I bought a chicken salad on my lunch and as I was finishing it up I see a mosquito or a fly in here. Absolutely disgusted. God knows if there were more in there. I probably ate them! You guys should talk to ur supplier and make sure these food items are up to standard. It was my first time purchasing it too. I’m not coming back.

The store is very conveniently placed. The store is always very clean and the shelves organized. There have been a few times where some of the shelves seemed bare, but overall theyre almost always stocked and organized. The produce always smells fresh and very neatly displayed. The floral department is very organized and the flower are beautiful, but a bit over-priced. Its very easy to get around the store. The employees dont seem too enthusiastic each time we go in, but they are also never rude, which is appreciated. They are also very helpful when asked. Theres a Starbucks in the store, which is nice. Parking is never too packed, and the lines always move at a decent speed. Not the best place to shop for price, but very great for cleanliness, organization, and helpful employees.

Their customer service is terrible. The black cashier guy and the lady at customer service not only cheatting on customer but also very mean and no manner at all. First, I thought the cashier forgot to gave me $5 on my digital promo coupon. But he did it on purpose. He scanned my coupon and did not give me my discount. He said no and told me go to customer services.I told him he already took the coupon. He refused to correct his mistake. So I had to go to customer service and thought they will correct their mistakes. No way. The lady at customer service is terrible. She made me and two others waiting for hours without saying sorry. She did not care and did not want to help either. She knows that once the casheir scan the coupon it is not show in my phone. Therefore, She told me there is no coupon show in my phone, so she cannot do anthing. What is dishonest and mean customer service at Vons. Dont want to go back.

Store is nice and clean. Their flower arrangements don’t last long at all. I’ve gotten 2 $60 flower arrangements within a week and a half and they both don’t seem to make it past the 3rd day. Very disappointing!

This review is for the Vons on Stockdale in Bakersfield CA. Almost every time I shop here they try to force me to use self check out and a lot of the time they have no live checkers. Your store is not very senior friendly and a lot of seniors dont like waiting on them selves because it can be confusing to a older person. So Vons please think about us seniors or we will stop thinking of you, AND YOU WILL MISS US!!!!

They have the most beautiful floral arrangements here for Mothers Day. They are a bit to pricey for me but if I could I would. Produce always looks pretty and fresh. It was very easy to get some one to help me (Im in a wheelchair). Very friendly employees.

Vons is a good standard for shopping. This Vons is not as large as many are but it is well stocked and maintained. I have never seen it dirty or disorganized. even after Christmas. As a teacher I like to buy my donuts here when I want to spoil my students for being good. They have a good selection and of donuts and they always look fresh. I also come here from time to time looking for good deals on meat. My wife often comes here on her coupon runs as well. I am very pleased with this Vons location.

My family and I call on Linda for ALL of our floral needs - personally and for our business and Linda never ceases to amaze! My birthday and anniversary are in the same week and generally my husband presents me with beautiful flowers by Linda for each but this year Linda created a spectacular masterpiece for both occasions in one and it took my breath away! Mr. Crabtree, who attended me, decided to give me a lecture about how my out-of-state license wont always be accepted due to a policy. Never in any state that Ive visited besides my home state, have I been told this. Its ridiculous to even ask your customers not to present their IDs from another state just because you arent educated enough in the licenses or identifications from other states. The world doesnt revolve around California, sorry. I would never come back to this location again.

Be aware that they have expired products on their shelves, and not for a few days, for a few months! I went on March 13th 2020, and they had Almond butter expired since December 20, 2019. Their prices are high for what they have, $13 dollars for an expired almond butter? No way, better go to other stores. It is not safe to have expired items for that long. That means how much care and effort they put at their job, whoevers make the decision to keep those items on the shelves for that long should have consequences. It is putting peoples health in danger.

Today I experienced a Vons associate who changed my perception of the last review I had made. I’ve come here since my last review and have had good experiences but today was especially pleasant. Sara in the floral department was so nice and helpful. Not only did she take time to create a beautiful arrangement out of the flowers I picked out she took the time and effort to make sure it was perfect and just how I wanted. The time and effort as well as the attention to detail is something I’ve yet to experience here before. I’m very happy with my purchase and the customer service that she provided. I’ll definitely look forward to going back in hopes she’s there to assist me again with my next floral purchase. Thanks Sara you turned a 1 star review into a 5 star.

