I ordered a cake from here. John (the guy making the cake) made sure to call me with ample time about changes to my cake. In the end the cake was delicious, the decoration was on point and the price was even better.

There used to be a girl behind the fried chicken counter who would glare at me and give me the driest pieces of fried chicken. Also a female checker once dropped one of my strawberries on the floor and put it back in the container, saying, Well, youre going to wash them anyway. Yuck. On the other hand, a nice young man in the produce section let me exchange a bag of potatoes that had sprouted eyes. I started to say something but he quickly apologized and said, No, I should have caught that.

As expensive as this store is, you figured they can afford to hire more cashier, only 2 cashiers on a busy Saturday, terrible customer service 👎👎...I like to add that on 06/23/2024 at approximately 7:30 p.m. DEVIN, the cashier made some very racist remarks, and he said he wonders if that little Hispanic boy had stollen the toy target cart the the kid was pushing in the store, I told DEVIN that not everyone steals, he made a face like yeah right and said that in hes eyes, everyone is a thief, avoid this place and fire DEVIN from vons immediately👎👎👎

Im shocked this place isnt called Longs, cause these wait times are terribly long. This has to be the last store on the planet without an automated check out. The CVS right next to this place that closed - they had automated checkouts. The owners of this Vons should have bought those up!Ive lived across the street from this place for over 5 years. On any given occasion ive come here, its been a last minute decision that I always regret. I think ive seen at most 10 people working this entire store at one time. Need something from the pharmacy after 6pm? Good luck. Need to check out with less than 10 items in a hurry? Get in line, bud.This location is so physically big theres two doors, but dont ya know it - one of em is permanently closed. One foot in the grave if you ask me. Just close the other door permanently and end this tragedy

Sorry to say this store is a very last resort for our neighborhood. Most employees have a lousy attitude if you can find them. Management non-existent. Store needs to be deep cleaned. Parking lot filthy. Always check the expiration dates. Unacceptable service except for the terrific pharmacy staff!which is beyond reproach.

I have a love/hate relationship with Vons. I love that its close to home and where I run errands. I hate the quality, selection, and prices of most of my usual items of purchase. This moldy Ricotta takes the cake. Ill go out of my way to shop elsewhere now. I made the mistake of tossing my receipt to do an exchange. Beware of dairy at this location. Ive put milk and creamers back on the shelf because they werent cold to touch.

They definitely need more employees at this vons, I went to the deli yesterday to buy baked chicken and there was only one employee she was helping this lady make a sandwich for over 20 minutes. By this time it was 3 of us waiting to be help. Then I go to pay and theres only 2 registers open. With long lines, this was around 3pm. All the customers were getting annoyed because we waited at least 25 minutes in line. They need to start hiring more people.

Vons was not so great, had security worker smoking close to the entrance door, store is outdated and it smelled bad, customer service is good. Parking is dark, teenagers around the parking lot in their cars, homeless around the area, not an inviting place.

I enjoy going to this Vons location since its near Aldis and Marshalls. They have a great selection for ready-made lunches, and theres a Starbucks inside too, which I go to first. Now that things have improved, they have tables again, so you can sit for a while.

This store needs to just close already, and Fix your damn freezers. It’s not safe to sell stuff that has been thawed and refrozen. Ice crystals on frozen foods and strange texture in the ice cream. It’s not cheap to live in Bixby Knolls - Why do we have the worst grocery store in the area here?

There always is a line and slow at the cash register. There is no DIY cash register. Produce is average. Its pricey for a supermarket. It has Starbucks. There is never a customer service person at the customer service desk. Plenty of parking.

If you want to overpay for things (up to $2 more compared to Walmart for certain items, such as Graham crackers and Vaseline lotion) and wait in long lines (they dont have self-service registers), then come here.They do have mini-diet 7up cans, which cant be found at other supermarkets, though.I saw a 2018 calendar here for about $12 and I bought the SAME one at Walmart for $4.75.Bananas are a lot cheaper across the street at Aldi.

For the love of god, get more checkers or get self-checkout. The lines are consistently 6 people deep every time I come in. Either communication needs to be better between staff when lines get long so someone can come step in and help, or staffing scheduling needs an adjustment.Please, for everyone’s happiness, make some adjustments.

Expensive. Long lines. Many things are locked up so you have to wait for a manager. They no longer carry staple items that they used to. Cant even find greens bagged without kale. Everything is organic in the produce. Takes longer to check out than to shop. This used to be my go-to store but not in awhile, stopped to pick some things up quick. Should have driven further to my usual store, would have taken as long but would have cost less, even with the price of gas thrown in.

N store to purchase non meat products which I found. I wanted a watermelon as well. At the checkout the melon rang as $7.99 🤑 Of course I had major concerns. The Clerk told me they had seedless melons on sale for $1.99 each, which sounded like a winner to me. It was delicious

It was great. I liked going there. It was one of the best tores Ive gone to in some time. The workers there were the most helpful offered me assistance twice and Id had only beed there for 25 minutes. I dont stay in the neighborhood but I dont stay more than half an hour away, so Ill be going there again soon. And will be my go to store.

