We have worked with Pamela and Urbanism Designs on a number of projects since 2017, from partial interior decorating (living room, bedroom, etc.) to a more significant recent remodeling of our kitchen and bathrooms. We appreciated the way Pamela sourced and recommended potentially interesting pieces and choices while being mindful of our tastes and general stated requirements. We also appreciated the iterative nature of the collaboration, as well as Pamela’s great taste, eye for contemporary design, and her keeping in mind the rooms’ desired functionality (especially for families with kids). Furthermore, her collaborators (structural engineers and contractors) have done a great job and our home has undergone a significant upgrade as a result.As Urbanism Designs has undertaken more substantial, time-consuming projects, we are grateful to have had the chance to continue collaborating with Pamela and recommend her unreservedly.

Pamela of Urbanism Designs is one of the most talented designers we have had the good fortune to work with. We first met with Pamela in January of 2020 as our new home construction kicked into high gear. We knew right away after our first meeting that Pamela was a good fit for us based on her positive attitude, transparency, her willingness to collaborate with everyone and her design sensibilities.Pamela basically had a 6400 square foot home as a blank slate and helped furnish every room. Early on in the process I shared my vision of how I imagined each space might be used and shared some images of contemporary furnishings, and that was enough for her to get the ball rolling.Pamela was amazing at pulling furnishings together on slides for me and my husband to review, and she really paid attention to every detail. If there were pieces we weren’t totally in love with, she was quick to swap them out until we were completely satisfied, with no ego involved. There were a few furnishings that I wouldn’t have chosen myself that have turned out to be my absolute favorites, specifically, outdoor rocking chairs, which I now bring indoors if I need more seating on movie nights. They are seriously the best!Pamela came to every meeting prepared with swatches and endless images of each room, down to lamps, decor items, towels, sheets, etc….She also presented us with ideas for our outside furnishings and the pool cabana/ADU. She created spreadsheets detailing every item we were ordering, cost, date of expected delivery, and quite often she would be the one receiving the delivery if we were unable to be there ourselves.Pamela was present on move-in day December of 2021, to make sure each rug was placed in the proper room, the furniture was placed correctly, the mirrors were hung at the correct height, and that nothing arrived damaged. On the rare occasion when something was dinged or did not arrive in perfect condition, Pamela was right there to help rectify the situation. She literally held our hands from the beginning to the end.Pamela helped us get through what seemed to me an overwhelming job, and turned the experience into a well organized, methodical, collaborative, joyful project, and we are so pleased with every aspect of our journey. The icing on the cake is that Pamela is a great human being and a joy to work with. She will always be our go-to designer!

Working with Pamela and Erwin on our Eichler house renovation project during the COVID-19 pandemic was a seamless and efficient experience. We started our home project with nothing more than a rough idea of what things were important to us. We wanted clean lines, modern yet still warm and livable, neutral & timeless. I met Pam, and on the spot, knew she was the right person to work with.Pam asked all the right questions and listened to what we wanted in our dream home. She completely understood our vision, thought of every little detail, and didn’t overlook any aspect of the project that we felt was important. The level of detail and thoroughness when it came to how the spaces were designed really showed Pam and Erwin’s level of expertise. Pam and Erwin had our dreams, vision, and best interest in mind.From the initial space planning for the kitchen and master bathroom, the layout of slabs, tile and cabinetry, selection of all the finish materials, colors, fixtures and hardware, they were very professional to work with. Details matter to us, and their attention to detail is apparent in our finished home.They referred excellent vendors and suggested the best, high end and quality finishes and materials. Most importantly, Pam and Erwin’s work ethics are unbeatable, and they made sure we got everything we wanted on our checklist. From start to finish, the design process went smoothly, and the meetings and discussions were fun and productive.We gave them the creative freedom and trusted their design process and vision and our kitchen and bathroom remodel designs are masterpieces.We were so pleased with the quality of their work that we asked for Pam’s help to furnish our house. Every room was beautifully designed with an understated sense of elegance and in tune with the architecture and surroundings.Pam’s sense of style and her vision has positively impacted our quality of life as we enjoy her work every day. Pamela is an awesome designer to work with - has an incredible eye, is full of good ideas, is organized, detailed and responsive. She helped us concept out our kitchen remodel, worked with us through various ideas, has connections to suppliers and also referred a contractor team to work with, all of whom were great and collaborative to work with. Pamela made a daunting project that much more manageable and smooth. Best of all, we now have a renovated kitchen that is perfectly functional and looks amazing.

