Our visit today was overshadowed by concern for ailing pet. However upon arrival, and after checking in - we were greeted by Jasper, the vet tech/medical assistant, who was compassionate, yet efficient and extremely knowledgeable about the process. She was helpful in answering questions and very pleasant. She took Mango to the exam room, and shortly after, the Vet came and discussed his assessment and his treatment plan - which I really appreciate. Thank you Vet Villa, for a very compassionate and efficient visit. the entire staff which I encountered - with a very special THANK YOU to Jasper. Her compassion quelled my anxieties

Taking cats to the vet is always tough, so watching Dr. Arellano and her vet tech make my two cats comfortable during their first check-up today was wonderful. Other vet offices made my cats extremely anxious to the point they would feel ill, but the entire team here is compassionate and truly cares about their patients. My husband and I are so grateful that our cats are in good hands!

Vet Villa is great and very reasonably priced. They did not take advantage of the fact I needed to see a vet ASAP b/c of an emergency. I was able to set an appointment the same day with no extra emergency charge. Plus their normal exam rate is affordable.Not only were they very nice, but they are extremely responsive.They gave me my options and spelled out each item of possible treatment. I was in and out relatively quickly for a vet visit.It did not feel like hey just get in line and well get to you when we get to you. There wasnt a feeling of this is just about the money.Everyone was professional and was doing their jobs. Staff had a sense of urgency to get things done. This place is run very well!If youve ever felt like your vet isnt up to par or they are overcharging you I recommend trying this place!Also my dog is doing and feeling much much better! =)

We switched from an older vet with outdated opinions a few years ago and are so glad we made the switch! We dont live very close but its worth the drive! I appreciate the teams attention to detail and thoroughness. Everyone is kind and caring and treats every pet as if they were their own.

Really like vet villa for my pets. I appreciate they still offer no-contact, and drop off service actually. Ive been inside as well, very clean environment. Scheduling also within a reasonable time and doesnt have to wait too long.Having curbsidef service helps my anxious pets stress free, we dont need to wait with other dogs in the reception like other clinic do. The vet tech are beyond professional and knowledgeable. I brought my anxious dog to them for nail trim, and they able to trim all her nails without sedation first time.Trust me, i bring my dog to many groomers and no one are able to finish her nails because of her aggression with nail trims.

The staff is so kind and helpful! The front desk is really nice and the vet team is as well. Appreciate they help you figure out next steps for your pet without you feeling forced to go all out and test for everything if you cant afford it. They find a good balance to help your pet one step at a time. Also the wait is always fairly short and reasonable which i really appreciate as well. And they seem to genuinely care and want to help! I had been going to a different vet for years prior until i moved, and im shocked at how much nicer and efficient and helpful this vet clinic and staff is. They have helped my dog and cat so much and im so thankful!!!

Update: STILL love this place! ❤️ Every staff member I have encountered is very professional, patient, and polite. They also handle my little baby, Tinkerbell, with such care and compassion. Dr. Li is absolutely amazing and also understanding of my concerns. She has never dismissed me or made me feel not heard. I will recommend this facility over and over to anyone looking. :) Everything! Every part of our experience there has been amazing.------The staff here are very professional, compassionate, patient, and thorough. My little baby Tinkerbell had a cancerous mass and they have helped us both sooo much.Prepping for her surgery could have been hectic but Dr. Li walked me through every step of the way, listened to all of my concerns, and reassured me when I needed it.Procedure day: The staff came out very friendly and took my baby Tinkerbell with so much love and made her feel comfortable. They called me every step of the procedure and kept me in the loop even as her procedure was in progress. As I picked her up, the staff was still very loving and reassuring to Tinkerbell as she was coming out of her anesthesia.Post op: still dealing with some health issues but Dr. Li and her staff have called me several times to keep me updated on test results and asked how Tinkerbell is doing. :)I couldnt be happier with this place. ❤️

Like the information I receive from the Vets, I like the email communication and the curbside appointments along with the regular appointments. I have had only good experiences here and I have had miserable ones elsewhere. Especially liked the terrific help I had with the international travel certificate, it was a time crunch.

