What an amazing experience once again! The selection of great products, bakery fresh french and dutch bread, bread rolls, donuts, pastries, muffins, cookies that melts in your mouth, cheese selection, deli with amazing warm food and salads, fresh fruit and so much more!Great deals on the application and most importantly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and kindhearted staff! It was great talking to you in person and to know how much you loved to work at Vons!It was my pleasure to visit at Vons Main Street Ventura too! Update: Wow. Since my first review, I have been able to buy a quart of whole milk every day. Thanks for being so responsive Vons! And both of the other items have been stocked. Im stoked. You guys rock!It is impossible to get a quart of milk here. Seriously. I visit this store everyday. Its also next to impossible to get even a pint of whole milk or 2% milk. Ive waited eight months for this store to finally restock my favorite soup and six months for them to restock my favorite crackers. Welcome to the SCARY VONS on the Westside.

My five rating is based on a blind friend I take to buy groceries here at Vons. I usually just drop him off and they take care of him by helping him go through the isles and buy what he needs. I’m so appreciative that they are able to do that for him, even when they are busy. Thank you Vons and staff for your kindness.

This is my regular go-to supermarket, the only one on the west side of Ventura. Until today, my experiences have been OK, not great. The perennial complaint is that things are difficult to find. Today, however, about half the sale items were not stocked, the shelves were bare. Very disappointing. If you have a choice, it looks like you can probably do better at Ralphs.

Vons a good store. The quality of their food and other merchandise is comparable to Safeway. Their prices are competitive and the employees are helpful and friendly.However, this specific Vons location leaves a little to be desired. Make sure that you lock your car doors and don’t leave valuables in your vehicle.

Customer service is great. Place could use a bit of a freshening up or remodel. The signs are only marked one side of the isle and made it slightly more difficult to find what I was looking for. The floor tiles are a bit torn up. But got what I needed and overall was just fine.

Vons/Safeway have very good deals if you use V4U, weekly ads/Fab 5(Vons.. Score4 @ Safeway). This Vons has good friendly staff/mngmnt.The Fab 5 at Vons is back to Score4, so you only have to buy 4 items in the Score4 display, center pages, to get the deals. Also be aware there are more Score4 items in the store that arent shown in the ad! Look for the Score4 shelf tags..(I do wish there was a way to view all Score4 items without having to search all the shelf tags!)

This store claims to be friendly but that isa false claim. Before checking out here wanted to use the bathroom and asked two employees for the code to unlock the door and they were so very rude. Will not recommend this store and will not be shopping here. Unpleasant store employees. No thanks.

I never knew how much lighting as weird as it sounds I never knew how much lighting actually matters when youre in a supermarket or a grocery store on this Vons is very well lit up I mean the aisles are super open wide and you just from the light you just see everything like everything everything stands out and you know everything is very expensive anywhere you go nowadays but I mean its just its just a little weird to like something so basic as lighting you know can I dont know make your shopping experience a little different and a lot better so I appreciate it that and yeah it was in and out and that was it great store always love Vons

Great employees, good service, great selection, well kept, location is not great - mostly because of people near or around it, nothing against the store though they have security and are very watchful including a police officer there once in a while.Just be aware of your surroundings, but youll be fine inside and outside.I recommend the surrounding community figure this out before its too late.

Not bad for a Vons closer to the highway. The homeless can be quite annoying, prefer cool peeps better. Like the women workers here are good, staff is helpful. Found my favorite food to eat and close to downtown. Its more pricey yet worth it. A crowded place is better and security is alright. Good job employees.

You need code for the bathroom. I get what is supposed to be the code from a cashier. It doesnt work. I go back, and a bagger gives me the correct code (I took a photo). At first, I thought I just switched numbers, but I was given a completely wrong number. When I went back, the woman giving me the number did not even look at me or speak to me.

Poor selection of products, long wait times due to limited check out staff at key times, lots of loitering by homeless folks, deli wait times are too long due to only one person cutting meats. My kids call it scary Vons. I make the drive to the E Thompson location. Will only use it if I need something simple and am in a hurry. Truly, the worst store I have ever visited. Managers do not seem to care much.

This vons discriminates against homeless individuals. Locking your bathrooms and forcing your guests to search for an attendant is incredibly inhuman. I asked 3 different employees for help with the bathrooms and nobody came back to unlock them or provided me with a code to unlock them myself. You are forcing confrontation between customers and employees for simple human needs like going to the bathroom. Please do better.

Really ckean, the carts were all neatly stacked out front and being wiped down. There were wipes when u enter the store. The store was clean and it was not too crowded. People were courteous and employees were courteous, professional and pleasant. All in all a great experience. Thank you Vons.

