Just came here to visit a friend at Coronado. Very surprised with the variety and good prices they have. Hands down to cashier Raquel, she was so helpful, friendly and for me as a Spanish talking guy she was wonderful!

I come here frequently for lunch and to get dinner items. This is the best place to get your mango habanero chicken. However sometimes they do leave feathers on it. I recently had a boar deli sandwich and oh my God if that wasnt the freshest meat and cheese I have ever had in my life. Just be aware not all Vons locations carry the Boars Head Deli

I have been going to this grocery location for the last 25 years. I have never met such unprofessionalism in my life. Please meet Allison below who is by far one of the worst people I have come across in my life. Completely unprofessional, rude, obnoxious, and just an ugly face for this business. I came in with my family who just won at bingo at The Coronado Shores, in which case they give you Coronado Dollars. I came in to make an honest purchase of some water and bananas and attempted to use this cash reward I received. The first thing out of this womans mouth was: These are fake, call the police! I thought she was joking but then started to get her other employees involved when I responded to please call the police and explained how we won the Coronado Dollars. They started whispering and made me feel like some sort of criminal. I hope nobody has this type of experience I had because I will definitely be calling there manager on this tomorrow. Such disrespect and ridiculousness. I hope they can find jobs or a place where they are happier people, these people are obviously miserable and give the business a bad face, bad name, and terrible customer experience!

Convenient location. Its kind of small but it still has a good variety of generic, common, and niche brands for a lot items. Friendly staff. Layout reminds me of the old Vons in Mission Hills. Its a nice, cozy neighbourhood feel.

Our Coronado Vons is on the small side but they still have a decent selection. Its our friendly, neighborhood store. Right now they are remodeling and planning on expanding. .into the building next door. We are finally going to have a big Vons! In the meantime, you can still shop there with quite a decent selection. 😉 7/22. Well, its now a much bigger Vons as they have also moved into the bldg next door. They have a deli, bakery and all the bells and whistles. 🎉 I promise to take pictures next time.

4 out of 5 stars | Went to this location around 9pm on a Monday night. It was mostly empty which was great with no lines. Prices are decent and inventory isnt bad either. Not the biggest selections of goods with some key omissions in the snack aisle. Overall a good grocery store with a clean environment. I would recommend the store to a friend.

Terrific selection of plant-based food! Largest of any store weve visited. It is well worth the drive to Coronado to stock up on fresh, chilled and frozen selections of vegan foods! Oh, it is a huge store so you can find just about anything else you need.

There arent many places to get groceries in Coronado. Small parking lot, usually crowded. The store is small, tightly packed with groceries and merchandise, busy with customers. The aisles are narrow, difficult to maneuver two carts passing down a row coming from opposite sides. That being said, theres not much that could change besides to stock less items, and already the selection is smaller than we hoped for. There are very little gluten free offerings, so if youre celiac or wheat allergic, dont get your hopes up. Pleasant employees.

Not a terrible selection for a small townish grocery store. The aisles are super cramped though and pushing a cart through with customers can be hard. Parking is pretty limited but expected for the area. Overall not bad, would shop at again.

RUDE. Poor customer service., and FRAUDULENT pricing. Whats marked on the tabs is not what youre charged. I was charged $5.00 more for an item! My fault for not checking the receipt before leaving. My friend wanted a turkey sandwich in the Deli but was directed to the pre-made sandwiches that were only roast beef she inquired if the Deli was closed? (3:30pm Sunday) was not answered just ignored where the other girl behind the counter apologized but was afraid of the other lady so she had to choose Cold chicken nuggets that she refused to heat up for her. Im guessing she just wasnt white enough to be treated respectfully. WHY, be in a customer service job when clearly you hate being bothered!

I usually go into a grocery store for the hot foods and I was happy to see that they had everything ready. Also I had to use the restroom but to get to that I had to go all the way around the store to the far back to get to it. You wind up ruining your clothes trying to get to that bathroom. The chicken piece that I requested was actually very well cooked and I trust them more than going to any Ralphs

I love this Vons.. They just expanded recently and have more product. The workers are very friendly and the variety is decent. Produce here is always good.. Look for the weekly specials to save money.. The wine dept is quite extensive.