Dr Li and her staff are the finest veterinarians we have ever had. We have had dogs and cats for 40 years and only been with Vet Villa for 3 yrs and there is no comparison! Dr Li is so knowledgeable and not an alarmist. Her style is very comforting as well. The serious attention to Charlie! Charlie is 16 and could not have better care anywhere else.

Where should I begin? I have been a loyal client at this establishment with my golden retriever for the past 3 years. However, just today, when I attempted to make an appointment online for our newly rescued cat with 2 severe medical conditions, the situation turned into an incredibly frustrating ordeal. I tried to fill out the online form three times, but it wouldnt allow me to submit without attaching an image. I called the clinic 4 times for assistance, and they hung up on me twice. Instead of offering helpful guidance, such as taking down my information or suggesting I come in early the next day to fill out a form, I received repeated instructions to refresh the site and retry the form.I even offered to visit the clinic the following day with my cat to complete the form on-site and have her seen. However, they informed me that I would need to schedule a separate appointment for a different day after I complete the form in person.

So interesting. So many positive reviews. My experience is just by phone, just now. I called to see what their fees were and how they conduct business. I think my dog has a UTI and my vet is a bit farther away. I thought that if this clinic was good, I could have a vet closer to home. However, I felt the person answering was either distracted or cold. Also, there was an echo as if I were on speaker in a metal room. And after I said thank you - she just dropped the call. There was no return thank you for calling - not even a goodbye. No interest at all in getting my business. She made it seem like I needed to bend to them and jump through their hoops for them to provide paid service. Vague answers except for $75/visit and you have to sign up online before theyll even make an appointment. No walk-ins. Such a shame. I hope that all the positive reviews are worth it.

I really appreciate how efficient they are without sacrificing care or being thorough in their approach. It was also great to get a phone follow-up from the vet who treated my cat where I got to ask questions in addition to the packet of information I received when I picked him up from his tests. The front desk is also very communicative and thoughtful with little details.

Best vet that I have been to! Im very sad to be moving away from them. They always accommodated my anxious dog and would call to check in with me about her in between appointments. Communication always felt very genuine and not in the interests of money (different from other vets weve been to). I feel very comfortable leaving my pet in their care. Incredibly helpful and caring staff. I found a cat outside a grocery store left there by his owners. I took him to Vet Villa in the off chance they had an open appointment slot. At the time they did not have indoor service for customers so I was able to bring my pet to their location check in through the phone and have their tech come outside and take my cat inside for exam etc. The exam was quick and the doctor called me right away on my cell phone to go over the findings and what she wanted to do. Everything was very well explained and reasonable and they completed all of the work quickly. Check out and billing was done over the phone as well. They are family operated so I would highly recommend.

This was our first visit to Vet Villa, after our primary vet of 20 years retired. Needless to say we were a bit nervous about changing vets after such a long time but Vet Villa came highly recommended, so we booked an appointment. I cannot stress enough how pleasant the staff was to deal with right from the start. They were very informative and thorough with their information. Our appointment with the Dr. was right on time. The tech met us at our car within 2 minutes of arriving, and we had. a very short wait before the Dr. (Dr. Li) contacted us with an update on our dogs. It was one of the most thorough explanations of our dogs current condition weve ever received; she addressed all of our concerns one at a time; and never seemed rushed through the entire process. It truly couldnt have gone any better to be honest, and we were incredibly relieved to know we had found a new vet that we felt comfortable with after a 20 year run with our previous vet. I highly, highly recommend you contact Vet Villa if you are in the need of a new Vet for your beloved little family members!

