This store is always clean and neatly stocked. Veggies and fruits were fresh. The staff are nice and helpful too. I had a taste for ramen noodles tonight and found some in the store. Their floral and plant department is my favorite. The prices is less expensive compared to other places that sell plants. Of course you can get additional discounts on food and gasoline by signing up with them.

Store is small. Could use more natural and organic/premium options. Checkout is endless frustration. The first self checkout stand on the right has a payment console that breaks often. I had to re scan all my items. Apple pay doesnt work for all cards. A sympathetic look and explanation from the cashier isnt a sufficient response. This is not a bank issue as it works everywhere else. Get a system that works for all cards from all banks or stop using apple pay. This isnt an amex or exotic card. A visa from a huge national bank needs to work or your work as a retailer isnt done.

Beware of getting gift cards at Vons they will waste your time for 2 + months just to tell you they have a no refund policy and to take it up with the company that you got the gift card from.I bought my sister a 25 dollars gift card for Sephora purchased at Vons. The first Safeway customer service agent I spoke to said to me that this was an ongoing problem they had with scammers tampering with gift cards. I submitted every thing they asked for (pictures proof that the gift card was 0 balance) I kept calling for updates and just to be told they didn’t have one. Finally I get a call from Safeway saying that my ticket had been denied, try calling Sephora they said. Will not be getting gift cards there again! Simone

Always clean and stocked, workers are decent and welling to help if/when you ask for it …. They’ll even pull the head of that department to double check. There are one or two bad apples but over all great workers … I personally prefer self check out out 3:4 the individual will help me check out my alcohol there is that one woman that will have me go all the way back in line to check out the alcohol refusing to do any extra work that’s the only reason why it’s a four star but over all great staff …

There’s a male worker on Wednesday mornings maybe 23-27 years of age Latino he wears a ponytail with a hat and I believe glasses . I was looking for pedialyte for my sick puppy and I asked if he could help . I said I’m not sure if I’m over looking it or if it’s not I’m stock right now . He then said if it’s not there we don’t have it . I said again it could be possible I over looked it can u check on the product for me ? He repeated hisself and just walked off . I love this branch, it’s management & staff, but come on guys it’s 9pm on Saturday and only 2 lines open at such a busy time!!!! we always get stuck on lines here. I was at this location tonight, at approximately 9:45 pm. While in line my husband and I observed a customer who was in front of us get belittled and berated by a cashier. The cashier’s name is Liz (I asked her for her name because she wasn’t wearing a name tag). The customer was disabled and had decided against purchasing some items and he clearly had difficulty communicating that. The cashier told him she didn’t know he didn’t want those items, and he apologized and she proceeded to say “until I’m a mind reader how would I know you didn’t want those things”, to which he apologized over and over about, all the while she kept berating him and then she abruptly stepped away while he was still standing there. This customer looked over at us and we were so taken aback by this exchange that as a customer myself I told this other customer it was okay, and that she was horrible, he then walked away looking confused and embarrassed. As he walked away she then walked back to the register and rang our items up, her demeanor was that of still being annoyed and that’s when I asked her for her name. There was another employee there, by the name if Haydee, she was bagging items and she was very friendly, it was clear that whole exchange was uncomfortable for her too, as stated she was very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I left the store feeling completely disgusted by having witnessed that exchange and feeling terrible for that other customer. Someone needs to look into this issue and needs to address it. To treat a customer poorly is unacceptable, but it was beyond that, she was abusive towards a disabled customer and that’s another level of customer mistreat. This employee clearly was not concerned about jeopardizing her job, because we were not the only ones in line, there were other customers behind us too and the cashier was being quite loud (hence, why it caught our attention). I think it’s fair to say if Liz has no problem mistreating customers in front of other customers, then it’s quite likely it’s something she regularly does. Why would she go out of her way to mistreat a customer when her job requires the complete opposite of that? I get sometimes we all have bad days, but even that doesn’t justify this cashier’s actions as they were completely abusive. We got home and I attempted calling the corporate number, however, they close by 10:00 pm pst., so I was unable to reach someone. I would very much appreciate it if a manager from the store got in contact with me because this can’t go unaddressed. Thank you.

Associates are hard to find and not interested in helping. When I asked about an advertised product I was told they had it in the back but it was on a pallet and too hard to get for me. Of course no manager was available since he or she was at lunch. This was my first visit to Vons and I cant see a reason to return.

