Between visits this resort is run by a manager Jim unwilling to take responsibility for the low level maintenance provided by its employees for many years looks great but they dont speak English and ate not certified in any high voltage electric work. The mis communication between sister locations is a huge disappointment from a corporate level and the security runs around with no security shirts and sleeps in the gym or Ive seem him using the gym after hours. I can keep going on issues but the residents are intimidated by management to complain due to the fact that Jim will kick them out if presented with an conflict

Stayed here a couple months ago. Jim always avoids any conversations and tries to bully but is small and easily angered. He says he is in meetings alll the time lol. His meetings are more important than calling back guests. He is tries to bully bc he is insecure. Can not have respectful conversations. Jim is a bully as the other reviews say. Jim is also bullied which is just ironic. There is always someone more scary eh Jim. Jim needs to learn * Emotional intelligence*

Ive been here for a month now and the staff is friendly, the place is well maintained and I just had an opportunity to enjoy there taco Tuesday night. I would recommend this place to anyone.

It was great staying here. Loved the people. 99% of the employees were great. Unfortunately the manager Jim put me on the do not rent list because my RV isnt 10 years old or newer and he said it made his park look trashy and run down which I thought was pretty rude and blunt for it being my one and only interaction with the man (I was literally in the process of buying one so that I could apply to stay long term 😔) They are currently in the process of displacing dozens of families because their RVs are 2012 or older even though the people are in compliance with every Rule and have made on time rent payments for years without complaints. If you have a newer model RV, youll be accepted, no questions asked, quite literally.

We stayed here for 1 week. Not very big rig friendly as it was VERY tight getting in and out.Lots of locals living here in old trailers which gave the appearance of a junky trailer park.

I cant say enough good things about this RV Park, The Vacationer was one of those places we booked for 6 months to try it out and stayed permanently, thats how much we like it. Besides the constant renovation efforts, the cleaning up is also daily, always improving the landscape, spaces, lightings, the park has a management that responds immediately to the tenants needs. Jim Nicolete is the star of this business, since day one we felt at home, he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our space, relocated us to a better spot, but most importantly, since we are an LGBT couple that has been together for 16 years, we never once had any attitude or comment from him that made us feel less equal or different, quite the opposite, me and my husband feel special every day living here. We were very lucky to have chosen this place to call home. Havent even mentioned the big pool with a gazebo and a bbq place, the SPA with clean hot bubbles and the pool table in the party/conference room. All the other workers deserved a mention in this post but I am going to praise Adriana, which is the right arm of Jim, perfect since day one. Well, I told you I couldnt say enough good things...

We are very lucky to be here at the Vacationer. Adriana gave us an awesome deal!! Affordable, clean and friendly atmosphere. I like that it is quiet and near everything. The pool area is very nice. Work out area/ common area very clean. Only 20 minutes from San Diego!! We moved here from Texas and thanks again for making us feel welcome. 👍😊

Husband and I have been here going on 3 months and it’s a great place to be! Beautiful, clean, and comfortable! Adrianna in the office is amazing! Super helpful and sweet! They host bbq often, and Jim’s burgers are to die for! Literally has grilled onions and all the fixings! You’ve got to have one of those burgers if you stay! So glad we found this place for our stay!

My wife and I are both active duty military and in the process of building our home. So we’ve been full time for a year or so. Our first month in San Diego we stayed at San Diego RV Resort, a little too pricey for our liking but a nice park. We have been here for 6 months and have to move for two days and are coming back. If you have the opportunity work with Adrianna at the front desk she is truly an amazing person and great customer service, she is quick in getting answers back to you and will work on booking other stays at there other locations and then book your next stay. She is amazing and takes a lot of stress off of my family. Vacationer RV resort is a hidden gem, yes you do get the interstate noise, and some full timers here aren’t social but that’s okay. The park is clean, the pool is heated, and jacuzzi is hot! They do have laundry on site pay by card, but we do our laundry offsite it’s just faster. It is centrally located so very quick access to anywhere in San Diego. Would recommend for short or full time stay. If you have a large RV they do have pull throughs but it will be tight turns. We have a 43ft RV and it is nerve racking taking turns in the park. Okay

After having a great time RVing up in the snow at TT Oakzanita, I had a 1 day window to come off the mountain between storms, but I had no place to stay. I saw Vacationers RV Resort from the Hwy and it looked nice. So, I called and spoke with Maggie, who was a doll. She was able to get me a spot for the night AND even applied a current promo discount to my rate. If I didnt have pressing plans, I would have stayed longer. I also loved that there is an Albertsons market nearby, as well as, several public laundromats. I mentioned that because my only constructive criticism is that the price of their on-site laundry is very high - $5 wash + $5 dryer...way too steep for my budget.

