You wont have any regrets buying from Volvo Marin. My sales rep, Tex, was with me from the very beginning (they dont work on commission 👍) and answered every question I had. No matter how small the request was he was able to accommodate it and always responded timely to any correspondence. I love my car and wouldnt hesitate to be a return customer down the road if Im ever in need.

Lizbeth and Neal were really great - they addressed all the questions and concerns, helped with rental car, and even made it possible to pick the car slightly after 5 pm (office closes at 5 pm).Overall, great facility, timely service, and friendly staff.

If I could give Volvo Cars of Marin more than a 5 rating I would. This was by far the easiest car shopping experience I have ever had. From the prompt response from the virtual assistant to the immediate call I received from Christian everything was perfect.We set up a time to meet Christian ( Sunday 1/21/2024 ) at 10:00 am. He was prompt, friendly, professional, and attentive. I was very impressed with how he addressed all of my wives questions. He displayed great patience with all of her inquiries.The actual sales process was incredibly smooth. Trade in value was accurate and fair. Pricing was fair. There was no need to haggle over price. Their use of technology to complete the transaction was most appreciated and quick. He knows the cars in and out, was very helpful explaining the PHEV to me, was patient with my many questions. He gave me a good deal and is just a super nice guy to work with. I bought my car from Dara at Volvo the experience was less than pleasantPros:It’s a Tesla. Drives good. Was clean. Good price.Cons:They didn’t release the car so I had to wait 1:30hrs trying to figure out how to transfer it. No one knew what to do.The car only had 30 miles on it when bought so after all that I had to chargeDara said the car would be delivered to me afternoon or late afternoon. Come the day of, few days after paying deposit. No one was able to deliver. Soonest was 2 days later. Dara said he’d try to reimburse me for the Uber but when it came time I messaged him and got no response.Key was faulty within 3 days I had to book a Tesla appointment. I asked if I could be reimbursed. Again not even a response. A no is ok. But completely ignoring I think is messed up.Many scratches you couldn’t see in the pictures.Compared to Carvana or Carmax this was a terrible experience. The only reason I gave 2 stars is the price and the car. Won’t ever be buying from Marin Volvo again.

This is the second car I have purchased from Volvo Cars Marin and general manager Diana Kennedy. I would highly recommend this dealership as they provide 5 star service starting with the sales department and continuing into the service department.I had been looking for a 2023 XC40 Recharge Ultimate to replace my 2021 XC40 Recharge with no success due to low inventory and high demand.Three weeks ago Joaquin Cerda called to let me know that one had become available and if I wanted it. I said yes. But then he called me back to let me know that when he went to the manager to secure it, another sales person had just sold it. He was very apologetic and told me he would let me know if something became available.Yesterday morning I was pleasantly surprised when Joaquin called to let me know that one had become available and he had secured it for me incase I was still looking. He provided detailed purchase options for me to compare and answered all my questions. I met Joaquin that afternoon at 5pm and drove away with a new car before 6pm. I very much appreciate Joaquin’s follow up with me after the first car fell through. Joaquin and Diana made the whole car buying process simple and straightforward.My experiences with Volvo Cars Marin Service has been consistently exceptional thanks to service manager Chris Vann and his excellent team. Dara helped us get into our almost new Volvo. We had a long drive to look at the car. With a few details in place, they held the car we wanted and made and sent a detailed video up front of the car. We drove the 3 hours and with a very fair trade in deal that we had not really even planned on, we had test driven the car and done all paperwork and were out of the dealership in two hours. The coffee bar and hospitality were great, we felt welcomed and special from the beginning. Thanks to all! We are do happy with our purchase. Dara you are the best!

I had an older Volvo that I tried taking to 2 other mechanics. After they couldnt fix the problem I called this place. They seemed very nice and said they could fix it and have seen this issue many times before and told me to tow it in there. I was very specific to them about the issue and the what had been tried and how I only could tow it one more time with my AAA membership. After I towed it in, they gave me an estimate of a couple days and around 600 dollars which I thought was great. The next week they called me telling me that they wouldnt work on it. I reluctantly understood and asked if they could tow it back to me as I had used my last tow to get it there under the thought that they could fix it. They said they wouldnt tow it back to me and then mentioned how I had a couple days to get it towed off their lot or they would start charging me 150 dollars a day. This place by far is the WORST service center Ive ever taken a car to and I would never recommend it to anyone and will now be actively recommending everyone I know to NEVER take their cars here under any circumstances. Dont do it. Dont waste your time with this company.