There was a customer freak out incident. I avoided it but did catch a glimpse of the security guard doing everything to de-escalate. Once customer left I made my way back to the front, completed check out and walked passed this man as I left..”have a wonderful day” he said. So professional, calm. As others left awkwardly he handled each encounter with poise. Came on here to say props to you sir, whoever you are.

Some lady sits in her car and writes down license plate numbers to later tow customer vehicles. It drives customers away TBH. The parking lot gets full during the day, but for some reason they feel the need to only tow at night. Not only that, but the food servers sometimes need to be reminded to wear gloves when serving food especially after washing dishes in the sink. It’s kind of gross to watch that happen as a customer and have to remind the attendants of basic food safety.

The Vons on Atlantic and 46th and the one on Ximeno were very friendly and helpful. Sadly the one on Broadway and Atlantic the manager was rude, unfriendly and asking her questions made me feel stupid. I never used the app before or how to use digital coupons and her comment was if I wanted the discounts I had to figure it out myself. 😣 Another girl helped me but I still wont go there again. She has a job because of customers. No matter her mood, she shouldnt have offended me. 😵‍💫 Oh well. 🤗

Love this store. Everyone that works there all have good energy. Except Tiffany shes awful! Just kidding shes my favorite. The deli has a great selection and its always very clean and the people helpful. The store in general is always very clean, and i love that there is a code for the bathroom and you must be a customer in order to use it. Recently the shelves have been low on stock but thats everywhere. Oh and their floral department is always beautiful with a huge selection of arrangements as well as orchids, stuffed animals, balloons, everything. Unfortunately with crime up everywhere they are no longer open late.

My partner and I have been coming to this Vons for many years. Today, we were followed out by a shoplifter and were completely unaware that he was behind us. He followed us around the store, but Vons staff immediately called security. Our safety is thanks to Jose for yelling out to us that this man was behind us, especially because he had a knife. We had purchased a bottle of whiskey, which Im assuming he was going to try and take from us. Thank you, Jose. I truly believe you helped prevent something that couldve turned violent. Im relieved to know that Vons staff here are always looking out for the safety of their customers.

What the hell is wrong with your deli? They absolutely refuse to slice meat thin apparently. Last time I went there, I asked for very thinly sliced turkey and the guy literally told me he hates how long it takes to cut thin sliced meat, then told me that he thinks it looks gross and unappetizing like bird food when its sliced thin. Then he just sliced my turkey thick anyway.

Its a standard Vons; I walk here all the time to do quick groceries. Its typically not too busy and there are some good food places nearby that I can go to if Im doing multiple errands on my walk. The staff has always been friendly to me.

I enjoy shopping here because they offer great customer service and the store is always fresh and clean. Management will consider requests for items not currently stocked at this location. I like shopping here because there is a wide variety of fresh and packaged food at excellent prices with daily bargains. The store is very clean and never crowded. The aisles are wide so I can maneuver around without bumping into other shoppers. Also theres not a lot of oblivious employees getting in your way like in other stores so overall my experience here is very enjoyable.

Our experience here was bad. We waited for 20 minutes in line. Then the Black girl was talking so much about her personal business and saying negative stuff loudly. My 10 yr. old daughter was getting a headache and I tried to comfort her. She never stopped gossiping and she rang our items up so fast without looking with the customers stuff before us. When we told her that is our item, it was like she didnt even want to connect with the customers. Then she had a really bad attitude and folded her arms just staring at other customers negatively after. I dont think she is happy working there. She made our visit feel very uncomfortable and other people in the line. Its not good to hire people who are clearly unhappy and who share personal gossip for customers to have to hear. That was our last shopping there.

I gave the store five stars based solely upon the customer service that I received while I was in the store when they closed. The checker was very polite and built a report while checking out my grocery and didnt make me feel like I was a burden because he was trying to close. I have to give kudos to the store director, assistant director or admin (who ever writes the schedule) for having a designated checker and supervisor up until close so that none of the night crew is forced to check. Huge store, excellent selection of well - organized products. Lines were short, which is always a big plus! Everything was clean and presented well. Theres always some great Fab Five deals going on, and right now you can play Monopoly to win any array of prizes, including instant wins for free products! Friday shopping here was golden told. They usually have some sort of Friday deal, plus; this week there was a $5 off $50 coupon. The staff is here is young but so far every time I go in they are pleasant and respectable. My trip to Vons was great! They have the best Starbucks coffee of any grocery store. The lines are only a bit longer than the DMV but I was lucky enough to snag an open lane! If they open a self checkout section I will definitely give 5 stars! However, it is hard to complain when everyone is so friendly. Also, the bakery section is beautiful and well organized. I love shopping at Vons, it is so close and convenient, and they never run out of food.