Clean. Staff nice. We rented a more expensive space and glad we did. Some of the back in sites are beat up. Pool and spa very nice and clean. Pretty booked up but all the people are quiet and respectful. Worked as good location while visiting family. Not a luxury place but pretty good for our stay. Close to grocery and freeway.

Staying here for a month, visiting family nearby. I am disappointed with the dog park, it smells terrible and looks like a big cat litter box. On a positive note, the pool area is very nice and the grounds are well maintained. I wish the spaces were a bit bigger to accommodate our 38ft 5th wheel.

Stayed in the Park a few weeks, and really enjoyed how well maintain the property looks, it has changed a lot since the last time we were here, usually come here for work and we always stay with Sunland. As soon as you call, you are greeted and treated very well by the front desk receptionist Ilda who was very friendly and cordial, also the maintenance team help me a few times with my electrical issues and the cleaning lady Gloria was very friendly!.

I stayed there for a month and a half while waiting for my new home and would again without a doubt. Well maintained and a great staff who work with and assist you whenever you need. Mostly extended-stay guests and everyone seems nice and respectful. One short block from Albertsons and right down the street from downtown El Cajon.Security is great. 24-hour locked gates, fenced all around and a security guard works the park from when the office closes until it opens the next morning. And I wouldnt take that as a high crime area, but rather to keep homeless people from moving into the park.There are only two negatives and both can be dealt with: some sites are pretty tight and the back row abut the freeway. Just ask to be toward the center or front and be careful which site you select and youll be good to go.

My husband, daughter and I spent 6 months at this park and loved it there . The bathrooms are clean, the people are friendly and the club room and pool are great ! All of our neighbors were awesome. Front office staff are super helpful and always throwing little BBQs by the pool with free food and drinks. Were going to miss it here so much and we hope to be able to come back soon! 10/10 would reccomend.

Great experience! Everyone on staff including the maintenance staff are super nice. It was my first experience living in a camper long term and they made it well worth it. Free Wi-Fi, cable and water. Loved having the pool, hot tub, and laundry mat on site. If I had more time I would have utilized the pool table and work out equipment in the club house but when our has ran out on the night of thanksgiving we where grateful to use the oven in the clubhouse. Park is kept clean and when our water pipe busted they fixed it same day and got us running again within the hour. Park is quiet at night and never had any problems with people living there. Overall good experience and would recommend highly!! Thank you guys for being so accommodating to us!!

A decent place enjoyed my overall stay except for when I finally left. They keep your deposit no matter what and say it was because of electricity. Even though they show proof on how much you have used. They will take your deposit and give any excuse they can. Make sure they show you proof on your electricity you have truly used.

We recently stayed at Vacationer RV and I was very impressed by how beautiful the park is. As soon as you enter, theres beautiful season flowers. The pool is heated and very clean. BBQ areas available. A decent size dog park, and very clean bathrooms and showers. The Office receptionist Ilda was very nice and helpful in giving us directions and ideas on how to enjoy our San Diego Vacation. You can tell she is local because she directed us to very good restaurants in the area. Truly recommend this park very calm and centrally Locatel.

Have to say this was the tightest park we have ever been in, and we travel a lot. The first space they gave us was impossible to back into. Just barely made it into the new space with multiple jockeying around. If you have a long pull trailer like us (32) dont bother, not worth the stress. The pool looked nice, didnt use the WiFi.

Would not recommend!Rates have increased nearly 20% in the last year (yes, I’m a long term resident). No noticeable improvements have been made.If you are looking for a quiet and carefree RV site, here you are met with almost daily trash truck pickup and noisy leaf / dust blowers for hours (don’t bother trying to keep your vehicle or rig / RV clean with an incessant dusting). The entire park endured 2+ weeks of tree trimming noise.The Clubhouse is dated and for nearly 2 years, no usable pool sticks. Although they advertise “FREE PARKING”, no visitor parking within the park is available.Management is reactive versus proactive. There have been numerous water outages without any urgency to restore supply nor notify patrons (I now keep the water tank full).Be sure to write down the electric meter reading when you arrive. Not confirmed but, there is talk within the park about meter reading inconsistencies.Sunland has 3 sites in the San Diego area and are managed similarly.