We’ve been coming here for almost two years and our dog never had a consistent vet that knows or remembers him. Everyone seems to be part-time and the insane covid era curbside system they still have in place for some reason makes it even harder to track which doctor handles your pet. Same with the staff, they seem attentive but it’s never a familiar face. Last time we went was a couple weeks ago and it was a nightmare that is still not resolved. The dog was itchy since we missed a dose of nexgard and most likely needed a simple refill and a steroid shot. Instead, the doctor prescribed a $60 ointment and Cytopoint that is a $200+ injection that she claimed was “safer than steroids”. No warning about any potential side effects whatsoever. The dog had a terrible reaction to it and couldn’t keep food down since. When I called Vet Villa, the receptionist said: “Cytopoint can not have any side effects and you shouldn’t read what random people on the internet say”(incredible), suggested we went to an emergency clinic instead to trying to inform our vet. Having finally reached the vet herself, we went back in for another $200 exam and a new prescription. She of course took us seriously and was aware that he was having a reaction to the shot. He has to be on an anti-nausea meds to not vomit after eating or drinking. This stuff stays in their system for 4-8 weeks (had to look this up, no additional info from them) so we don’t know how long the treatment would be. None of this was necessary and needless to say, we are changing to an actual family operated practice after this.

Granted, today was my first visit, but I found the experience great from start to finish. I got to speak at length to the Dr. after she examined and treated my cat. Dr. Grenus took a lot of time to explain everything clearly, giving me many different treatment/diagnosis options for a condition she discovered at the appointment. She didnt make me feel rushed and was also pleasantly aware of possible financial burdens. Also, I found the pricing remarkably reasonable and the staff lovely.

Ive been anxious about bringing my elderly cat to the vet due to the complexity of his condition having been rehomed from an outdoor neglectful situation that he experienced the majority of his life. Vet villa was understanding and did a great job of communicating our options when my worst fears were realized about the reality of his condition. They did not guilt or pressure me when I had to make challenging choices about the care options I can afford at this time. Although I desperately wish Id been able to rescue this cat at a younger age so that hed qualify for affordable pet insurance I feel confident vet villa will do what they can to help ease his many ailments and bring him some peace during this last chapter of his life while respecting my unfortunate budget constraints. Great Communication helped me make the decisions despite being overcome with anxiety and emotion. The staff did not judge or belittle my emotions.

Sadly, four years later, none of those adjectives apply and in fact, they recently put one of my rescued pets in grave danger.I have spent thousands of dollars in medical care here for many of my rescues and have rarely seen the same doctor twice. They proudly tout themselves in their recording as family owned and operated but I have seen no evidence of the sort of caring consistency that would be reflected by such a claim. When I have tried to achieve some consistency of care, I have been told that the last vet I saw there was a temp or fill-in and would not be back in for some time.They routinely suggest far more tests than are necessary and have inconsistent prescription policies. Moreover, they have maintained Covid policies far longer than necessary in an effort to avoid seeing owners by having a limited number of in-person appointments. This seems like an effort to schedule as many pets as possible by having many of their appointments not be in-person. Even when you are a regular client, they refuse to see sick animals and refer you to very poorly rated emergency clinics.Last week I had an appointment for my kitten for a consultation. He ended up getting quite sick and since I had the appointment, I brought him in. I am a teacher and as I had a student problem after school, I arrived four minutes late for my appointment. I was told that I could not then have an in-person appointment, even though I have often waited for over an hour when they were running late. They took my kitten from me and even though they did not close for 1 hour and 40 minutes, refused to treat him or even make him comfortable and avoid damage by draining his bladder, as he had a serious obstruction. They told me to take him to an emergency clinic but made no effort to call an emergency clinic to see where he could be seen and sent me away with a critically ill kitten. As I left, I questioned how they could claim to care for pets and treat them this way. I spent the next 30 minutes on the phone trying to find an emergency clinic that would see my kitten quickly, as he was clearly declining fast. The clinic that I finally found, took him from my arms immediately, said he was critical and would have died in a few more hours. This was the kitten (their own patient) that Vet Villa turned away and refused to care for or even make comfortable. PJ spent four nights in an emergency hospital, incurring over $5000 in bills and suffered kidney damage that might have been avoided if Vet Villa had catheterized him before turning him away.As my rescued German shepherd has been under Vet Villas care for some time and has had intractable UTIs, she was supposed to come back in for a urine culture. Additionally, PJ needed another blood test to check his kidney values. When I called Vet Villa to make an appointment for both, as it was the most expedient way to get their tests done and since they had all of my elderly dogs records, they put me on hold for ten minutes, and then hung up on me twice. When I finally was able to speak to them, I was directed to their very rude office manager who told me that they would not see my pets, one of whom had already incurred thousands of dollars in bills at their clinic recently and was supposed to return for a final check as ongoing care.What once appeared to me a promising and caring new area business has turned out to be anything but. What a disappointment from those who are supposed to care for animals. Shameful, indeed.