Not the cheapest grocery store in the area. Unfortunately its the most convenient full-on grocery store in this low-income area. It has everything you need and the workers are normally polite. I do have trouble finding workers throughout the store when Im struggling to find an item. But at the checkout, theyre always nice enough. Theres a Starbucks inside as well.

Although this facility was remodeled a few years ago, and is a part of a big chain, the service I get here is not too much different than the old time mom & pop stores long ago.The employees take an interest in their customers; the store is always clean; the managers are available on the floor often; and, for a smaller store, the variety of available items is generally quite good.Thanks all!

The Vons on Main Street has the best employees. I did not know that as a disabled person I could have a person to my self when shopping and also help me take my groceries to my car. That is awesome. I like this vons but would like it more if there wasn’t so many panhandlers in the parking lot. The O’reillys auto parts store is hiring but the homeless don’t want to hear it. Its getting scarier all the time. Google just asked me if anything has changed and update this post and all I can say is its getting worse now people are smoking crack in the parking lot and in front of the store. Some woman a couple weeks ago look like a zombie. Another update we call this one scary Vons and I wont even go after dark anymore.

Interesting store, not many large grocery stores to choose from in this area. Rif Raf lurking about in the aisles, apparently a prolonged issue according to staff, as they come from some of the homeless encampment nearby. Beware as you navigate the store.

I was having an open house; I ordered three platters via phone; I spoke with a Karen at 1:59pm the day before. I even asked would they b ready for p/u by 7pm 2morrow? Karen said yes. So I go in the next day, no trays, no one heard of me, no order was taken, was I sure I spoke to Karen, nothing. The Supervisor even called the two other stores, nothing. I only had 12 guests coming n I had no platters. I couldnt yell, I couldnt scream, I couldnt kill anyone, I still wouldnt have any platters. So I just changed up the menu and hoped for the best. A day later, the first day of a long road trip, I get a call. Was I still coming by to p/u my platters? Really? Thats how inefficient they were! What really killed me was when Pam, the Supervisor, asked Karen in Deli if she knew how to make platters, both Pam n myself heard Karen say she didnt know how to make platters, someone else makes them. Really? Like what kind of employees does Vons hire if u cant even make one platter much less take an order right? How illiterate can anyone b?

The employees r very nice & will do their best to go out of their way to help u. However, this Vons is in a.shopping. Center that seems to be overrun with homeless people some of them which use Vons as there place to walk around and eat or steal so employees have to spend a lot of time looking out for shoplifters its just under Fire Bowl. But this is not the stores fault. Once again the corporate has done that is not desirable is to cut back on the employees so they have extra long lines at crucial times so they need to do something about that otherwise Id give this a five-star

I lost my old Vons card years ago, so the cashier gave me a new one without me having to fill out a bunch of paperwork. I was able to purchase the store brand cold medicine for dollars less than the name brand. Its a nice clean store.

The staff at this store are fine but the neighborhood is pretty bad. Theres always some kind of criminal activity going on in the parking lot which is dirty because of the vagrants that take over in the evening. I have witnessed several fights and the security guard is constantly chasing away shoplifters. I would not go here after 10pm.

This particular Vons has a reputation for not being a safe place to shop at night. I will admit that the amount of homeless that are around the area can be intimidating. But its just something we all are used to and if you leave them alone they are inclined to do the same. If you interact with them you do it at your own risk. I feel that Vons takes the security of its shoppers seriously and its a good place to shop if you can afford some of their high prices.10/12. I just dont get it! A package of chicken legs at Vons is $9+. A package is chicken legs at WinCo are been $6 & $8. Coffee creamer. Now Vons has Lucerne and then their brand bottles are$4 and $5 or more. The largest Coffee Mate creamer at WinCo is $6.50. Eggs and butter dont get me started. Eggs $9 and butter $10 who can afford that. No wonder families who are on EBT cant afford to feed them.

Make sure you dont have to exchange an item thats over $20. They will treat you like you are trying scam them. I had to go through 2 lines for an exchange, had to stand there while 2 different people studied my reciept and commented on my big mistake of buying dog food instead of cat food (which was their fault, someone put dog food in the cat food spot), and the high amount of the purchase. I told the manager before ever getting in line I was making a return, why he had to act like it was such a big deal, and insult me, is beyond me. I repeatedly asked the checker what the problem was, and she refused to answer me.

You would think big chain grocery stores would give you a consistent experience, but this branch does not live up to what I have seen at other Safeway/Vons stores.The store always feels a little dirty, though that may be due to the poorly pieced together patchwork floor. The selection is more limited than larger stores, particularly when it comes to Kosher options.The worst part is the constant long lines. They could add a self check-out to alleviate the slow moving lines, but they have not.I find the store fine for a quick item or two in a hurry, but when I need to do a big grocery run, I happily drive right past this Vons on the way to Ralphs on the other side of town.

