I rarely go to this Vons even though it is very close to home. And it is mainly because it is a smaller store and the selection on some items is limited. And there have been several times I have gone into the store that in addition to the selection being limited because of store size, the shelves are empty and have not been stocked.There are two things though that I really do like with this particular store. The first is there sushi selection. The seafood is fresh and so very tasty. And the second is the floral department. They have many beautiful flowers and very lovely arrangements. I have bought flowers for clients here many times over the years.Whenever I need some thing in a hurry and selection is not important, or I need flowers or I am craving sushi, this is where I come!

Wife and I parked at this Vons on a Sunday evening at a parking lot that was roughly half full. We first went to drop some clothes off for a friend living nearby before we went shopping. My wife is pregnant and needs help getting out of the car or else I would have dropped her off first.Our car was towed within 1 hour and 5 mins by Western Towing. Western Towing stated the manager of this Vons, Fred Ring, called them and witness the violation. When my wife and I came back to go shopping we noticed our car was gone. What kind of person calls a tow truck on a pregnant woman who needs help to get out of the car? We went inside anyway as she needed to use the restroom and needed to verify that our car was towed and not stolen. She was denied the restroom even though the store was open for business and had shoppers in the aisles. We used to shop at this store weekly, but I will not support any business that conducts itself this way. We werent even angry at the time, just distraught that anyone would treat people this way.

This is a solid grocery store. It’s got everything you need and has a decent sized parking lot. The downside is the lines take forever. They need to add more cashiers or self checkout lines. I recommend avoiding this place during busy shopping hours if you are in a hurry or buying alcohol. The food selections are good but they are sometimes lacking in meat and cheese departments. Overall great spot for your grocery and household needs.

First off. Fredrick you are so rude. The tag was in the wrong spot so I thought the wrong chips were on sale. What are they supposed to do if that happens give you the price. Everyone knows this. He didnt give me the deal! And said he did! He also didnt give me my original receipt back, and said he did! Like come in it doesnt come out of your pocket. Vons is a million dollar corporation the higher ups dont care bout u or even know ur name. Train your people better please.

Parked in the Vons parking lot, dropped off some stuff at the store next door for not even 8 minutes; then went to Vons to shop for dinner: Came out and my car was towed as a “walk-off”. Employees were great, friendly and helpful. Store was terrible, narrow isles and poor signage made it hard to find items. At 11AM restocking was taking place and you couldnt get a cart past. Mission Hills is much better.

I know this security guard is older than I am! Now Im completely at a loss as to why his work ethic is so horrible. The way I was raised, if you worked at a job that closes at 1am, you didnt lock the door at 5 til because u didnt feel like being there anymore. Its a shame that I wasnt the only one locked out of the store trying to plead my case to this very bitter and obviously angry individual. Even after hearing that frequent this store quite often and that I only need to grab some milk for my daughter he still refused to let the human in him show. This store has been my neighborhood grocery store for as long as Ive lived in North Park and its only about a 6-7 minute walk from my front door but after tonight and. A couple of other similar incidents I think it is going to be worth my while to walk about 1 additional minute the opposite direction to target. This is no way to treat customers and worse yet now Ive got to find somewhere to get baby girl some milk.

I am not happy with how the store manager, Fedrick acted I did not get the just for u price and the Vons app keeps crashing on my phone and I use it from home on the computer and he wouldn’t want to give me the sale price unless I showed him the just for you online when I already explained to him that just for u does not work on my phone and it’s on the weekly ad so don’t understand why he didn’t believe me . I already called the Vons corporate to see what they can do and it still hasn’t gotten fixed my app keeps crashing on the phone. This is the second time I don’t get the price I’m supposed to get and he doesn’t fix anything

The bakery has gone downhill. If you order a cake that isn’t already made, expect to be disappointed in the decorations. I once ordered a frozen themed cake and you could barely see the Elsa print that was on it.This year, I requested pastel rainbow cupcakes with sprinkles for my daughter’s birthday, had a picture and everything. The colors of the icing are way off and they gave me the sprinkles (which don’t match) to put on myself.With rainbows, unicorns and mermaids being a common birthday theme for little girls, they really should be nailing this.Posted a photo of the request vs what was given.Next time I’ll go to Ralph’s

The store is clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a good selection of everything there. Deli, liquor, meat, fruits and veggies. Large parking lot as well. You can get a Vons discount card by asking any checkout person. They will also help you carry your purchased items to your automobile too.