I joined Vet Villa after it had just opened and was very happy to meet the owner Dr. Swimmer, a vet herself. Unfortunately over the years the business model changed and Dr. Swimmer and the vets that I was working with left. Now there is no way of building a close relationship with a vet there, because it seems they are all part time. Every single time I didnt recognize the names of the vets that are treating my dogs. In this way there was no chance to build up a relationship with a professional who I depend on with my pups. Now Ive moved on to another vet. Not recommended.

Super grateful for our new vet in LA! Dr. Li and our vet tech, Jason, were both extremely patient with my Shiba Inu, who has been struggling a lot with pretty intense anxiety since we moved to SoCal. They went above and beyond to try and make him more comfortable, and make sure he didnt have any underlying issues that mightve led to his anxiety. Vet Villas vets and vet techs are nothing short of professional and kind. They truly do look out for our dogs well-being and are detail oriented when they review his health. HOWEVER I do look at their estimates and question what is needed and what is not, however that is my personal choice and the vet will go through everything with me. I am the type of person who does ask a ton of questions, and they are happy to go into it with detail.I currently have 2 vets for our 9 year old border collie. 1 old-school vet who wont over-sell us on what our dog doesnt need, and 1 new-school vet who will itemize a $400 bill every time we visit for our dog. This is the new-school vet, but that isnt a bad thing. They did reach out to us to get his lepto and flu vaccine which our other vet did not. This is a good example of you get what you pay for. I am happy with our experience with the entire team at Vet Villa.

I have lived in the Pasadena area my whole life and Vet Villa is honestly one of the best veterinary hospitals Ive ever been to. They have all the attributes you would hope to find in a business; professional, responsive, exceptional customer and pet care, courteous, reliable and are very straightforward and take the time to break down the cost of your visit each time. I have been so impressed with their responsiveness in particular. I have emailed several times requesting refills and/or with questions, and someone would get back to me within a day. Over the holidays, I realized I had run out of my dogs prescription. I phoned and left a message requesting a refill, expecting a delay, and Dr. Rebecca Swimmer (owner and founder) herself called me that evening at 6:30 p.m. and said the refill would be left in a safe spot for me to pick up that evening. Unbelievable! This was not the first time Dr. Swimmer has called me after hours to discuss something about one of our dogs. I have had to switch vets several times in the last few years. My frustration when my pets regular doctor refuses to make room for them even in an emergency has been high. Additionally, other vets in the area often suggest expensive tests first and are difficult about providing prescriptions. Vet Villa, even during these troubling times, has been the opposite. They have thus far, always gone out of their way to respond with concern and to go out of their way to help keep the costs down while providing expert and loving care. I am very appreciative to have this animal-loving business in the community. They employ veterinarians who genuinely care for the animals and not about making a large profit. Dr Swimmer, Lauren and the whole team at Vet Villa are absolutely outstanding. The clinic is beautiful and the team really go above and beyond to take care of your pet. In our case, we were exporting our dog to Australia - which has some of the toughest import laws, restrictions, quarantine, etc - but the team were fantastic across the whole 7 month process. Every required task was done on time and in the right order with full reporting and documentation provided after each visit. They would even triple check the paperwork to make sure everything was correct. It didn’t stop there. The day before our dog was to travel to Australia, the official USDA government vet noticed an error in the paperwork (my error - not Vet Villa’s!) and not only did the team fix it immediately, they had one of their staff drive to LAX to meet me with the new documents. We have a wild and crazy boxer mix puppy, and they are very attentive to his needs, getting him into a room quickly so he doesn’t go crazy trying to meet and play with all the other dogs in the waiting room (he has no chill!). My pets have been patients of Dr Swimmer for most of their lives. She was instrumental in saving one of our dogs. My dog was under Dr Swimmers care for nearly a week. Every day I was told he was improving, every day he got worse. Finally, I was suddenly informed that Dr Swimmers hospital would no longer treat him and I either needed to euthanize him or move him, in oxygen, to a different hospital. I moved him, but by that time, between the horrible communication, delayed and inconsistent treatment, and terrible continuum of care, there was nothing that could be done. My dog died, terrified, shaking and gasping for breath, after being failed for a week by the people I paid to help him. And I heard nothing from Dr Swimmer until I left a negative review saying that no one had even called to offer condolences. Then, and only then, she called, offered condolences, and proceeded to tell me how my memory of his horrible week was flawed, and that much of the information I received was wrong. She spent a lot of time on weird details(I had written that his collar and tags were in the lost and found, which was what we were told, she insisted they were not, that they had been set aside). She sighed, angrily and loudly when I asked a question, then, when challenged on the sigh, told me she was really sad. It was a lot of gaslighting, designed to paint Dr Swimmer and her team beyond reproach, which they are most definitely not. If you choose to surrender your pet to her for treatment, please keep a very close eye on everything to make sure nothing falls through the cracks or the consequences could be heartbreaking, as they were for us. I will never get the picture of my poor, sweet, broken boy, after a week of her care, out of my head.