I like this Vons a lot. The new renovations are great. The produce department looks amazing!! My only recommendation is that they take more care in the fried chicken department. I was in there at 5:00 today and the chicken was all dried up looking and they weren’t cooking any more fresh. I was told they were too busy. Last time I got a chicken breast even tho it looked dry and sure enough it was awful. 5:00 is dinner time folks please be on top of it. Your fried chicken is amazing when it’s fresh.

I go here once in awhile after I have taken my dogs to the beach here in Coronado. It is a small, intimate store with a funky floor plan! Today I was in the produce section and didnt see any bags of plain Russet potatoes. I flagged down a man named Frank and asked him if he had any in the back. He apoligized and let me know that the load was running late this am so it may not be stocked yet. He was soooooo nice and let me know that the potatoes are usually on the bottom of the loads but he would look to see if he could reach them and it was no problem. As I was waiting I continued shopping and noted that the organic mushrooms I wanted were also MIA. When Frank returned he had a big bag of potatoes and happily gave me one! I mentioned the mushrooms, he said he would have to go back and check again. I told him nevermind as he had already gone out of his way to help me once. He insisted that he look for me and within 3 minutes, he had the mushrooms out too! BIG SHOUT OUT TO FRANK! HE IS KIND, SELFLESS, AND REPRESENTS THE STORE VERY WELL! Nice, well kept vons. Currently in the middle of renovations, it’s looking good. Only challenge, they are lacking stock, making it very difficult for someone who is gluten free, to find anything on this tiny island. I’d usually give this vons a five star,But the lack in options has been super stressful. Customer service has been wonderful and you can tell they are trying to stay organized with the new renovations, but it’s definitely creating a challenge on the customer too.

My husband and I go there a lot and can appreciate how nice and helpful everyone usually is. I can also appreciate the management as I see they run a tight ship. There was one manager in particular though and I didnt catch his name as I was just trying to get away from him. He was working the self check out area and was being pretty bossy and rude to one the other bagger employees. I let it go because I had no idea what that employee may have done.. anyway my husband and I were trying to use the coin casher machine and we asked this employee where a manager was for help as the machine said to speak to a manager before using. He then pointed over to the older gentleman by the self check outs. Well long story short that manager was very rude and huffy with me when I asked him for help and told me he could have helped you with that! And pointed back at the employee. Well that employee did help me and the machine specifically says talk to a manager so I dont know why I or that employee got blamed for following rules 🙄🙄 Horrible management if that is how you treat your employees. That man was trying his best and was being treated like dirt under that managers shoes. Im highly disappointed and hope the employees start to get treated better and the customers. Thats also not my first encounter with employees being treated horribly in front of the customers and the customers getting the other bad end of the stick. Nice store though and nice products. Just dont ever ask a manager for help. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Ame free parking in back. Clean store, may feel smaller than youre used to. Its an old store building but has been updated as needed. It has a second room in back that nearly doubles the space. Had to hunt a bit for water but once I found the big back second room they had everything ypu would find in any Vons store.

Update: Store is in the midst of extensive construction and expansion. Theyve finally added public restrooms. Since everything has been moved and some aisles are blocked, the jurys still out on if there will be a significant improvement in selection. So far no improvement in employee helpfulness, which is seriously still lacking.Very small store and often crowded. They are very bad about not having sale items in stock. There is a limited selection, too, because the store is small and doesnt have all the departments other Vons have. Staff is often not helpful.

The employees at the seafood area are racist. If you are white person is fine but not Asian. When the food is on sale, you will be having a hard time to buy and they will say its out of stock. I dont believe it bc every friday when the items are on sale and supposed to have a lot in stock not just a few items and then out. I think they hide it somewhere, but they will give it to you if you are white.

