Always long lines, Vons, and almost every grocery store, want to save money by not hiring enough people and installing self check outs and have customers bag their own groceries. So, massive lines, a time suck for the customers. More profit for Vons, third world experience for the customers. And the prices are still too high.

There is no Customer Service in the deli or the meat department. You can ring bells forever no one will show up. Go upfront ask for some help in those departments still, no one shows up.

There is an older woman working as a cashier. She had gang tattoo on her fingers and was for no reason condescending and passive aggressive. While she was very nice with other customers she decided to be rude with me, and all of this happened in front of her manager. Another reason to never visit Kroger Brands Grocery Stores (Ralph’s and Vons)

Horrable custom service, never go Again. I went for shopping with my 2 kids, maybe she is a manager or cashier name is desiree (medium age tattoo on her hand ) i no want to explain whats going on but it’s very sad that my kids are suffered too. I know 1 comments cant make her change to be nice with customer, at list no mean to the baby and stop harassed mom front of their Kidz . Just NO want anybody suffered like me.

The staff is always very helpful. Though it is a smaller grocery store, it carries a lot of selection. My main complaint is that they have no Wi-Fi or reception, yet expect you to clip digital coupons, very frustrating

This is the closest grocery store to my apartment unfortunately, so it means that in a pinch, I have to shop here sometimes. I feel like all the other Vons were remodeled at some point in time and they just forgot this one existed. It feels very stuffy inside and the aisle layout doesn’t make much sense (I.e. the butter is on the other end of the store from the milk). The produce section is above average considering the rest of the store, but still pretty lackluster. The worst part of this store in my opinion is the lack of cashiers no matter what time of day I go. It seems like there are 10 workers in each aisle, but ALWAYS only two cashiers who move at a glacial pace. Overall, I try to shop elsewhere unless this is my last option, which means braving the traffic of West LA in order to get somewhere with a better grocery shopping experience.

Store employees seem to be under the influence of drugs. Most of the female cashiers I encountered have been fine. But the store employees working in the Produce department and the Deli department may not be working with full cognition. Some of their eyes look so red and couple of them display symptoms of severe anxiety. I didnt see anyone working at the Meat department (its always empty).One of the most interesting experiences has been with one store employee who -- when asked where Dates (a fiber rich dry fruit) was located -- failed to acknowledge that she just didnt know on how it even looked like or where it was located in the store. She asked me to google it and show her the pictures and said she needed to know the last name of this fruit. I didnt mind doing a quick research to show her the info she requested and further explaining more by giving the full name of this fruit and showing her the pictures. However, she still couldnt understand.Dates are usually sold under the simple name Dates...She ran around the store alleging she would ask someone and made me run around the store with her.Ultimately, she couldnt find it.When I finally found this product by myself and showed it to her -- she attempted to gaslight me by stating that I should have just said Dates instead of saying the full name (when in fact, she was the one who asked me for the full name of the fruit and made me google it for her)...Why not just say you dont know..when you dont know?....Theres no judgement in that.When you say you dont know, you can learn from there.The same store employee further asked me evading questions like Are you shopping for yourself? or Are you shopping for somebody else?...when I clearly and very patiently told her I was shopping for myself at the very beginning of the conversation.Besides this experience ----There are too many people shopping for others (personal shoppers) in the store. Most of these suspicious looking personal shoppers are invading the personal space of women in the store by walking very close to women they dont know -- and seem to have come to the store to deliberately stare at womens backs.This is very concerning.This place looks like a breeding ground for sexual assaults and batteries.

Theyre never that busy but there is always a line at the checkout... Its cheap and close to home. I havent tried the deli. I always find what I need and the prices are good.My first experience at this place was horrible and I did not come back for a year. Ive been back recently because they have my favorite beer. After waiting 16 minutes on the phone and going into loop after loop with the options menu trying to reach customer service, then having to pick another option of produce to get to speak to someone who said he would page customer service, then waiting even more as the phone rang numberous time, then getting disconnected, I am totally pissed and will hereafter look to another grocery chain to get my needs met. 16 minutes out of my life wasted on waiting for Vons to answer!

Have 3 times now purchased a 12 pack of beers/hard seltzers where full bottles or cans were missing or multiple had been removed and replaced with a cheaper version. Someone is tampering with their product and their manager blames the stockists. Will absolutely not be shopping here anymore. Cannot trust this store or its product. Sad because this used to be a lovely grocery.

