Don’t waste your time trying to sell your used clothes or even new clothes here. For 5 items I was offered only $100. I took a pair of Jordan 4 black cats in a near perfect condition and they offer me less than 50 bucks for them, while they are selling some old Jordan 1 mid for over $100. I am very disappointed of this store. I honestly believed that they would offer more since they sell items over 700+

Totally inconsistent buyer behavior. I had to deal with a young guy who had very different taste in fashion and was buying things he personally liked, apparently...grunge/rocker style. what a waste of my time -- other times I have sold here there were purchases even though I got next to nothing for it, it made up for the time I spent driving all the way to torrance on my day off. shame but I doubt I will be selling my pieces here again, which are actually nice and LIKE NEW. knowing this i wouldnt even waste my time perusing their aisles anymore...just go to cross roads. a little tip to the owner: let your male employees buy for men and and let women buy for women.

This place is magical ✨️. If you are looking for an escape to wonderland this is your place. Uptown Cheapskate Torrance has something for everyones taste in fashion. You can be YOU and find a bunch of pieces that will make you feel like a superstar. I bought some beautiful vintage rings, a pair of AV jeans, and a crop top priced at an additional forty percent off. I was so pleased with my experience, I ended up leaving my cellphone at the store by accident but I was able to find it and left HAPPY. Tomorrow I am going there again to shop for Mothers Day!!!

The options are super cool and you’ll find really stylish clothes my only complaint is that they are not size inclusive like at all. They have a few section for m-3xl but when looking for bottoms there was literally an entire row of s/xs with m-3xl taking up the one next to it. Honestly I’d say sizes small and x small take up 75% of the store which if you fit in those sizes that’s great! I recommend you go there but if you got a lil junk in the trunk and you’re a thick mama/papá it’s not worth the visit unless you’re looking for shoes

Very well organized, by colors, size, and pieces. The racks feel waxed and make it very easy to go through and see each piece (plus no metal screeching). It’s nice to see the brand transparency, which are visibly labeled on the price tags. There are some cool finds if you look thoroughly, but be prepared to see a LOT of low quality fast fashion brands like Shein and Cider. Overall worth a visit!

My go to thrift shop. They always have amazing options and their prices are entirely reasonable and what we seek to find when thrifting. These days walking I tot goodwill or Salvation Army I’m unsure who they think they are charging what they do. I always leave Uptown Cheapskate feeling like I scored a killer piece and have added up leveled my vibe. Definitely check it out for everyday items and events outfits. You won’t be disappointed.

I love this store so much and its usually our first stop when we come to town from Las vegas however when we came yesterday the store had a very strong smell of cologne or something and it was overwhelming I could hardly stand being in the store. An employee told me when I checked out the smell was a new diffuser the were using. Please use a lighter scent next time. I would have loved to spend more time shopping but the smell was just too strong.

Buyers are inconsistent with their standards. Sometimes I will leave with $100+ and sometimes I will leave with $20 bringing the same kind of stuff in the same sizes. My next experiment I want to try is bringing the same bag of clothes over while the nice staff is there. My tip is go when the nice staff are there if you are planning on selling!

Service: I came around 4pm to do some selling of clothes. I read a lot of mixed reviews why they are not consistent with their pricing when you do sell. They buy according to what is the need of the store. Some items will be priced very high, some wont even take in. If its busy, they probably wont let you do more than one bag, if catch them when its slow, then they might take on more. Just depends how many customers are in the store.Selection: when I go shopping there as a male, i look for jackets, sports gear and shoes. Decent amount of things to look for.Value: I got more value than i thought, because this season in Feb 24, my jackets were my main items that got me the most money.Parking lot in the back for more space.

This thrift store had a great selection of clothing, shoes, and accessories available. The store was clean and organized and the staff were very friendly. Items are reasonably priced and desirable for a younger crowd. I bought a cute red top and my new favorite bikini, and emerald green two piece.

I definitely made a mistake trying to sell clothes here. After dropping my clothes off I was told the wait was 30 minutes. 2 hours of waiting and not receiving a text I finally went in store and waited another 40 minutes before I decided to say something. All of the workers acted clueless, said none of them remembered my name or going through my bag of clothes. The guy going through the register then told me “they passed on everything”. My bag had 30+ items from brandy mellville, Nike, zara ect (all brands stated on the website they take and sell.) I also myself was shopping through these sectioned brands of the clothing i had brought into the store. Overall super dissapointed and won’t be back :/

I went there a couple of months ago. I knew the prices of the clothes/shoes that I wanted to sell. I didnt want to go in there blind and get ripped off. I went in and right away one male employee seemed excited about a size 11 Hello Kitty High Top converse (brand new $155 and up). As he went though my items he was showing the shoes to other employees. So of course they took the shoes and a pair of Levis, and some shirts that was new worth $45 each. They gave me their offer $35 dollars. Before I could tell him my answer. He also asked me if i wanted to donate the other clothes. I told him no and I dont expect his offer. I knew he wanted those shoes and could see the disappointment on his face when i said no. I even showed him how much the shoes and shirts were online. I told him give me all my stuff back, as he was packing it up with aggression, he told me,You wont get a better price for these items. I guess it was his greed that they lost a customer. I did get that piece for my shoes some where else. Shame on them for trying to rip people off.