This was the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. Tex reached out to me immediately after I submitted an online inquiry. PRICE GOUGING!! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF!!$295 for a diagnostic... ridiculous already considering it was literally a battery terminal issue that was probably found in less than 5 minutes. They serviced a safety belt recall and STILL charged me the full $295 diagnostic (which in itself is an absolute rip off). They messaged me with a quote of $582 for the repair, not including the diagnostic fee. I looked up the part they said it needed, and the price was $87 online from an authorized Volvo retailer. According to the web, this repair takes about an hour. The woman in the service department said the part, through them, was $187 + tax, and the rest of the estimate was for labor. I said no thanks and that Id come pick-up the car. They also wouldnt accept cash which was the only thing I had with me, claiming their bank was on the East Coast and they couldnt deposit the money. Not everyone wants to pay with plastic these days, especially after personally experiencing bank fraud.The next day, I called the parts department and asked about the price of this part I needed... he told me it was about $200 (probably the $187 + tax). On Volvo Cars website (THE SAME EXACT LOCATION), THIS PART IS $104 + tax. I asked the parts guy why that is, and he chuckled and said its the same part and just cheaper on their website. Seriously WTH?! WHY ON EARTH WOULD THE DEALERSHIP DOUBLE THE PRICE IF YOU WALK-IN OR HAVE THE WORK DONE IN THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT COMPARED TO ORDERING IT OFF THEIR WEBSITE!? Absolutely ridiculous. Pretty sure this violates price gouging and consumer protections laws, which Im definitely looking into. THIS PLACE WILL RIP YOU OFF! DO NOT GO HERE!

I recently leased an XC40 Recharge. The initial transaction was the easiest process I have had. They did everything over email and phone, delivered the car to me and I signed everything at home in 5 minutes. Sadly the car had a charging port issue. Instead of making me go thru countless visits back to get it fixed, they worked with Volvo to get me a brand new car. They drove it to my house and picked up the other one. If all customer service was like Volvo Marin, life would be so much easier!

Ive gone to Volvo Marin for servicing my Polestar 2 and each time ive had fantastic service. Lizbeth is the person who typically is there as my service rep and I couldnt ask for anyone better. Shes always giving me text updates letting me know at what stage my car is being worked on.During my last service visit, i had to install a kick sensor but also mentioned a rattling noise. Their tech person took time to analyze the issue and found the source of the noise huzzah! They had to special order a part but after a week, I got my Polestar back freshly washed and sounding perfectly silent.

They charged me an extra $1k for a Stargaurd policy, which they told me was included in the sticker price while I was test driving the car. They completely rushed me through the paperwork when buying the car, and did not explain that the Stargaurd would be an extra 1k, or I would have absolutely refused to include something so worthless. When I thoroughly reviewed the paperwork when I got home, and called them to tell them about this mistake, the manager Dara, disregarded this completely. He told me I was wrong in what I thought the sticker price was, and that this was not information he was able to check back on. They are more concerned about predatory profits than being honest with the breakdown of the cost of their vehicles.

I purchased a Polestar in Texas and had it transported to California. When it arrived the transport drivers were unable to remove the vehicle from the trailer. The car would not move. No one really knew what to do so the transport company decided to drive to the Polestar dealership. The employee there did not even consider trying to help. I then suggested the transport drivers go to this Volvo dealership/Polestar service center to try to get help. They were incredible!! Tex, a salesman there, got in the vehicle and literally devoted an hour of his day to helping remove the vehicle from the trailer. Dan was also very helpful! Everyone on the sales floor was kind and willing to help with a problem that technically wasnt their problem. Im so glad we took the car here and Im so glad Tex was working today! Thank you guys!