Its a smaller Vons than what Im used to but its well stocked in all departments. The store is clean and well managed. It doesnt have a public restroom, which is the only negative thing. The store has a small town feel, which I found to be very appealing.

It’s a typical grocery store, but it works really well for the beach. You can come in Sandy from the shore and know that you’re not going to ruin their floors and no one‘s gonna look at you funny because you’re in your swimsuit. I found everything I needed here even though it’s a little bit smaller than my local Vons. Big selection of ready to go drinks and sandwiches.

While the prices could be better, its the best option on the island. The front retains a distinct modern look dating back to the 1960s but the interior is just like any new Vons across Southern California. Because its a Vons you can use coupons and rewards here as well as Pavilions, Albertsons, and Safeway stores across the country. So thats nice. Parking is also limited so walk or bike when possible.

However, if youre trying to enjoy Coronado on a tighter budget then shopping at Vons makes great sense. Park behind the store. Plenty of great selections and very friendly folks inside. I live in Imperial Beach but the store there is dirty and unorganized. They are not customer oriented so after 23 years of shopping there I recently started shopping Vons Coronado. The store is small but very clean. The staff are customer oriented. Much better experience then shopping in the store (Saturn) closest to Imperial Beach

This is one of our favorite grocery stores on the island. The wine selection is wonderful and the staff is super friendly. It gets crowded during the summer tourist season but going early in the morning takes the stress away. :)

This location is inside the North Island Naval Base and it caters for the family and defendants of the US Navy, Armed forces, And other’s. Basically it’s almost the same as Vons outside base but here they don’t charge sales tax these are just one of the privileges in joining the Military services. Of course some products you find in other Vons stores don’t have and some products they do have’s here. Keep in mind it defends on stores managers in choosing products that are not common and some are common. So if you want to join the service this is your opportunities and one of the privileges that you can get in joining the service and on top of that your family is of course will enjoy too. Job wise you have a secured job and at the same time you can go to continue your studies through government services offered. If you are young with some expertise that you want to pursue your course this is a great opportunity of a lifetime and retired young that you won’t regret, you are building your own future.

Old Vons on the 900 block of Orange Ave in the middle of town. Been open forever it seems like. Older style layout but has everything that you would expect in a modern Vons or Safeway. Modest selections of everything that you need and its only a few blocks to the beach. Ample parking in the back lot with street parking available. Store Manager Alexis is great as well. I used to work with him in Point Loma.

Being a visitor I was here for the first time. The design of the store and where things are located is unintuitive. I asked an employee for two basic items he tried to show me where they would be if they had them, said they did not. After I spend another 10 minutes looking I actually found them. Employees do not seem to know whether they have something or not or not looking closely enough to find out that they do. Its the only supermarket on the island so I think they rest on that.

Good place to shop for organic foods, groceries, fresh produce with excellent taste and life span. Food in the Deli is great and it has a huge Wine section . Fresh Flowers, plenty of meats. Parking lot is big and there is also street parking.

Theyre pretty good I like their Bakery but I dont steal anything from the store and theyre always making this announcement saying lyrics please monitor your store every time Im walking in there and I go to the bakery which is weird because I dont steal their donuts here I always pay for them and then their worker who is usually pretty nice pic of Ron Herre hes telling me how I dont need this in my hand I dont need to scan it Ill just enter the code and Im like why is to be a cashier to so I know that you dont have to scan fruits and vegetables that you enter in codes and I know what things you have to weigh and what things you dont say I didnt need him telling you that Im having an attitude with me because Im a customer or maybe I forgot just needs to like put it on the counter away from his register and thats good he doesnt even to say anything to me.

This Vons location exercises no Covid precautions . They do not limit the number of people in their stores at any given time. They do not sanitize carts. Typically have a shortage of cashiers on duty. It is not unusual for only two cashiers to be operating causing long checkout lines crowding the aisles where people are shopping. The morning cashiers like to chat with everyone which makes checking out take even longer. Other than arrows on the floor indicating the direction of an aisle (which everyone ignores) they have not made modifications to their store operation to ensure the safety of their customers and employees.