I stopped in this Vons because I happened to be in the lot attempting to go to the pet store. It was closed, and I was desperate. I was picking up my new puppy the next morning and needed food. To my pleasant surprise, Vons had a large array of quality dog food. I was very happy with my purchase and since I was there, I saw they had a good quantity of my favorite Carbsmart ice cream and bought 5 boxes! That ice cream is rarely available at many other Vons stores. I like this Vons! They have you covered! Did I mention that they also have a coffee shop? You will be happy to shop in this treasure of a store!

A few months into the pandemic I recall wanting to write a review for markets for very similar reasons. My review pertains to my most recent visit. Working a customer facing job day in and day out can be different for every employee -- especially during a pandemic.Digital Payment: Takes Samsung, not Apple, Pay. I dont know of other forms of digital payment.Customer Service: Good though you may have to walk to the front to find an employee if the meat section isnt open or a knowledgeable employee isnt near you.Products: Good selection, I mainly come here for a cereal discount/sale.The store is usually clean. I been a customer for this Cons for almost 11 yrs. And I can say anything but great things about this place, the quality of products is nothing but excellent, the people that work there friendly, polite and courteous. Dont recall ever having to witness disputes nor arguments among customers and/or employees. Check it out for your self...they have $5 Fridays, you can get a Huge sandwich, or chicken wings and at tines if you are lucky even sushi..

The selection is about average. The store was clean. The problem was the employees. Someone followed me the entire time while I picked out my snacks. I dont look suspicious at all. I shouldnt even offer one single star. I pre-ordered 50 pieces of their fried chicken and they threw it out saying I was late. I specifically requested 7pm pick up only to show up and then being told the person who took the order placed it for 2 pm. I dont even get off of work till after 3pm. No one called me or notified me of my order and I left with them placing the fault on to me the customer. I specifically requested for a 7 pm pick up. Update 5/10/17The main issue that needs to be addressed its the poor staffing and their attitudes. Ive had issues ever since i could rememberwith this location. The staff in the meat department and deli department are some of the worst, reason being because they will blatantly ignore customers who are quietly waiting to be serviced. This morning the butcher had me waiting over 8 minutes just to get help, I had to holler at her and ask if the place was open for business just to get a lb off bacon!!!! She then acted insulted and very disgruntled gave me my bacon. She was giggling and chalking it up on the grey phone for at least five minutes before I had to loudly clear my throat and ask for service. Honestly i dont drive and this IS my nearest neighborhood market. Sadly its all i got unless i venture a few miles to food 4 less. :(***One of the worst Vons in the whole area. The lines waiting here are atrocious (horrible) pretty much any time there are more than ten shoppers in line they get overloaded and the few checkers on duty get flustered easily or seem to be heavily medicated. Courteous butt very slow in most cases. The management its not on top of things, the deli and bakery personnel specialise in ignoring customers and pretending to look busy our plain out just hiding in the back room area slacking off. My biggest disappointment is the FRESH soups in the front of the store, the deli person could give a damn about checking the fluid levels and temperature of the soups, i come in daily in the evening to get soup and all the pots are burnt, thick, suck to the bottom, crusty and just disgusting. Soups have to be checked every couple hours and water added as needed in the hot tanks. I know, i worked for a cafeteria for years. Also the handicapped stall of the bathroom has been out of service for almost a month now and homeless men Are constantly bathing in the sinks and playing in the stalls. Shame on management. Vons is a disgrace.

This is for Vons Grab and Go. I sent my significant other to pick up groceries which included some beer and tequila. Since he was not on the order (yet in his 50s, clearly over the age of 21) they would not release the alcohol to him. I had to return to the store, show MY ID and SIGN A WAIVER saying I was over 21 and that I wasnt going to share my alchohol with a minor. It would have just been easier to go inside and pick it up. Ridiculous. I hope they change this police.

Beautiful floral/gift dept. with good variety, nice selection of organic produce at fair prices, carries many local sourced goods, as well as many gourmet and organic grocery choices. The only negative is the lack of cashiers and open registers, at all times of day or night. Expect to stand in line with 6-10 others, with only one checks and open.

