I started my business last year, but as it was scaling up I had no idea how to make it official, pay taxes, and start hiring people. I didnt realize that resources like this existed, otherwise I wouldve reached out a long time ago! Mark Hicks and Thuong Bui were so incredibly helpful, and I couldnt believe how much they were able to help me—including getting my LLC, my business license, and putting together a business plan. And it was all for free! Im so grateful for their support, and I wish more small business owners or budding entrepreneurs knew that entities like this can support you through what can otherwise feel like a scary and overwhelming process!

Writing a business plan is certainly overwhelming for most, but when I was introduced to Sean at University of Laverne, SDBC immediately after talking to him, I trusted him. We had a couple of virtual calls and showed me exactly how the business can profit walk me through step-by-step with the software. I recommend anybody looking to build a business plan to consult with Sean. It’s absolutely free, and he makes it very easy to get your business started feeling confident.

Feeling stuck is no fun!Ever since I launched my business I have allowed my heart to lead me. One step in front of the other to the next step that felt right.Until it wasnt enough. I needed guidance. Someone to pull back the curtain and help me figure out what I was missing.I originally reached out to a different organization and had no success at reaching a live person. When youre feeling like youre sinking and cant figure things out it, no response definitely adds to the overwhelm.Im glad I kept knocking until the right door opened. Sean and Mindy have been a Godsend. We have met twice and I am already feeling so much clearer about my messaging and marketing strategy.