A very clean & well run RV park. The pool area is very nice & well kept. Weve only neen here for 2 weeks but they have sponsored 2 barbeques already. A nice friendly, well run park. Most guests are semi-permanent like we are but that keeps move-ins & move-outs to a minimum.

Great promo happening until December: purchase 6 nights get 25% off regular price (use STAYMORE25). The discount made it worth it, but w/o the it, I wouldve felt cheated. Great amenities, club house, laundry, bbq, billiards, pool, jacuzzi, mail box rental, and kitchen to use. The 🐜ants are out of control. There are large single shower stalls that are public with see-thru curtains in 2 restroom facilities. There is internet that will constantly drop unless youre holding your phone up in the air. Our Roku TV couldnt connect at least 3 of our 6 days there. The cable TV connection providers 25-30 channels of very fuzzy, blurry programming (like old school UHF antennas). But there are full hookups and friendly staff.

I have nothing but good things to say about VA RV Resort. I have been here for 7 months now and the staff are super friendly. Rent includes free water, sewer, cable, and wifi. All you pay for it electricity. The rates are great and they fill propane on site and bill it your account for a user friendly experience. 10/10 would recommend.

No vans allowed. Says rig has to be self contained however my setup is but still no even though I saw a homemade box on a truck bed there. Company owns most parks in area so if you drive anything but a 5 wheel or half mil rv forget it and go to the KOA 15 minutes away.

Over all nice place to park your RV for less than month at a time. There are some issues with permanent residents, this resort allows people to stay there that were caught steeling from other people residing there. Many things are run down and need restoration. Children riding bikes and other things with wheels ride on the same roads that the RVs use. And the electric bills given to the tenants are 3 to 4 times higher than they should be.

The RVs are packed in tight here. We were pulling a very small tow car and it barely had Room between us and our neighbor to get it in there. The site we had was convenient to the restrooms, dumpster and the dog park but we were also backed right up to the freeway with no barrier wall and the noise 24 hours A-day is deafening! The razor wire on top of the fence was a nice touch and Ill admit we didnt see anyone coming into the park by coming over the fence. The electrical hookups boxes were pretty beat up but still worked. The advertised cable TV was a small cable box that you screwed into your RVs coaxial connector than a HDMI from same box to TV and suppose to work without ever hooking it to a park connection.....really?......didnt work so I returned it and used the antennae on the RV. No instructions of how hookup to the free internet, was suppose to call back when her guest left the office but never did. The trees are in dire need of trimming because they hang down to within 8 feet of the ground and had to be avoided. People working on cars, doing an oil change on a motorcycle, using broken down cars as a shed. The positives were the woman in the front office was very nice as was the maintenance guy working the park. Also they have a small pool and hot tub and they looked well maintained. It was gated but did witness extra vehicles entering once the gate was opened. We were grateful that we were able to park and have hookups but this place needs some love put back into it.

Spaces are quiet small...we are leaving pretty soon...you are really close to your neighbor. The office management is friendly but ever since COVID started they dont allow you to walk into the office so if I want propane or want to tell them I am traveling; email is best because their phones never get answered.

Horribly grimey things happening at this park. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PARK FOR VACATION OR LONG TERM STAY. Your rent and parking rent will go up and up the longer you stay, and they even took away capabilities of using your own internet service provider. On the 25th they shut off all other isp and put tengo internet in place which max will get you 5 mgbs for $45 a month. Meaning you will take at the very least 2 minutes (timed) to open up any web page. It is not even comparable to satellite internet. They find any way to pinch every penny they can at this park to the point of making it not even a feasible place to live. I got more internet out in the dessert in agua caliente than I am now getting and my own place of residence. Do not choose this park even for vacationing. There is nothing around to go see or do, it’s situated right in the ghetto of El Cajon. There is no reason for vacationing here, and now there is no reason to live here long term. Absolutely disgusting.