Ive been coming to this Vons for about 3 years now and they all seem to love me. I probably go twice if not three times a day because I live right down the street. Ive gotten to know almost all the employees and they are very genuine and happy to assist me. Much better than the other Vons Ive been to before. They didnt realize there were a couple of people waiting when they turned around. They looked surprised to see customers and helped us but we felt awkward. Usually we make online orders for their DriveUp & Go service. The customer service you receive is dependent on the individual bringing your order out to your car. Todays individual just wasnt in the mood to be service-friendly. He just wanted to give us our order so we can leave. If youre fine with that kind of service itll do. The substitutions for your items arent communicated like Instacart allows the people filling out your orders to do. Personalization is what you sacrifice for convenience.

Im not been to Vons in quite some time, the store was pretty much like I remember, except with some influence by Albertsons.Years ago when Albertsons bought out Luckys, they really ruined Luckys, but they didnt seem to repeat the mistake too much at least with Vons.I was actually at this location helping a friend with a broken leg do some shopping, as it was on our way home after a doctors appointment for his leg.If Im in the area again, this is some place Id rather shop rather than an nearer store, whose name I will not mention, but I dont think curious the best produce and not the best selection of other things for most non-hispanic people. Anyway it was out of our way anyway, really, going back to his place.That said, Id still prefer a Walmart Neighborhood Market over most stores, but Vons a lot of other things that most other stores, including Walmart, just dont carry.

Came in around 8:30 PM. A few items I wanted were out of stock. One in particular was part of a buy 4 deal so I told the checker when I checked out that theres only two left and that I wanted more. He tried to ask the manager for help but she (Wendy) blew us both off which was super unprofessional and rude considering there was a line backed up behind me. When he asked her again for help she blew us off again. My husband and I shop at this Vons almost exclusively because of its proximity to our home but also the selection and fair prices. I never thought to leave a review for a grocery store but tonights visit warranted one. We initially stopped in for the basics but after mulling over what to eat for dinner, we decided to stop by the deli for some chicken. The young man working the deli tonight deserves some very high recognition. His name is Diland and I was beyond impressed with his customer service!He helped us decide on the best deal for the chicken based on our discussion about quantity and let us know if we downloaded the Vons app, we could get the discount listed on the case (which was a solid $3+ off!). So we did. In the midst of sorting through the app details, he proceeded to bring a cart around to us and said here you go, you need this more than I do! He noticed that I was holding a few items in hand and my husband had an overflowing hand basket... not to mention Im 8 months pregnant so holding anything other than a purse is quite the struggle.Im not sure why I was so blown away by his kindness, but I was. Having worked in many customer-facing jobs in the past, I know that sometimes it can get a little monotonous and frustrating to have to ALWAYS be nice, especially when you run into the occasional rude person. So Ive felt that over the past few years, customer service has declined in all industries and customers have become more of a burden than someone employees are aiming to please. I have to say, Diland really went above and beyond to not only help us with a good deal, but to provide us with extra comfort that really isnt even part of his job! To say we were impressed is an understatement. He definitely deserves some recognition on here and by his management team. Hes got some incredible personal skills that are sometimes hard to find in an employee.Thank you Diland for putting a smile on our faces tonight :)

The Ross Dress for Less at this location is family friendly with a unisex customer restroom that has a diaper changing table. Theres a nice selection of spring and summer merchandise - theres still a low inventory but it improves weekly. Prices are high for Ross. I guess the economy is doing well so. I have the Vons app plus they allow you to use paper coupons as well. They have great sales and the app gives me Just 4 you prices on things I buy often. I usually save about 40-50% off my total which is between $120-$150 on each trip. This store is getto inside and outside. The place hasnt had a real renovation in decades. the deli sold me bad chicken. there are bums loitering and panhandling inside as well as outside the store. I tried this store a few times because the Ralphs although updated is too tiny. I live close, but its bad enough I rather make a drive for my goods now. Then, I switched stores and shopped at Pavilions, my all time favorite store. Some people say they are *the high-end*grocery chain for Vons. FOOD CONTAMINATION! Management literally covered up this open waste site under the produce. They placed more food stands around it so it is not visible to customers. This is scary and is very possible one of many unfounded contaminated store areas. I also discovered green mold in my Signature Cafe soup from the hot soup area after consuming half of it. Customers are at risk and some produce are sitting for sale in bad condition. In addition, Ive witnessed Management scream at Black customers entering the store accusing them of theft and running them out. It was highly disturbing.

I wish their produce department would keep their selves stocked. I find myself going to the Seal Beach store or the Pavilions off of Spring street cause their produce department works and keeps their shelves stocked.

I went in thinking it was my longtime favorite grocer JONS. I was pleasantly surprised to see that VONS carries many of the same items that JONS does. They should merge to reduce confusion.