It was quite pleasant to shop at 10pm. On a Saturday night! We navigated threw it very quickly! we got some good deals too! I think we are going to do our shopping at that time from now on! 10 pm. Saturday night was perfectI also have a refrigerator full of stuff to show you for only spending $61.90Which in fact, would have cost us$76.80 without the great discounts we got overall!$16.90 was our savings, thats a Whopping. 21% we saved overall!Thanks Vons!!

Great place to buy. Its a good-sized supermarket, wide variety of foods, very clean and organized.They have cooked food, warm and ready for you to serve!! I love this. Their grilled chicken is really delicious!! So are their mashed potatoes and potato salad.Their avocados are a bit pricey, though.. 3 for $5. However, theyre a bit larger than the regular ones.Their wide variety of flowers is something that I also like about this supermarket!!

Came with my roommate to see about prices and try to get a rough idea of how much wed have to budget to shop here (we love Vons). We went inside and almost an hour later, when we finished getting prices and some quick shopping done, my car was gone. Not 20 mins after arriving, the supervisor called for my car to be towed citing Walk-off, non-customer. Does this supervisor do this to every car they see? Do they scout the parking lot all day? How many other people have they done this to? (Having read some reviews online, it seems to be quite common) Until this point, I was more than happy to pay more for better quality (as Ive done for almost 7 years), but after this, I cannot hide my disdain for Vons, particularly this one. I will not recommend it to any of my friends or family and I know my roommate will not. Rather than spend $400 here, I ended up spending it trying to get my car back because the supervisor had my car towed. Do not shop here.

I went into the Vons on 30th Street to get change for a $100 bill. The cashier just shook his head no its 11:30 at night and I cant get change anywhere the guy was very rude to me so I went to look for the manager I could not find him so I went back up front then the guy the cashier decides to call the manager very rude again he could have just done that in the first place the manager was really nice and he helped me out and gave me my change. My wife and I have noticed that a lot of the people that work at this Vons are very rude thank you to the manager that was kind and nice appreciate it

Literally one of the worst grocery stores I’ve ever been to. Parking is always a nightmare. The can’t seem to restock items and they are always out of things. Checking out is a disaster as the never seem to have more than two lanes open and the self checkout isn’t marked so you have people coming in from all directions and cutting in line. 06/05/2024 update:I cant say enough great things about the staff here at Vons. I love the crew at Starbucks. Fanny and Caroline are absolutely AMAZING! They dont just remember my order and make it PERFECTLY but they have both taken the time to get to know me. Thank you!!!!!Love this store. I come here mostly for the Starbucks inside. The women who work there are amazing. Viviana and Phlavia always makes my drinks fast and delicious. Adrianne has gone above and beyond and has taken the time to get to know me. Thank you for always making my day better.

The store is clean. Fairly well stocked except for sale items, which they never seem prepared for. The homeless people in the parking lot are a bit aggressive. No security outside. The app is very helpful. I shop the app and choose a convenient pick up time. Of course there are never enough lanes open, but thats pretty much business as usual these days.

I witnessed few times how horrible the new head manager or administrator of this location treats her staff. I was so appalled what I witnessed one day that I asked an employee who she was and her name.They said she just started about a week ago and that she is disrespectful and insensitive towards her staff. The store itself is fine, however if youre a bike rider, do not trust their bike racks. I was shopping for 20 minutes and came back to just my front wheel in the rack.When I went back in to ask about security cameras, they dont have any in the parking lot.I called up the store the next day to talk about a reimbursement or why they dont invest in better bike racks or security cameras for the parking lots and just got vague answers about store policy.Be careful out there!

