This place is so so much better than the big corporate theaters! It has such a lovely atmosphere, the staff are so kind, the popcorn is so tasty, the couches are so comfy, and the ticket prices are cheaper than anywhere else I’ve seen. Love this place!

I like this small theater because you can eat while watching the movie. There aren’t enough sears with tables do you need to get there early. The food is good but not a lot of variety. The beer options are good and the wine frosted (frozen wine) are excellent.

This is a great spot for a movie and some food/drinks if youd like. I love that there are tables, couches, or regular movie seats!The fries are delicious and I hear the ice cream is too but Ive always had too many fries to try it!

The portion sizes for the food is a tad small, but is high quality. I believe youre getting restaurant quality food in a movie theater, which is really good. Each chair has more space than most movie theaters and there are also tables in case you order food, which is nice.

Very rustic feeling theatre. They have couches and regular seating so it feels way more comfy than a normal theatre. You used to be able to order food from the zephyr, but that seems to have ended. Great way to see older movies as they rotate classic move nights. Highly recommend for a fun movie experience.

I had a delightful time at Vine Cinema & Alehouse! The concept of movies and ales is brilliant, and the cozy atmosphere adds to the charm. Enjoying a very good ale while watching the Oppenheimer movie on those comfortable couches made the experience even better. Its a fantastic spot for a relaxed evening out.

Its my favorite place to see a movie. I very rarely go to another theater. They play the newest films, indie films and classics so you are bound to find something to watch there. I like supporting locally owned businesses. This place though is a true gem.

We went after dinner this time, so did not get any food, just watched a movie. This movie theater is our preference. Always well maintained and very clean, bathrooms well-supplied and maintained. Employees friendly, polite, hard-working, and many specials to be had. Kenny, the owner, is always a great host, planning special fun movie nights, classic nights, parties, etc. The Vine also shows independent films not being shown anywhere else locally. They also offer live major sporting events and host Oscar nights. They offer great food and serve beer and wine which you can have in the theater. We use their loyalty program and if you buy a certain dollar amount of tickets, food, snacks youll get a free ticket. One point for every dollar you spend. Sign up for this VIP card. We did. We love the Vine! Wouldnt go anywhere else.

Really nice layout to the place, very friendly and welcoming. Sofas available in the screens and the regular seating was very comfortable as well. Great little bar on the way in with friendly staff who made us all feel very happy to be there. Well be going back again!Update: went back to watch Top Gun: Maverick - great film and the Vine hasnt lost any of its charm. Plenty of staff on hand meant it was quick to get into the screen and the picture and sound quality were excellent from our sofa seating! The popcorn was great as well 😁

Great old school theater. Food needs a lot of improvement but its a theater, so just good beer and decent popcorn is perfectly acceptable and gets the job done. Would give this place 5 stars if they had more classic movie nights. Still one of my favorite memories was pre pandemic, going to see national lampoon’s Christmas with my wife of the time, Amazing theater experience that night. The crowds for classics nights are always perfect and its still hands down the only way to see spaceballs now that I’ve experienced it like that. The couches are also 5 star worthy. They are really comfy, and honestly changes the theater experience for the better. Do yourself a favor if youre in that area and hit up a classic movie night.

We rented the whole theater out for a 10 yr old bday party. Kenny was great to work with. We got to pick what movie we wanted to watch. The concession stand was on point and affordable. Me 10 yr old had the best birthday and his friends loved it .

Great, nostalgic theater. Clean bathrooms. Kenny is always polite & greets all guests as they enter. Great variety of snacks, beverages, and food delivered from Zephyr restaurant next door for those wishing to have dinner & a show on site!Nice selection of movies, both indie and others. Cool events like Academy Awards night, classic movie night, and so on.Chairs are very comfortable, theater is well-maintained, free parking on street in front & in sides and lot in rear. Easy access to other restaurants downtown, too, so lots of eating options.Highly recommended this gem in downtown Livermore. Frequent guest card earns free tickets, too!

This is the best theater ever! Wonderful selection of food (both from the restaurant next door and also inhouse). Beer and wine selection is pretty good too. Usually have a good stout or porter on tap, which is hard to find year round elsewhere. Workers are friendly and new seating is very comfy.