My husband and I knew what we were looking for but couldn’t find an available model in San Jose where we live so we started to contact dealers a little farther away. SERVICE DEPARTMENT FAIL. My 2015 V60 Cross Country should be worth about $10,500 right now. Thanks to Volvo Cars of Marin service department, it’s worth approximately $0. The ineffectuality and lack of integrity in their service dept is astounding. They did a routine service about six months ago, and I asked them to determine why my car was burning through oil so quickly. Upon return, they told me that the burning of oil at that rate was “on spec, to be expected for a car of this age.” (It’s a V60, 7 years old and just hit 100,000). They told me to just “fill it with oil every time it’s filled with gas.” Sure, like that’s normal? Regardless, I proceeded to put an obscene amount of oil in it, trusting their advice.Fast forward to this week, I take it in because the check engine light is on. They charge me $300 for a diagnosis, and propose $1900 to replace plugs and coils. I called Swedish Auto Service, who quoted me $700 for the exact same work. So I bring it to them, and immediately get a call back explaining to me that Volvo’s diagnosis was absolutely wrong, and advise that I need to get a refund from Volvo because they completed misguided me and wasted all of our time. And of course I now owe mechanic #2 for the time to correctly diagnose the real issue, which is a bad cylinder…which is basically catastrophic (and nothing should be catastrophic for a well cared for European car at 100,000 miles). I Most importantly, it *WOULD’NT HAVE BEEN*,, had Volvo done their job six months ago and determined why it was burning oil like a lamp.Thanks to Volvo of Marin, my car is basically a 4,000 pound paperweight. It should be worth $10,500 right now.So I’ve reached out to Volvo for, if nothing else, a refund on the bad diagnosis. Have I heard anything back? No. Because, as I’ve mentioned, they have zero integrity.

I have been a customer of Volvo of Marin for 8.5 years. When I purchased the new model XC-90. It had some kinks that you get the first year of any newly designed car. The service department specifically Bill Moakley has treated me professionally and fairly. I trust Bill and if says the car needs something I dont hesitate to follow his advice. His dedication and work ethic has obviously rubbed off on the other employees who also share his professionalism. When I had some technical questions the mechanic who came out and spoke with me was also very knowledgable and professional.Another Star of the service team who probably goes overlooked, but has more contact with Volvo Clients than any other Employee both on bring their car in for service and the last contact when picking their car up is Alfredo Gonzalez. I just sold my Volvo because of how difficult this service department was to work with. Several times after taking the car in for routine service only to pick up my car with another new issue for which I was charged (ie my car was not making a noise when I dropped it off and picked it up only to find it had a high pitched whine). When my plug in cord broke and I needed a replacement in early 2020, I was told that I “should be grateful” I could at least drive my car when I was frustrated with how long the replacement was taken. It is very difficult to get a loaner car when an urgent issue (like a maintenance light) comes up. Volvos just are not as reliable as they used to be and working with the shop at Volvo Marin is a complete nightmare.

We all know how fraught this experience can be, but my experience in Volvo Marin left me inspired. Inspired, because they were the antithesis of the generally held viewpoints of the car-buying-experience. My advisor was a young man named Lupé. During the process he was kind, approachable, honest, and agreeable. He was a gentleman! There was no haggling and none of that back and forth. It was just flawlessly smooth. So much so, that the next time I saw him, I felt compelled to bring him a small gift!Yesterday I went back to the dealership, and it shouldnt have surprised me that their service staff were just as competent, kind and agreeable as the rest of who I was exposed to in the sale process. Lisa was a gem. On top of the ball, efficient with her words and actions, and went above and beyond in helping me out.For me, the Volvo brands means something. I called and asked them to price match and they refused citing that all Volvo dealerships have different owners and set different prices. They clearly think its okay to price gauge because their location is in an affluent area. Id rather drive home with overdue service than overpay $241. When I told this to the service manager he hung up on me.I had a similar experience with Volvo Walnut Creek. Their service price for the 90K service was $100 higher than San Diego, however, they honored the lower price. I left my XC60 Recharge at the Volvo Service Center of Marin for two reasons:1. Check Engine warning2. Heater failureThree hours later, I received a phone call from them saying the car was ready to be picked up. He stated that the Check Engine warning was cleared, and the car was ready to go. I asked them the reason for the warning, and he told me that he did not know. To get more details, I had to leave the car a little longer so a technician could look at it deeper, he said. Of course, I left the car to fix the problem, not to hide it. Three days later, I went there to pick up a supposedly fixed car. They gave me a key. I got into the car and start the engine. Start the heater and wait 5 minutes to heat it. Still blowing cold air. I returned to the lobby and reported that the heater was still not working. After my report, they confirmed that the broken part was backorder and could not fix the heater. But I got a call saying the car was fixed and ready to be picked up. They said the broken part would take approximately two months to arrive. Whatever, at least I knew that car was not fixed, and I had to wait until the part arrived. I returned to the car and noticed my sunglasses case was missing. When I reported the missing sunglasses case, they refused to say it was stolen from my car. I am certain I left it in the car.I left my Volvo for service at the same Service Center a year ago, and Emergency Warning Triangle Sign was gone from my car.I dont hope to get the lost items back, but be careful when you leave your car at this service center. Do not leave your valuables in a car.