I shopped at this location this morning and while I was checking out, I was verbally harassed by the customer behind me in line. My cashier, David, refused to say a word to the man who was yelling at me. (Apparently to this guy, I had too many items and was taking too long to put them on the belt.)I even said, “are you not going to stand up for me?” and didn’t respond or chose to do anything. I will not be shopping at this store again with the horrible treatment and service.

The grocery itself was nice. The cashier was a very unprofessional. When asked if I would like to provide my phone number to receive a discount, I politely declined. She then made a point upon handing me the receipt to say,”You lost out. You could have saved $__. You should have entered your phone number, or really ANY phone number. It doesn’t even have to be yours.” I smiled and said thank you despite the unnecessary encouragement to provide a fake number, but as soon as I turned to leave she said to the costumer behind me,”WOW, it must be nice not to have to worry about money.” The employee was a short female with short, brunette hair and tattoos on her arm, but I didn’t catch her name. This was 11/19/21 around 3pm. I by no means am wealthy, but if I was that would be none of her concern. People shouldn’t feel the need to defend themselves to strangers who’s comments are uninformed. She knew nothing about me or my situation other than that I don’t care to give out my phone number or provide fake ones. Anything beyond that was pure judgment. I hope that in the future training will include basic etiquette and respectful exchanges.

Do not order delivery through vons, you will NOT get your order. First time ever shopping with them and will never shop again. Spent hours on the phone asking where my order was and all I could get from them was “it’s been picked up and on the way”. I then asked for a refund after never receiving the order and they stated “you’ll receive refund and an email within 30 min”. Do you think I got the refund and email? NOPE! Reported them to Amex to handle it. Absolutely a joke of a service, stay away from delivery!!!!!

Have used NP Vons for over 20 yrs. A Good Guy shout out: Deli personnel, Liam, Cathleen, April, Kenny and best guy Bill. I am trying the Vons in Hillcrest for a month because of an unnamed offensive checker. She said I was rude and refused to check out my purchase. Really, the inmates are running the asylum. Every Vons in my area has a certain vibe. Adams Ave, every employee has knowledge of products and locations. Willing to help me with good humor. Hillcrest is the Big Daddy of my nearby Vons. There are a couple areas that should be upgraded: bakery, and better interaction with meat buctchers. But, this a terrific store.P.S. I am a one person household, I spent $400 to $450 monthly at Vons.

They always have fresh produce and good sales/specials on select items (especially when you buy 5 or more).When Ive gone it hasnt been too crowded, and its easy to find what Im looking for. I shop here often and recommend downloading the app, pre-planning your shopping list in it- there are often really great app-only coupons!Create a list; it tells you where exactly to find your items, how much your total should be, and check off items as you shop. Frequently, my receipts now say Ive saved around $20 per trip (under $100 spent)Love that this feels like a neighborhood store, I recognize people there, and Im kicking myself for not knowing her/their name but the awesome person 40s-ish, really fun Mohawk bright colored hair- has brightened my day up several times! Theyre good at making everyone comfortable and are so gracious, especially since theyre ALWAYS there when Im shopping. Please give them a raise! They work SO hard!!My negative: Be aware if you shop late to avoid crowds... Youre not the only one in this neighborhood, AND often the self-check outs are closed down early and there is only one lane open for @ least the last hour open.

They closed the store 10 min early, which is whatever but when you just walked in & they are already in the loud speaker bugging you that the store is closed(multiple times) it got to be extremely annoying. Then at the register, there was only 1 person behind my boyfriend & I, & our card wasn’t working so I had to run to the car to get my wallet, & the cashier made it very clear how annoyed he was & how even though technically the store wasn’t even closed yet, mind you, we we’re causing him a huge inconvenience. If his scoffs weren’t noticeable, his excessive eye rolls were. VERY RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL!

