I am giving THE EMPLOYEE, JOYCELYN (?), THE FIVE STARS on 4/16/2024. She was kind, patient, and displayed a genuine attitude while taking care of us as the cashier. Our purchase took an unusual amount of time. It was imperative that we got it perfectly correct. She did not make us feel rushed or stupid while we tried to sort out the discrepancies. Simultaneously, she displayed a courteous attitude towards the other customers who were waiting in back of us in the line by offering them a priority place in the self-check out line. Her outstanding customer service took us by surprise because we knew that our purchases of SPECIFIC items was time consuming. We were very pleased with how we were handled with care by her.UNFORTUNATELY, I cannot say the same for the overtly RUDE and INTRUSIVE security guard at the front. He appears to be African or from some other foreign place. Even though we have made purchases prior, he continues to UNNECESSARILY follow us throughout the store. He makes it abundantly clear that he is following us. He makes no qualms that we are his target. This particular evening, I warned him to not stalk us and make our shopping experience unpleasant or we were not going to shop there EVER AGAIN.

Visited my local Von’s supermarket today. While the store was clean and well-organized, I noticed that customers tend to stand a bit too close for comfort in the checkout lines. It would be helpful if cashiers could kindly remind everyone to give each other some space. Unfortunately, they didnt have the Watermelon Lemonade I was looking for. However, Im not one to back down from a challenge, so Ill be returning in hopes of a better experience next time!!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾✌🏾❤️

One of nicest Vons Ive seen. They have 8 self-checkout kiosks. Theres a pack and delivery crew near the entrance. The selections at this store are so many, lots in stock. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking is big and easy access.

Worst customer service I have ever received at the customer service desk. It was horrendous. Vons new motto is the customer is never ever right, and its okay to disrespect and slander a senior citizen. She was extremely rude and insulting.She was so irritated that she had to issue a credit back on my EBT card. Dont know if she has bias against people on the EBT card or senior citizens.The Vons for you clipped coupon did not apply on my receipt for the hamburger I was buying. Other items appear but not this one. This woman didnt want to listen to you.This particular woman treated me as though I was a scammer and a criminal. You would have thought it was coming out of her own pocket.There was another woman handling a line(think she was a night Manager. She was rude and definitely didnt want to listen. Both of these women need to take a Customer Service Class and Listening class. Needs to learn to read the Vons receipt.

Called this vons about a delivery order that i had placed through the app. the girl that answered the phone first didn’t seem to know that was an option in the app. second, when i gave her my name she laughed at me, as if i was giving her a fake name! it was very rude and insulting, i hope that customer service training is better in the future.

I have been shopping at this VONS for 10 years and it always has what I need. From healthy options to meal prep to meat selections. I have always found what I need here. The customer service at the check out is always top notch and I have seen them go thru some experiences where I am surprised to see them keep their cool.

Not sure how I feel about a produce worker yelling over to the self checkout monitor that I didnt scan my items. Monitor then followed behind me taking pictures. I paid for my 3 items and had a receipt. Never even asked to see it just went with what someone said from at least 30 feet away.

No cashiers at night, self checkout only. One rude attendant and a security guard were the only employees at the registers. There are a lot of other supermarkets in the area that have figured out how to provide good service and not be stingy about having help available. Dont shop here at night, its not worth the hassle.

It was eleven oclock when I first arrived here and I overheard several arguments. While watching the entire dispute, I was giggling hysterically. One guy claimed to need pooping medicines, and another claimed to be meeting a 13-year-old youngster who was carrying drugs and other items. I noticed a blue automobile crushed into a curb with plants as I was leaving. The screaming continued. The driver of the automobile emerged, attempted to enter the business again, but was tackled and began yelling. The man on camera was saying some pretty hilarious things. When the police arrived and handcuffed the man who required pooping pills, my first encounter here came to an end.

Its more expensive than Walmart, but its also not Walmart - no Walmart people, better range of produce, less range of non-grocery products than a Walmarket but a nicer deli and range of auxiliary services. Their website does not update in-store inventory particularly quickly, though, so if youre looking for a more niche product be prepared to have to make a substitution on the fly.