Went there to get buy two Diet Coke 12 packs and get two free and was told unless I had the app on the phone that I couldnt get that deal that I couldnt just use my phone number as a preferred card holder or whatever they call it alone and I raised hell and I did get the discount but that is the most ridiculous thing Ive ever heard ever and I asked the woman what if I was 85 years old with a flip phone and didnt know what the hell an app even was? And her comment was you know thats true. I was so disgusted.

Great store, very friendly staff. Nice array of grocery items. Decent prices. Not the fanciest of stores, but Im there for groceries not an auxiliary experience, so this place works very well for me. I shop vegetarian/healthy and they had things for me there. Other shoppers were nice, friendly, parking lot felt safe even when I was there after dark.

I like this Vons, at least when they have enough clerks on duty. Good produce and deli, friendly staff. I dont shop in supermarkets nearly as much as I used to, but when I need basics, this is a solid choice. I especially like the service meat & seafood counter. Im shopping for myself only, and its nice not to have to buy a pound of ground beef, for example, when all I want is one burger. UPDATE: masks are optional but many customers still wear them. The cooked shrimp in the service fish department have been well priced recently. Supply chain issue still but fewer. For a single person who likes to cook real food, the service meat and fish counter is huge.

This is a nice Vons. They always have fresh produce, meat, vegetables. Their staff is friendly and helpful. They have grilled whole chicken for $5 on Friday and lots of other great bargains. I have never seen that something I was looking for was not available in this store.

Store is never stocked. Grabbed a bag of chicken wings priced at $9.99 but rang up for $15.99 at the self check out. Rang for customer service that would never come. Finally security sees my frustration and cones over to see if he could help...he leaves to investigate and never returns. Needless to say I didnt make that purchase

I wanted to update my review from 3 years ago. Previously, I had given the store one star because the lines to buy groceries were ridiculous. They never had enough staff. I live around the corner so I went to the store at different times and days. It didnt matter what time you went there were always lines. Recently they got self-checkout!!! Finally!! My shopping experience is a lot less stressful. Even with COVID happening, you can still get in and out fast through self-checkout.

Its your typical Vons, good selection, the store is clean, and seems to be mostly in stock, and the staff is friendly. Why only 3 stars? Everytime I have been in this store, the line moves slower than molasses. Even when there are only two people in front of you with less than 5 items each, you will be in line for close to 5 minutes. If you go without needing something quickly or off hours then you wont have any issues.

They get one star because of the employees ( mostly the baggers ) if you are a person of color they bag you groceries like they are throwing garbage away, they dont greet you, if you say hello or thank you they dont say anything back, they give you youre not wanted here look I dont want to say they are racist, but it sure is racist behavior at this Vons and if you are of color they will follow you around the store, I have witnessed many of times how they treat the White customers they are very friendly to them, go out of their way to speak, bag their groceries with respect of their items, but dont be a black person the treatment is completely opposite and this is coming from the hispanic employees, the white and black employees are always polite and courteous & I appreciate that.

The pros are thats its clean and down the street from me. The cons are that despite it being so convenient, the staff fail to emphasize the need to utilize the app for better pricing, deals reward/coupon tracking and weekly promotions. Without the app handy your final checkout is pretty steep, so much so I would recommend going where the Foods are Whole if you catch my drift.

Called corporate about issues with the store and filled customer experience claim.Update with operator system with low prices is a complete lie and false advertising. Von’s has increased there prices on liquor, meat, sugar, flower, eggs, bread, etc by 2.8%!Issue with the store Manager Marco not wearing a mask while calling customers on the floor is irresponsible and should be conducted in his office. The lines are ridiculous and cashiers are really slow. There are better alternatives such as Ralph’s and Food for Less.

Quite a few out of stock items. Sugar-free cough drops for example. Freezer items were out of stock too. The bean sprouts in the produce section only had one day left on the Use By date so I had to skip them. ( Not a Purchase By Date so no shelf life left.)The checker staff were, as usual, friendly and helpful. I was lucky this time as there were no lines.

Every time Ive gone hear the lines have been really slow. I dont know if its the registers or the cashiers but these lines seem to take a lot longer to get through than other stores. Not a very good variety in the produce section but the staff is friendly and very helpful.