I like it here because they definitely know their customers but I have had problems getting things filled on time, so its best if when you know your doctor called something in yiy call them to make sure they got the message right away or if you have a refill coming up to call them at least 3 days prior to the refill being due as they often have to order medications in advance. It can be frustrating but unlike other pharmacies, they will count it in front of you if you ask and they dont short you on what is promised.

The grocery store is very large and very full of everything you may need.The store looks like a photograph when you look down the isles.And a very knowledgeable staff. This is not my favorite Vons to shop at. The store is older kind of run down. It is small and very hard to navigate. I use the electronic disabled person cart and it was hard just to get down each isle. I realize there isnt alot they can do for this store to make it bigger but it still isnt easy to get around in. Especially if your disabled and use a wheelchair or electric cart. Save yourself the headache go to the Washington Street Vons. Much nicer and easier to navigate the aisles. Also they only had 1 electric cartridges it was run down..barley moved with a charge..most grocery stores dont worry about electric carts but for some of us its the only way we can shop. Dont you want our business??? Anyway hope this helps decide where to shop. For those people whose bodies work better its an OK store. No good.. not poor.. Id say fair.

Unfortunately the neighborhood has deteriorated around it.They never have enough cashiers so the lines are always long.They must dealing with brutal theft/shoplifting here and the security is only for show so things never get better.Recently one of the water machines out front was broken into.Not uncommon to have homeless trolling the parking lot or camped out on the grass outside. Sad all around.

I love the staff here-great customer service* and love their sense of humor during checkout.*Except for this one deli guy who gave me 1/2 a veggie sandwich but charged me $9 (technically $8.99+tax) for it which was absolutely 100% not worth it at all. I didnt want all the vegetables (or whatever) they offer cause Im a picky s.o.b. - so it was pretty much like a tomato, onion, cheese (literally 1 slice of cheese mustve seemed like that should suffice to this guy, cause thats what he gave me), and some olive tapendae on 1/2 of a sourdough roll. And to top it off he gave me the smaller of the 2 halves! $9!Like, I could go to Subway and get ripped off just the same only with the added bonus of spinach, more cheese, and on an entire footlong, (not to mention they have plain black olives which is more to my liking than the tapendae mix of various other olives the deli carries here).The sandwich thing I guess is my own fault because this happened the time prior when I ordered the same thing and from that same guy. Totally thought the price was ridiculous and then was disappointed when I ate it but chalked that time up as a fluke so was giving it another chance. My bad. Thats all.

Meat selection is VERY bad and never very fresh. Whole place is physically dirty. Butcher is always away from the counter. Lines are always long. Parking lot is poorly lit with shady people always hanging around. North Park needs a better option now that it’s a million dollar neighborhood. Pick-up is extremely slow & sometimes there’s no room to park inI Pick Up area.Got home missing at least 2 bags of produce, meats, & cheese. There is no way to get thru to a human via phone. You are directed to website and there you are instructed to fill out a report. I had to return to store in person and called from Pick Up spot. This Vons I like alot because since the start of the Covid-19 restrictions in California, like one day one safety and sanitation have been Vons top priority. Vons gas always had great customer service but they even found a way to take that to the next level and most didnt even no there was another level. This is our neighborhood, go-to grocery store. Theyve recently renovated it and its much nicer here. Its always pretty busy here, but thats only because its in such a popular area. They pretty much always have what I need when I go here. Excellent wine selection. Ive heard that you shouldnt park your car here for an extended period of time though because it will be towed so be sure youre quick when youre shopping! Cashiers, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The deli food is pretty good. You have to watch out for the occasional transient, but you cant blame the store for that. They have security guards who try to keep them at bay. Coinstar machine, Allpoint ATM, KeyMe machine, lotto machine are all up front if you need them.