Ive bought from here before, they dont authenticate anything with the manufacturer, they use an authentication service, but I got a fair price for some nice sunglasses about a year ago and met a very friendly and helpful member of staff who was very knowledgeable about fashion. Had a great experience.This time, unfortunately, I brought some clothes to sell and they gave me an insultingly low offer of less than 10% of used resale value. I thought they would at least give me 30%. Multiple staff were impatient with me and incapable of making eye contact, and I noticed on my lighter clothes there was now dirt or grease on them. How? Not coming back. Also, the owner, shame on you for trying to blame me for my own bad experience in my original reply. You clearly have enough time to look through security footage and identify me, so maybe take a few seconds to clean the tables once in a while instead of implying I brought my clothes in dirty.

I turned in a Ralph Lauren dress, and more items and only got $25. They also turned down 2 jeans and a Abercrombie and Fitch tank top that’s very cute but just isn’t my style anymore. I don’t know why they lowball people with what they turn in and how much money they give them, and turn down cute pieces when they have awful looking clothes in the store. Example shown in the image. Not only are their clothes questionable, but the outfits they put on their mannequins as well. $25 for what I turned in is insane and I only realized how little money that is for the amount of clothes I turned in, and also a high end brand, when I got home. I understand I could have turned it down, but as the owner has stated before, it’s more convenient. Will definitely not be selling here again.

This place is a rip off- they claim you can sell your items and they will give you 30% of what they will sell things for, but they literally go through your bags, take out the best Items and give you nothing.They received a new pair of Inc knee high boots, 2 Patricia Nash bags, a new Dooney small bag; a total of 17 items in total, and gave my daughter $65.00. What a joke! Then they ask you if you want to donate the items they didn’t choose. No, I’d rather throw them in the trash than to give to such a business!90 to 95% of my items were brand new, so that second hand excuse is just that;, more profit for the owners. Be true to your policy, and pay for what items are worth. The store is still making more to double for the items they are selling!

Nice phone customer service and in-store help:I’ve had brief, friendly informative phone call experiences with a few staff members.Then I went in this evening with just a barely minutes to spare before closing and Whitney helped me to expedite everything friendly and fast. It was so nice of her to even still let me do a consignment evaluation drop off at that time- literally at closing time basically. I just really appreciate helpful and friendly customer service and good information. She was informative, quick, helpful and friendly and i will be back in there for selling and shopping very soon.

Lots of cute things and they have some really great deals if you check the tag. I sometimes find that they’re picky when it comes to accepting the clothes you bring in, but it makes the customer experience better to have a more curated selection. I do hope that they start accepting some more gender neutral and smart casual wear though, as I’m finding my style is shifting more towards there.

I went here with my mom alittle while ago and we were trying to sell some clothes and all of the clothes we had were pretty fashionable. The lady that worked there did not a have a smile or anything and all she offered was 4$ for a pear of shorts. Don’t get me wrong I used to go here all the time and shop with my friends and find very cute things but I know if you work in customer service you can put a smile on your face and be nice. But the whole time she was being very rude to us and nice to all the other customers it just made us feel very mistratreated.

I would give it five stars except I wanted to look at a Gucci tote on the wall, asked for assistance, and the lady behind the counter gave me an ugly look. Awesome store! I was so happy to find it a couple years ago. I go faithfully 2-4 times a year and spend about $500 (which is lessened to about $300 after all the discounts). And I get quality, like new (sometimes NWT), designer and brand name clothing. My wardrobe would not be the same without this store! And I get compliments all the time on my outfits and style. Aside from the prices being great and cheap, the employees are very friendly, professional, and eager to apply any discount possible to your purchases. The rewards program is also amazing. The owner was extremely disrespectful. She instantly assumed my Louis Vuitton clutch that I attempted to sell was fake, boldly stating its fake while passively searching for the serial number. After she identified the serial numbers in my bag, she then said, Im not an appraisal expert. I cant help but wonder if I wasnt black if she wouldve instantly assumed I attempted to sell her a fake LV clutch.Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere. The lack of professionalism from the store owner was beyond disrespectful.Simply decline the sell. Dont make accusations, especially if youre not an appraisal expert.This review is long overdue. Just went there this week. 2nd time I came back they’re telling me they donated my clothes before the deadline to donate. I told them no, they said they were going to donate my clothes after the deadline during my 1st visit. I told them they should look through all of their items because I never confirmed them to donate my clothes. They end up telling me they found the clothes but had me leave without the money and never said anything about the items they took from my clothes. I remembered what they told me the first visit and the confirmation message they sent me, I had to let my brother go back to the store just to pick up the trade in money. Very unprofessional. Poor job. Horrible, horrible, horrible. Literally tried to scam me from my clothes.