The Vons is larger than the location by me and seems to have a lot of things mislabeled or in the wrong areas which sometimes become annoying when checking out. Another one is the lack of cashiers as they only keep 2 open when there is about 4 in regular and 7 in express. If youre impatient I would avoid this place. Being honest.

Always nice and clean, not as busy as Walmart which is a plus but always overpriced. I come for the sales only. One downside is the lines.. theres only ever one or two registers open at a time and the two lines they created get super long, they should have more employees (or maybe even a manager steps up and does something below theyre pay grade) to jump on registers when lines get long.. it would definitely make it a 4-5 star experience.

This was my first time to shop at this Vons in Long Beach on Atlantic Avenue. We just moved into this area 2 weeks ago. I unfortunately have to use the electronic scooter shopping cart due to my injuries and medical problems. And I was shopping alone.All 7 employees I came into contact were very kind and helpful. Even though I was in so much pain they made my shopping experience a good one. Also, there were a few happy customers who helped me by stepping aside and reaching items too high for me to get to. Obviously, they love shopping here too. Thank you all. This Vons is awesome. Went to Pharmacy to pick up new prescription. Have never been to this pharmacy before. Pulled my ID, Insurance card, etc. Viola she says amount and puts it on the counter. They worked directly with my Dr. On all my information and had it all done. Im impressed. Pharmacist was super nice also. Pharmacy and store clearly marked social distancing on the floor. Signage outside store clearly marked about face coverings.

I was in a hurry to get to work and the guy behind the sandwich counter was ignoring me. I was about to leave after 5 minutes but he said Ill be a minute when the other worker started helping someone who had just walked up. I ordered my sandwich, a posted sandwich, he then asked me what I wanted on my sandwich and I said the way its listed on the board ...he did not know the sandwiches 🥪 and then made it without the fresh mozzarella. I had him add it then had to leave to continue shopping. The sandwich was opened at work it was made ends of bread and all slopped together. The paper was torn not cut just very gross. I dont usually go to this Vons and just wont next time.

I have been to this store a few times and it is always a major disappointment! I would avoid this store at all costs. Never have the items advertised on sale. Store is dirty, run down, and very outdated! I feel bad for the employees who have to work at this depressing place every day. VONS you could do so much better. I have tried and tried to like this Vons...but every time I go in something different happens. Today lines were so long that it took me 10 minutes to buy 1 item. Several customers were asking for another lane to be opened. The response we got was I cant do that. They called someone up...to switch someone off the register. I have worked retail several years, so I understand it gets busy, but the customer service is just lacking. No since of urgency to help the customers. No...sorry were are short of staff. Last time every bottle of soda was sticky. I finally found someone and asked if there was some, any where else that wasnt sticky. I was told no, but I could just rinse them off when I got home. I left.

Great store, but....Dont bring a bike..... Theres no rack to lock it up. When asked about this; an employee said that their manager says that its the property owners responsibility to provide them in front of the store. Thats a safe answer. I can walk around this whole store and run into about 3 people but get to the checkout lines and they have 2 lines open with 15 people in each line. First of all, whered the people come from because the whole store was empty and second, wheres the backup relief? Im really not trying to wait 15 minutes for a couple of items.

I tried to do order online curbside pickup... 20 mintues of calling their number at the pickup stall with nobody picking up, then I go inside to talk to someone, they say wait by the front door and someone will come help me... 10 mintues later after nobody shows up I just grab what I was going to buy and go through the checkout line (exactly what I was trying to avoid by ordering online). Finally the system says I cant cancel the order because its already fulfilled. Normally its a pain to deal with the long lines and one cashier open at any given time, but its reassuring to see that they dont do anything right.

I feel sorry for the employees here. Theres often times when they are a bit short staffed and have long lines. Customers here dont seem to care and feel comfortable enough to speak to the employees so rudely which accomplishes nothing. No matter how busy or backed up they may be the staff here are always polite with me which is why I have no issue waiting in line to make a purchase. Sometimes I hear people complain that there is always a line so I dont understand why they dont just take their business elsewhere instead of talking to employees who have no control over staffing like they are less than. Its 2018 for crying out loud have a little patience and decency towards others.

The shopping carts are never brought up from the parking lot, stock is often low on things I want, the store is dirty, the checkers are slow.And tonight, for the first time shoping in Vons for over 30 years, (except in the height of COVID) the checker just stood there and did not bag my groceries. I remember when Vons opened. It was a huge beautiful store. It was a million dollar success and at that time Vons promoted double coupons. I was able to save money. I am a shopper and I want quality and more bang for my buck. Vons no longer has double coupons. I shop there only if theres a good sale. The prices are too high for me. There is always a long line and not enough cashiers open and they are so slow. Pick up the pace Vons.

This is my favorite Vons location. The hot deli staff are not great people though. The bakery is always fresh and well stocked. The lines are terribly long EVERYTIME I go in it’s really ridiculous. They always have juuust enough staff to get through the day. Lol its kinda funny thinking about it after reading some of the other reviews. I still think four stars is a fair rating.