I am a longtime Volvo driver and devotee who strayed over to Infiniti for six years. But I am back bigtime, so if I gush about the2022 Volvo XC40 Re-Charge know that this is my third Volvo over the last 22 years and I am a huge fan. After 5 months of bliss my EV charging cable failed somehow and I brought my car into the Marin Volvo Service dept yesterday morning. Chris Vann, Parts & Service Manager tested the car and told me that my charging speed was set low in the car, who knew? He was able to test my car and the cable repeatedly to diagnose and resolve the situation. I left with a different EV cable which instantly restored my car to full electric operation once I connected it with my home charging station. I wish all problems were this easy to solve. Appreciated the time and care I experienced at Volvo Service.

Im going to keep this short and sweet. Lupe says to be extremely honest. I spoke to Lupe over the phone and drove from Vacaville to San Rafael. I loved how the Nissan Murano looked and drove. Lupe told me everything about the car. He even showed me a report from DMV stating the there was nothing wrong with this car at all. Please note he did NOT include that doc in the copies of loan documents.I must admit to not reading the paperwork thoroughly. He did laughingly say, youre just signing, not reading to which I said is there a reason not to trust youWell there was a reason NOT to trust him. As he slid multiple docs right under my nose. I.e. the right to return the vehicle, there a big yellow arrow saying sign here. Once signed the doc declined your right to cancel.He also so told me about the STARGUARD, and implied that it was already installed and what it does, leaving out the fact that it was $1000 which was added to my loan. The following is from another customer who was also taken advantage of:It was not properly explained what kind of drivers assistance package I was getting, paid for inscription assumed it was included all, but no adapting cruze, no auto pilot, no surround view, and no other premium technology package is included. Please read your window sticker carefully. Many regrets paying full price for inscription and getting less than a Kia or Toyota drivers assistant package.Again did the same EXACT thing to me.I was so excited to buy this suv, my excitement was dulled after realizing the fact that Guadalupe took complete advantage of an older disabled woman.Guadelupe was very charming, and charmed me right into to buying a car that was in a prior accident. Had to bring in my Polestar 2 because a software updated was pushed that made all of the keys to my vehicle not work. I was told that they would need to keep the vehicle overnight for a software only fix, which I was fine with as long as I was provided another vehicle in the interim. The vehicle I got was a mini-van which still I was fine with until upon returning the vehicle I was slapped with bridge tolls and processing fees incurred just to take the car to the dealership, gas(FOR A MINIVAN), and an underage driver fee. When I tried to get these expenses reimbursed I was told they werent covered. The expenses associated with Polestar pushing a buggy update to my vehicle and me bringing it to this dealship to make my car usable were somehow not covered. Id stay away because theyre all great when youre buying a car but when it has issues after 6 months you dont know what will be covered.

Service equals sales, probably a motto that Volvo Cars Marin should be living by. We have been Volvo owners for a while now. We bought both our latest cars at Volvo Cars Marin, and are currently in the market to replace our oldest Volvo with a new car. The one certainty now is that we will not be replacing it with another Volvo.We have watched the service become more and more difficult to deal with over the past couple of years. At one service last year Volvo rotated my tires, but didnt inform me that two of my tires were cupped. They then sent me on my way to spend an hour each way in my commute listening to the loudest droning noise one can listen to. When I then promptly brought it back in I was told that they were badly cupped and the tires needed to be replaced. So why did it take a second visit for someone to see this, are the techs not actually paying attention during a $1500 service?Then most recently I leave a voicemail and get no response for 2.5 days. I then drive in and talk to someone since apparently I am not getting a call back and am told that a problem with my car will not be covered under warranty. The logic? If the issue was with one door, it would be covered, but since its with four doors its considered my issue. This is a problem with the car, and should be covered under warranty. They are refusing which is wonderfully bad service.You now have not only lost future service for both our cars, but you have lost future sales from two previously loyal Volvo owners. Seems like a tough way to run a business.

