It is with pleasure and gratitude that I write this review for US Stamp Company. I am the executor for an estate which had a substantial coin collection accumulated over two generations. My responsibility was to first have the collection appraised then execute the desires of the heirs. I was lucky enough to connect with Ron at US Stamp Company after previously speaking to several other “appraisers” that were more like pawn shops. It didn’t take me long into our conversation to know I was in the right place. Ron possessed all the core values I was looking for – integrity, professionalism, and trustworthiness. He educated us on what we had and respectfully served as a steward of the family’s collection. His appraisal was accepted by the courts without any questions. And when it came time to liquidate, he explained the process in detail and took time to answer questions and accommodate specific requests from the heirs. Ron and his team were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Both the estate attorney and I now have US Stamp Co. on our list of reputable stamp and coin appraisers to refer to others needing this valuable service. We have the greatest respect for Ron and US Stamp & Coin Company. We inherited a coin collection, with many different types of coins, which we brought to Ron to liquidate, and we are glad we did! Ron sold the collection within the estimated time frame and for a total amount that exceeded its estimated value. The final accounting was complicated by the fact that one of us retained some coins, and the value of those coins had to be properly accounted for in dividing the proceeds. Ron worked through the accounting issues with us to ensure the final distribution was accurate and fair. Throughout this process, Ron was professional, responsive to our concerns, and honest. It was our good fortune to work with someone of such personal and professional integrity who worked so successfully on our behalf. Thank you, Ron!

My brother and I turned to Ron and US Stamp Company to help sell off a fairly extensive stamp and coin collection our father left us upon his death. Knowing nothing of this world, Ron helped us navigate and successfully supported in selling off the collection. While it did take some time, it was a larger collection and Ron was upfront, honest and stuck to every word he gave us. Ever grateful for Ron’s help and expertise in selling a collection of coins and stamps for my mom. I can’t imagine a better experience or outcome in dealing with that stuff. Ron is knowledgeable, friendly, plain-speaking, and very fair. Every other person I interacted with in the office was cheerful and quick to help. Ron and his team were great to work with. They worked very hard to get the most value out of my uncles estate, and helped us during a difficult time. We were very pleased with the result. We also were impressed with the research they did on the items sold, providing us with new information about our family history, and adding a value to their service that we did not expect and greatly appreciate.

What a great experience it was to meet you an your staff. I am from South East Tn. Have lived in NorCal for 15yrs an most often the customer service honestly is bad, very bad. But you were exceptional in making us feel comfortable an safe with the sale of many precious items that a few were hard to let go of. I inherited a stamp collection from my father in 2000 which I promptly forgot about for 23 years until I cleaned out my storage space. Since I know absolutely nothing about the stamp world, I was very glad to find Ron Umile. I experienced Ron as ethical, extremely knowledgeable, professional, accessible, and easily understandable.Ron suggested a hybrid payment approach of 92% cash and 8% consignment to maximize the collection value. I agreed, but on further reflection, I changed my mind and decided I wanted 100% cash. Ron was flexible and agreed to amend our agreement which he was under no obligation to do. He also bumped up the payment price a bit and offered to share the profits with me if the collection sold for more than his estimate. He, again, was under no obligation to make this offer because we had a 100% cash deal.If you are considering liquidating a stamp collection, you would be in very good hands doing business with Ron Umile of United States Stamp Company.

Ron is the best. After my dad died, I took his 75 stamp albums to Rons office building, he helped me cart the albums upstairs and spent over 2 hours browsing through the albums while assessing their value. Then, after a few months and a few periodic progress updates, he sent me a big check which was way over the assessed value. This guy clearly knows what he is doing! Theres no way I could have cleared this much profit on my own. I highly recommend United States Stamp Company.

Ron, was there for me when I needed help the most. My Dad who had passed away several months before had amassed a large collection of stamps, coins, paper currency as well as knives, coca cola memorabilia and other assorted items. I honestly had no idea how to appraise or sell these thing. Ron and his team came in and over the course of 2 days categorized the entire collection. He advanced me 5K in a week and the collection itself took over 6 months for him to part out, but I got an additional whopping 17K when all was said and done. He even sent me a detailed list, line item by line item of all that sold including costs. Ron is extremely professional and trustworthy. If you need to sell you can trust your stuff here.

I had an excellent experience last week with Ron and his staff at United States Stamp Co. in Emeryville. I inherited a voluminous stamp and coin collection from my grandfather, and I couldnt make heads or tails of it on my own. Ron was not only able to evaluate the collection, but they also helped me get eight heavy boxes from my car into their office. Ron took the time to explain what I had, and pointed out the different values in the catalogs. It was an education on coin and stamp collecting. I decided to go ahead and consign my collection with them. Bottom line, these guys are great. If you have stamps or coins that you need to sell, these are the guys to see.

I recommend US Stamp & Coin Company for stamp collection sales. The market for stamp collection is in decline. I initially went to another dealer and that person sold the most easily marketable portion of my valuable stamp collection over a very long period of time (years). The original dealers annual sales eventually declined to zero. The original dealer then agreed to purchase the remaining portion of the collection from me as an alternative to consignment sale. I then recovered the remaining stamps and brought them to US Stamp and Coin for evaluation and consignment sale. I was told that the entire remaining portion of the collection could be sold within about a year and I was given an estimated value for the sale. The estimated value significantly exceeded the original dealers direct purchase offer. Now that the consignment sale with US Stamp and Coin Company has been completed within the estimated time, I can report that I am totally satisfied. Not only was the entire remaining collection sold, the price realized exceeded the original estimate provided my by US Stamp and Coin Company. Thank you Ron Umile! This was a job well done.

I was referred to this company by a neighbor who had known and respected the owner, Ron Umile, for many years. My husband had passed away recently and I wanted to liquidate his coin and stamp collections. I had almost no idea of their value. Mr. Umile spent two hours with me carefully going through everything and explaining things and answering my questions. At the end, he offered me an amount based on what he saw during those two hours and what he thought he could sell the collections for. As I said, I have no real idea of the value of the collections, but I trusted him when he told me I had nothing particularly rare. I believe that he was honest with me and thorough in his evaluation. He purchased from me several very heavy cardboard boxes full of albums and loose items. I think the price was fair because I know it will require a lot of hard labor to turn my things into a profit; hes welcome to them. I would definitely recommend Mr. Umile and his company to anyone in a situation similar to mine.

I have been dealing with US Stamp Company for a year and one-half on disposition of inherited stamp and coin collections: I rate this as a five-star experience.I base that assessment on the outstanding quality of their services, their professionalism and integrity, informed and unbiased advice, helpful assistance and encouragement, and the courtesy and politeness in both remote exchanges and face-to-face meetings.I came to learn of US Stamp Company as the result of an internet search: yes, an internet search, since I had no relatives or friends in the Bay Area who had knowledge and experience in philately or collectables. I had inherited significant stamp and coin collections from a close relative, who was a serious and informed collector. His collections were in the Bay Area, and I lived on the East Coast but had an overseas move pending. I realised that I would not be able to maintain the collections once overseas.
