for the amount of traffic it receives. The aisles are very cramped, and a single shopping cart can clog the whole aisle. This store is in a very busy shopping center, so youll probably waste a lot of time trying to get around others. The prices here tend to be higher than other grocery stores in the area. Despite all the problems this store has, the international foods aisle make this store worth visiting

Cashier lady at self checkout assumed I didnt pay for my lobster. So without asking me she picks up my lobster and then rescans it. I literally had to tell her I already paid for it. No sorry or anything very racist.

They tend to have the best produce and groceries in town, VONS is owned by Safeway and this franchise always represent quality with affordability. They have boars head meat products which actually a New York base company and that tells how NY delis have good sandwiches because of the boars head meat… great deals on Friday on all their donuts, spend more save more on all their products . Look out for coupons, download their app to even save more, Tuesday, they have the best steaks just like the one sold in Costco but in VONS you don’t need membership at all . Highly recommended and there’s more for me to mention but you could find that out yourself…their customer service is superb and Exquisite

Terrible workers and even worst management. When I went there the other day, on a Saturday of this November. I felt like I was under attack by two different workers. The first worker who I felt like was the ruddiest and very very racist was Raymond who is a cashier, is white, tall, old, and wears glasses. He had such an issue with my sister using her benefits card for her BABY. Mind you we did not get a lot of stuff and he kept looking me and her up and down giving dirty looks. Then he proceeded to slam the receipt on the counter and only give small worded responses. So I don’t really know if he has a hard time with speaking or not but he is terrible and I felt like I was being degraded by him even though he is the one working a 9-5 at his age. Then the manager that came to “help” was not any better. He was huffing and puffing that he had to help and made sure that we knew he was very frustrated to do his job. He then gave me and my sister also dirty looks while giving attitude over nothing. As someone who believes that if you are working that type of job, I think you should have the curiosity to fake a smile because I sure as hell won’t ever give those two a smile or haunting from here on out. Vons is incredibly racist and I suggest that anyone of color refrains from going there!

Not sure what changed, but i was at self checkout. my daughter wanted to help, so i handed her stuff so she can use the handheld gun to scan items, the person watching the self checkout register came to my register and oause and looked up and down at my cart then left. Didnt see her check anyone else. I noticed 2 items didnt scan with the right price. So i went to find her, she was not at her spot but 3 registers over talking with a coworker, she looked at me and turned away til i said i needed help, but it looked like she was annoyed when i asked for help. So i showed her the error on the screen and she said did u take a picture of the price, im like no, cuz how would i know it wouldnt ring up right? She said well u need to go and take a picture of the price cuz apparently she couldnt leave the register but she left earlier to talk to a coworker? So i went back and took a picture of it. But they couldnt have someone go check the price? I didnt want to leave 2 kids at the register by themselves. Smh. First of all u made me feel like i would steal over $100 of groceries. And 2nd u did the bare minimum and annoyed when we needed assistance. U know at vons u can easily spend over $100 without filling up the cart and I was bagging my own stuff. So there definitely wasnt any perks. So no need for the attitude

Im giving this a 3 because I dont want to besmirch all Vons, just location on Cedar in North fresno. Ive been a Safeway customer for many years. When I moved to fresno a year ago I was thrilled to learn that Vons and Safeway are the same company. This Vons, however, is problematic. On two occasions now Ive purchased food that was moldy or contaminated when I opened it. I go shopping every couple of days since I live alone and dont want to waste food because I purchased more than I can consume in a timely manner. Last night I went to the market and purchased, among other things, two packages of Oscar Meyer bologna. I opened the first tonight, took out the top piece, and discovered that every subsequent piece had a wet, moldy spot the grew bigger the deeper I went into pack. I threw that pack away and opened the second. It appears to be fine but theres no way I can eat it. I cant trust it so that $14 dollars (2×6.99) that I wasted. Bread I expect that I wont finish the loaf but a few slices in and theres already mold. Thats happened on multiple occasions despite me taking the precautions of keeping it in the freezer, signifying that it was likely already going bad when I bought it. I bought an apple pie two weeks ago and after two days theres was mold growing on it. This doesnt happen with food I purchase anywhere else, including other Vons. Whomever buys for this location over purchases buying more than can reasonably be expected to be purchased before its useful life expires. Whomever manages this location is clearly more concerned with reducing waste than food safety. The ironic thing is they stay out of stock on certain products for extremely long periods of time. They havent had lactose free sour cream or butter in months. They havent had lactose free half and half in 3 weeks, at least. It seems like rather than actually checking inventories someone sits at a desk and orders with no consideration for the expiration date of foods or whats in stock. Either that or theres no food rotation. Food is too expensive these days to just throw it away because of poor grocery management. I chose Safeway/ Vons to mitigate those risks and up until I encountered this location Ive never been disappointed. Think twice before shopping here. I will say that the produce section is outstanding.

