Me and my friend Jerome M. went in to do some groceries shopping for dinner and we were followed around the store because we are black and at first I thought I was wrong but when the same 2 employees that were following us around werent following anyone else or watching anyone else their were other black people in the store but werent being followed after we asked them what we were being followed they said that we have stolen from there before was told by management to follow us around the store and we both havent been in the store since high school and were 37 now crazy

Good selection of food and reasonable prices, however the store is far too dark. We dont shop there because of the lack of light. On the rare times we do, I need a flashlight to read labels.Theyve added self checkout lanes now - without bags. You need to f8nd an employee and ask for a specific number of bags, then wait for them to get them for you. Not too time efficient.

This is my favorite Vons in Bakersfield. The store is always well stocked and the employees are friendly and helpful. I always find what I am looking for here. I have used the restroom once and it was very clean. They also have a Wells Fargo bank inside. They also have a pharmacy inside.

The lady who had the badge book keeper is a racist evil woman. She has always given me a bad attitude whenever I have to do any form of business at the counter. She would find every excuse to not serve me or have me wait for long period of time. Once she served everyone infront of me then say I have to wait for someone else to be available as she is going to do something else, I was the only one left in the line. Today she refuse to cash my tickets saying she will not have any cash leave for anyone else. This is a supermarket with an abundance of cash for circulation and she is the book keeper how difficult can it be to balance. This lady is giving a bad impression of the location.

Wonderful store layout and great staff. I personally think that the remodel was a great improvement. I will continue shopping here for in store needs however not for pickup orders unfortunately. The Pickup staff here lack the great customer service I have seen at other locations and are slightly unreceptive to my feedback when I have small problems with my pickup orders.

Came up here three times to speak to manager about employment opportunities. Received the run around just to be told there are none. Please update your websites. They show plenty of opportunities that are apparently no longer there. Unless this was a discrimination thing? Or have the decency to let people know if employment is available. In this current economy a job is needed by everyone. We no longer have the luxury to wait for a maybe.

Got my mothers prescriptions and they were very nice even when I asked them to use Singlecare. Price was lower than other places. I also got some sirloin steaks on sale for dinner that were excellent along with a great price. Very clean friendly store. Great experience.

While I understand that remodels are necessary, it was disappointing to see such drastic cutbacks in the store. Even more disappointing was the fact that there is very little vegetarian food anymore in the freezer section yet there are three full isles of alcoholic beverages - no cutback there. The staff has indicated that the freezers and storage units in the back are full. We are also being told that this situation will be this way until August as the new refrigeration and freezer units are on back order. I’ve been shopping at the store since it opened and I’m sad to have to find another store now to do my shopping. I’ll revisit in August when the remodel is supposedly supposed to be fixed. Very disappointed.

I like their products. I love that they have a Starbucks in the store. Usually I have no problems. Today after I got my haircut next door I went into Vons I bought a Starbucks drink then walked over to the deli, nobody greeted me. I looked at the deli items with intent to buy several deli items, and waited patiently by the counter for assistance. A worked asked if she could help me but her tone of voice was extremely rude and she had face piercings and looked unprofessional. My friend said that the lady reacted that way because they have problems with homeless people coming in etc which my reply to him was do I look homeless? I just had a shower within 2 hours, smelled of a nice perfume, just got a fresh haircut, and was dressed in brand name clothing with large logos all over it holding a Starbucks.

Always a great experience .. I have the option of always having a handicap stall parking up front and then the shopping electric shopping cart to ride inside. It was nice and clean and everyone helped me when i needed help. Awesome staff willing to be there for the shoppers. After i got all my items I got into their roped line and staff directed me towards an open cashier to comply with COVID-19 guidelines. Then a staff member helped me to my car and unloaded my groceries for me and took back the scooter cart for me. Vons is just a great place to shop for me .. always happy to shop there with such a kind and friendly staff. I love coming here for whatever I need 🥰🥰

Since the remodel I hate the store setup....I cant find what I want...just going back and forth! Today I went floors ripped up and areas not in use....Im thinking of changing where I shop!

The pharmacy staff tried to kill my husband who is diabetic by refusing to give him the antivirals that his doctor prescribed on the basis that he had to give them his blood test and positive covid test. The store overprices and caters to the rich elite. Would not recommend. If I could I would give them negative numbers.

The store is clean, laid out kind of strange. There dont ever seem to be a lot of people working at any given time. The employees seem to be friendly and the lines seem to move quickly. Though their produce section looks nice and well kept, I never care for the flavor of, or lack thereof I should say, of any of the fruits or vegetables.

Shop there on the five dollar Friday deals usually in the 6am or 7am hour when theres less customers at those times. For those who say Vons is overpriced you need a Vons Club to get the good deals. I really enjoy the Signature Brand.

The store seems busy at times but the checkout lines are fairly quick. Prices are more for some items than what you would pay at some other stores so you should comparison shop and also use their Vons Club Card. The store always appeared clean and is upscale. Service is friendly.

Outstanding service! Spent 15-20 minutes looking for raw or roasted shelled sunflower seeds. Asked lady in the deli area...she gave me suggestions as to what aisle...I couldnt find so headed to cashier to buy what we already had...lady from deli tracked me down with a container of exactly what I needed!

Shopping experience was actually a lot of fun as went with my BFF. I wasnt shopping (so I thought) went because it was late & didnt want her to go alone we both bought more than we anticipated and had to strategically place everything inorder to get all of it to fit in her car. Also, store had such a variety of items majority Ive never seen or heard of & I was going crazy wanting to try this & that and...and... I will definitely go back even though its not even remotely close to my house!