If you wish to buy a Volvo, this is the showroom you must avoid visiting. For me, they tried to sell a 2300 miles driven car as a new car by putting ads everywhere like it is just a 7mile driven. I visit there trusting the ad, and they gave me the same car for test drive, which I asked why it looks old and used, they said it is driven by their manager but not registered. The way the one of the senior person handled us was very unprofessional and felt very sad wasting a lot of time for nothing but being fooled. They dont even help us to know the other options, rather the senior person way acting like they have enough business with them and they dont care what we came for. Purchased from this dealership out of state on 7/31, today is 9/23 and I finally get to drive my car. Dara Sok either was unaware (which is not accepted for a salesmen selling to out of state customers) or did not tell me how difficult it is to register a vehicle out of state as they do not handle this process for out of state registrations. Of course as it was the last day of the month to meet quotas, why should he be honest? When it came to processing all my documents and signatures he was very quick and responsive. During the purchase he said how easy it is to register a vehicle out of state, so did the rest of the team, but in reality it took me 4 trips to the DMV, multiple calls, and nearly 2 months of waiting as my state requires a paper title to register the vehicle, while California is an electronic title state. Do not buy from this dealer if you want honesty, I called and emailed several times, not a single time I heard an apology, Dara did not email anything after papers were signed.The only 5/5 I can give is for the description of the vehicle. Would I buy a Volvo again? Yes. Would I buy from this dealership? Never.Even Volvo financial was extremely surprised (and apologized to me) that Dara sold me a car without communicating all the information necessary to register it in my state. I would not have purchased it if I knew it would take 2 months.Buy from these guys at your own risk, and dont expect honesty. Do all the research yourself.

Originally, I had traveled to Volvo Marin for a different vehicle entirely. I traveled an hour to Marin because I had been pleased with the service I had received thus far while searching for the right vehicle. After test driving the intended vehicle, I had reservations due to the price and quality. I began to have the thought process that I would be better off buying new, and the Volvo caught my eye. The salesperson was initially patient during the experience. After I test drove the Volvo, I knew that was the vehicle I wanted. After going through the process, I was handed the keys, and that was it, the salesperson walked away. No introduction to the new vehicle, I was left in the parking lot to discover things on my own. I got into my new $40,000 vehicle and was not only disappointed with the handoff but had absolutely no idea where anything was in the vehicle. The discomfort was anxiety provoking, and the first drive in my new Volvo almost resulted in an accident. I wish the experience had been better. I fully expected a warmer introduction into my brand-new Volvo. Instead, I was given a cold hand off. Disappointing. Very disappointing.

I took it in to Volvo of Marin as it is the closest to me. They assessed and didn’t have an immediate fix as it was a new issue that surfaced. The tech line in Sweden would not have a fix for many weeks. I was nervous because I live in the country and have to drive on country roads when I leave town and there aren’t any service stations etc.Service Advisor Bill Moakley and Volvo Service Admin Yolanda were kind and helpful to get me into a temp loaner immediately.A couple of days later...The service manager Adrian after hearing about the diagnosis took immediate action and said he would work to buy my car back with the finance manager Michael Peter and put me in touch with John Beltran the sales manager. They made me feel that their priority was to keep me safe. They made it easy for me and then the gentleman sales consultant Jesus Maldonado was impeccable with his knowledge and ease with answering all my questions on the new vehicle and was a pleasure to work with.Additionally I’d like to acknowledge the team in Burlingame where I bought the first Volvo originally. General manager Mike Krewer was wonderful and easy to work with as was Cartier the finance manager. Horrible customer service and product. I brought in my 2022 XC90 because the rear gate was opening, closing, and unlocking by itself. I was honest and told the rep I had the keys in my pocket when stepping in the water for literally 3 seconds. Apparently the whole key fob short circuted and needed replacing, $600+. I just paid $80K+ for the car and turns out they make a key fob that freaks out when it touches water. My iPhone was in my pocket and that still works just fine. Lastly, the rep discounted the fee and ended up charging $150 for the consultation when I chose not to buy a new key. Absolutely shocking!