I love the store. The people are great, they know your name and they build a good rapport with the customers. As for the people that complain about the prices or the fact that they did not accept theyre clothes, they are just mad because they thought you can bring the store a bunch of BS clothing items and get top dollar for them. For anybody who is reading the negative post about this establishment please do not pay attention because the staff works very hard . They have literally bags of clothes but they have to sort out and thats not an easy job. So please cut them some slack because half of us would not be able to do that job and show the customer service and patience that they do.

I found this place when I wanted to do some secondhand store shopping. It is absolutely amazing. I liked how well-organized the clothes were, and how helpful and friendly the staff were. I had a positive experience with the selling process in this store. The buy experts Sky and the other lady (i didnt get her name) were both very nice and has awesome customer service. It was my first time selling with them, and it only took less than 20 minutes (i came in right when they open). They took 15 items from my bin and gave me cash on the spot (they have store credit as an option too!). Ended up buying clothes from them too. Aisles are clean and organized, like youre shopping at the mall. Covid-19 guidelines are posted and staff are wearing masks. All in all good deal and experience! Will come back again!

My experience wasn’t great at all. This was my first time here. I walked into the store and was there for about 15 minutes and not one person greeted me and nobody asked me if I needed help. I brought in some clothes to return and went through the process of signing up and I guess I was taking too long to sign up because the person that was helping me (Megan) was rolling her eyes and became very annoyed quickly. She told me that she could take on of the items for $4 or store credit. I said “ok” and I started thinking about it but not 5 seconds later she asked again what I wanted but the way she said it had a negative connotation. After I told her what I wanted she was like “ok great thank you” like I finally made a choice. I asked her what her name was and then left the store. I wish someone came to ask me if I needed help and I wish Megan had a better attitude.

The only thing the place has going for it is the selection. They had a wide variety of designer styles in clothes, handbags and shoes. The issue is the pricing. Some items were priced so high that they were more expensive then the market value. Some items were priced high AND they were knock offs. Something to watch out for. Buying a designer item at market pricing that isnt real. Ill go back specifically for a sale but thats the only time Ill go

I sell a lot at uptown and i think the pay out is quite fair. Especially if you bring in some heat ...cant expect top dollar for fast fashion. Nobody is forcing you to sell here. Try selling your own stuff on marketplace or offer up .As far as buying there just copped some black gum 4s for personals for $75 !! And brand new vans for $37 still selling at Zuimes for $65.

I had the most horrible experience, the staff is Whitney, she’s probably the rudest and most careless assistant in the shop. Totally understand everyone should be more cautious during this pandemic, but when we ask for a container to put our cloth in she insisted we have to provide our own box because it’s the “rule”. Fine, so I brought a medium paper box that could fit about 20 garments and asked if it’s ok, then she said the box is “too small” and insist i have to bring a same clear bin that she’s holding. So I decide just to sell a few, because as she said, the box is “too small” she reluctantly said “ok, sure.” While I was sorting out the cloth at the very corner of the shop, another assistant brought over a big black basket and said he could offer me a basket to use, but just to remember to bring our own container the next time. He made me notice it isn’t the “rule” to use our own bin. Clearly, Whitney is not completing her work properly, irresponsible and rude is all I can think of her. I have nothing to say about how they pick out the cloth, it’s their option. I’m a Chinese blogger who runs an Instagram account of over 30k followers. Her manner made me feel uncomfortable being discriminated against by race that I will not only leave a one star and I will also share my honest felling and experience on my other social media. Dont sell your precious stuff in this store. Go to eBay or other online places. They only give you less than fraction of price. Not only that they refuse to accept the item making stupid excuses. I once tried to sell my Fila shoes which costed me 96 dollars retail and they tell me they can only pay me 14 dollars for it. Only 14 dollars for a clean shoes, because it is Fila brand? Next time, I brought my legit Air Jordan 11 to this place and they refuse to accept my item, because I put my custom insole inside my shoes. Whenever you go to this store to sell stuff, they are going to make all sort of excuses not to pay you. No wonder why eBay is far better and popular than this store.