Lousy baked goods. This is the second time this has happened (I gave them a second chance). Their cream pies seem to be mostly just whipped cream filling. 13 bucks is a lot to pay for all that whipped cream. Tried calling the store to complain and they took a very well, we dont make the pies and theres nothing we can do attitude. Not cool Vons. This location has been going down hill badly in the last couple years, even though their prices have been going up. Come on Vons... Get it together and stop screwing the public.

The STAFF at this store are very cool humans and they are always there for ya happily willing to assist/help with whatever a customer might need...The entire staff as a whole are all very Courteous, Friendly, and Professional mixed in with a little bit of a personal touch and a personal interest into each person/customer that they may come in contact with throughout any given day....👍🏼🤙👍🏼🤙This store is always filled with members of the community..(by the way...Great community! Almost everytime I go here Im disappointed because prices are usually higher on many items that I shop for than at other places. A can of tuna is about $1.25 at Walmart or even less at the 99¢ store and the same brand tuna, was recently marked sale price at 2 for $5 at Vons. Two packs of batteries for my bicycle lights cost $6 at Target and $20 at Vons. Vons is unionized though... Maybe thats why the prices are higher.

Typically I frequent another location and decided to visit this Vons. Ample parking as located within a large small-business mall. Exterior and interior well cared for and clean. Store layout well designed, shelves well stocked with product. Several Staff members were most helpful with finding specific items. Checkout was managed quickly and bagged as requested. Great Vons experience!

This is probably the best stocked Vons anywhere around. Its a huge one, and they have great deals strictly for that location. Employees are always nice and helpful; my only complaint is the restroom situation. There are on 2, and both require an employee to unlock, plus it was really dirty, paper everywhere, trash can was overflowing.

Worst experience I’ve ever had in a grocery store in my life. Spent an hour trying to check out with 2 products. Ended up walking out in frustration, as the person in front of me took over 30 minutes to check out and still wasn’t done. They need to hire more cashiers or make separate lines for people who are going to require divine intervention on EBT transactions.

I use the drive up and go option. I wish people not using drive up and go parking places would not use those parking spots. I cannot stand for long periods of time. Im disabled. Its rude to use those spaces as your parking spot and then walk into the store. Some of us arent able to grocery shop like most of the population. Quit making things more difficult for those who have it harder than you.

The app to save money has become so hard to use. Also, at the self-check out registers, the key pad for paying is just right for someone 5 or under, but not for 58 or taller. I have to stoop over to put in any numbers. VERY annoying.

This specific store has it together!! Very clean, organized, and friendly staff.The only recommendation I could provide is not putting holiday table of trinkets near the entrance waking into and out of the store. This causes an annoying bottle neck. Just take a look at it and relocate tables to a different location in the store.Also, amazing job to the deli staff!!! Very respectfully, kind, and courteous. My only regret is I didn’t get his name because I would have praised him on this site.

The store is cool, the staff are friendly and the items are well organized. They are usually in stock with the products they offer. I choose other stores at times because of prices or selection, but this Vons stays in my rotation because of its convenient location and the ease of shopping. Its rare to wait in a long line and they have a Starbucks inside. They have Wells Fargo ATM and a key making machine. Their flower selection is typically plentiful.

Love most of the employees but the prices have jumped up about 40% on most items. I spend at least 40 to 50 just for a simple dinner to make for ONE night. I spend more money a month on groceries than i do on my rent. The rewards cime in handy but the also expire. As much money it takes to earn just 1 reward there should not be a monthly expiration. I understand stores need to make money but less not get greedy. We are barely keeping our heads above water and food is a necessity to live and survive and its getting to a point where its almost impossible to buy food and keep a roof over our heads. Hard choice.....

Pick up parking spaces are always taken by people shopping inside the store, and Vons is not doing anything about that such as replacing the signs for bigger ones for example.It s the only store that i have experienced that issue, and I do Pick up orders at many other stores such as target or albertsons. Update: just dont get thr too shelf ben and Jerrys and kt wont ne crystaliy.Before: They have a big selection of ben and Jerry ice cream but it is always crystalized. This could be bc it is old (not likely), not constant temp or too cold. If the ice cream is freezer burned what else is not properly stored? This has happened 3 times.... I wouldnt buy anything that needs special care.The bathrooms smell horrible and are wet as if someone mopped with sewage water. The bathrooms also require a code but no one is allowed to have it except if they are paged to go back there, so dont go in having to go urgently bc you are better off walking to another store.They have a good selection of energy drinks and alcohol but that is the only thing Id trust.

