My Macbook Pro is crtical for all my work and associated COVID era Zoom meetings. When the box went down at 6AM on a Monday morning with what turned out to be a dysfunctional screen, the local Pasadena Apple store could not even promise to look at it until the next Sunday....much less project the time beyond that needed for repair. Unitek came to the rescue with a 10AM Monday appointment. I had them do a full fresh backup (not free, but necessary and successful). Then they got a new screen ordered and installed within 3 days. They were efficient, competent, and kept me informed of progress and what to expect via text messages -- and they even answered a phone inquiry for clarification.I plan to use Unitek as my new provider of choice for all Apple purchases and repairs.
My brand new macbook pro had the screen crack within two weeks, and I was immensely confused, brought it in to Unitek and they had me call Apple and get apple care even though Apple is usually a little difficult about getting it after the fact. The two people I worked with (I didnt catch their names, but particular a nice woman!) were positive and helpful when I was feeling stressed about my new laptop being broken. They were able to complete the repair before I drove out of town for the holidays. (Dropped off December 8th, picked up December 18th). I hope I dont have to come back for anything getting busted again, but if I do I know Ill be in good hands! Thanks guys!

Wow. What a joke. My notebook has liquid damage which Apple charges $999 to fix. But Apple was booked so they sent me to Unitek which is Apple certified meaning they price match Apple. Nope! Unitek was going to charge “at least” $1500. The woman working there was being flippant with me when another guy working there said yes they will match Apple. But then a THIRD guy came out and said no they can’t match it. So I left. Not one person welcomed me or made me feel confident in their abilities. This whole experience reeked of price gauging and up-selling.My advice: if Apple is sending you customers, don’t scare them away.
My MacBook Pro 2017 wasnt charging or working properly and my technician checked for recalls and helped me find the right recall to replace my battery, touchpad, speakers, and keyboard! She was very helpful.
Im pretty sure everybody feels the same dread about bringing their computer in somewhere, especially when you have stuff that isnt saved and you might lose... Unitek (and Issac in particular - hes the one that helped me) made sure that was not the experience I had. AND he was able to keep all my stuff so I didnt lose anything! He was very kind, knowledgeable, patient, polite, and overall just a really great person to help me out with my computer problem. I will definitely be using his services again - highly recommend!
I brought my macbook pro in for a sticky key and a broken internal camera, they replaced my keyboard as it was under warranty and got it back to me within a couple days. Khloe was very friendly and helpful! Love this place.

Went in for a backlight issue on my macbook pro. They took it in and had it ready within a week! I was kept updated through text messages which was very convenient. Fast and friendly service!
Went to try to fix a laptop and I read the sign that says 2 customers in store at a time and the rest wait outside. I went with my 2 kids and Gary said one of you has to wait outside. I told him theyre my kids he said unless I want to pay him $125- for a Covid test one of us had to wait outside🙁its the way he said it. He could of explained in a polite way I would of understood as I work in customer service and we have the same rules. After finding out they couldnt repair our laptop, we walked out and 3 people walked in and he didnt tell them anything about only having 2 people at a time. We stood out there for about 10 minutes waiting to see if Gary was going to say anything.....and no finished helping the first customer without telling the other 2 people to wait outside. Extremely disappointed with Gary and his rudeness.
Had an issue with a keyboard on my mac, everything got fixed fast and quick. Had amazing customer service. Khloie was awesome and helped with any issues I had with my mac.thanks so much for the fix and knowledgeable employees.

So 垃圾 I have been waiting my lab top to be fixed for weeks without any further notice. They told me it’s in a good condition after I called them. But the day when I pick up my laptop, it crushes again. I don’t know what they were doing. They do nothing about it and let my laptop sitting there for weeks.
Very professional, timely, responsive. Fixed my computer in much shorter than the predicted timeframe. Provided updates frequently and were very friendly! My computer is functioning better than ever and I would recommend them to all of my friends!

They said it was gonna cost $780 to replace my screen. I went to another apple approved store and they said $550. This place isn’t friendly at all and I don’t trust them. Go somewhere else.
Had a problem with my 2019 mac pro graphic card, even though they are listed on apples site as Apple Authorized Service Provider they say they dont work on 2019 mac pros and told me to bring it to an apple store (all apple store are currently closed due to covid).
No info, high prices...they think, but dont know. Thus us because they are the official Apple spot, but have no ability to give estimates...other than really expensive guesses at parts that may or may not be the issue.