I visited from out of town and visited your Vons grocery store on 5/9/19. I understood to bring my own bag for groceries. It was early afternoon. It was not crowded with customers. I place my bag in front of my groceries on the belt, it was pulled along with groceries following. I processed my buy on the key paid. I finished paying and got my receipt. I paused wondering if the checker would start bagging my groceries. A bagging person was not available at that moment. I figured out real fast I was expected to bag my groceries. As I am doing this he asked if I have it (meaning needing help?) I said I can manage. I saw no sign that customers are expected to bag their own groceries. I would assume your store prices to pay employees to follow through is factored in their salary including that of yhe cashiers. I have been coming to that store when in town for many years.I have to say I was highly disappointed for the first time. I am sure you have data that points out this individual. It would be greatly appreciated if you looked into this matter.FYI: I always do my part and wheel the grocery cart into the storage area located in your parking lot.Thank you.

Wow. All I can say is this was not a pleasant experience. Besides the decor looking like something out of 1970s Barstow, the selection here was sub par at best. All the vegetables had some kind of weird film or dirt on them, there were entire sections with nothing but empty shelves, and the prices were nearly double that of similar sized grocery chains in the area. Unfortunately this market happened to be on the way home, but I will certainly not be making that mistake again.

I was very disappointed with Vons yesterday. Some of the shelves where not stocked. I usually shop here but have been branching out to visit other stores and to tell you the truth Vons was not up to their competitors standards yesterday. The cashiers are very friendly people and go beyond to help but the produce had a lousy selection and was WAY overpriced and that was not for the organic food it was Unbelievably expensive. As for the produce person stocking he was know help at alI. So in conclusion I will probably be taking my business elsewhere. I just want to add I was a loyal shopper and I do really enjoy the VONS just for you offers they are very worthwhile.

I drove to this place, Vons, instead of just walking to Pavillions in Marina Del Rey, store #208 which is just a block & a half from my house to avoid the nasty management team they currently have now. Somehow they rotate teams every now & then. Unfortunately, this team is not as customer service-oriented, at least not like the previous teams. This one, Vons, is a legion better than Pavillion Marina Del Rey. To those who shop at Pavillions Marina, please always check your receipt, this store & or the cashier are not paying attention & ringing the items with the wrong code so the prices come out much more than the real price...shoppers beware!

At one time, a friendly store with a friendly staff.... Now, the lines are long and they have locked the bathrooms. If you have to go, you must first go to one of the cashiers and ask mother may I? before they will stop everything (in front of everyone) to find someone to escort (thats right. escort) you to the bathroom. This is like most Vons, if not a large one. Ive been going to it for 5 years, as its convenient. Has most of what other Vons have.Two big problems.. First any busy times it has huge lines. 5-7 pm for instance, it has lines to the point they are down the aisles.Also - a bigger problem - the freezer section they use for ice cream is *ALWAYS* broken / breaking.Has been for a few years. . I dont know why they dont bother fixing it. Dont buy ice cream there.. just dont. It will be full if ice crystals at best. Dont be fooled by them realizing the ice cream has gone off and selling it for $2.50 a pint (which they do every few weeks).

Clearly, the upper management has given up on this store. The turnover is really high and almost all of the employees seem burnt out or over their jobs.The whole ruse about 3s a crowd... is a lie!! The lines are almost always 6 or 7 people deep, especially during their busiest times! The checkers continually call for help and backup, but the managers stay in the back!!The Only reason why I still go there from time to time is because it is walking distance from my house!Do yourself a favor and go to another store!

Wonderful store!If you want certain products and conclude they do not carry it, inquire with the manager. You might find exactly what you were looking for on your next shopping visit. I expressed there were certain foods I missed from the east coast; and sure enough this Vons found them and stocked them. (Mrs. Ts pierogies in freezer section, general tsos chicken made at the deli, etc.)Friendly staff that remembers their regular customers.My only complaint is with the waiting times at checkout. There are often times when Ill be waiting in one of 3 long lines whilst 3-4 more registers sit there unused.

While the store is grocery and sells what you would expect it routinely smells like something died in the meat department. This is ongoing for months every time I come in. It never changes. This is annoying because 1. the smell permeates 1-2 isles over and 2. The meat deparment is right near the main entry so it makes for an overall gross shopping experience.

This Vons location is a little smaller and has fewer amenities than another location I frequent, but the staff is just as professional and the stores stock predictably reliable in supplying my needs. Its also convenient to a favorite frozen yogurt store, which is what lured me in. Great parking, easily accessible from either Centinelas north-bound lane or Washington Places west-bound lane. Use the Vons app or web site to get special discounts. Once youre signed up, your phone number entered in the checkout lane console can yield surprise savings.