I love this Vons. Great staff that I have gotten to know over the years. Store is always clean and they have what I need to live life. Having said that, their deli is fantastic, but always under staffed. I always wait. Always. It’s the one area that most people have on their shopping list that requires assistance. Why there’s only two people there working their butts off to prepare food yet and trying to serve 10 others is beyond me. At $15 a pound for deli meat, (yes you read that right, Fifteen dollars!) you’d think the additional employee would pay for themselves.

I always go shopping here for groceries. Prices are phenomenally great in Fresno, as well as the deals they have going on all the time. It pays well to be a Vons member (For FREE!!) and the savings are such a life saver, especially with everything so high in price all around the valley. It is hard to find certain vegetables or fruits but speciality grocers would have what you need. Over all 10/10 experience for me.

This grocery store is by far my favorite in town. The bakery and floral department are amazing!!! The kiddos always get a free treat at the bakery and the floral department is always so beautiful. The delis food is sooooo good. The Mac n cheese and chicken strips are special after a doctor visit or day with mom. Produce is the best by far and no, I dont mind paying a little more for fruit that isnt on the edge of being spoiled. Lastly, the employees are always very nice and go out of their way for us.

This would be what some refer to as my regular store. This fine establishment has catered to my every grocery and extra- curricular grocery(wine, spirits, liquor and beer) desire. The staff here are almost like family and assist me with every question and or requests that i may present. If youre wanting friendly, prompt and precise service, save yourself some time and come here, it will be well worth the drive especially if you dont know a whole lot and did have a regular store. If you arrive in the evening, the managers badge is Tom, hes one of the nicest, cordial and accommodating managers Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting. Do yourself and your refrigerator a favor, shop Vons cedar and shepherd.

Place is messy with crates in isle still, isles seem overly crowed with floor displays, isles dont accommodate 2 people in same isle. Not all but most just want you out of their way when checking out. Not too friendly, security seems to be an issue there too. If you dont fit the normal clientele youre usually followed by a shopper without a cart or one with that has items that no one wanted.

Whenever I’m looking for something new or if they do not have something on the shelf they are more than willing to help. I liked piner jna complaint from a chubby woman who paints her eyebrows very marked, I dont remember her name! But I do remember that she was a very good worker with her position as a bagger, she helped you with everything, she separated the vegetables and the meat and chicken, she smiled, she talked with all the clients, but when they put her as head of cashiers, she became arrogant, arrogant, rude with the cashiers, giving orders, and especially with the customers, and with me she was rude and did not help me with what I asked for, and I was one of the customers that I was glad to see her and help me put in the. plastic bags . We went over to Fresno to visit my family and whats the time we stop by have the store has they have a really good selection of fresh-cut flowers. The store is fairly busy and they have enough people covering the floor. They have a good line of products and their checkers are also efficient.

Friendly, helpful staff. Large well lit and well stocked store with excellent fresh produce and fruit. Like all Vons/Safeway stores they are a tad expensive, but their products are high quality. I like their store brand products. Excellent bakery; the baker makes German Pumpernickel bread on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Restrooms are clean. They have a Vons gas station in the same shopping center. Customers are neat & clean too!

Vons is a five star 🌟 grocery store from fresh produce, baked goods and anything in between. The milk also comes in a bottle for those who grew up old school, thats what you call good to the last drop. Vons is very clean and well stocked. Employees are attentive and greet you with a smile. Its worth the drive because I know Im getting the best quality.Just wish Kings County had a Vons or Visalia it would be nice in the future. I recommend Vons to family and friends.

As an infrequent patron, I found the store clean and for the most part, well organized. Most of the store shelves were stocked and only a few sections were empty. Produce varieties and prices were competitive. The weak link was the cashier, where attitude and friendliness is a hit or miss proposition.

The store manager could be a lot friendlier to the Hispanic community. I was in line waiting to purchase a DoorDash order and I couldn’t help to notice the Caucasian senior in front of me and also Caucasian miss behind me were greeted and acknowledged very well but when it came to the store manager helping me out with some trouble with the DoorDash credit card not going through I received some judge-mental racial profiling looks coming from him just on his low willingness to continue helping me or offering a solution

This is a great local market. The store is clean and bright with a good assortment of groceries including good fresh meat, fish and vegetables. These are higher in prices than elsewhere, especially organics. But if you want fresh bread, a good cheese and soup, sandwiches and a salad pre-made to go, the convenience and variety makes this a good choice.

Good selection but could be better. Why arent Stacys Pita Chips in the chip isle? Small bags were very expensive too! $4 per small bag is outrageously expensive for flour and water! This store only had 1 manned isle open and it was long so we opted for self checkout. The register was the most complicated self checkout I have EVER had the misfortune of using. Since we are checking out ourselves we should receive a discount because for 1 its challenging and 2 they are saving loads of money by not employing a cashier and a bagger! I loved their olive bar. This store was clean. But for the high prices and reduced employees at checkout its NOT worth the prices. At the very least make the bags free at self checkout.