I thought I would run in and out, but once again bad service.Now I was mentally prepared for the lack of check out clerks & long lines. I was hoping for the best but unfortunately Dawn at the hot deck/ deli section ruined it. She was so engaged in conversation w/her coworkers when I asked for help she told me to go back & wait on the other lady that sent me to her on the first place because she was helping someone else.Thank goodness Ana came she was very nice, polite, and more than happy to do her job.I waited to speak w/a manager but after 2 calls the clerk told me he was chatting w/family members that came to the store so I left.It seems the manager set the tone for misplaced priorities. I smelled a clean store spacious and many selections for frsh produce i was escorted to the tortillas and when i got in line my young store clerk went out of his way to retrieve a can of diced tomatoes. I will go back to this store location. Milk prices are very reasonable. The parking lot has lots of room with Disabled parking wheelchair access. Very impressed with everthing and the employees too

I bank with Wells Fargo and directly when you walk in on the right-hand side they have an ATM where you can deposit loose cash, checks, and take out up to $300 at a time. Makes it very convenient for me to do service at. The Vons grocery store is very cleanly, with a great selection of produce and wine, beer, and liquor. The staff is friendly, and all-around great place to shop for those last minute needed items of food

The Albertsons I went to at 11 a.m. was already out of a $5 Friday item. Luckily, Vons (its sister store) was about 1/2 mile away & had plenty.4/10/22 -- I went to Vons again for $5 Friday since I was rite by there. I went in for a breakfast sandwich and the service was good. I had my choice of roll, egg, and meat. What is great is that they use a convection oven to heat it. The price was only $3.49. A better qaulity sandwich for about the same price as fast food restaurants. They offer many sandwich selections and are some of the best sandwich recipes Ive seen for a deli. Recommeded to try out.

Terrible service the Star Bucks employee did NOT have any idea how to do a gift card and they only had Happy Birthday ones so fourced to use it for a thank you gift. I had to go through two transactions to get it right. The person helping at the Vons on Coffee road had no idea what she was doing. Glad I did not have her make me a coffee! Nice size store with a huge variety of products and a huge variety within producrs to choose from. They have everything one would need for a GMO free and Organic Diet. Given that fact I would assume anyone on a special diet will find what they need here. The only thing this and all other big grocery stores could improve is adding staff to cover the paying lines of customers before anything else.

On 2/11/17 we went to the floral department to ask about wedding flowers, no one was in the area and they had to go find someone from that department. I was told it would be a while, because they were busy for Valentines Day. I was also informed nothing could be ready for a wedding before Valentines Day. I said no problem the wedding is a couple of months away. Then a lady came up was going to make us an appointment, but couldnt accommodate any of the days that would work with our schedule. The Mondays we are off were not available because that is their delivery day and any other week day we would have to take off work to come in and meet with someone. They basically acted like we were bothering them because they were busy and didnt really want to do business with us. When we finished our shopping and walked by the floral section the 2 ladies just looked at us as we walked by, I was very disappointed as I have done a lot of business at this Vons and have always had very friendly and helpful service. I will be getting my wedding flowers some place else.

I hate going to Walmart because their always busy. So I go to Vons. Problem is, ever since they closed the one on North Chester, the one on Coffee, even though their usually not too busy, they dont seem to care anymore. Half the time they dont check their items expiration date so I end up leaving things off my list because their expired and have to go to another store for them. And it seems like the baggers dont care anymore. They shove your stuff into as little amount of bags as possible. So my stuff is smashed and occasionally the bag drips before I get in the house. So I have reusable bags and 1 of them is a cold bag. Even though I have 5 big ones, they still put them into 2 and dont even put the cold stuff in the cold bag. Also shove bread and chips into 1 bag with cans and cold stuff so its smashed and gets moisture in it. The other thing that bugs me, is I start bagging my own the way I like, and they seem to get offended when they ask to do it for me and I politely say no its ok, I got it thank you. Their rude about it half the time and stomp off. Im to the point where I dont want to shop there anymore

Not only are the employees friendly and helpful, the produce guy Fredo is always smiling and offering suggestions for fruits and veggies, gives you a sample and makes you feel welcomed. One of the best things ever tho is the manager Pete, he went out of his way to help load a bbqinto my car, when it wouldnt quite fit, he saw the disappointed look on my daughters face bc this was to be a fathers day present. He then offered to deliver it for us! I almost cried. There are truly people who care and then those who care above all else and love their jobs. Thank you Pete!

Weve shopped at Vons for over 30 years. The grocery store on Coffee Road is wonderful.BUT ... the pharmacy for some reason has tragically deteriorated to the point that we have transferred our prescriptions to CVS... just a few doors south of Vons. Unfortunately ... I must recommend others do so as well.Although we have had several poor experiences dealing with this pharmacy ... here are two that are really discouraging!My wife has been charged nearly $100, every month for a prescription shes taken for years. When we switched to CVS ... she was charged $7. Vons had literally overcharged us thousands of dollars.Additionally ... They do not answer or return phone calls ... which have been necessary to confirm instructions and to get answers to questions we had on prescriptions. As embarrassing as it was ... we had to call another pharmacy for help. The pharmacist told us he often gets similar calls from Vons patients.These are simply two examples we have of the deplorable Service that has become chronic at Vons on Coffee Road. Im certain all stores are not this bad.If we were dealing with anything other than medical prescriptions ..... our life and health ... We would most likely just over-look these indiscretions. However... we are dealing with health and safety issues. This type service is simply not acceptable ... and perhaps illegal. Someone could get hurt.Save yourself from these issues by simply buying your groceries at Vons ... and get your prescriptions filled elsewhere.