Vons and Safeway are a great grocery store. I just have one small issue. Every month I accumulate rewards points and at the end of the month I redeem them for cash off my grocery bill. Every single month Im calling the customer service number and have to get them to put the points back on my card. Its very easy for them to give you the points, but very difficult to use your rewards points you accumulated and redeemed. Just make sure that when you redeem your rewards points youre actually getting the reward! This happens to me every single month.

Just had a pharmacist, Tim Glaze, at Vons tell me, What do you want?! in the smuggest, rudest way possible. Then he made another smug remark, Well? .... with a smirk on his face. I took a photo, then discreetly told him I would be posting about the experience. He said he would have me banned from the store if I posted the photo. Said he would have me bounced out on my head if I returned. Sadly, many, but by no means all, of the staff treat customers with contempt, like livestock. On a scale where Costco and Trader Joes are 5 stars, Vons is 1. Some of the staff are very nice, but most are rude. JESSIE in particular, said ‘yeah, yeah, yeah’ (keep it moving) when I requested 3 bags. She crammed everything into 2, then told me I didn’t need 3. When she eventually did give me another bag, she rang me up for 10 cents and said ‘you’re not leaving until you pay it.’ I did not have the 10c. And she took the bag back. She will likely get a raise once corporate reads this.

Was buying liquor for myself and I had my brother with me. I’ve never had anyone ask for my brothers ID. He is underage and always goes to shopping with me. Today this lady decided to ask for both of our IDs something that had never happened before. So I asked her to give me everything back so I can go to a different line and she said that I can’t go to a different line after she said no. She was a lady, around 50 years old, could’ve been the manager, I’m not sure. So I can’t go shopping with my family and buy myself a drink? If I come there with my 3 year old son, was she going to ask my son for an ID too? Horrible customer service.

This place is hostile environment for customers. One of the employees insulted me called me “weird” just because I ask for help. The employee was white lady. She was very hostile and not helpful. I regret coming here at that time. Walmart is much better place and cheap. Don’t shop this place the employees are ungrateful and hostile.

I was not too clear where to place my cart after I was done using it and I didnt know where to pick up carts because I understand you guys need to clean them. I also wish there was a better selection in the frozen foods for people who eat only seafood and vegetarian. all I see are chicken and beef in the entrees except an occasional vegetarian selection unless Im looking at the Amys and thats kind of expensive. also please restock the shrimp Chinese individual bucket I forget the brand that seems to get sold out pretty quickly. now for the compliments it doesnt get too crowded the staff are pretty friendly. If you have trouble walking or need an electric cart dont come here, recently I was in a car accident and my back was injured, I came to this Vons because it stays open late. No electric carts. I had to hang onto the shopping cart the whole time. I could only get a bit of groceries as I couldnt handle it. It wouldnt have been so bad if possibly the checker was nice. Ive been here before and it just seems like no one likes their job here.

I had the weirdest experience here. So I saw what looked like Ricegums crackhead cousin get into an argument with someone about a 13 year old boy or something about fiber pills. What followed next was totally chaotic: The cameraman started screaming about discount Ricegum meeting up with an underage boy, Ricegums crackhead cousin running out of the store/screaming madly, and it finally ended with him crashing his car into a tree.Someone might want to look into that.

When I asked for a bag that wasn’t seen anywhere from where I checked out, she pointed out the pile of bags which was very much closer to her than where I was standing not to mention she had a lot of bags on her desk in front of her. She could just hand me the one on her desk, but she chose to make me walk around and passed her and went back to my stuff and she literally was ignoring me to only God knew what she’s doing. What a “helpful”middle-age lady you guys have in this store. Get rid of the low spirit workers and bad customer service and give it senior folks instead (from my experience who was always around and offering help and bags). I’ll bring my business to other groceries then… scanning our own purchase is already a burden for customers now we have to walk around for a bag? Get real!!

Stephanie, cashier, is consistently rude to us. Definitely not necessary. Mentioned that heavy bags are difficult to carry upstairs, so from that point on she used one bag for each item. Stephanie seems to be purposefully disrespectful. Hope this ends now.

