I shop at Vons intermittently. When it comes to meats and deli I feel are a better quality than your competitors in the area. I dont always shop there because of the frustration of sales and digital coupons. They suck. More people get frustrated with this than you know. I struggle with it at times myself. If you have a card it should give the price. Youre making shopping complicated. So I dont shop there much

Why 1 ⭐️?Because:The prices are high, the lines are long, the employee shortage (just ask the employees how exhausted & frustrated they are), lack of knowledgeable representatives with regards to daily/weekly sales and conflicting or confusing app for both internal and external customers.Don’t get me started on the unhealthy management.But, to be fair, the renovations look great. I can only conclude this was what the owners were trying to accomplish. The rest is not important to them as evidenced.I shopped here this last time for an office lunch run, store is near my company and I was short on time. I intend it to be the last time.Recommendation:Save your time & money and shop at many of the alternatives BAKO has to offer.

My family and I have shopped at this location for several years and have gotten to know the staff and have always enjoyed our shopping experience. Until this last year, prices have gone up and service has gone down. Number 1 problem is not enough staff at registers— as of late there is only 2 lanes open each time we go. Staff is obviously overworked because the engagement that was once there with customers is not there anymore. FYI just because you have self checkout stands does not mean you should lessen the staff at registers and every time I do the self checkout it has an error.

Everyone was social distancing, and it was very orderly, they had a cart sanitation area at the door, which I appreciated, Jenna and Nathan were very helpful, and they followed the guidelines from the CDC regarding the pandemic 🙂 I had a wonderful experience at Vons, everyone was wearing masks too which I appreciated 🙂

I go there to buy milk. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. Fruits are not very fresh. I bought some ripe avocados today, very expensive: two for $3, and they were rotten. I took some photos to show why it is not recommended to buy ripe avocados.

Not everyone wants to use self-checkout at 6am. My father goes in every morning to buy groceries. To get a human cashier to ring him up, he has to buy alcohol. People do not want to be responsible for checkout errors, and are not being paid to check themselves out. Do you want to lose customers?

I was shopping for groceries in this store in Jan 2023 when the guard approached and condescendingly told me to get a cart, take my groceries out of my plastic bags, and place them on it. As is my practice since the state government started to mandate that consumers pay for plastic grocery bags, I bring my own to the store. Instead of using the cart, I place and carry my groceries in my plastic bags as I shop. This action doubles as weight training. Going back to the guard, when I asked him why he was singling me out, he told me that he did not know if I paid for my groceries or not. It sounded absurd to me as I was still shopping and leisurely at that. Note that this particular Vons store is in SW Bakersfield where shoplifting is not widespread or so I assumed. It is offending enough to be accused of shoplifting,/stealing, it was more embarrassing when there were onlookers. When I brought up the issue with the store manager, she was apologetic, gave me a 10% discount on my purchase, and promised to have a conversation with the guard. I shopped in this store for 17 years and will not go back. I have brought my business elsewhere where shoppers are treated with more respect. After all, I pay for my purchase with my own money at that.

Kinda just meh, it was hot and humid in the store, the very few staff that were there looked miserable and fed up. the prices are ridiculous even if you have a Just4U account. plus this picture below from the eggs section doesn’t look very sanitary. on the better side, tracie and erynn were very helpful and the sandwich I got from the deli was pretty good.

This is my favorite grocery store to visit as most people who go here dont make it a family outing. So there are not a bunch of kids blocking the aisles. Also, the Marketplace has security so there are no bums hanging out asking for change. $5 Fridays are a good time to shop. Many deals. The staff are very friendly and create a welcoming atmosphere. They are very efficient at what they do. 2022 Update:. No changes to report. Still same great store.

I love this grocery. They have a wide variety of items and quite a few fun things down the imported aisle to experience foods of different cultures. The bathrooms are usually clean and they are wheelchair accessible. The employees are always kind and friendly and make it an enjoyable shopping experience.

My favorite grocery store (besides Aldis) to visit! First because they are located in one of the most beautiful spots in Bakersfield. Also, I love the the color schemes and font they use in their signage and the spaciousness of the aisles. Even the lighting is nice.The staff is so friendly and all my staples are in stock. I dont typically love to go grocery shopping but this place definitely makes it more tolerable.

Great place to purchase your groceries. You don’t have to wait in line outside like other groceries places. The manager is always working. He greets with a pleasant smile and treats the customers with respect. He was at the register and was training a new employee with patience, a lot of communication, and was guiding him with specific procedures about the company. They have store pickup and delivery.

I love this location.. Vons never disappoints me & sells the best brands at a fair price. The staff here at this store are very friendly & always willing to lend a helping hand. I love that being that I am handicap & have really bad Rheumatoid Arthritis. The deli section is amazing & I love getting sandwiches made there so much that I preferr them over Subway for a turkey sandwich 🥪😋... This was my first visit at the Von at The Market Place. I was impressed with the variety of groceries, cleanliness, and the great deli and staff at deki and helpfulness of the breadmsnHowever, checking out wasnt a very good experience. My husband is 78 and I am 76. We went to the express check because we had less than five items. To our surprise a young lady with a grocery cart full, I heard the cashier give her the total of $167.00, of groceries was being check out. I spoke to the customer and asked her if she knew she was in the 15 and under item. She acted surprise, but It wasnt convincing, she had no idea. When I brought it up to the cashier and asked her about it she said, When I realized she had so much Id already charged her for some items. The cashier also didnt bother to call anyone to help her box up. So we had to wait even longer. It wouldnt have been so bad if it werent for the fact I am disabled. The customer and cashier were talking like they were both friends, and were rude to us and others in line with few groceries.