Had great experiences with all cashiers. But there is one gentleman I typically see while late night shopping. I usually shop very early or very late to avoid the crowds. Im not sure his name but hes always polite and makes funny, G-rated jokes that highlight my night when Im exhausted and walking in like zombie. His good-natured, cheery attitude just deserves to be rewarded. He really made me smile and laugh when I was running on fumes, lack of sleep and wanted the comfort of my bed. Please give him a raise vons! Not sure his name but was the only cashier on register 7 on Tuesday 10/10 after 10pm!

1 checker and 20 people in line. This is pretty common which is sad especially for the prices being charged. 8.99 for a 3 oz bottle of pink salt. How come I can buy a 12 oz bottle for 3 dollara at another grocer. Its the unions. See attached photo. I found some of what I wanted but shelves are still lacking. Will need to look for another store.

The older lady with grey slick bun is very rude, she literally argued with my 13 year old sister over a 10¢ bag… really? So when they were leaving without a bag she was assuming they were stealing because SHE didn’t see them pay, when they were at a whole different register where they paid for it. All she said to them was a “mhmm” when she asked if they paid for it. When they literally had a whole receipt, we went back to show her and she switched her story around making it about the 10¢ bag. If you don’t have proof of someone stealing then don’t open your mouth.

I can never adjust to call it Vons instead of Safeway :) basically its the same thing as Safeway, probably even the same company with different names. Because it sure looks exactly the same as Safeways in north Cali. Good store, good people work here, fresh products, you can find anything there! Deli is good. There was a Starbucks inside as well :) and i love it when I can kills 2 birds with one shot and get me some coffee when Im shopping for boring groceries :) 5 stars for being clean and good people working there!

Cashier Charisse refused to let me purchase alcohol because I had a child with me. Refused to even look at my ID and when I asked her since when is that the policy because I shop here often and have never had a problem when bringing a child with me she said I guess today just isnt your lucky day. I can check whoever ID I want to. Honestly they way she said it was very rude.

Best Vons in town!! We went here to order two sheet cakes after Sam’s Club left us high and dry the DAY BEFORE our wedding. We told them our dilemma and they were incredibly understanding and wanted to help us. They took our order and had the cakes ready the next day before the wedding. Our wedding guest absolutely loved the cake, and they saved our day! I wish I could remember the staff working that day, but the bakery staff is amazing and forever grateful to them!!

I always love coming here and the produce as usually always decent and fresh. However the prices hurt my pocket. But I like shopping in a low stress environment and the have so much more variety than the smaller grocery stores, and they have a Starbucks. So two birds with one stone. Their deli meats are really good and the prices are usually reasonable. All in all staff is always friendly.

I had to order a chocolate champagne cake. You usually do not see them in the bakeries. I went to Vons in Stockdale hwy. and asked if they could make one. They delivered and it was delicious. It had the dark and white chocolate curls and all. The only reason I gave four stars is because the cake I ordered was about an inch off of what they showed the size would be. Thats a significant difference. I do still recommend Vons Bakery on Stockdale Hwy. Great and fresh.

This is a good store. Generally clean, well located, friendly staff. What cost them two stars is the whole Vons club thing. I think its silly that I have to enter some phone number that I havent had in years. I translate this as...Would you like to pay our unnecessary mark up, or would you prefer the good price? I like this Vons. They have a amazing selection of ice cream, 🍺 beer and wines. Like most Vons do. As a visitor to this Vons because when Id visit it wasnt my neighborhood grocery I didnt mind not always getting a friendly smile. Or getting helped when I clearly needed it. Or when I even asked for it. Now as a person whos recently moved very close to this Vons. Its my neighborhood grocery store Id wish it showed me the friendly service Ive seen they can do to other customers. Now mind you, I did visit at 8am. They might still need there coffee break. And Im still going to go into this store. Its convenient for me. But now if it keeps happening Im going to mentally prepare myself for a quick interaction.