We were referred to Vet Villa to help get guidance on an urgent situation, after our dog was gravely injured by our regular vet. We called Vet Villa right when they opened on a Monday, and they got us in that afternoon. The care and kindness we received was really something the entire time, from the technician who greeted us and took our dog in, to Dr. Li who examined him. Mind you, this is all for a first-time client whom they’ve not had any previous relationship with.Dr. Li called us after examination and advised that we needed to see a surgeon immediately. Our regular vet injured our dog’s tail so badly, that we were being advised to get it amputated or our dog’s life could be in jeopardy. Dr. Li really went above and beyond, calling numerous surgery centers herself, right then, to find us an immediate opening. She managed to get us an appointment first thing the following morning (which led to his tail being amputated that day).We were really in a horrible and desperate situation, with a dog that means the world to us deteriorating by the hour. Dr. Li and Vet Villa made all the difference and we are eternally grateful. Vet Villa is certainly our new vet for all of our dog’s regular care.

After explaining to our vet Dr. Hand the severity of our dogs agression she suggested SSRI medications. By asking her how effective these medications are, she came to the odd conclusion that I was suggesting to euthanize my dog. After she explained the medications are not very effective, she said.. Well I wouldnt want to put him down if that is what YOU are suggesting?!. How could she think much less even say that I am suggesting to put my dog down. That is unbelievablely rude to say. Brought in my parents’ dog a few weeks ago, who is 14, after noticing a swollen mass. Dr. Swimmer did a very thorough examination, she was very gentle and caring. It was obvious from the start that she had great love for animals. The best solution was removal of the mass to make sure nothing spread to the rest of his body. When I expressed my concern about the anesthesia due to his age, Dr. Swimmer was very understanding. She explained, in great detail, about her pre surgery screening blood panel evaluation and if any concerns arose she would not go forward with the surgery. Blood tests came back fine so I went ahead and sched the surgery including a long overdue dental cleaning, since he was already under anesthesia. Glad I did since they found multiple abscesses which required teeth being removed. That explained why my parents dogs breath was kickin so bad! Surgery went fine and it has now been a few weeks and I can tell he feels much better. Dr. Swimmer and her entire staff were top notch and treated my parents’ dog as if he was their own. This is a great new facility and Im glad we came here.