The homeless have overrun this shopping center for years. The guy in a camper with the motorcycle in it has been there for years. Theft is rampant in the parking lot even with multiple security guards on duty. Incidents in the store and in the lot are common. Homeless asking for handouts is common.Not the vons fault but be aware. The situation has not gotten better.

Its a smaller Vons than I am accustomed to, but I went in to utilize Wells Fargo banking, which has a branch inside the store. Also, they have a Starbucks inside as well. Just dont leave your car unlocked because there is a lot of homeless people trailing in and around the store.

I moved to the Ave. 5yrs ago, and started shopping at Vons on Main st. From the first day the Girls and Guys at the check out stands became my friend..The Older sweet as pie Lady who helps on the floor and Bags is always so very helpful and, if she cant help me she will get someone who can. The homeless situation has improved by 98%. And, if you feel uncomfortable going too your car late at night the very nice Security guard will watch you get too your car safety.The bathrooms yes, could be better but, someone cant be in there 24/7...Over all this Vons make me fell at home. From the Mangers and down the line of people who work there..

Not the best location in Ventura. The homeless loitering is almost as bad as the Ralphs on Saviers in Oxnard. It also is nowhere near the same set up as most Vons stores so it is really hard to find anything. It is worth the drive to go to the location on Thompson.

Vons @ Victoria & Telephone Road - Horrifying! Almost none of the customers had worn a mask. If they wont wear a mask, you know they didnt wear gloves either. The WORST THING I saw was a couple in their 20s or at the most 30, no mask or gloves, carrying a brand new BABY into the store to shop. This was 2 weeks ago and I pray that the newborn infant is alright. Go to the Vons at Victoria & Telegraph. Also, the lady that was posted at the shopping carts outside was too busy gossiping with a friend to clean the carts and just ignored them. What is the matter with this store?

I just had the worst experience at this Vons. Long story short, after hearing of how unsanitary the deli is with raw chicken contamination I wanted a wrap (not the same spot with unsafe food). They not only ran out of tortillas but also the bread. I waited 25 minutes and still not satisfied. Management is horrible and needless to say I wont be returning.

Vons has neither the selection, prices, or customer service of other grocery stores. What it does have is a good location and a monopoly in Ventura. It has gotten better over the last year, but its still surrounded by meth heads and overpriced versus almost every other grocery store. The worst aspect is the security. Most people dont feel safe in the Vons parking lot after dark, which is pretty abhorrent for a pretty beach town. The police really dont help either.

The management of that store needs to educate themselves about California state law they do not provide handicap shopping carts in their store and California state law requires that you do provide handicap shopping cards for their customers and not doing so they are opening themselves for a lawsuit when I requested one I was told by store staff that that store has not had handicap carts for a very long time and are unaware of what the manager is doing to rectify the problem advised me to call Management in the morning and issue a complaint and make them aware of the California Disabilities Act law

Horrible. Traveling cross country on a bike tour I stopped in to get some dinner and some cash. Clerk didnt know how to operate cashback. Put my purchases out in my bicycle trailer and returned to buy an unneeded item to get cash. Meanwhile store manager assumed I stole my first purchases and REMOVED THEM FROM MY VEHICLE. Manger refused to admit he was wrong even after reviewing my receipt. I had to come to him to regain control of my purchased items. Am discussing further actions with Vons corporate management. Offensive. All of Ventura is like this. Dont bother.

Its a nice large store. You can almost always find what youre looking for. The quality of the deli at the borchard location is much nicer with more options. Often the pre-made sandwiches on main streets are smaller with less attention to detail when prepared then the borchard site. The staff at the West Main Street site are very nice and helpful. And there is a Wells Fargo located inside

Typical Vons. Although this is one of the cleaner ones Ive been to. They have a wide variety of goods normally found at a grocery store. There is a Starbucks inside. This Vons also takes E.B.T cards & Starbucks does as well. There is always staff around to help if needed.

EVERYTIME I go to this Vons, I am harassed by Transient drug addicts asking for money, cigarettes, Rides, and countless other requests. The customer service is terrible, the employess are rude, and expect tips for helping with groceries, they never answer the phones, EVER! Id rather drive further to a different Vons and pay extra for groceries, than be subjected to this ever again!

Do not come to this location on bicycle, especially if you plan to ride the local trails. The homeless population, or other malcontents will run through your bicycle and steal your stuff.Shop somewhere else instead.