I shop at this location often and dont have many complaints about it. The aisles are normally full of sale items, its clean, the employees are always talkative and helpful, and the meat department has a good selection of meats. My biggest complaint is during busy hours there doesnt seem to be enough cashiers to handle the customers and the lines can get long. If the store installed self check out lanes it would help ease some of the congestion.

She is very rude at times. I can definitely tell when she is in a bad mood. I usually try to avoid her by waiting in a longer line so I don’t have to deal with that bad energy.

The employees at the checkstands were talking amongst themselves right over me about non-work related issues which is a major pet-peeve of mine. The woman at the deli was fairly rude as was the employee stocking the meat department. Just not impressed. Will probably not go back to this location.

I hvnt been to Vons in a few years. Dont hv them up North above Sacramento. I enjoy there plant and flower dept. very much. When the Alstamerias r on sale my girlfriend buys 2 batches. When I got here to Bakersfield she had some from 2 weeks before. They were still pretty.It was very cold in this store. I was bundled, and still cold. It was cold outside also. Vons has both a great selection of food, as well as good quality. The store is always clean and well stocked whether you visit day or night, weekday or weekend. The staff are always very friendly and offer to help you out to your car. Some of the food can be overpriced, so this definitely isnt a spot to make a large grocery trip. But for the short trips, Vons is my choice!

10/30/20 8:30pm this was quite the night, I went to the deli area and there was no workers in sight. My friend and I discussed what we wanted to get and we heard people talking in back and asked the two women in the back if they were still open. They literally looked back rolling their eyes and responded, uh! Like I just totally interrupted their day. Then they sent some boy out he came out and with the worst attitude I think he could muster and said, what do you want? I was so surprised, but got right to business. I ordered 3 things and he just acted like he was getting madder by each request, slapping the food in the container. I started to ask about the sizes and he cut me off and said, the sizes of containers are right there look for yourself, and pointed to the design attached to the glass. I wanted to ask about pricing but just stopped talking. After he handed us the 3 containers I still said to him, thank you and have a nice evening, he turned his back then as we started to walk away he said yeah, right. I didnt see many people shopping, they were all in line 15 people deep. Only had 1 checker running and they had a girl in one of the checking areas just primping the area. This was just the topping to the experience I had there already. Our eventual cashier was nice but your 5 star employee was the man in who bagged our groceries. I have to tell you I was all prepared to grade this store with 1 star, but because I dont expect absolute perfection and I do have to say the Deli itself looked pretty damn good for 8:30 pm and so did the rest of the store I saw. So these people arent entirely lazy because it takes work to keep everything up and looking good. So its really that very rude attitude that got up enough to write this. So Im gonna rate this store a two because this has really alerted me that maybe I need to find somewhere else to shop where they want regular customers. I did take video of the frontline if the manager wants to see it.4 years ago review-The store staff were friendly and helpful. When I was checking out the register froze and I was in a hurry. It took a bit of deliberation between manager and cashier. Finally they moved me to the next check stand which also froze. They tried many things I finally handed them cash and said Im sorry but I am late. They were very nice and I felt bad because they tried to be quick about it. Great staff, good store, equipment ah a little glitchy in that moment.

Deli has had no bread for a week at least. But they had bread for their pre packaged sandwiches that the employees are told to try to sell when they “run out” of rolls. It seems minor but Vons is just a mediocre grocery store at best. They used to be top tier in customer service but it has gone away. If you need what you can find on their shelves they will sell it to you. That’s the best thing I can say about them.

I work at Vons as a courtesy clerk. All of the employees are helpful.The courtesy clerks keep the store clean and keep the parking lot clean by gathering the carts making it easier for customers to find parking spots.The Managers are nice and will help you with any questions you have.

This is a good Vons to shop at. Its not typically busy. It has has nice clear aisles to get around in the event that it is busy. The floral area has many options for flowers or balloons. Additionally, there is a Starbucks in case you need some caffeine to finish your shopping trip. I wish we had a Vons on my side of town.