Loved watching Guardians of the Galaxy im this cinema, it has super sweet sofas if you early enough to catch them, or you even get a private screening if you come middle of the week at the afternoon which is extra awesome 😎You can also have food and drinks while watching the film if you fancy as added bonus but I personally havent tried it yet

This theater has a vintage feel. Wine and beer are available. Movie screen is small so we always sit in middle rows. It has sofas for comfy seating, and small tables for food that can be bought from the theater or ordered from the adjacent restaurant. I didn’t give 5 stars because it doesn’t feel very clean. Seats seem to need upgrading. The carpet floor outside the 2 screen rooms often are dirtied with napkins and spilled popcorn. Staff are friendly.

Love coming here to see movies. The seats are few and lots of leg room for those who are tall. I like having a wine and popcorn or chocolate and ordering food and be able to sit on one of their love seats couches, or just in a chair with a side table, to make it feel more comfy feel. The employees are nice and accommodating. Very friendly people all around.

Alternative, artistic movies that are mainstream enough to be relevant. Great screens and sound. Comfortable seats and couches. Tables for food. Attentive and caring staff, without attitude. Great food and drinks. Fresh air conditioning, clean theaters and bathrooms. Theres even a comfortable lounge with bar tables, when waiting for shows to start, which are often filled with patrons chatting. Never any disruptive incidents, loud people or ringing phones, like at the large, corporate movie houses. But they often have the sound way too loud and there is only street parking.

This is such a unique movie house. My wife and I enjoy their movie selections. We sit and enjoy our glass of craft style beer and local Livermore wine. Then eat our meal while watching the flick. Its an old school venue but we enjoy the ambiance. Highly recommend it as a must do date night location.

With the big theater opening downtown this place really did an excellent job of finding a new niche market to keep open! Make sure you get there a little early to snag a couch but either way the seating area is very nice. Food and beverages are always accessible and its great to have them brought out to you while you enjoy the show.They play some great Indie films and even sporting events so theres something here for everyone.

Decades ago, this was the cheap theater you came to as a kid when you had to pay your own way. Now this place is the most unique movie going experienced I have ever had. If you decide to go up front, you have a little mini love seat for you and your date to kick back and relax while eating something tasty from the restaurant next door. You must try it at least once in your life.

The seating is a little old school (not stadium seating and the chairs do not recline) however the seats are comfortable, there are sofas available, and there are tables if you decide to eat. They have a great menu and drinks available as well. There are not always a lot of movie options, but this is a great Livermire location.

If you want to get quality movie popcorn, excellent customer service, and fancy schmancy chairs, I highly recommend the Vine. It feels great going back to the movies, and supporting local businesses. They require you to keep a mask on in the lobby, and no need whilst in the theatre, so safety is still priority!

Went to a screening of La la Land on Oscars night. Staff was dressed to the nines for the occasion. Proper selection of beer and a decent pub-style menu to choose from, but had just eaten so I had drinks only. Couches and tables in the theater were a nice touch, and we enjoyed a tasty gelato on the way out after the show. Will return next time with an empty stomach to sample the food.

Just found this Gem today. My Husband and I stumbled across it. Super cool spot to catch a movie. The staff was nice and the ambiance was really chill. The snack bar boasts tasty treats and Beer/ Wine. The Fozé Rosé was the bomb. I had four of them. Dont judge lol. Looking forward to returning.

Indie film enthusiasts unite here. Current independent films. Historic theater restored with current creature comforts you’d find in theaters now. The theater still maintains its historic and vintage charm. Ale and snacks are served here. Quaint and charming and enjoyable at comparable prices. Closer location for indie films if you live farther outside the Bay Area.

I enjoy this vintage cinema. The surrounding and glamour of old Hollywood premiers brings me back to the good old days of cinema viewing. The Vine attracts a more mature audience and does get busy quite often. I like the food selection its mostly fattening foods though like nachos, hot dogs, pizza, chicken tenders. The actual theater has standard theater seats and sofas. I like sitting in the sofa as I feel more comfortable and feels more cozy. They bring you your food order to your seat in the theater also. They also show more independent films which is a plus.