Inept and avoid if you can. I’ve bought a lot of new cars over the past 30 years from a lot of different dealerships (including another Volvo) and this one has some of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen.I went there for a special edition car only they had. I called them initially, arranged the sale, went there and all they had to do was process the paperwork. They didn’t even test drive it with me. At purchase they offered me a promotion that I spent 3 months following up about that they didn’t even know was not offered on my car. To make matters worse the salesperson would not return a text, cell or office call. They ignored me so long I had to go to the national customer service (never happened in any other dealership/brand). All they had to do was have enough knowledge to let me know it was not offered or just call me back.Afterwards, their first response was that I’d never even filled out the paperwork (so then how’d I know about the promotion?). Their knowledge is low, customer service is poor and follow up only happens if you go over their heads. Use any other dealership!

Sales guy comes over and says you can leave now which is a first in 40 years of car buying experiences. Court of Chaos. Finally we get a lease quote and it is so bad and completely opaque that we get quotes from 3 other dealers and guess what? We were not the problem - other quotes far more transparent.

I’ve put 10k miles on it, and still have 8k debt on it. Tried to trade in and they offered me 10k, with my debt that results in 2k. They took 90% of the value off! I tried to be reasonable, but they do not care about me at all and have even lied to me about my car! They overcharged me to begin with. I expressed my concerns, they don’t care to any degree. These guys are sleezebags that just want your cash! Also, every single one of their cars are scratched. They do not know how to take care of cars, be very careful with these guys, they will drain your pockets.

If you want to see the best cars that most of us cannot afford, look no further. Volvos, Jaguars, and Land Rovers are parked here, one nicer than the other. Went in expecting to lease an xc90 today, Helen, the sales rep was awesome! Things were so pleasant and she was so friendly, until her “sales manager” John Beltran came over to answer a question about the California clean vehicle rebate. He never looked us in the eye, seemed very put off, accused us of trying to cheat California out of tax money because I was asking if they could have California mail the rebate to me instead of subtracting the amount from the price of the car, as BMW did the last time we bought a phev. Very rude all around. I got up and said “he doesn’t seem to in to this” and started to leave. He responded “he probably thinks I’m rude or something, and he doesn’t have to ever do business here”. I confirmed that I did think he was being rude, and left.Car shopping can be rough, especially as a minority shopping for luxury suv. I’ve leased 3 in a row now. This is by far the worst I have ever been disrespected by a business, period. Stay away!

This is for the service department, not sales. The bottom protective casing of the car (like a big sheet of plastic / fiberglass noise insulator) had come undone on a road trip. We brought it in for repair, and Volvo (shares shop with Land Rover) doesn’t have loaner cars. Audi, VW, and lots of other dealer shops do in Marin, so having to get a Lyft to a rental car place was an inconvenience. The repair was supposed to take a few days but a part was back ordered (not their fault, I get). After a week, I went to pick it up and en route got a text saying “your vehicle is with our quality wash team.” That was a bonus, and I was looking forward to a clean car. I arrived, paid, and the dirty car was brought around. I hadn’t expected a wash, but the fact that they said it was getting one and then to NOT have that done was a letdown. The worst was the next morning- driving up a hill, I heard the unmistakable sound of the protective casing dragging on the freeway. My husband figured out they either hadn’t used the right screws or hadn’t tightened them, and on a hot day he drove to meet me, get under the car himself, and space out the 3 (of 5) remaining screws so I could drive back to the shop without further damage. Of course, the repair shop was closed both Saturday and Sunday, so we didn’t use the car the rest of the weekend. Volvo fixed it when I brought it in Monday, but I am considering trading in my car for a different brand simply because of the awful service. A friend has a Land Rover and she too has also said the service shop is terrible, makes mistakes that she has to return so they can re-fix and also doesn’t understand why they don’t provide loaner cars.