I bought a sushi roll for my wife, who is a strict vegetarian: the roll was labeled vegetarian, and both of us read the ingredients list, but it turns out the roll was mislabeled, and we discovered after she had eaten part of it that it contained shrimp. We understand that accidents happen, but we are both very upset, and shellfish allergies are common enough that this is a serious mistake.

This is my closest grocery store so I tend to shop here for convenience. Recently theyve taken the entire soap/shampoo/vitamins/razors section and locked them up inside aisle-long display cases you have to call an employee to open for you. I understand there are a lot more homeless people in the area than in years past and shoplifting is probably going up as a result, but I dont like the feeling of going shopping in a prison commissary.

This store does not rotate stock regularly. I often find expired items on the shelves. They have 1 or 2 friendly cashiers (Shemekas great) but the rest are cold and unfriendly. Their prices are crazy high as well. I miss the Stater Bros on Lakewood/Artesia. They had very friendly employees, a better selection of meats and better prices.

I went to their deli on Friday. Even though it was the lunch hour, there was only one deli worker on duty. The bakery clerk came over to help with the crowd and she said I couldnt pay there because they were short staffed. I had to get in line at one of the regular registers. Vons has higher prices than most of their competition as we all know. This store however, is very nice inside and out.Inside they have a full deli and bakery (the cookies and pastries are great), and pharmacy.It also features an indoor Starbucks and a Wells Fargo Bank.The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. My friend doesnt like the current manager, but I havent met him yet.Very large store, so bring energy and comfortable shoes.

Orginally placed online order on 4/13 and went to pickup phone order as confirmed scheduled time on 4/15 between 3pm and 8pm.Arrived at Vons around 435pm and was told system was having problems and my order wasn’t filled and check online later for status. I checked later for status update later in the evening and again this morning still no update so when I called this morning was told orders were lost due to system crashing and I will have to redo my order. I asked what is guaranteed it will get filled in another 2 days. She said the website is over crowded causing it to crash. Don’t advertise to use the website to have groceries delivered or picked up at curb if you can’t follow through.

Better pricing than Ralphs and clubcard specials can save you quite a bit on everything. Usually pretty good fresh seafood and meat selection. Online account makes saving coupons and shopping list to your club card easy. Delivery is accurate and fast and many stores have been remodeled. Most items are in stock with a fair variety of choices.

I like the store at this location as there is a panda Express inside as well as a Starbucks. Quality of products and prices are very competitive but there is a noticeable lack of employees on the floor and you literally have to hunt someone down for help.Cashiers are a bit slow and not attentive but I guess management is ok with it. Havent been to this Vons in about a month but I was in the area. Got my groceries and like always go to self checkout. Nobody in the area, push the cart to the 1st one. Start scanning and my bag of apples broke and it set off the weight and it requested help. Lady comes over and tells me its 25 items. I had maybe 40 in my cart. I apologize and move to to the next stand. Unaware it was different. Loaded up my groceries that I already scanned and proceeded to start over. She then tells me its the whole self checkout is now 25 or fewer. Oh well...ok? Im not big on additional people having to touch my items, esp in Covid. So with no one else in Self check out, not sure what the big deal was...but she was adamant...so I grabbed my bags and left. Wont be returning. Makes no sense. People that work here are hit and miss. Need to watch baggers because they are careless. I bring a special bag for cold or frozen items and the baggers never read the giant letters on the bag spelling out the bag is for cold or frozen items. Instead, they put my breakfast cereal in the bag. Deli and bakery are probably the worst of the Vons in the area. Check the expiration dates of everything you buy here. Also, if it is a $5 Friday special theres a good chance its not available, except fried chicken.

This Von;s has no working soup bar. Went in last Sunday and was told the heating aparatus was broken. Today, Sunday again, I stopped by and found the soup containers caked over with what appeared to be old dried up soup residue. Disgusting! The staff replied that no soup was being served today. A bunch of IDIOTS. Its just not economical for me as a customer to purchase bags for my groceries every time I go shopping, so I bring my own Smart Cart. I entered the store today and immediately look for my favorite checkout girl at the register but I see an Aunt Esther lookalike instead. Little Ms muffet who is standing post at security decides to run over to Aunt Esther as soon as she sees me. Now, I see Esther in the produce section and ask if she is now on theft prevention alert. She says No, thats too dangerous. Now, Im uncertain if theft prevention and security are the same thing, for theft prevention are individuals disguised as customers who point out the suspected thieves to security, who in turn would close all exits, notify and wait for the police. To satisfy everyones curiousity, I put my smart Cart on the belt for their inspection. Aunt Esther then commented to the checkout girl that I asked her if she was part of security. I interjected and said No, I asked if you were part of Theft Prevention. For security advised her to assume the position. Never argue with someone who has the IQ of a bruised, seedless grape.

I usually have a good experience shopping at this vons excpet for today, it was one of the worst. I went shopping with my cousins to buy drinks and snacks and we noticed we were being followed by the security guard the whole time we were shopping, to the point it felt uncomfortable shopping. When we paid he was watching us the whole time. Not only that the cashier (named Agnes) was on her phone throughout the whole transaction and she did not give my cousin her change, so when we noticed and we went back in to get our change. We were met with confrontation by the cashier who helped us the security guard and another cashier.