I go to vons several times per week. During the height of covid the store instituted a single line to check out which, although long lines, worked well. Customers knew where join the que and it moved quickly. This process ceased and shoppers, once again, have to find a line forming in numerous isles. I always hear of their surprise disgust over long lines, where to join the line, and which line goes to which check out register. This is this stupid! Although I have complained to every vons employee, they say management is not listening. My advice is GET OVER IT and reconstitute a single line check out system!

The checkout total is always astronomical relative to what i buy, and i always feel i am being taken advantage of and overcharged for the privilege of shopping on island. Terrible & incompetent cashiers. I was given a Gift Card for Vons Grocery stores and I wanted to pull the money out. Out of the three cashiers that where on shift NONE of them knew how to give me cash back from the gift card. Granted maybe they where new or had only a fee months experience, they all three had 10years+ working at Vons; AND one of them was a supervisor!! Its just plain sad to see how poorly trained these employees are.

It is a grocery store. This one gets bonus for extending their hours to midnight- much needed in Coronado, as so many things close early- but this location tends to be understaffed during summer months, and the staff who is working gets a little less than friendly with long lines. I try to keep it friendly and chat up the cashiers and smile, but it has got to be hard dealing with so many tourists. Management needs to hire some more seasonal help- or have staff work longer hours! Also- the produce section gets pretty ripe when it gets hot. Sometimes there is some rotten fruit that is not seen by staff and the flys get to it. :-/

My little girl had to use the restroom and apparently Coronado establishments including this large grocery store do not allow little children to use the restroom but would rather let them pee their pants and go next door to the CVS. Thank goodness the CVS did have a restroom, unfortunately it was too late.

Yikes. I have been here twice in the last week as it is the closest grocery shop on the island and both times they were middle-aged gentleman who were extremely rude bagging the groceries. One today throwing my eggs in the cart and cracking one. Saying nothing and walking off. Passive aggressive people like this make me extremely uncomfortable and I don’t know what to say in person so i just walked out. Please dont shop here.

I like this Vons location in Coronado because it is very convenient to come to. It is easy to save money buying prepared foods and groceries. It is about 3 blocks from the Hotel Del Coronado and beach. I would go back to this store anytime when I go to Coronado.

These guys never could make a better sandwich than Ralphs... But todays was a real doozy. The bread was too soft, bordering on soggy, the temperature was over-chilled... This is actually my 3rd disappointing experience in a San Diego area supermarket in a row. 1st was the G Street Ralphs (stale blueberry pop tarts...? Frosted?? In what universe but here!?), 2nd was the University Avenue Trader Joes (stale plain bagels), and today... Vons. Im gonna try Whole Foods. Ill let you know.

I know Coronado only has three grocery stores. PLEASE, for the love! Go to ANY other store!First of all, their care of refrigerated and frozen food is suspect. I learned years ago to stop buying my meat at Vons, because nearly every time I did, I would get sick the next day. Coincidence? I think not!Lines are nearly always long and there are often only 2 check stands open.But today was the real clincher. The checkout stand I went to crashed after my payment went through and I didnt get receipt. Ive learned to always get a receipt, because my Just For You deals and coupons dont always reflect on my receipt. So - I waited HALF AN HOUR for a receipt. Then the checker told me: It didnt go thru, I have to ring you up again.I was buying champagne for a party. I had 13 bottles of booze and they just threw them in bags - didnt offer a box or anything.And now that Im home? Yeah - you may have guessed. I was charged TWICE.Sorry VONS - I gave you chance and chance again. Im done.

I shopped at Vons while staying at Silver Strand state RV park in Coronado at 5000 Hwy 75 for the first time. I found lobster tails, sea scallops, large cooked shrimp, broccoli rabe, asparagus for our outdoor bbq. I recommend shopping at Vons.Use your Safeway Catd for membership savings.