2022-03-25 01:54:56Apple Support recommended I take my MacBook Pro computer to Unitek in Pasadena, California to diagnose and repair it.Unitek is an Apple Premier Partner, Premium Service Provider and Apple Certified repair store with multiple locations in California.Unitek at 705 N Lake Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91104 was the closest store to Ridgecrest, California my location.I called to make sure that Unitek would be able to work on my vintage MacBook Pro Computer. Amazingly Isaac said, “Unitek welcomes walk in customers!”I told Isaac when I would arrive the next day. I explained I was driving over 140 miles one way and wanted to make sure he could look at my computer, diagnose it, then hopefully order any parts necessary for the repair.Since, my MacBook Pro computer was a Mid 2012 model (it may have been challenging to even get the parts.)I was happy and grateful that I found a Certified Apple Repair store willing to work on my computer!Isaak listened to the problems with the computer. Then Isaac took my MacBook Pro computer and started working on it right away!After diagnosing the problem, Isaac replaced the cable that goes to the hard drive. My MacBook Pro computer has worked perfectly ever since!Isaac explained the cable to the hard drive had been replaced. Isaac even had a spare hard drive cable and installed it! Isaac told me, “No data was lost and the MacBook Pro computer was working fine.”However, I was relieved that the computer was backed up on an external hard drive before it crashed.I am happy and grateful that Isaac was able to repair my computer in a little over an hour!Now it is time for me to buy a refurbished, or new Apple MacBook Pro computer As Soon As Possible!Isaac was a pleasure to work with and did a fantastic job! Unitek was able to see me a week before the Apple Store was able to which was a huge plus.Theyre great with their procedures, they let me know the timeline of when I can expect my device back and gave a heads up that there may be delays since they had to order parts.A week later, I received my repaired MacBook Pro, as good as new.They did great work and really glad they check ID to confirm the pickup, to prevent some other person from claiming it.Theyre knowledgeable and able to see you in less time than the Apple Store. Definitely recommended.

2021-07-05 01:43:15I had my Macbook Pro fixed here a few months ago, and wanted to just make sure all went well before posting a review.I highly recommend this spot. The turnaround for my screen replacement was very fast, and the staff recommended a free recall repair that I did not know was available for my keyboard.It seems they even cleaned/polished the outer case, since it had a few scratches that were gone when I picked it up.Thank you!

2021-06-04 17:04:21I dont often write reviews, but I need to leave one to say how happy I was with this company. My laptop keyboard was misbehaving, and I found this service provider under the Apple repair centers after finding that the Apple Store had no appointments available. I was very nervous about using a 3rd party service, but I shouldnt have been. When I told the Unitek staff that my computer was necessary for my job, they gave it back to me while they waited for the necessary part to come in. Then they installed very quickly - I was only without my device for about 18 hours. Repair was flawless and completely covered by the Apple recall of my keyboard, no hidden charges anywhere. 5+ stars, highly recommended!

2021-07-24 22:04:28Im very grateful for the professionalism, kindness, and expertise of Isaac, who helped me out today. I went to Unitek at the referral of Apple customer service to figure out how to back up my Macbook Air onto an external hard drive as I made some errors trying to do it on my own and had my problem fixed by Isaac. I wasnt even charged anything for his time, which was atleast 15 minutes! The store is also very clean and well maintained. If you have any issues with Apple products, I highly recommend Unitek on Pasadena.

2021-03-01 01:10:53This place claims to be an authorized repair service place for Apple but their customer service is the worse. It’s the worse coming from the owner/main manager of the shop! I drove from Anaheim all the way to Pasadena with traffic to get my Mac fix with a factory defect and they were not able to help me. The owner of the shop comes out and straight out tells me that he has been working with a thousand computers and this is not his first time seeing a key board broken. He claims that I am lying about not dropping something on top of it and ignores everything I was telling him. Does he not understand the simple fact that everything man made has a defect. He does not care to listen nor understand that I barely used the computer over a lapse of 11 months and the key board key broke by “typing.” Never in my life had this happen but sure states that I am lying and I had to pay 99$ for the repair and had to leave it for a week for them to fix. Worse customer service in my life. I took the computer to Apple a month later, an actual Apple store, they fixed it in less than 5mins, no charge at all. I definitely recommend anyone from coming to this shop. This place needs to first need to understand the basic principles of customer service and how to “listen.” Apple has certainly chosen the worse partnership with this shop to help their clients.

2020-10-10 16:41:51I came here like lots of people because my usual Genius Bar was perpetually overbooked (thank you covid) and apple.com showed this location as the only repair shop available. The customer service was fine. What I didnt like is the quality of repair. I came here for the notorious stuck keyboard issue which was covered by Apples keyboard service program. My issue is the Touch ID/power button was misaligned after repair. It doesnt affect performance and it still works.While my device is under warranty, yes I would come back here again.

I have always had difficulty in finding competent Apple retailers and I am ecstatic to have found this group to be able to help me with all of my Apple/tech needs in the future.