I really like Vons. Although Im not a huge meat eater, their meat dept. is Very good and I love their sales/vons club and just4u. You can really save a lot. I even like their own label such as Safeway Select. Good quality and pricing on these items. Otherwise Vons prices can be a bit pricey. In fact, their store brad meatballs were highly rated; as in the top three. Trader Joes meatballs were also in the top three, though I prefer Vons store brand (Safeway Selelct).I must say the store would definitely benefit from a remodel or upgrade; self check out would help as well. With all of the gentrification/development going on in this neighborhood, they really need to step up.I have no issues with the staff with the exception of the deli personnel of late. I would understand if the the bad mood was occasional since everyone has bad days, but it seems to be anytime I go to the deli ($5 dollar Fridays) the same attitude is on display.

They have so many options as far as product brands. However, everything was so much more expensive. Living in the US I believe everyone should have decent housing and plenty of food at every meal (and other things too like health care). We cant afford the increasing rents or the cost of food. This is the place you stop on the way home if you dont feel like going out of the way. Its fine. Nothing inspiring though. I find the Pavillions in Villa Marina Marketplace to be tenfold better. As well, on certain days, the line to checkout can be frustrating here. Id love to see this whole little development get redone. Theres plenty of real estate here on what is becoming one of the busiest corridors in the area. Dont miss the opportunity to lead with a highest and best use development!

This store had the worst service! The employees are clearly miserable and hate their jobs. Its like pulling teeth to get anyone at the deli to serve you and when they do get around to it they are out of half of what youre looking for. This is a great place to shop its clean and the employees are very nice and helpful. The parking lot is huge with easy in and out. Just dont park under the big sign, the birds love it there.

My favorite Vons been going here for years. They have changed it up. There use to be a seating area outside of the entrance but its removed. I dont know why tho. They have a TV near the fresh seafood showing seafood recipes. They have more produces aswell.

This Vons should close and be replaced by a Ralph’s. It’s 6pm and it’s decently busy and only 2 registers are open. It’s either grossly understaffed and/or poorly managed. There is no self checkout. Buying a few groceries shouldn’t be this difficult.

The worst store on westside! Its in a crappy shopping mall that hasnt been remodeled since the sixties! Tacky, ugly, no self checkout, long lines. They spent Millions remodeling Pavilions but have done nothing for this particular Vons even though other Vons around Los Angeles have been newly built or remodeled. I just went to this grocery store tonight with my 2 years old son when i realized that an employee was just following me for some minutes, so i gently asked if there was something wrong and the reason for that, and he just told me im just making sure that you are not gonna get something inside your pocket what???? And i just told him that there wasnt no reason to that and went to talk to the mager because there are so cameras and i did nothing to deserve that treatment. The manager didnt spend his precious time listening to me and told he would talk to the guy and after a minute i looked back and they were both talking and laughing. I just felt so ofended and of course nobody goes to the grocery store expecting to be into a really unconfortable situation, they just should get a better and decent staff.

Disgusting. ...went to the deli for the in-store roast turkey ..after observing the deli person cutting roast beef she then went to cut my turkey without cleaning the blade on the meat slicer THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW!!! I adopted this Vons a bit over a year ago, my main store was always in Marina Del Rey, in the small mall there... but with a move this one became my go to Vons.Its very funny because yesterday I walked into that Vons Pavillion in the mall and they had remodelled it. I was pleasantly surprised, its design before lacked quite a few things... looks much better now, but this Vons on Centinilla is like a Bastard child, it never gets any attention from Vons. Its still a neighborhood market. I do like it quite a lot these days. The workers here are very different from some other stores. They know the neighborhood.But the store isnt pretty like upper class people demand. The little mall at this Vons has a Rite Aide and Ceasers Pizza and a few other things... its still in the 70s. Vons should buy this mall, place a new Vons on the one half and keep the old Vons open. Im wondering what Vons will do with this store in Mar Vista. Property isnt cheap here and wont go unnoticed forever...Mar Vista is special, but very few people know that yet. Business out here on the street is changing, but the culture is very slow. Its amazing how little people in business know about the street today. Amazing. Sitting on the barstool at work and hob knobing with the guys at the office is called something. Lazy.Anyway, that aside this Vons means quite a lot, so much Herstory here... Vons best not lose this place, that would really give Ralphs something to cheer for.