And they dont try to upsell you into things you dont need or perhaps cannot afford. The facilities are clean. I have only been here twice for checkups with my dog but have been very happy each time.

I called yesterday and scheduled a 10:30am appointment and called ahead and asked if they accept my dog which they said yes . Today comes I was waiting an hour as I checked in and a lady named Ming told me that she would call me back because she had to talk to the vet to see if they could take my dog . So I waiting an hour and nobody calls me back . And tried calling back they said I missed my appointment time and rescheduled me a half hour later . Which I waited and nobody reached out to my as I sat for almost 2 hours in the parking lot . So obviously they didn’t want to take me / or my dog . First and last time to this hospital. Very unprofessional . I wish they just stated they didn’t want to take me instead of waisting our time and letting my dog suffer

COVID- safe drop offs of pets. I brought my kitty in for weirdo behavior and while other vets just told me to put her on Prozac forever, Vet Villa wanted to figure out what is causing her behavior. One of the factors was that the stray cat that I thought was her boyfriend was actually harassing and intimidating her. Another big part of it was that she had 2 teeth that were causing her pain and needed to come out. After her surgery, the medication upset her stomach for days and they saw us, helped us, and gave her additional supplies and medication without charging me. They also answered my emails or called me when they were closed. Really good people. I will use this vet forever.

Im such a fan of this place that Im sticking with them even though I moved out of the area. The vets here are caring and compassionate, unlike two other places Ive tried in the area where I felt like they were rushed with too many patients, or other places were always trying to upsell me. Here, I brought my cat in for a dental exam (tooth cleaning and scaling) and x-rays (and elevated liver ALT numbers from mouth disease which spread) showed that she needed several extractions. I was worried about the general anesthetia, but they have the most modern equipment, and they were super-careful with keeping her comfortable and monitoring her during and after the procedure. My cats recovery was quick, and she was back to her old self in 2 days. And price was reasonable too! I cant speak highly enough of them.

Came here for a drive-thru vaccine clinic, and they stopped having them before it was time for our dog’s second dose. (They also never told us it was required; found out on our own.) We had been to 3 vets before we came here. The care provided here far outshines any of the others we saw before.While we did lose Lily due to feline leukemia, it was Dr. Swimmer who noticed the signs and recognized the illness as well as recommended checking her into the hospital. I wish we had came here first, as we may still have our kitten, unfortunately, we didnt. If I could rate a place beyond 5 stars, this would be one of them.

Our Vet Crown City closed down due to Covid-19 restrictions and all our local vets werent taking new patients. One of the higher rated vets on Nextdoor referred us to Vet Villa and we couldnt be happier. They are very professional... follow strict covid protocols and are easy to with with over the phone. The reason I am giving this rating a 2 star is because of the amount of money I paid for meds when I had to bring my cat back twice because they could not tell me what was wrong and the $50 eye ointment that is a 2-3 inch tube was not helping.Dr. Swimmer is very nice, took the time to see my cat, but could not come to determination what exactly to do next so she prescribed a medication that smells like Vanilla, which of course my cat hated. He has been throwing it up, there goes $90 for a 3 oz bottle.I feel very frustrated that it has been over a week and he has gotten worse. The E collar was $17 for a plastic piece so he does not rub his eye has come off 3 times due to its lack of support. A simple eye problem has turned into an almost $300 bill that my normal vet who just came back from vacation today could have easily most likely resolved with a shot of medication and better form of eye ointment that he has prescribed before.I feel this vet charges WAY too much for medications and sorry to say, will not be back.

Staff needs to improve telephone skills....they are very unprofessional & dont make one feel welcomed at all with the tone they use over the phone like we are a bother to them (smh)...was going to schedule a 1st time appt for my 3 orphaned puppies but not after speaking with whoever they have answering the phones. Overall the worst place to go. They made me wait 20 minutes to let me know my dog was very ill without even seeing him. The assistant didn’t even come out to tell me instead she send the receptionist! Very unprofessional!!!! And to top it off they stated that my dog needed to be hospitalized but not there.