I went there tonight to use a E-Giftcard on my phone that I have used twice before and Gretchen who is a manager was very very rude about it and told me I can’t use it like that and that they are not allowed to do it like that. I have used an E-Giftcard on my phone twice at this store and had no problem but this time Gretchen was very rude and kept saying they can’t scan my phone and that they won’t do it and didn’t even try to help me figure it out. I needed those groceries because my house has barely any food right now and those groceries was enough food to last till the end of next week and so my family could have dinner and food to eat till then. I am not happy with my customer service I received at this store.

Used to be my home store, since remodel the isles are too small, its always packed full of people, tries too hard to be hip with a Starbucks inside when there is already one in the same parking lot. The space could be better used for oh, I dont know, maybe groceries and shopping? It also too dark inside in areas. Its too bad, used to be a good store.

I started using the Vons Drive Up & Go after a horrible experience with Walmarts (over an hour later with an additional hour and a half wait). Vons has been consistently bringing out the food within 4 minutes and will often finish orders early (but the food is always still cold-ice cream nowhere near melted). I have been thoroughly impressed with them.

Awful when i went shopping i picked up all my items when i get to register my sodas rang up more then what i had in my email. So as i am explaining what i had in my email they had to cancel my order pulled me to the side with my items. The lady im sure maybe a floor manager made me so nervous i couldnt bring up and find my email with a different price that i felt so rushed. She made me feel like a liar and i was just trying to get away with a freeby. Vons, owned by Safeway, is a really good grocery store. Its clean, well stocked and has the best quality of fresh fruits and vegetables around. Its a little more pricey than other stores (ie WalMart), but the quality is much greater. Check out is fast and accurate, they offer to walk your cart to your car and unload it, and they do it with a smile. Its my go to choice for produce and other items, and their deli section has great choices. It costs a little more but its well worth it.

This is one of the nicest grocery stores in Fresno. Im not a snob, but appreciate a clean, organized, well-run establishment of any kind. They have an excellent deli and bakery, a Panda Express and Starbucks, and they even sell bulk loose leaf teas for a really good price ($1.50 - $2.00/Oz vs. $6 - $15/Oz at a tea shop).

I had bad experience cashing my lottery winnings. They always make excuses while cashing California lottery tickets. Something needs to be done either by ca lottery or Vons corporation to fix this ongoing problem. Frustrated. I have already called corporate office and filed a complaint. I just came home from this place and I am livid. I dont plan on ever going back. Its a nice store but the variety of products is limited. Even that I can deal with. The people working there are so rude! They act like they cant be bothered. The check out clerk was stand offish and not helpful. Vons is very hit or miss with pricing and selection. They run much higher than Walmart and tend to disguise this fact with their membership deals. They do have a moderately large selection of interesting fruit but half has been spoiled lately. The flower dept and bakery dept is really good and well priced though, so that is a redeeming quality. Overall, it is more expensive but offers some good items in select categories.

Their produce is truly lovely. Im strictly organic so I know Ill be paying more but I cant BELIEVE how expensive Vons is on ALL products. Their meat/seafood department is WAY BELOW average. Never buy there. I asked for ground sirloin and was shown regular ground beef. She told me no one labels ground sirloin anymore.....when she left assisting me I took another look and saw ground sirloin....oooops!!! It looked unappetizing and went with grass fed beef. I did return to the counter to see IF there was a sirloin steak that they would fresh grind but she said they didnt have sirloin steak...hhhmmmmm. The people that work there are AMAZING AND HELPFUL. For the price I believe the store is WAY WAY overpriced. Think Ill just go back to Whole Foods for amazing EVERYTHING.....Amazon made an affordable difference.

The selection in the deli is better than most other stores (the Vons at Shepherd and Cedar has an even better selection. ) The employees are all very friendly and helpful, many of them greet me by name as I walk into the store, (i.e. they remember me, they are not reading my name off the credit card/receipt. )

Another bad experience with buying crab and oysters at Vons. The last crab was black and nasty, yesterday, they looked like 2nd quality product. Not 1 half was intact with a pinch and all legs. None had a pincher and they were broken up sections with dead joints from missing links.The oysters are a joke. About the size of a prescription bottle cap. My daughter recently got married in Laguna Hills California in an intimate family ceremony and Vons in Laguna Woods made her red rose wedding bouquet, a secondary bouquet, roses for the wedding cake and 4 centerpieces for the luncheon. Venus, the floral manager there, did an awesome job and the prices were extremely reasonable.In addition, we asked the bakery department, Joanne is the manager, to make us a wedding cake that didnt cost a fortune. She was very creative and stacked an 8 round cake on a 10 round cake added all the beautiful wedding designed frosting with pearls and red roses for the topper and a few strategically placed on the cake and saved us $100 easily. The vanilla cake with rassberry filling was so moist and flavorful everyone was very happy.