The park is in a good location in regard to ease of accessing the freeway. There are a lot of long term tenants in the park who have accumulated a lot of stuff in their spaces. The rules do not seem to pertain to the long term tenants. We were there for three months and had issues with long term tenants parking in the space we paid for, as well as trash and food waste thrown outside from the same tenant. We had to pick up their trash and food debris on a daily basis as well as before we could move and leave the park. The staff are friendly and willing to help but are unable to enforce some of the rules. There is a laundry room but the majority of the washers and dryers were broken for the duration of our stay. The roads are very narrow and hard to navigate due to a lot of cars being parked on the roads. There is a gate to get into the park and a key code you must have to enter. However, on numerous occasions there were different delivery drivers and random people accessing the park. One evening a police chopper flew overhead at about 2 am and they were looking for a tenant of the park. Two days later the same tenant was in the park. This park is overpriced for what it is and needs a lot of rules to be enforced. We have stayed at a Sunland park in Hemet and we had the same expectations going to another Sunlad. This park was far below what I would consider a standard for any Rv park. I give this park two stars but that is simply based on geographic location and friendliness of the staff.

I have been working for Vacationer RV for a few months now and I love the community they have here. The guests are all very nice and my associates are very easy and friendly to work with. Vacationer RV is part of the Sunland Family and they have several resorts around the San Diego and Riverside area, what I like the most about the resort is the amazing poeple I am able to meet while working. The property is clean, they have maintenence and housekeeping on site 7 days a week and Security at night also 7 days a week. This is a family resort so we get poeple from all ages. On Saturdays, (not every saturday) sometimes the company provides special surprises for guests, such as bbqs, ice cream day at the pool, or even movie day for the kids at the club house.

What a terrible place lots and lots of cockroaches, people motivated by illegal substances and the management staff woefully ill prepared to facilitate anything. For a facility this large you would expect to see more than two groundsman. And the water that is there existing has some interesting properties to it Im surprised the health department has not shut down all five of the principles RV resorts I do not believe one is better maintained than any of the other four.

Hidden Gem in San Diego, Vacationer RV is a small but very confortable park. The staff is Great, Ilda the receptionist went above and beyond and Jim the manager upgraded my site to be by the Pool side. When we departed we were given a travel bag full of Goddies for out trip. Will definately recommend very clean and close to San Diego attractions.

Pros- CheapCons- completely ant infestedcant have a conversation outside because the bordering freeway is too loud (also can barely sleep over the sound of the freeway all night)clubhouse has BUGS and RATSinternet only works in clubhouseCramped parking spots (no visitor parking)The power has been out at least a week. There is no air conditioning and temperatures are 110 degrees plus. The management refuses to take responsibility. We had to pay to stay elsewhere because of the heat dangers and manager just said that it was not his problem.They refused to reimburse us even though its completely dysfunctional. I am surprised that place has not been shut down.Could NOT pay me to stay there again.This RV park is a PIT FROM HELL.

The facilities and grounds were very clean, and the staff was nice, friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and recommend this resort to my friends. Best RV Park in the Area. Rates are reasonable, free cable tv, free water, and great service. They have a clubhouse with a full kitchen, tv area and pool table. Outside of there is a meticulously maintained pool with showers and bathrooms. The spots vary. So pick the one that fits your RV. Easy access to the freeway and shopping. Just ask the front desk. The staff is very nice. Location is the only this that brings it down a little bit. Otherwise, its perfect.

UPDATE about a year ago travelling between RV parks I stayed at the sunland rv which is located in La Mesa off Alvarado rd. To my surprise or delight....the previous managememt had been dismissed (in which i had previously experienced horrible service) and I was met with a new much better manager for that property who was dedicated to providing better service. She informed me that I should have a second visit to the Vacationer because her best friend was the new manager there and that the previous manager was terminated due to similar complaints. So I never actually made it back but I do hope that they are still running with good management. Running these parks cant be an easy job at all.

Our boat was broken into in the back storage lot. We have been double-charged on our electricity . Stop told us to call SD G&E but SD genie said they cant do anything about the charges since the account is in vacationer RV parks name. Our boat was broken into and live to in for over a week by Tweakers and no one not even the security guard noticed. Park is full of tweakers and our boat door was ripped off and ransacked.

We stayed here for a month and wasnt impressed....way over priced and its more of a permanent place to live than an RV Resort...the activities center around the permanent tenants with lots of drinking including some minors...just wasnt like any Resort we have stayed i dont recommend this rv resort look elsewhere