I put back some organic onions because they were twice the price of normal onions..... The guy working produce made a big fuss picked them up and proceeded to mean mug me. I asked if there was a problem. He proceeded to cuss me out. I went to the front to complain to a manager. I was directed to someone who was not a manager... after I talked to him I was directed to a manager who gave me the store number so I could lodge a complaint. I get it everyone has bad days but if your employee cant remain calm and professional he should be let go. I am disappointed and hope they remedy this situation and provide more training to employees.

Their bakery have wide range of cakes etc. worth shopping with Vons as they maintain good quality products. Vons is known for quality they carry best products. This store is located on Ming ave have large variety of flowers. Great collection for this season like flowers, gifts, cards and many more. The bakery section have many variety of cakes next to which they have best and fresh vegetables. Fruits are just awesome too they have the best fruits and they carry many varieties. Good thing is they are helping local small business people carrying locally made / grown items. Customer is the one of the best, normally don’t have much wait times, staff are very well trained and friendly. Over all very good experience.

Went in around 8pm the store was clean and stocked up. Only complaint was the manager. She was extremely rude for no reason...I walked by the Starbucks kiosk and she was nearby,.asked if still open...she yelled! Close at 9pm...she yelled the store closing time....I just shrugged it off but still her demeanor was outside of a customer service rep.

My last visit to vons was terrible, not only did i end up with italian deli meat that had turned to poison and almost knocked me down when i got home and opened the package but the shopping experiance was terrible as well. Cashier, rude, totaly ignoring me, yelling back and forth with another cashier three registers down about how much fun her weekend was and about her kids and her dogs, What a nightmare. i believe the client should be king as they bring the money to the buisness and not be treated like trash. The manager came over and opened the cashiers drawer and removed a hand full of cash acting like she was a Goddess. i geuss the problem is like trash it keeps accumulating.

Great place to get inexpensive sushi for lunch time that is good quality. Is it the same Sushi company that used to operate on the campus of the University (CSUB). They make it right there in front of you at the deli. It isnt made in Los Angeles and then shipped up. And its probably the best price youll ever see for that kind of sushi anywhere. The grocery store itself is nice and clean its in a good clean neighborhood. The parking lot feels safe. Vons is part of the Pavilion /Safeway/ Albertsons chain of stores and its priced accordingly.

This store has everything... a huge deli with many prepared meals; a good choice of meat in the meat department; exceptional fresh seafood choices in that department; and my favorite... flowers galore. You can get a small bunch of fresh cut flowers for $5. Or, you can get more by only spending a small fraction of what they cost at a florist... and the flowers may even be fresher.

This is the place I guess, this is the high end grocery store in B-town, extra choices, tri-colored organic radishes lol, the organic cabbage I got for St Pattys day was great. Nice seafood selection which is nice for me, meat and potatoes are good but I enjoy other things more typically. The pharmacy is THE WORST!!! Nina, the pharmacy tech and the female pharmacist is terrible. I come here because it’s close to my house but I’d rather driver else where. I used to buy a majority of our meats for home cooking here. Yesterday I bought a tri tip that was cleverly packaged to hide a great amount of fat on the bottom side. To me, this is deceptive and fraudulent. As much as they routinely overcharge throughout the store, why should they have to bilk the customers out of a few dollars more? Augstyn and Marko helped me with a very large grocery order with ease. Augstyn pushed my cart and loaded my car. Both were very helpful and other staff were as well when I was searching for specific items. I appreciate the care and hard work they have exhibited especially so late on a Friday night when I’m sure they would rather be elsewhere. I offered my assistance with bagging the groceries and loading the vehicle but they kindly refused. I’ve had multiple customer interactions with Marko over the years and he has always been a pleasure.

I work next door. They are very rude to me. I used to go in everyday to get my staff snacks and my lunch. But I wont do that anymore. They dont care for my business anyways, the manager told one of my employees when she went in and told her how unhappy I was. This vons gets very busy during peak hours and it isnt always staffed to handle it. My biggest complaint is the pricing structure, sometimes you can find deals that beat target and walmart but many other items are priced insanely higher. (A 20 pack of fruits sacks is around 4.5 at walmart or target, if its not on sale its 9 dollars at vons).

I work for doordash, the orders from the vons always indicate that there are few items and in the end there are much more and they pay very little and on top of that the customers never tip ... for example today I made an order that said 18 items for 6 dollars and they worked for me giving 3 full carts ... the payment was not fair ...

It is a Krogers which means a different (better?) range of goods to Walmart. Also join the rewards club for best prices. One of the few chsins that offer the best sugar free ginger beer in the world, Bundaberg Diet Ginger Beer. (I envy the non-diabetic who can drink non-diabetic version ) Their Butcher shop has top quality meat & seafood.