I seem to prefer albertsons to vons even though they have the same owner (I believe). Vons typically has everything I need for general shopping but the locations I visit always seem to have much longer checkout lines than my go-to Albertsons store. My favorite is the spicy chicken. Its spicy enough to be quite tasty but never too spicy. I bought brand name prepackaged spicy chicken sausage at Vons and they were so over seasoned that they burned my mouth and I spit it out after first bite. I also love the huge selection of reasonably priced nuts. Too many great things to describe.

Only providing one star unfortunately I made the mistake of going to the website and showing the store was closing soon at approximately 1:31 in the morning on a late night emergency run. Did not realize you have to click through another screen to find out the hours are until 1:00 a.m. at this location. Just so you dont make the same mistake I did on in this case bicycle, headed all the way from the Ralphs in on University down near the freeway all the way to this location without checking the hours. Today I witnessed an employee who was stocking produce take her mask off and drink water out of a bottled water. I have seen this multiple times. It is now the last time I will go to this store. I counted 5 people in the store, talking on the phone with their mask around their chin and neck. None of the store employees asked them to cover up, even though they clearly saw them. One teen was without a mask entirely. News flash, we are in a pandemic and it is state mandated we wear a mask covering nose and mouth. If vons wont bother to protect their shoppers, then I wont frequent their store. When I lived in North Park this Vons store was where I would shop. I had wanted to visit the locksmith but there was no room on the street for parking and borrowed a parking place at Vons. The locksmith store had been closed each time I was in the area and I was looking for new lock. Auntie Hellens resale shop is next door to the locksmith store. I asked the man if he knew why the key shop was closed? The man had passed away. Need to look for a new locksmith.I did buy some whole milk, brownies and a head of Red Leaf lettuce from Vons.

Used to be my favorite store, visiting 2 or 3 times a week. They became very, very aggressive about asking for donation. If your answer is no, some of them are asking you even 3 times to make you feel guilty. It is so annoying that makes me sometimes angry. Line can be often very long on ordinary days, most likely because understaffing. I would say that somebody is looking for promotion and pay rise so badly over there. It is time for me to look for another store.

A very nicely organized store. The staff are very kind, willing to help, and lines for checkout are never too long. However staff at self check don’t appreciate being inconvenienced by their job.

I hate shopping here it cost way to much.Some things say they are on sale but they are not! They Jack the prices up way high for about a week then they have a sale and cut the prices down to regular price. So you think youre getting a deal, but in reality you are getting scammed. Sorry to burst anyones bubbles.

Vons no longer carries healthier TV dinners that I need. The Signature brand Chicken Peanut had Whole Wheat noodles that were good for my blood sugar issue.They also no longer carry Smart Ones Chicken with Broccoli. That was about the only dinner not loaded with white flour, which is unhealthy for a lot of people. Thats part of the obesity/diabetes epidemic!Now I have to alternate with Ralphs.

Very run-of-the-mill grocery experience. Most items were slightly more expensive than expected. Hard to find things/navigate. I would just go to Ralph’s instead. Friendly staff, just a bit scungy inside…

Im tired of them over-charging, raising false quantities, and adding extra items that I didnt buy. Lady at register rang me up 4 avocados and I only had 2 and this a continuous problem. In addition she charged me for an olive bar of $17. I just overpaid Vons $20. Good bye.

The Starbucks inside is awesome, I cant for the life of me remember the girls name but the barista working today (2/9/18 at about 5-6pm, only barista working) was just the best. Super friendly, easy to talk to, went it of her way to make please conversation. I genuinely regret not having any cash to tip her with because she deserved it and so much more. Plus the drink she made was perfect, normally I expect the espresso or coffee to be burnt and the baristas to be worn out if I order near the end of the day (its like that in the actual Starbucks) but everything was perfect and she was incredibly chipper and pleasant. Its worth it to stop here rather than the actual Starbucks down the road. The staff is way more pleasant and the drinks are on point.