I cant say enough awesome things about Pamelas work. She has a keen eye for clean, modern contemporary lines, has a clear end vision, is uber responsive, and has simplified our remodeling process, making it really pleasant and smooth. We found trying to do it ourselves in the past was disastrous because there are SO many different choices at showrooms. While we thought we knew what we liked, having that many choices and not knowing how theyd all come together took a lot of time and was really stressful. Working with Pamela made everything so simple and effective, it took out the second guessing we had of ourselves and saved us a ton of time in figuring out what things went with what because she already knows what will work and what wont work. Through our remodel she gave us recommendations/options we would never have known to consider and they were beautiful choices. Shes the reason we look at our home and smile at what it is now versus where it was.We once interacted with an architect/design person in the past who sent us a list of fixtures that totaled 35k, which is ridiculous for just fixtures and he had no regard of being practical or thoughtful of our budget. Pamela was very different-she was able to source beautiful items that were much more realistic in budget.I also really appreciate how Pamela shares her opinion with you. Before choosing Pamela, we interviewed previous designers who would just say, its up to you when asking for an opinion Err....the reason why I need a designer is because I dont have a clue, I am looking to you for an opinion. Pamelas approach in providing her opinion was a perfect balance of her confidence in the things she recommended while being patient with our questions.I am extremely grateful to have crossed paths with Pamela and Urbanism Designs. You wont go wrong going with them and you will have a beautiful outcome!!

We had the privilege of working with Pamela on multiple projects over the past two years, starting with the interior design and fixture / finish selection on a ~1800 sq ft addition to our primary home in San Francisco.Pamela was truly a delight to work with, always responsive, thoughtful and proactive. She quickly learned the (not always similar) preferences my wife and I had and also (always appropriately and professionally) pushed us to consider things outside our “comfort zone”.She was always thinking ahead re details and finishes and kept us organized even when the rest of the project and vendors not in her scope were less organized… as we worked, mostly remotely, through COVID.Pamela had a terrific eye for colors and textures and helped tie the new addition smoothly into our existing 3000 sq ft. She was also respectful of budget and given her business model we felt aligned to balance quality, aesthetics, uniqueness, budget (and lead times..) on every item.We are thrilled with the end result and would strongly recommend Urbanism. In fact, we have subsequently sought Pamela’s help on our second home, a small office for our business and currently, a “special” interior project (details to come).Thank you Pamela!

We met and hired Pam just before the pandemic hit and started renovations two months into shelter in place. Overwhelming was an understatement but Pam was there through the whole process and Im so happy that we chose her to be our designer. I dont know if we wouldve survived pandemic renovation without her help. It was so easy and seamless and we just worked together so well. It does help that she and I are on the same wavelength and that she can read my mind :) We really enjoyed working with her so much. I appreciated her knowledge in Eichler homes because she was able to provide us with solutions that worked well and was cost saving. Thank you, Pam and Erwin! We miss working with you!

My family and I relocated from New York City to San Jose this past summer and I hired Pamela to completely furnish our new, contemporary farmhouse style home. Coming from a small pre-war house in Queens, we had no suitable furnishings and basically had to start from scratch. Pamela was a lifesaver!My work with Pamela began immediately following an initial site visit in February. Right away I knew that she was the perfect fit for the project. She earned my trust instantly. Pamela is the real deal: professional, thoughtful, thorough, and supremely talented.What I appreciate most about Pamela is her work ethic. She is very organized and keeps progress moving. Her design services are fluid and flexible. She brings you along on a collaborative process that is always on point and really enjoyable. Pamela is, in a word, accessible. I never knew how many clients or projects she had going on, because it never mattered to me. She always provided immediate personal attention for action items small and large. Our project spanned the length of this year. Beginning with the idea and design phase conducted long distance, to a full furnishing procurement phase for each room in our home, and finally placement and finishing touches. My husband and I bought our first house, leaving city life for the suburbs. We found ourselves with a much bigger home that needed some remodeling, complete furnishing and a lot of personalization. I was intrigued by Pamelas story of working at Google and then finding her passion in interior design, and her aesthetic really resonated with me. I had never worked with an interior designer or invested heavily in a space, but I really wanted to do this home the right way. I loved Pamela from the first time I spoke with her. Shes kind, honest, dedicated, transparent, has great communication, listens closely and is extremely efficient and detail-oriented. Over the past year we have furnished every room of a 3300 sq ft house together and remodeled two bathrooms and a kitchen. I consult her on EVERY decision because she saves me from making mistakes and is often able to guide me towards items that I never would have found and are far more interesting and often more cost-effective than what I would have chosen on my own. You would think that over a year-long project I at some point would feel frustration or disappointment or something negative, but I havent. She has helped us create a house that suits the reality of our lifestyle with a small child, but that feels warm and beautiful and perfect for us. I would never hire anyone else!