Ridiculous. My grandma went in for her COVID vaccine. Asked the lady at customer service where the pharmacy was and was treated like she was stupid. She never been in this store before. She proceeded to the pharmacy and said she was there for an appointment to get a vaccine. She was told She had to wait in line because there were walk ins waiting too. 15 people to be exact. Isn’t that the point of an appointment??? To skip ahead of the walk ins?? All the employee could do was look at her and did not honor her appointment. Mind you it took 15-20 minutes to create an account, fill out all of the information, and a hassle to show up. She watch her granddaughter only have a limited time to do things during the day. She had go and walk out because she didn’t have time to wait for 15 people to get their vaccine before her. will never be back!!! Just because employees didn’t want to upset the walk ins. Sorry but those are their fault for not making an appointment. Well guess what. You upset me. And my whole family

I have had a generally great experience with this store in particular, store is typically very clean and well managed and the staff is helpful and knowledgeable about where items in the store are located, however one thing I thought was worth noting was that I was out shopping for Bolognese Sauce when I heard a sudden uproar, a man was being chased around by another man who was holding a camera, saying stuff about giving a 13 year old crystal meth, now of course, I didn’t know what to do during this situation, so naturally I kept looking for the Bolognese Sauce, the encounter between the two men kept going for what seemed like an additional 5 minutes, one of the men who were a part of the situation ended up crashing into a tree and another car and got arrested, also I found the Bolognese Sauce and it went very well on the Tortellini I had prepared the previous night.

The problem with this redundant chatter is that it impedes my ability to hear the scanner. Difficult to know if items are properly scanned or not.

This Von’s is located near downtown La Mesa.It’s in a shopping complex with Panda Express, Pizza Hut and a few other restaurants and stores. Parking is plentiful. There are 5-6 parking lot entrances/exits.The staff here are helpful and friendly for the most part. If you need something from the top shelf they will help with no hesitation.The Wells Fargo isn’t there anymore.I’ve never had a problem with the quality of the food. Check out is always easy.

They are always helpful and all the employees are very nice. I live nearby so this is my place to shop. The store is clean and the variety is the best, we get our birthday cakes for our employees there and I can come down and find gifts and cards also. This is my one stop shop for everything. Most of all I want to say Thank you to all the employees who work hard to keep the shelves stocked and risk their health to be here for me during this Covid outbreak. I worked there and quit because I couldnt in good conscience sell Produce at the Mark-ups I saw!!! ;People will shop there neighborhood stores because of the convenience. I have tried to like this store for two years. After my recent experience, Im done. I spent over 10 minutes waiting at the Deli counter all the while employees were too busy stocking cheese (I am not kidding). At checkout, one lane was open with a line going halfway down the store....finally an employee steps out and says, Oh my god, look at this line! After 15 minutes of waiting and finally opens a second lane. So unprofessional and a complete lack of customer service. I tallied up a total of 25 minutes of waiting for help this last trip and that is inexcusable. Get your store staffed properly and hire common sense people that when they see someone waiting, will actually HELP them. Im moving to another store not as convenient but I am hoping for a better experience. On the plus, the meat and produce is fantastic here, and the reason I have tolerate 2 years of bad service...but Ive hit a breaking point.

While the store is great, I have to rate this pharmacy as one of the least efficient, least organized I’ve been to. A line of two people can take up to 25 minutes just to get a chance to speak with someone. Picking up anything here is usually an hour stop in total just to pick up your prescription. Always seems like an understaffing issue and it’s been this way long enough that it seems they either don’t care or are unaware these things are an issue.

Ok. I used to work right next to this Vons and its walking distance from my apartment. They USED to have self check out service, those were the good old days, when someone with only 6-10 items for taco Tuesday could get in and out without much of a wait. Now, the self check out is gone and instead they have two express lanes. Lets do the math on that. 4-2=2 and if we account for the fact that only ONE of those lanes (if either) is open at a time, well take that down to one. ONE lane to replace 4 self service 15 items or less lanes.When I inquired why they got rid of them and asked if theft was an issue, they said no. Theft wasnt an issue, it was because one attendant ended up ringing up four people at a time and that it was nearly impossible. I have some issues with that as HALF the time that attendant wouldnt be available as they were gabbing with some other associate or complaining openly about the manager/company to someone 3 lanes down.Some of the front end people are great and very nice, sometimes too great as they will continue to have conversations with the people checking out after theyve finished with LITERALLY a line down the aisles.The problem: This Vons has a huge selection but I dont want to come here because the 3s a crowd thing they came out with, NEVER helps. Whoever does... I dont know, the scheduling or the hiring needs to be fixed.My solution: I drive to Ralphs on Montezuma. Ive never had the crazy issue with lines there as I have at this Vons.