This store is very under stocked on most items.Bread,pasta sauce, beef and advertised specials oh cheese the list is long.It also has a computer coupon app that is not user friendly. At the register I was spoken down too.

I wish this grocery store werent the only one around in NP. The produce (like many Safeway stores) is extremely overpriced, there is always a 10+ minute wait at the cash registers, its very hard to find wandering employees who can help you, and the parking situation is absolutely abysmal. As a weird specific example highlighting the labor holes this Vons falls through, I was interested in purchasing a hummus product but the price wasnt marked on the shelf (it had been torn off.) A week and a half later, I went back to get various groceries and checked back on the hummus...and the price tag still hadnt been fixed. Apart from the overpriced produce, this just seems to be a consistently understaffed location. Get rid of the floral department or get rid of the Starbucks...dont care, just hire some more people AND add a self-checkout zone. PLEEEEEASE.

This Vons is the most convenient grocery store in my area. My issues with this Vons revolve around the inconsistent supply of items. Its a regular occurrence coming here to buy specific things only to find them sold out. Worse still is that they fill the spots or areas where you normally find these items, so it makes it look like stock is full. But if you go there enough, youll run into this. Youll think theyll have moved it by the way they camouflage sold out items

Very grocery store. Much groceries. Deli is there? Yes it is there. Dairy is it here? Yes it is here. Bread? Yes. Vegatable? Yes. Drugs? Prescribed and OTC. Alcohol? Yes there is alcohol. Coffee? Yes. Baking stuff, vegetable, bakery. Yes, yes, yes. You will be able to buy groceries here. Gets busy sometimes.

Terrible, this store had my car towed from the parking lot while I was inside shopping! I complained immediately to the manager and they denied they had any involvement in it being taken. $300 later, I collected my car and discovered that it was indeed a tow initiated by Vons staff. Once I reported this to management again, they said that there was nothing they could do!!

Good vons. But got my bike stolen from its bike stand at 6pm. Someone broke and cut open a strong lock. No security cams eventhough the bike stand is only 20ft away from exit door. Poor lighting on the bike rack.

If I could give no stars....time upon time the schedule is not to accommodate guests but to make them wait w/ food to buy. I have been here with no cashiers out and been told by a cashier to stand in a line (with nobody there and who would not check because he was going on break) to wait for 5 min and he was sure someone would come...no thank you...forced to go somewhere else even though this one is so close.

Its really nice place to shop how ever when you get to a parking lots..to many homeless and also shady corrector hanging out in side of a parking lots just dont really feel safe..especially late night..should have security patrol a lots at all time..Thank you

The Vons on Mission Gorge gets five stars. These guys get three. The reason? I remember when the store opened. It was clean and offered a pleasant shopping experience. Now, the parking lot is essentially inaccessible, the recycling spot makes it shockingly dingy, and theres always someone or a group of people lingering/panhandling near the entrance. I recognize its in the middle of town, but Whole Foods in Hillcrest seems to manage a little better.

The sales from raspberries to chicken have really pulled me in lately. I ran up a $430 bill initially but after the sales items, I had saved $80 bucks.While last time I went at night, I didnt have long to wait in check out. And while areas of the store had stocking being done, it did not hamper my laundry list gathering.

Today was my 60th birthday and my family ordered a cake for me. When my family went to pick it up the clerk working in the bakery dropped my cake and proceeded to substitute a frozen cake (not the flavor I wanted) and did not write my name correctly and then put the substitute cake in the box smashing the top of the cake. The clerk then served up a dose of attitude along with all her errors. If you want a cake run from Vons and go to Costco where attitudes are NOT served to customers. Thanks Vons for the worst birthday cake ever. Won’t see you next year, we have learned our lesson. For the past 30 years in another town we were loyal Vons customers but you have insured we will not be going forward.

Great store. Awesome customer service. Just know during Covid-19, 6am-7am is Senior Shopping Hour. If youre not a senior, no point in going!