Its always clean, and I have to admit, I like having someone else to bag my groceries for me. Also, Ive compared Vons against other chains. Their deli section is better than others, but Im not sure it totally justifies the price difference (except the bread and sandwiches, its reasonable). The produce, however more than justifies the slightly higher price. Its not just that it is good, but it is always reliably excellent. Ive never gotten a bland or mealy apple there.

A trip to this Vons is like going to a friends house for my groceries! I always find what I need, no matter how unusual the item. Store staff is friendly and helpful. I even like the atmosphere! I have been going to this store since 1984, although it moved for a while and then moved back a few hundrwd feet to the weat.It is a full service grocery store in every respect, but you do pay a bit of a premium. Every one that works there is nice, even the security staff. Weve been shopping at that store since around 1998 when it was not yet Vons but Save Mart is what the predecessor to Vons was. We got to know alot of the staff there over the years and weve seen some retire or pass away. Theyve got some great people on staff there.

I come here primarily for the Cookies, Quality Ice (my wife is picky lol), and a few other things. Sometimes the discount prices are great but I wouldnt do all my shopping here because they are more expensive than other stores. I asked two different people (one female in customer service who was busy talking with another employee) where a specific item was and none of them walked me to the isle to find it. I gave this store a two started off to leave and noticed that wallet I left in cart. I got back in seconds and one of there workers getting carts out of the parking. The guy from vons picked it up and I remember that there was car next to where I parked and the worker pick up my wallet the guy in the car next to me told the worker he new me. And that worker should have never give people walllets or property they should be tuning them into the manager. Anyways he was quick to start charging things on my debit card gor $338 at best buy but locked that card and it also does do that. I have to get all my medical cards resent to me and thank you to wells fargo for being so helpful! Vons outside camera had a blocked view of his vehicle. Management spoke to the attendant to always turn into the manager anything left in a cart.Also, too many times Ive gone there and there are no shopping carts to use.

My go-to store location. The layout is easier to follow than other locations. Supervisors - shout out to Leticia and Carlos, and employees are cool, they say hello, ask if you need any help and keep it moving; this works for me. Vons is known for quality they carry best products. This store is located on stockdale hwy have large variety of flowers. Great collection for this season like flowers, gifts, cards and many more. The bakery section have many variety of cakes next to which they have best and fresh vegetables. Fruits are just awesome too they have the best fruits and they carry many varieties. Good thing is they are helping local small business people carrying 127 locally made / grown items. Its super clean, they have an excellent produce section (that even carries passion fruit), they sell my favorite and hard-to-find ice cream brand (Tillamook), and they have an excellent wine selection. My husband and I went to vons today to get a few things with our WIC checks. We had less than 15 items and even let someone go ahead of us because WIC usually takes a little while.This supervisor cashier Shannzy or something like that had just had a full conversation with a previous customer, then absolute silence when it was finally our turn. She kept rolling her eyes through the entire process, sighing and even went as far as tossing our green onions down the counter! She made us feel so uncomfortable and super judged. If you dont want to do WIC maybe speak with your corporate office and stop offering that service. And also first of all, how dare you? Ive read the reviews of this store and apparently the treatment we got isnt uncommon. I really dont appreciate being treated secondhand because she had to do a little extra work. Especially when we knew it would take a while and tried to limit her line for her. This isnt the only instance Ive had at this location. We go in frequently and its usually the supervisors who are incredibly rude to us. Maybe its because we look young, or because we used WIC or because we are minorities but either way, we are always nice because we were raised to treat others how we want to be treated.

I am sick and asked my boyfriend to pick up some soup and pedialyte in efforts to keep myself hydrated. He wasn’t in the store for 5 minutes before a male employee approached him in the baby aisle and asked if he was intending to steal something as security was watching him linger too long- he was waiting for a text back regarding what flavor pedialyte I wanted. My boyfriend then overheard the male employee tell a female employee waiting at the end of the aisle that he was “just waiting for one of those annoying people that ask you to buy stuff for them” to message him back. I wonder if this kind of service and profiling happens to every customer or just Latinos. Disappointed and completely hurt by the fact that my loving man had to endure this embarrassment all for being a kind and caring man! Will never be back to this location.