My brother rented the Vine for his 40 something Birthday. We used to go to the Vine as kids, that’s alll Livermore had. I moved away & returned 23 years later & I was glad to see it still there. I love the new concept as an ale house too. It’s a smaller venue, and has far more relaxed & comfortable seating - even Love seats if you want to snuggle with your date during the film, or put an unruly child between the two of you. They also have real tables to put your beverages, food & stuff. We loved it and the staff was awesome! Very attentive & accommodating to all of the people he invited. The Vine has definitely “adultified”, which is a nice change. I’d nearly sworn off movie theaters packed with unruly teens & sticky seats & floors. I think the industry has realized it has to make it more convenient & comfortable to attract adults back. I like the new theater in town too, with the reserved recliners. - but this was far more cozy & intimate. I tried taking my nephews to the other theater w/my Mom. We boxed in all 3 between us, but then we’re too far to just lean over a couple of kids & whisper. You have to get up & walk closer to even exchange little comments, such as who’s taking who to the bathroom or getting more popcorn- it was distracting. The Vine is awesome. Because of the different seating options, you can still communicate & not feel like you’re bothering all the rows behind you. It was an awesome experience! I would definitely recommend for date night or a birthday party. My Step-Sis rented it for her son’s b-day too. Again- totally awesome experience & I think they are super reasonable for private gigs, especially during the morning & before their first showings of whatever is playing. I love it! Great conversion & a lot of fun regardless of age. Also the food & adult beverages are definitely a nice bonus. Will be doing more with them in the future!

When the new 20-theater Livermore Cinemas was built downtown several years ago, my family was afraid this smaller local favorite wouldnt make it. Thankfully, they were able to take several steps to appeal to a different market and create a wonderful atmosphere for independent and classic movies. My whole family loves going to different events put on by this theater and enjoys ordering beer and wine and food from the neighboring restaurant that can be delivered into the theater.

Really clean and staff are super friendly. Keep in mind no internet pre-selected seats available so first come, first served (be quick and early!). Food is a little pricey but its quite good if you wanna chill out and relax with a decent meal. Limited movie selection obviously but they screen pretty well received mainstream flicks and independent productions.

Wow, what a fun joint. Its a much different feel--cozier, friendlier, more intimate--than something like an AMC dine-in theater. Feels very much like an art house theater from decades ago, so its awesome to see that people who are really passionate about movies and the neighborhood theater feel are still out there making it happen!

The Vine is an excellent Cinema and weve always enjoyed it but last night we had a bad experience. We happened to have a coupon from our real estate agent (Co-marketing between the agent and the Vine) for free tickets on the third Tuesday of the month. The person working the ticket booth refused to honor the tickets because the agent usually comes and greets the guests then we settle up later (something like that, but the ticket has no such wording). We paid for our tickets because we wanted to see the film and had already planned the evening around it. After returning to discuss again and review the coupon (which had no fine print or exclusions), she refused to address her mistake and refund/credit us the ticket price.We and our guests will likely not return to this business as the person we dealt with made us feel as if we were not valued.

My girlfriend and I have been here several times especially at Oscar season and think its the best way to enjoy a movie out of the house. Plush seating, large screen and good sound make it a fantastic movie going experience. Pizza, wine and movie for around 30 bucks makes this a great date night without breaking el banco!

I feel so fortunate to have this place to see art-house movies way out here in Livermore. The quirk of being able to have food and drink while watching the movie makes it that much more unique and enjoyable.I feel, however, that they are wasting a golden opportunity. They show only 2 to 3 movies at a time, and these same movies remain for 3 or 4 weeks before they rotate to another movie. I guess they dont want my money! I am the kind of movie lover who would go there 3 times a week if they had that many movies for me to see. As it is, I go there 3 times a month maybe because thats all there is to see. When I go, the theater is often quite empty, sometimes only a handful of people. Im afraid it could go out of business which would really be a shame because its rare to have a place to see art-house movies. And they have such a potential to fill up the theater if there were more movies to see. Perhaps they have their reasons, i.e. the cost of getting a movie to screen is high? I dont know.

The movies shown at Vine Cinema almost always feature white casts. Ive attended a few movies here over the years hoping this was just a fluke but sadly as I have checked in for movie listings from time to time I have seen it is not a fluke. I have stayed away for a long time but I would start coming again in a heartbeat if I see a more diverse presentation in cinema. Its not like there isnt high quality cinema available featuring diversity.