One of the strangest Vons Adams Ave ever been to there’s always some homeless drunk person out in the front babbling… They do have a very very efficient and fast Starbucks however… And actually at one time I was there some employee was able to get rid of this drunk guy who actually made his way into the store started harassing the Starbucks employees and she dumped a cup of cold ice on him which woke him up and got him out that was awesome. Even after 9 months had passed since covid started and papertowel and toilet paper disappeared off the shelves, they still did not have paper towels and toilet paper. The sprouts in la mesa, vine ripe market, Ralphs on parkway and the new market called Fraziers farm has way better selection and are much better. I have been using Vons/Safeways home delivery service for a few months now and sad to say they havent been as good as they could be. You would think that if it was on the store shelf they could also have it for delivery. However, they have a limited selection and availability changes from week to week. so just because you got item x last week dont expect it to be available the next time you go online to order. The other problem is they dont seem to inspect there vegetables for freshness. I got a head of lettuce that was brown and bad, good for compost but not much else. Great produce section, meats good as well, a little high on everything else. I can go to some competing markets and get stuff cheeper. If you plan right you can save some good money just depends on what you are buying.

I really enjoyed this experience as I like to grocery shop. I prefer this Vons over the Vons in Rancho Bernardo which is where I live. They have a better display of meats and cleanliness empressed me.

Their website said that their Western Union and costumer service desk were still open. I went out of my way, specifically because of the misinformation I got off their website regarding WESTERN UNION money transfers after normal business hours, BTW THE TIME WAS EXACTLY 8:01 PM. DONT TRUST THEIR WEBSITE HOURS!!

Been shopping at this location for over 20 years even after we moved to LG...the other grocery store is down the street...but this Vons is always clean, customer service is excellent but, its Ranchers Reserve that keeps me loyal. Thank you Vons

Sadly Google Maps doesnt sadly Google Maps doesnt list the address when I want you to make a review well we might go to different stores maybe multiple Vines within a week maybe even within a day so thats a problem how do you know which one you speaking to in general Vons are fairly good but theyre a little bit overpriced they no longer give out bread theyd rather give it to the food bank so they can get a tax deduction when people in their own Community might really use it

Wow, horrible. So we called the deli during normal hours and were intending on placing a large order in preparation for an event that is coming up. We called to gather a little more information on pricing and get a human opinion on their options for our order. The person who answers the phone upon being questioned as to what was available said da primo. That sounds interesting, what is in it? Da primo is good Right, but what is in it? Uhh, it...good. Perhaps we were being trolled by a youthful prank call enthusiast, which I really hope is the case. Regardless, they lost a fair amount of business and if that was actually a person that answered the phone, perhaps the management can refrain from allowing those that havent mastered basic English from answering the telephone. I would rather have had a generic message describing when a good time to call back would be. Called Albertsons, lo and behold a friendly person that laid out some nice options was there to assist us.

Lame is the best description for the tired lazy uninspired union checkers.2 checkouts with 20 people waiting between them.Only shop there for small stuff. It what 7-11 used to be for.Hope they strike and lose even more business.

(Im a girl on my BF account)I go here all the time. One incident i was extremely disrespected. So this women bumps in to me while im at the registered, i tell the lady hi but you just bumped into me. She says: No I didnt(that irritated me she could have just said i didnt realize sorry or something like that) So i reply: Well maybe if you didnt have all that fat on you would have been able to feel that. By then the cash register lady jumps in like theres not going to be know fighting here dont say nothing to her(im black, so i was automaticlly offened when she said no fighting like what you think just cause im black i go around fighting everyone i exchange words with)So i tell her to STFU! & Dont talk to me as a child. Then my boyfriend comes back around and i start telling him the story, why did this register lady go jump in my converstation and starts trying to tell my Boyfriend the story. So by then im super disrespectful to her. Telling her she needs to mind her damn business, you dont get paid enough to tell me what the f**** to do, do your job ring me up so i go, or come outside so i get take flight on you. So you know by then she goes get the manager. I just didnt feel like that Register Lady should have got involed. she actually made the situation worst.
